  • Pro Bowl rosters include 9 Ravens, 7 Lions, no Patrick Mahomes

Pro Bowl rosters include 9 Ravens, 7 Lions, no Patrick Mahomes

Nine Baltimore Ravens, including two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, were selected for the Pro Bowl Games.

The Detroit Lions are next with seven players and the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles each have six players on the NFC roster.

Patrick Mahomes wasn’t selected to the AFC roster for the first time since becoming Kansas City’s starting quarterback in his second season. Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl MVP and six-time Pro Bowl pick, wasn’t among five Chiefs chosen. Teammate Travis Kelce made it for the 10th time.

Washington’s Jayden Daniels is just the fourth rookie quarterback since 1970 selected to the initial Pro Bowl roster. Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Rams outside linebacker Jared Verse are the other rookies among 24 players chosen for the first time.

Detroit’s Jared Goff is the NFC’s starting quarterback and Minnesota’s Sam Darnold also made the team. The AFC’s starting quarterback is Buffalo’s Josh Allen. Jackson and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow are the backups.

Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley, who became the ninth player to rush for 2,000 yards, is the NFC’s starting running back.

San Francisco’s Kyle Juszczyk was selected to his ninth Pro Bowl, the most ever by a fullback. Indianapolis’ Quenton Nelson is the third offensive lineman since 1970 to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven career seasons.

Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase is the fourth wide receiver to be selected in each of his first four seasons. Dallas’ Micah Parsons is the first defensive player chosen in each of his first four seasons since Aaron Donald went to 10 straight.

Wide receiver Zay Flowers, safety Kyle Hamilton, cornerback Marlon Humphrey, center Tyler Linderbaum, defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, fullback Patrick Ricard and inside linebacker Roquan Smith are the other Ravens.

Safety Brian Branch, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, center Frank Ragnow, right tackle Penei Sewell, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and punter Jack Fox join Goff from the Lions.

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson, outside linebackers Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard, cornerback Byron Murphy and long snapper Andrew DePaola are the other Vikings.

Right tackle Lane Johnson, center Cam Jurgens and left guard Landon Dickerson, defensive tackle Jalen Carter and inside linebacker Zack Baun are going from Philadelphia.

The Dolphins, Jets, Titans and Saints are the only teams not represented.

This is the third year of the Pro Bowl Games after the NFL eliminated its full-contact all-star game and replaced it with weeklong skills competitions and a flag football game.

The games will take place at Central Florida and finish with a seven-on-seven flag football game between the AFC and NFC at Camping World Stadium on Feb. 2.

Peyton and Eli Manning again will be head coaches for the two conferences.

The Pro Bowl rosters have been revealed and they include a whopping 9 Baltimore Ravens players and 7 Detroit Lions players. However, one notable absence from the roster is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Despite leading the Chiefs to multiple playoff appearances and a Super Bowl victory in recent years, Mahomes was not selected to the Pro Bowl this season. This surprising omission has sparked debate among football fans and analysts, with many questioning the decision to leave out one of the league’s most electrifying players.

Nevertheless, the Ravens and Lions will be well-represented at the Pro Bowl, with a total of 16 players from the two teams earning spots on the roster. This impressive showing highlights the talent and depth of both organizations, and should make for an exciting Pro Bowl matchup.

As for Mahomes, he will have to settle for watching from the sidelines this year, but there’s no doubt he will be motivated to come back even stronger next season and prove why he is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

  • Patrick Mahomes And His Colleagues Put On Notice About Home Security As Burglary Runs Rampant

Patrick Mahomes And His Colleagues Put On Notice About Home Security As Burglary Runs Rampant

The FBI has finally made headway in the string of burglaries that has plagued several A-listers like Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and other athletes recently received warnings from the FBI to beef up their home security and prioritize keeping their movements low-key. These A-listers need to be extra vigilant because of organized crime groups.

These thieves broke into Patrick Mahomes’ home in October before hitting the property of his teammate Travis Kelce. The pair joined an ever-growing list of celebrities targeted by these groups who regrettably continue to evade the law.

FBI Warns Pro Athletes About The Dangers Of Organized Burglary Groups

    MEGA

The FBI issued their warning to pro athletes in a statement, revealing groups of organized thieves were targeting their homes. They shared their findings about these criminal gangs days after NBA star Luka Doncic became the latest victim of a home invasion.

The feds explained that these thieves chose to raid the homes of A-listers whenever they were on the road or at games. However, these groups were not afraid to hatch their robbery scheme in the homeowners’ presence, making them a significant threat to everyone’s safety.

“These homes are targeted for burglary due to the perception they may have high-end goods like designer handbags, jewelry, watches, and cash. While many burglaries occur while homes are unoccupied, some burglaries occur while residents are home,” the FBI officials said per TMZ, adding:

“In these instances, individuals are encouraged to seek law enforcement help and avoid engaging with criminals, as they may be armed or use violence if confronted.”

A-listers Need To Increase Their Home Security

The FBI shared that the culprits appear to originate from South American groups who use “preparation tactics” to get in and out of homes with stolen goods before they can be caught.

“Organized theft groups bypass alarm systems, use Wi-Fi jammers to block Wi-Fi connections and disable devices, cover security cameras, and obfuscate their identities,” the feds claimed. On that note, they advised athletes to beef up their home security.

Additionally, the FBI urged them to take note of their valuables and refrain from sharing social media updates whenever they were away from home. The athletes that have been robbed in recent months, excluding Mahomes, Kelce, and Doncic, include Joe Burrow, Bobby Portis Jr., and Tyler Sequin.

Athletes Aren’t The Only Celebrities In Danger Of Home Invasions

    MEGA

While the FBI’s alert focused on pro athletes, they were not the only ones getting targeted by burglars. The Blast covered that celebrities like actor Simu Liu were not safe from these cunning thieves.

The Marvel star became the latest victim of Los Angeles’ increasing string of robberies when a home invader trespassed onto his luxurious 4,700 square feet property. The culprit reportedly smashed a glass door around 11 p.m., setting off the security systems.

The invader escaped before police arrived; however, reports confirmed nothing valuable was stolen from Liu’s property. Other celebrities who suffered home invasions in 2024 include Tom Hanks, Marlon Wayans, and Tyler Perry.

Mahomes Revamped His Home Security After The Burglary Incident

Last month, The Blast shared that Mahomes had beefed up his home security following October’s burglary incident. Sources claimed he made necessary adjustments and heightened his property’s protection measures but did not reveal the changes.

The burglary also affected Mahomes’ gated community as they increased their defense systems to ease residents’ minds. The security update came shortly after the NFL superstar addressed the home invasion during a press conference.

Obviously, it’s frustrating. It’s disappointing. It’s something you don’t want to happen to anyone, but especially to yourself,” Mahomes lamented. It was unclear if he and his family had been present when the burglary occurred, but he noted more details about the incident would be revealed later.

Patrick Mahomes Was Fined For ‘Violent Gesture’ In A Game

Weeks after addressing the burglary incident, Mahomes found himself in trouble with the NFL over his poor sportsmanship. The Blast noted he was punished for making a “violent gesture” during his touchdown celebration in the fourth quarter of a game against the Buffalo Bills.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero confirmed that the athlete received a $14,069 fine for his behavior. This is another unfortunate punishment during a BBillsmatch. Last season, Mahomes was penalized with a $50,000 fine for “verbally abusing” officials during a postgame press conference.

The NFL began cracking down on “obscene gestures” made by athletes during their celebrations, especially “gun-related” signs. The league has issued 17 fines this season, with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell noting it was necessary as they did not stand behind these inappropriate gestures.

From fines to groups of organized thieves targeting their homes, pro athletes like Patrick Mahomes have much to worry about.

With the recent surge in burglaries targeting high-profile athletes, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his colleagues are being urged to take extra precautions to protect their homes and families.

In recent months, several NFL players have fallen victim to burglaries, with thieves targeting their luxury homes while they are away competing in games or traveling for various commitments. With the rising popularity of social media, it has become easier for criminals to track the movements of athletes and identify when they are not home.

To combat this threat, security experts are advising athletes to invest in advanced home security systems, including surveillance cameras, motion sensors, and smart locks. Additionally, they are encouraged to keep a low profile on social media and refrain from posting their whereabouts in real-time.

As one of the most recognizable and highly paid athletes in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes must take extra precautions to ensure the safety of his loved ones and valuables. By being proactive and diligent about home security measures, he can deter potential burglars and enjoy peace of mind both on and off the field.

In these uncertain times, it is crucial for athletes to prioritize their safety and well-being, and investing in top-notch home security is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Let’s hope that Patrick Mahomes and his colleagues take this warning seriously and take the necessary steps to protect themselves from becoming victims of burglary.

  • Philadelphia Flyers’ Matvei Michkov Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Maroon given maximum allowable fine

Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov has been fined $2,473.96, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for high-sticking Quinton Byfield of the Los Angeles Kings, the Department of Player Safety announced on Monday.

Just after 11 minutes into the third period into the game between the Kings and Flyers on Sunday, Michkov and Byfield were given each given minor penalties after getting tangled up in the neutral zone. Byfield received a roughing penalty, while Michkov was penalized for high-sticking after swinging his stick and striking Byfield in the head after the two were separated.

Michkov has been at odds with head coach John Tortorella throughout the campaign, including when he was benched for the third period in Philadelphia’s 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

Still, the fiery rookie is putting together a Calder-level campaign in his first season in the NHL, as he has 12 goals (tied for the most among rookies with Macklin Celebrini) and 29 points (leads all rookies) through 35 games.

Veteran forward Patrick Maroon was also fined by the Department of Player Safety on Monday. He received a $3,385.42 fine, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for elbowing the Dallas StarsMavrik Bourque.

The incident occurred at 15:37 of the third period, and Maroon was assessed a minor penalty for roughing on the play.

Maroon, 36, has one goal and nine points in 34 games for Chicago,m his first with the team. The three-time Stanley Cup winner is in his 14th campaign in the NHL.

The Philadelphia Flyers’ Matvei Michkov and Chicago Blackhawks’ Patrick Maroon have both been hit with the maximum allowable fine for their on-ice altercation during their recent game.

The incident occurred late in the third period when Michkov and Maroon got into a heated exchange, resulting in both players being assessed penalties. Following a review of the incident, the league has decided to hand down the maximum fine to both players for their actions.

This serves as a reminder that the NHL takes player conduct seriously and will not tolerate any behavior that puts the safety of others at risk. Both Michkov and Maroon will need to pay the fine and also face potential disciplinary action from their respective teams.

Let this be a lesson to all players that actions have consequences, and it is important to always conduct oneself with respect and sportsmanship on and off the ice.

Tim Patrick Fantasy Week 17: Projections vs. 49ers, Points and Stats, Start or Sit

As we head into the final week of the fantasy football season, Tim Patrick of the Denver Broncos is a player worth keeping an eye on. In Week 17, Patrick and the Broncos will be facing off against the San Francisco 49ers, and fantasy owners are wondering whether or not he is a viable option for their lineups.

When looking at the numbers, Patrick has been a consistent contributor for the Broncos this season. He has recorded 53 receptions for 742 yards and five touchdowns so far, making him a reliable target for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. In Week 16, Patrick had a solid performance, hauling in five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders.

In terms of projections for Week 17, Patrick is expected to have a solid outing against the 49ers. With the 49ers defense allowing an average of 21.6 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, Patrick could be in line for a productive day. Projections have him slated to potentially score around 12-15 fantasy points in PPR formats.

So, should fantasy owners start or sit Tim Patrick in Week 17? Considering his consistent production and favorable matchup against the 49ers, Patrick could be a strong play for fantasy owners in need of a wide receiver. While he may not be a WR1 option, Patrick could serve as a solid WR2 or flex play for those in need of depth at the position.

Ultimately, the decision to start or sit Tim Patrick will depend on your roster and matchup needs. If you have other viable options at wide receiver, Patrick could be a solid start for Week 17. However, if you have stronger options available, it may be worth considering sitting him in favor of a more favorable matchup.

Overall, Tim Patrick has the potential to be a solid fantasy play in Week 17 against the 49ers, and fantasy owners should consider starting him if they are in need of a reliable wide receiver option.

2 days agoDetroit Lions wide receiver Tim Patrick spent his entire career in Denver before injuries led him to his current team. While he was more productive with the Broncos, he has still played better than expected with the Lions. The 31-year-old has appeared in 14 games during the 2024-25 campaign, totaling 31 catches for 379 yards. But after amassing three touchdowns combined in meetings with the Packers and Bills, Patrick went cold against the Bears by failing to catch his only target. It’s obvious Patrick can still play well. However, with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams on the field, Patrick could struggle to get anything going on Monday night versus the 49ers, making him an extremely risky fantasy option.Dennis Clausen – RotoBaller

As we head into Week 17 of the 2024 fantasy football season, Tim Patrick is looking like a solid option for fantasy owners. Patrick has been a consistent performer throughout the season, putting up solid numbers week after week.

In Week 17, Patrick and the Denver Broncos are set to take on a tough opponent in the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs have a strong defense, Patrick has shown that he can produce even against top defenses.

Patrick has been a favorite target of quarterback Drew Lock, and their connection on the field has been evident throughout the season. With Lock looking to Patrick as a reliable option in the passing game, fantasy owners can feel confident starting Patrick in Week 17.

Overall, Tim Patrick is shaping up to be a reliable fantasy option for Week 17. With his consistent production and strong connection with Drew Lock, Patrick has the potential to put up solid numbers against the Chiefs. Fantasy owners should feel comfortable starting Patrick in their lineups for the final week of the season.

As we head into Week 17, fantasy football owners are looking for any edge they can get to secure a win and potentially lock up a playoff spot. One player who could be a difference-maker in this crucial week is Tim Patrick of the Denver Broncos.

Patrick has been a consistent and reliable option for fantasy owners this season, putting up solid numbers week in and week out. In his last matchup against the Chargers, he caught 4 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown, showing his ability to find the end zone.

This week, Patrick will face off against the San Francisco 49ers, who have been vulnerable against the pass this season. With the Broncos likely to be playing catch-up in this game, Patrick should see plenty of targets and opportunities to make big plays.

I project Patrick to have a strong performance in Week 17, finishing with 6 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. He has the potential to be a difference-maker for fantasy owners in this crucial week, so make sure to get him in your lineup and reap the rewards.

  • Christian McCaffrey’s Father’s 3-Word Fiery Message as Patrick Mahomes Seemingly Ditches ‘Meaningless’ Broncos Game

Christian McCaffrey’s Father’s 3-Word Fiery Message as Patrick Mahomes Seemingly Ditches ‘Meaningless’ Broncos Game

2024 hasn’t really been the year for the 49ers. After losing to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, the Niners ended their last season in the most heartbreaking way possible. Coming into 2024, everyone thought the 49ers would go on a revenge run to claim what they couldn’t last year. However, look at them now. With two games still remaining on their schedule, San Francisco has nothing to play for. But Christian McCaffrey’s dad, Ed, thinks otherwise.

A three-time Super Bowl Champion, Ed knows what it feels like to play in meaningless games. Sharing a thread, Ed proclaimed Instagram story, I remember playing in so-called “meaningless” @NFL games at the end of the season. Let me tell ya something, every game has meaning. We play for our God, family, the respect of our coaches & teammates, fans, city & the list goes on and on… if you play today, make it count!” Well, it’s the NFL we are talking about.

You are bound to face challenges, but giving up before it’s all done and dusted isn’t an option. Playing their last game in the Bay Area, Ed has urged his Niners to “Make it count.” Well, Christian McCaffrey’s dad isn’t the only one urging his team to show their fans what it means to play for San Francisco. Their head coach, Kyle Shanahan, is also looking forward to spoiling the Lions’ chances of securing the NFC’s No.1 seed, “I want to end it by beating Detroit. Nothing would be better than upsetting them and ruining their chance at the one seed and having a game that we can be proud of.”

Although it looks unlikely against a Lions side that has won 13 games this season, you just never know what will happen. Just look at last season’s NFC Championship game. The 49ers came back from a 17-point deficit to win against Detroit. So anything can happen on Monday Night when the Lions face off against a determined 49ers team. While the Niners are approaching their meaningless clash with a fiery attitude, Kansas City is doing the complete opposite. They have seemingly decided to rest Patrick Mahomes for their last game of the regular season.

Ed’s former team handed a major boost ahead of their clash with the Chiefs

With the AFC’s No. 1 seed already in their pocket, the Chiefs still took care of business against the Steelers on Christmas. There’s little at stake for the remainder of the regular season. But they are still approaching their final game of the season with a precautionary measure. As per Fox Sports reporter Peter Schrager, the Chiefs are going to start their backup QB Carson Wentz in place of Patrick Mahomes in week 18. If they do, it will be Wentz’s first start of the year since his last one in 2023.

That one, too, came in a ‘meaningless’ game for the Rams when they had already secured their postseason qualification. But it isn’t like Wentz failed to perform. He finished his outing by completing 17 of his 24 passes for 163 yards, alongside two TDs. Well, that start came when he was still in Los Angeles. This time, he will be wearing the Chiefs’ colors and will have a chance to show what he can do for the Chiefs Kingdom.

Now, the news that Wentz will start is music to Denver’s ears. Win against the Chiefs and qualify for the playoffs without having to depend on other teams. As things stand, Wentz is the only hurdle to their postseason hopes. So, let’s see how this one plays out, shall we?

In a recent turn of events, Christian McCaffrey’s father, former NFL player Ed McCaffrey, had a fiery message for Patrick Mahomes as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback seemingly ditched the “meaningless” game against the Denver Broncos.

In just three words, Ed McCaffrey made his feelings known about Mahomes’ decision to sit out the game, tweeting, “Show some respect.”

It’s clear that Ed McCaffrey believes in the importance of playing every game with integrity and respect for the sport, regardless of the stakes. As a former player himself, he understands the dedication and commitment required to succeed in the NFL.

While some may argue that sitting out a game with no playoff implications is a smart move to protect players from injury, Ed McCaffrey’s message serves as a reminder that true athletes should always give their all on the field, no matter the circumstances.

As the debate rages on about Mahomes’ decision, one thing is for certain: Ed McCaffrey’s three-word message has sparked a fiery discussion about sportsmanship and respect in the NFL.
