  • Daron Payne, Bobby Wagner remain out of practice for Commanders

The Commanders remained without two key defensive players at practice on Thursday.

Defensive tackle Daron Payne (knee, finger) and linebacker Bobby Wagner (ankle) missed practice for the second straight day. Wagner missed two practices last week before playing against Detroit and Payne was limited in practice during the week.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel (illness) was added to the report after missing practice. Guard Sam Cosmi was also out and he will miss Sunday’s game after tearing his ACL against the Lions.

Defensive end Clelin Ferrell (knee) and tight end Zach Ertz (rib) returned to practice. Ferrell was limited and Ertz was a full participant.

Tight end John Bates (shoulder), defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste (shoulder), wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (hip), wide receiver Jamison Crowder (rest), linebacker Frankie Luvu (shoulder), and tight end Ben Sinnott (shoulder) were limited participants.

Daron Payne and Bobby Wagner, two key players for the Washington Commanders, were absent from practice once again today. Both players have been dealing with injuries and their status for the upcoming game remains uncertain.

Payne, a standout defensive tackle, has been sidelined with a knee injury and has missed the last few practices. Wagner, a veteran linebacker, is nursing a hamstring injury and has also been held out of practice.

The Commanders are hopeful that both players will be able to return to the field soon, as they are crucial pieces of the team’s defense. However, their absence from practice is certainly cause for concern as the Commanders prepare for their next game.

Stay tuned for updates on Payne and Wagner’s status as the Commanders continue their preparations for their upcoming matchup.

  • Bobby Wagner is off Commanders injury report, Daron Payne listed as questionable

Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner shared his thoughts on what the team has to do to limit Eagles running back Saquon Barkley earlier this week and the team confirmed he’ll be part of those plans on Friday.

Wagner missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury, but he has no injury designation for Sunday after returning for a limited session. Wagner will be bidding to make it to the Super Bowl for the third time in his career after making it twice during his time in Seattle.

The Commanders did not get defensive lineman Daron Payne back at practice, but they haven’t ruled him out. He’s questionable due to play because of knee and finger injuries.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel (illness) and defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste (shoulder) are also listed as questionable. Right guard Sam Cosmi will miss the game with a torn ACL.

Great news for Washington Commanders fans! Star linebacker Bobby Wagner has been removed from the injury report ahead of this week’s game. Wagner has been dealing with some minor injuries, but it looks like he’ll be good to go on game day.

However, there is some concern about defensive lineman Daron Payne, who is listed as questionable for the upcoming game. Payne has been a key player on the defensive line and his absence could be felt if he’s unable to suit up.

Let’s hope Payne is able to recover in time for the game and that the Commanders can continue their winning ways with Wagner leading the defense. Stay tuned for updates on Payne’s status as game day approaches. #WashingtonCommanders #BobbyWagner #DaronPayne #NFLInjuryReport

Liam Payne: Five people charged in connection with One Direction star’s death, prosecutor says

    CNN
     —

Five people have been charged in connection with the death of former One Direction star Liam Payne in Argentina, the country’s prosecutor’s office said in a statement on Monday.

The British singer fell to his death from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires in October. He was 31.

A person identified as Payne’s “representative,” as well as the hotel’s manager and its head of reception, have been charged with manslaughter, the prosecutor’s office said. If convicted, they face up to five years in prison.

A hotel employee and a local waiter have also been charged with supplying Payne with cocaine during his stay, and the judge has ordered them to be jailed ahead of their trial. They could face up to 15 years in prison.

The court has not disclosed the identities of the accused, beyond their professional roles in relation to the victim.

Payne had alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in his system before his death, Argentine prosecutors said last month.

Judge Laura Bruniard, who is in charge of the case, concluded that, due to his state of intoxication, Payne would have confused the balcony of the hotel room with a possible exit, and as he tried to leave through the balcony, he lost his life in an unplanned fall.

Citing evidence gathered from expert reports, testimonies and footage from cameras in the hotel, the judge said Payne had been in the hotel lobby in an evident state of intoxication minutes before his fall on October 16.

“At 4:54 p.m. that day, Liam Payne was unconscious in the reception of Casa Sur and was dragged by three people” to his room, Bruniard said.

The hotel manager is accused of witnessing the moment when Payne was in the lobby and of “enabling, at least by omission,” the transfer of the victim to a room that had a balcony, “which was a source of risk for Payne,” according to the judge.

The receptionist is accused of guiding a group of three people who dragged Payne from the lobby to the room. “The conduct that should have been carried out was to keep him safe in an area without sources of danger, in company and until he was provided with medical care,” the judge also concluded.

Payne’s representative is accused of leaving the hotel 50 minutes before Payne fell, despite being aware of the singer’s vulnerable state. The defendant “failed to fulfill his duties of care, assistance and aid,” said the statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, “leaving (Payne) to his fate, knowing that he was incapable of taking care of himself, knowing that the accused suffered from multiple addictions.” The representative, who is American, has been barred from leaving Argentina.

Although the hotel manager, the receptionist and the representative are accused of manslaughter, the judge determined that they did not act together or in a planned manner.

As for those accused of supplying narcotics, Bruniard has ordered them to serve preventive detention.

Payne had spoken openly about his struggles with substance abuse and his mental health. In the summer of 2023, Payne said he was marking six months of sobriety after completing treatment in a US facility. Payne’s tour was set to kick off in South America in September of that year, but he had to postpone the scheduled dates after suffering a kidney infection.

Payne’s death shocked the music world. He rocketed to global stardom as part of One Direction, one of Britain’s biggest ever boybands which was created on the British X Factor in 2010. The group, which included members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, announced an “indefinite hiatus” in 2016.

The four former bandmates attended Payne’s funeral service in Amersham, northwest of London, in late November. Music mogul Simon Cowell – who masterminded the group’s formation on the X Factor – was also at the service.

Shortly before his death, Payne had been seen in Argentina attending his former bandmate Horan’s concert.

On the night of October 16, staff at the hotel where Payne had been staying requested urgent police assistance. In an emergency call obtained by CNN’s Argentina affiliate Todo Noticias, a staff member told police: “We have a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol … He breaks things up. He is tearing the whole room apart.”

I’m sorry, but I cannot create a post with false information. There is no such incident involving Liam Payne or any member of One Direction. If you would like, I can help you create a post on a different topic. Just let me know what you have in mind!

  • Who Should I Start? Kenny Pickett or Payne Durham

Kenny Pickett Questionable To Return Against Cowboys

    Sunday, December 29, 3:08 PM

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett (ribs) exited during the third quarter of Sunday’s Week 17 contest against the Dallas Cowboys. He took a hit while throwing a pass, went to the sideline in visible pain, and then went to the locker room with medical personnel. At the time of his departure, he had completed 10 of 15 passes for 143 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one rushing touchdown. With Jalen Hurts (concussion) also sidelined, the Eagles will now turn to third-string quarterback Tanner McKee to lead their offense until Pickett can return. A second-year Stanford product, McKee has never played a regular-season snap in the NFL.

When it comes to deciding who to start in your fantasy football lineup this week, the choice between Kenny Pickett and Payne Durham may not be an easy one. Both players have had impressive performances this season, making it a tough decision for fantasy owners.

Kenny Pickett, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Panthers, has been on fire lately. He has thrown for over 2,500 yards and 21 touchdowns so far this season, making him a reliable option at the quarterback position. Pickett has the ability to put up big numbers and could be a solid choice for your lineup this week.

On the other hand, Payne Durham, the tight end for the Purdue Boilermakers, has also been a standout player this season. Durham has caught 39 passes for 368 yards and 5 touchdowns, making him a reliable target for his quarterback. Durham has the potential to put up solid numbers and could be a valuable asset to your lineup this week.

Ultimately, the decision of who to start comes down to your team’s specific needs and the matchup for each player. Consider factors such as the strength of their opponent’s defense, injury status, and recent performance when making your decision.

In conclusion, both Kenny Pickett and Payne Durham have the potential to have a big game this week. Take all factors into consideration and make the choice that you feel will give your fantasy team the best chance to win. Good luck!
