Driver Reports of Damage
Shortly after filling, Jeep owner Scott Bauchmoyer informed WOIO that his vehicle broke down. “The car just began sputtering as I got in to start it up. A huge puff of white smoke appeared, and lights began to flash,” Bauchmoyer remarked.
After Bauchmoyer’s car was hauled to a dealership, workers found diesel fuel in the fuel lines and tank. He spent $1,100 on repairs, not including towing or a rented car. A Ford F350 driver who was also impacted reported serious damage. The vehicle is currently in the shop for repairs after being fuelled with unleaded fuel rather than diesel.
Circle K’s Response
Circle K admitted the mistake and called it a “cross drop,” in which fuels were sent to the incorrect subterranean storage tanks. After discovering the problem, the business promptly turned off the pumps at the site.
When Circle K said, “We guarantee and stand by the quality of our fuels. However, issues sometimes arise, and customers should report them as soon as possible to us for review by our claims department.” Since then, the business has replenished the impacted fuel and started up at the station again. Circle K is helping 14 clients with repair reimbursements and filing their claims.

Circle K advised impacted consumers to call 1-855-276-1947, their toll-free customer support number. “We will help them through the claims process, including the necessary documentation,” the business stated. “After reviewing and verifying the claim, we’ll reimburse customers for any repairs or associated costs related to this issue.”

Brent Crude futures fell 6 cents and touched $74.11 per barrel. Similarly, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) showed a down move of 8 cents and reached at $70.52 per barrel.
However, both the benchmarks Brent crude and US WTI increased about 1.4 per cent in the last week, bolstered by a major drop in U.S. oil stocks inventories during the week ending December 20. The drop happened because refineries were producing more fuel, and there was higher demand for fuel during the holiday season.
Oil prices were also boosted by positive expectations for China’s economic growth next year. This growth could lead to higher demand for oil, since China is the world’s biggest importer of crude oil. To help boost its economy, Chinese officials have decided to issue a large amount of special treasury bonds, totaling 3 trillion yuan ($411 billion) in 2025.
Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities said,”We expect crude oil prices to remain volatile in today’s session. Crude oil is having support at $69.75-69.10 and resistance is at $71.00-71.50 today’s session. In INR, crude oil has support at Rs 5,980-5,910 while resistance at Rs 6,120-6,180.”

Crude oil prices increased marginally on December 23, after the release of US economic data showing a slowdown in inflation. Similarly US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures climbed by 31 cents, or 0.5 per cent and reached $69.77 per barrel.
The report showed that monthly inflation slowed in November after showing little improvement in recent months. The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index rose 0.1 per cent last month after an unrevised 0.2 per cent gain in October.
Both oil benchmarks dropped by over 2 per cent last week, driven by concerns over global economic growth and oil demand after the U.S. central bank signaled a cautious approach toward further easing of monetary policy.

Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities said,”Crude oil prices showed very high price volatility and extended its fall in the early trading session but prices recovered from their lows after profit taking in the dollar index and geo-political tensions. The dollar index slipped from 2-year highs and supported crude oil prices at lower levels. Crude oil prices also recovered amid escalation of tensions between Russia-Ukraine over the weekend after Russia fired missiles on Kyiv.”
He added,”However, higher U.S. gasoline stocks and Chinese demand worries are restricting gains of crude oil. We expect crude oil prices to remain volatile in today’s session. Crude oil is having support at $69.15-68.60 and resistance is at $70.30-71.00 today’s session. In INR crude oil has support at Rs 5,880-5,820 while resistance at Rs 6,020-6,100.”
