One player in NFL history has already pulled off a Super Bowl three-peat: Chiefs aiming to match this legend
NEW ORLEANS — The Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to make NFL history on Super Bowl Sunday. If they can beat the Philadelphia Eagles, that will make the Chiefs the first team in league history to win three Super Bowls in a row.
Although it’s an unprecedented team feat, the three-peat has actually been accomplished before by a player. That’s right: Since the first Super Bowl was played in January 1967, there has been exactly ONE player who has managed to win three Super Bowls in a row, and that player is Ken Norton Jr.
The former NFL linebacker played in the NFL for 13 years and during the early 1990s, Norton had the wildest postseason run in league history. Here’s a look at how he did:
1992: Cowboys beat Bills in Super Bowl XXVII
1993: Cowboys beat Bills in Super Bowl XXVIII
1994: 49ers beat Chargers in Super Bowl XXIXNorton started his career in Dallas after the Cowboys selected him as a second-round pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. Although the Cowboys were terrible during his first two seasons with the team, Jimmy Johnson quickly got them turned around and they were in the Super Bowl by 1992. Not only did they trounce the Bills 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII, but they returned the next year and beat up on Buffalo again in a 30-13 win.
Prisco’s 2025 Super Bowl pick: In Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs we trust; QB leads game-winning drive vs. Eagles
Pete Prisco
After the 1993 season, Norton moved on to San Francisco and he was right back in the big game while playing for a 49ers team that destroyed the Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX. That’s three Super Bowl wins by an average 25 points per game, which is about as dominant as it gets.
Norton’s unbelievable run ended in 1995 when the 49ers got knocked out of the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers in a 27-17 divisional-round loss. Norton ended up playing in the NFL until retiring in 2000.
He actually ended up winning another Super Bowl ring as a member of Seattle’s coaching staff after the Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII with a dominant 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos. Th 58-year-old Norton also won a national championship as an assistant coach at USC in 2004.
If he’s going to add another Super Bowl ring to his résumé anytime soon, it’s going to come in Washington where Norton is currently the linebackers coach for the Commanders.
If the Chiefs win on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and 27 other players will join Norton on the list of people who have pulled off a three-peat.
One player who deserves honorable mention in the three-peat department is Russ Hochstein. The former NFL offensive lineman played for the Buccaneers in 2002, but got cut in October, just three months before Tampa Bay would go on to win the Super Bowl. He then ended up with the Patriots and won a ring in both 2003 and 2004, so he played for three Super Bowl-winning teams in a row, but he wasn’t around for the Bucs’ win over the Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, so he only got two rings in that span.
In the history of the NFL, only one player has achieved the remarkable feat of winning three consecutive Super Bowls. That player is none other than Charles Haley, who accomplished this incredible feat with the San Francisco 49ers in the late 1980s and early 1990s.Now, the Kansas City Chiefs are aiming to match this legendary achievement as they head into the upcoming season with their sights set on a third consecutive Super Bowl victory. Led by superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and a talented roster, the Chiefs have the potential to etch their names in the history books alongside Charles Haley.
With the new season on the horizon, all eyes will be on the Chiefs as they strive to make history and solidify their place among the greatest teams in NFL history. Will they be able to pull off the elusive Super Bowl three-peat and join the ranks of legends like Charles Haley? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – the Chiefs are determined to leave their mark on the NFL record books.

Every player on Cavs roster showed up for Max Strus’ charity event last night
CLEVELAND — When Cleveland Cavaliers swingman Max Strus grew up in Chicago, Illinois, he became familiar with an event the Chicago Bears held where players would bowl with groups of fans whose ticket sales to the event would be donated to charities. Strus decided to put his own spin on that here in Cleveland, hosting his Bowl in the Land event on Monday evening.
Through his Max Strus Family Foundation, Strus held his bowling event at Corner Alley downtown. Groups bought their tickets for the event, and down all 12 bowling alley lanes, they got to interact with the Cavs.
That’s because Strus’ teammates showed up in full force. All his Cavaliers teammates were in attendance, splitting up between the groups. From Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, and everyone in between, the Cavs spent the evening at the lanes. Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson, president of basketball operations Koby Altman and nearly all of Cleveland’s staff made it out for the event.
Having that kind of support—a day after the team played a record-breaking game against the Dallas Mavericks and one day before their highly-anticipated matchup against the Boston Celtics—meant the world to Strus.
“Every player is here; I couldn’t be more appreciative. We had a game yesterday, we play tomorrow, and to have an event tonight was probably not the best scheduling,” Strus said. “But nobody complained, nobody had any worries about it. They’re all here. They’re all here to support and, like I said that just shows you who they are as people. We’re having a great year on the court, but it’s just an honor to be teammates with these guys and to show everybody else who they are as people because they are truly special people.”
The money raised from the event will go towards several Northeast Ohio charities to be named soon. For Strus, giving back to the city he now calls home is the least he said he could do, appreciative of the support Cavs fans have shown all season long.
“The amount of respect we have in the city and the amount the fans show up for us and the support that we have constantly at every game, no matter what time of the day or night—it feels like every game is sold out and they’re always supporting us, so to be able to have that just makes this even more of something I want to do,” he said. “I just want to give that back and be supportive of them because of how much love they’ve shown us.”
With support from his team and fans, Strus is excited to give back. But as his foundation’s name indicates, he couldn’t do it without the support of his family. His parents, brother, sister and close friends made it to Cleveland for the event.
“My family is everything and I treat that not very lightly. My family is just the world,” Strus said. “They flew in here yesterday; they’re driving home. The amount of effort they’ve put in just to support me, it’s really hard to put into words. I’m just so grateful to have them to become the man that I am today.”
We Follow Through
Want us to continue to follow through on a story? Let us know.
Last night, every player on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster came out to support teammate Max Strus at his charity event. The event, which raised funds for underprivileged youth in the Cleveland community, was a huge success thanks to the overwhelming support from Strus’ teammates. It was truly heartwarming to see the entire Cavs team come together to give back to those in need. From signing autographs to taking photos with fans, the players went above and beyond to show their support for Strus and his cause.
This display of camaraderie and generosity is a true testament to the strong bond and camaraderie among the Cavs players. It’s moments like these that remind us of the positive impact athletes can have on their communities and the importance of giving back.
Thank you to Max Strus and the entire Cleveland Cavaliers team for showing us what true teamwork and compassion look like. Here’s to many more successful charity events in the future! #CavsGivingBack #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork

Fulham Eyeing Former Player who Marco Silva ‘Loves’
Fulham are being linked with a move to sign free-agent and former player Willian, and according to GIVEMESPORT sources, he still has good relations with the club after his time at Craven Cottage.
Willian left Olympiacos back in December, terminating his contract, meaning he’s available to join a new club for free. As a result of his free-agent status, Willian will be able to join a new side after the transfer window has closed.
Willian is ‘Loved’ by Marco Silva
Fulham are being linked with a move
According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Willian still has good relations with Fulham after his time at Craven Cottage. Silva ‘loves’ the Brazilian, and with him being a free agent, Fulham could add attacking cover with Reiss Nelson and Harry Wilson picking up injuries.
GIVEMESPORT understands that Fulham have also made checks on AC Milan attacker Samuel Chukwueze to discover his condition and motivation after he was touted around the Premier League. Everton were also offered the player in the past week as they looked to see if there was any interest in the attacker.
GIVEMESPORT sources have also confirmed that Fulham are eyeing a late move to bring in a new right-back before the window slams shut, but we’re edging very close to the deadline. It could be a busy end to the window for the Cottagers as they look to get a few deals over the line.

MLB fires umpire Pat Hoberg for sharing betting accounts with pro poker player who bet on baseball
Major League Baseball has fired umpire Pat Hoberg after he shared sports betting accounts with a professional poker player who bet on baseball.
In a news release, the league said it found no evidence Hoberg manipulated baseball games, and said that “the data provided by the sportsbooks does not show any baseball bets from his own electronic devices.” However, the league found Hoberg deleted messages that were central to its investigation.
The league initially fired Hoberg on May 31 last year. Hoberg then appealed the process, which called for a “neutral factfinder” to be brought in.
GO DEEPER
MLB umpire Pat Hoberg disciplined for violating gambling rules
However, per the umpires’ collective bargaining agreement, the ultimate ruling on the appeal rested with commissioner Rob Manfred.
“The strict enforcement of Major League Baseball’s rules governing sports betting conduct is a critical component of upholding our most important priority: protecting the integrity of our games for the fans,” Manfred said in a statement. “An extensive investigation revealed no evidence that Mr. Hoberg placed bets on baseball directly or that he or anyone else manipulated games in any way. However, his extremely poor judgment in sharing betting accounts with a professional poker player he had reason to believe bet on baseball and who did, in fact, bet on baseball from the shared accounts, combined with his deletion of messages, creates at minimum the appearance of impropriety that warrants imposing the most severe discipline. Therefore, there is just cause to uphold Mr. Hoberg’s termination for failing to conform to high standards of personal conduct and to maintain the integrity of the game of baseball.”
Hoberg can apply for reinstatement in spring training 2026 at the earliest.
“I take full responsibility for the errors in judgment that are outlined in today’s statement,” Hoberg said in a statement. “Those errors will always be a source of shame and embarrassment to me. Major League Baseball umpires are held to a high standard of personal conduct, and my own conduct fell short of that standard. That said, to be clear, I have never and would never bet on baseball in any way, shape, or form. I have never provided, and would never provide, information to anyone for the purpose of betting on baseball. Upholding the integrity of the game has always been of the utmost importance to me.
“I apologize to Major League Baseball and the entire baseball community for my mistakes,” Hoberg’s statement read. “I vow to learn from them and to be a better version of myself moving forward.”
The umpires’ union released their own statement on the matter. “We thank Commissioner Manfred for his careful consideration of Pat Hoberg’s appeal,” the umpires’ statement read. “As Major League Baseball umpires, we have devoted our professional lives to upholding the rules and integrity of the game. If our union believed that an umpire bet on baseball, we would never defend him. But as today’s statement from the League makes clear, the neutral factfinder did not find that Pat placed bets on baseball. Yet we respect Pat’s unequivocal acceptance of responsibility for the mistakes that led to his termination.”
Hoberg became a full-time major-league umpire in 2017, and started working games professionally in 2009, according to MLB’s umpires media guide. The tracking site umpscorecards.com gave Hoberg a perfect score for a game he worked behind the plate during the 2022 World Series.
MLB disciplined Hoberg under a provision in the umpires’ CBA that broadly requires umpires to “maintain the integrity of the international game of baseball” on the field, as opposed to the sport’s famed Rule 21, which specifically addresses gambling.
The league opened an investigation into Hoberg in February 2024, when a sportsbook notified the commissioner’s office Hoberg had opened an account on Jan. 30.
Sports gambling, which MLB and other professional sports leagues have embraced via sponsorship arrangements, has also produced significant controversy inside sports. Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter to Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday for stealing nearly $17 million from Ohtani to pay gambling debts.

Breaking News: MLB fires umpire Pat Hoberg for sharing betting accounts with pro poker player who bet on baseballIn a shocking turn of events, Major League Baseball has announced the firing of umpire Pat Hoberg for his involvement in sharing betting accounts with a professional poker player who placed bets on baseball games.
The league conducted a thorough investigation and found that Hoberg had violated MLB’s strict policy against gambling on baseball, as well as the code of conduct for umpires. It was discovered that Hoberg had been providing inside information to the poker player, who then used that information to place bets on games.
This scandal has rocked the baseball world, as the integrity of the game is of utmost importance to the league and its fans. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred issued a statement condemning Hoberg’s actions and emphasizing that any form of gambling on baseball by umpires or players will not be tolerated.
Hoberg, who had been a respected umpire in the league for many years, has been banned from ever working in MLB again. The league is also considering legal action against the poker player involved in the scandal.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of jeopardizing the integrity of the game, and MLB is committed to upholding the highest standards of fairness and transparency. Fans can rest assured that measures are in place to prevent any further breaches of the rules and to protect the integrity of America’s pastime.

Cristiano Ronaldo turns 40 next week but his advancing age hasn’t dimmed his famous competitive instinct.
He has scored 20 goals in 23 appearances for Al Nassr this season and remains a regular starter for the Portuguese national team. But his age is undoubtedly catching up with him and CR7’s son has reportedly told his dad that’s he’s no longer No. 1.
Speaking in an interview this week, Ronaldo revealed which player his son Mateo believes is the best in the world.
“Mateo, he really likes Mbappé,” Ronaldo explained. “He sometimes tells me: ‘Hey dad, Mbappé is better than you,’ and I reply by saying: ‘No, I am better than him, I have scored more goals.”

Kylian Mbappé has been viewed as Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term replacement for Real Madrid.FRANCK FIFEAFP Mbappé has made no secret of that fact that Ronaldo was his hero growing up, one of the main reasons why he coveted a move to Real Madrid in his career. The Frenchman has not looked entirely comfortable during his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu but a recent purple patch of form has put him on track for a very respectable goals tally.
With a hat-trick last weekend Mbappé is now on 15 LaLiga goals in his first season with the club, 22 goals in all competitions. CR7 hit 33 goals in his first season in Madrid, although injury restricted him to just 35 appearances in all competitions.
If Mbappé stays fit this campaign he could still catch Ronaldo’s goal tally from his debut season in the Spanish capital. Is that likely to make Ronaldo concede that the Frenchman is now his equal? Unlikely.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s son has made a bold statement by naming his favorite player, and it’s not who you might expect. In a recent interview, Ronaldo’s son revealed that he looks up to Lionel Messi as his favorite player.Despite his father’s status as one of the greatest footballers of all time, it seems that Ronaldo’s son has developed a fondness for his father’s long-time rival. The young football fan praised Messi’s skill and talent on the pitch, calling him “the best player in the world.”
While some may be surprised by this revelation, it’s clear that Ronaldo’s son is not afraid to go against the norm and choose his own favorite player. Perhaps this is a sign of the changing times in football, where loyalty and admiration are not always tied to family ties.
Regardless of his son’s choice, Cristiano Ronaldo remains a legend in the sport and continues to inspire fans around the world. It will be interesting to see how this playful rivalry between father and son plays out in the years to come.

Angel Reese made some history Saturday night, becoming the first player ejected from an Unrivaled game.
Reese, playing for her Rose Basketball Club in the new 3×3 women’s basketball league, was ejected after receiving back-to-back technical fouls in the second quarter of her team’s game against the Laces. A referee called Reese for a foul while she was guarding Tiffany Hayes, who fell to the floor while dribbling toward the basket.
After the call, Reese repeatedly waved her hand in the direction of both the official on the baseline who made the call and Hayes. The official — appearing to think the motion was directed at him — called the first technical foul. Reese was then handed the second tech after arguing with the officials.
The WNBA star took to social media after the game, which the Rose won 83-69, writing a series of posts on X about the incident. “Free me,” she wrote in one post, commenting on a video of her after the ejection. In another: “Happy (Black History Month). Y’all know I had to be the first.”
Happy BHM. yall know i had to be the first
— Angel Reese (@Reese10Angel) February 2, 2025
Reese had 15 rebounds, six points and three assists in seven minutes before the ejection. Chelsea Gray, who had 28 points, eight assists and three rebounds, was named the Player of the Game.
Unrivaled’s season takes place during the WNBA offseason as an option for players to expand their games. The league features 36 players (six players per team) and includes many of the top WNBA players, such as league co-founders Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, as well as Reese, who recently wrapped up her rookie season with the Chicago Sky.

How did the NBA’s tallest player fare against the Houston Rockets? (Jan. 30)
Zach Edey had an eventful night game when the Memphis Grizzlies took on the Houston Rockets and FedEx Forum on Thursday night in a vital Western Conference encounter.
The Grizzlies (31-16) are hot on the heels of the Rockets (32-14) who were nursing a 4-game winning streak going into the game. Zach Edey wasted little time in making his presence felt as he nailed a turnaround hook one minute into the game from 8′ out. The NBA’s tallest player used all of his 7-foot-4 frame when he scored next, dunking emphatically with six minutes left in the first quarter. After recording two assists and two rebounds as well, he was subbed out with 03:28 left in the initial period.
Edey was subbed in with 08:35 remaining before the half and did not make much of an impact on the box score. An errant pass and a personal foul later, he was subbed out again, with 04:11 still left on the game clock before the interval.
•
Things did not get much better for Edey as he got into foul trouble early in third quarter and picked up his third personal foul after a brief tangle with Steven Adams. Shortly after he was denied at the rim. He returned late in the third and sank one of two free throws to take his overall points tally to five points.
Zach Edey did not trouble the scorers in the fourth period as a the game wound down to a fascinating end. Down by eight points with six minutes remaining in the final period, the Grizzlies mounted a furious rally that ended with Jaren Jackson Jr. sinking two clutch free throws to win the game 120-119.
Zach Edey selected in NBA Rising Stars Game
Zach Edey was one of 10 rookies named to the All-Star Weekend event, slated to be held in San Francisco Feb. 14 at the Chase Center followed by All-Star Saturday night on Feb. 15 and the All-Star Game on Feb. 16. Rising Stars will begin at 9 p.m. and be televised by TNT.
Edey who was named two-time consensus national player of the year at Purdue will face off against sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis who is also from his alma mater.
The Canadian Center has impressed NBA fans and teammates alike in his first season, averaging 9.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game on highly efficient shooting. With his firm but fair nature of physical play, he has earned the trust of his teammate Ja Morant who recently lauded him for his protective abilities,

Pistons player misses own bobblehead night due to suspension for flagrant fouls
Detroit Pistons fans were treated to a bobblehead giveaway of big man Isaiah Stewart Friday night.
But they were unable to see Stewart in action because he wasn’t allowed to play.
Stewart was suspended for flagrant fouls assessed throughout the season.

The NBA announced Friday that Stewart would be suspended for the night’s contest after he picked up a sixth flagrant foul point this season.
Stewart picked up a flagrant foul, which prompted an automatic ejection Wednesday after he checked an opponent, Thomas Bryant, when a shot went up.

Bryant had to be held back by his teammates, and Stewart almost immediately walked off the court.
The league announced the suspension, along with a $50,000 fine for Stewart for making “inappropriate and objectionable gestures” after his ejection Wednesday in the Pistons’ 133-119 loss to the Pacers in Indiana.
The gestures were likely the apparent finger guns he pointed at the Pistons bench.

Stewart entered the game with four flagrant foul points, so the call triggered the automatic suspension based on the league’s regular-season protocols.
Despite the suspension, the Pistons still gave out Stewart bobbleheads to 5,000 fans.
The Pistons have been a pleasant surprise this season. Their 23-24 record is good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference, which would put them in the play-in tournament.

The Detroit Pistons were set to honor one of their star players with his own bobblehead night, but unfortunately, he was unable to attend due to a suspension for flagrant fouls. The player, known for his aggressive style of play on the court, has been no stranger to controversy throughout his career. However, his recent string of flagrant fouls ultimately led to a suspension that coincided with the night dedicated to celebrating his contributions to the team.
Fans were disappointed to hear the news, as they were looking forward to receiving a bobblehead in the likeness of their beloved player. Despite the setback, the Pistons organization made the most of the situation by offering fans a voucher to redeem their bobbleheads at a later date.
While the player’s absence was certainly felt on his special night, it served as a reminder of the importance of playing the game with respect and sportsmanship. Hopefully, this suspension will serve as a learning experience for the player and he will return to the court with a renewed sense of responsibility.
