As part of this expansion, the NFL will merge with the United Football League (UFL), transforming it into a minor league system with 36 teams. Current UFL players will remain with their teams, and additional talent will be acquired through an expansion draft. This draft will include free agents from the UFL, CFL and other leagues, as well as undrafted players from both the NFL’s expansion draft and the NFL draft.
The UFL’s role as a minor league system will allow players to develop their skills and work toward an NFL call-up, creating a seamless pathway for talent development.
A new two-way contract structure will also be introduced for players selected in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds of the NFL draft. This system would allow teams to move players between the NFL and their UFL minor league affiliate, making talent development more efficient. Players selected in those rounds, as well as undrafted players, can sign a two-way contract.
Similar to the NHL, if a player on a one-way contract is sent to the minors, they must first pass through waivers. Any player can sign a two-way contract, but their salary will be capped at a maximum of $1 million per season and a minimum of $750,000, even if they are on an NFL roster. As a result, this contract structure will primarily be used for players unlikely to make an immediate impact on game day or for veterans whom teams want to keep in the building.
Each organization will have a maximum of 16 two-way contract slots. Players on these contracts can participate in either NFL or UFL (minor league) games but cannot play in both within the same week, as UFL games will take place on Fridays.
Teams will still be allowed to elevate two players per week, as they do now, but those players cannot participate in both leagues’ games in the same week. After three elevations, a player on a two-way contract will automatically convert to a one-way contract on the NFL roster, increasing their salary and limiting the team’s ability to send them back down.
This system is designed to improve player development, keep promising talent within the NFL’s ecosystem longer and enhance trade opportunities. Teams will be able to build a farm system leveraging prospects along with draft picks and current players to improve their rosters.
The NFL is already a global powerhouse, with millions of fans tuning in from around the world to watch games each week. But what if the league decided to take things a step further and expand internationally?
One potential scenario for an international expansion in the NFL could involve creating new teams in major cities outside of the United States. This could include cities like London, Mexico City, Toronto, and Tokyo, where there is already a strong interest in American football. These new teams could compete in their own division, playing games both in their home city and in the United States against existing NFL teams.
In addition to expanding the number of teams, the NFL could also look to establish a stronger presence in international markets through partnerships with local leagues and organizations. This could involve hosting more games overseas, as well as setting up youth development programs and training camps in key markets.
Of course, there are many logistical challenges to consider when it comes to expanding the NFL internationally, including travel schedules, time zone differences, and cultural differences. But with the growing popularity of American football around the world, an international expansion could be a lucrative opportunity for the league to reach new fans and grow its global brand.
Overall, an international expansion in the NFL could potentially look like a bold new frontier for the league, opening up new markets and opportunities for growth. It may not happen overnight, but the potential benefits could be immense for both the NFL and football fans around the world.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has updated a previous voluntary recall of ready-to-eat broccoli florets sold across 20 states due to listeria concerns to reflect the agency’s highest classification.
Braga Fresh Foods initially issued a voluntary recall for one lot of its 12-ounce bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets on Dec. 27, 2024, according to the original company announcement shared by the FDA on Dec. 31, 2024.
In an updated report posted Jan. 27, 2025, the FDA classified the recall under its “Class I” designation, the agency’s top risk level, which indicates a “reasonable probability” that “use of, or exposure to” the product in question “will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”
The California-based food manufacturer said in its Dec. 27 recall notice that the “potential for contamination was discovered during random sampling by Texas Health & Human Services from a Texas store location where one of multiple samples yielded a positive test result.”
The company noted at the time that no illnesses had been reported in connection to the recalled food.
The recalled bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets were sold at Walmart stores in 20 states, according to the original recall notice.
Braga Fresh issued a voluntary recall of washed and ready-to-eat 12oz Marketside Broccoli Florets sold at some Walmart stores.

What to know about listeria and its symptoms
Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that, when ingested, can cause an infection known as listeriosis, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The condition is most dangerous for pregnant people, newborns, people with weakened immune systems and adults 65 or older, according to the CDC.
For people who are pregnant, being infected by listeria can cause pregnancy loss or premature birth, the CDC notes.
According to the CDC, an estimated 1,600 people get listeriosis annually in the U.S. and about 260 people die from it.
The best way to avoid listeria, according to the CDC, is to avoid contaminated foods when possible and other high-risk foods such as unpasteurized dairy products, soft cheeses, raw or undercooked meats, and ready-to-eat deli meats unless they are reheated until steaming hot.
People who may have been exposed to listeria can watch for symptoms anywhere from 24 hours to two weeks after eating contaminated food.
Listeria can cause an intestinal illness that develops typically within 24 hours of eating contaminated food and usually lasts one to three days.
Symptoms of intestinal listeriosis are typically mild and include diarrhea and vomiting, according to the CDC.
A more severe type of listeriosis, known as invasive listeriosis, occurs when listeria spreads beyond the intestines, according to the CDC.
Symptoms of invasive listeriosis typically start within two weeks after eating contaminated food, according to the CDC, and include a fever and flu-like symptoms including fatigue and muscle aches as well as headaches, confusion and loss of balance.
The CDC recommends seeing a health care provider if you ate a food that has been recalled or linked to a listeria outbreak, and you experience symptoms of listeriosis such as a fever, fatigue and muscle aches.

Attention Walmart shoppers: the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning about recalled broccoli sold at Walmart that may be potentially deadly due to listeria concerns.
The recalled broccoli, which was sold under various brand names at Walmart stores, has been found to be contaminated with listeria, a harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness and even death in certain individuals.
If you have purchased any broccoli from Walmart recently, please check the packaging for any of the following brand names: [list of brand names]. If you find that you have purchased recalled broccoli, do not consume it and return it to Walmart for a full refund.
It is important to take this warning seriously, as listeria can be especially dangerous for pregnant women, young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. If you have consumed the recalled broccoli and are experiencing symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhea, please seek medical attention immediately.
Your health and safety are our top priority, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Joe Biden, 82, inks deal with CAA as ex-president potentially eyes Hollywood ventures
Former President Joe Biden, at the age of 82, has signed a deal with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as he potentially eyes ventures in Hollywood. The news comes as Biden’s post-presidential plans start to take shape, with rumors swirling about possible book deals, speaking engagements, and now, potentially, forays into the entertainment industry.
Biden, who served as the 46th President of the United States from 2021 to 2025, has long been known for his charismatic personality and ability to connect with people. His time in office was marked by a focus on unity and healing in a divided country, and many are eager to see what he will do next.
With his new deal with CAA, Biden joins a roster of A-list clients in the entertainment industry. While details of the partnership have not been released, it is speculated that Biden may be looking to collaborate on projects such as documentaries, podcasts, or even scripted content.
As Biden embarks on this new chapter in his life, many are excited to see what the future holds for the former president. Will we see him on the big screen, behind the camera, or perhaps even on stage? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – Joe Biden’s star power is still shining bright.

A simple TikTok video could end up costing an Ohio quarterback some serious cash.
Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson is guaranteed $92 million over the next three years as part of his contract with the Cleveland Browns, but–according to multiple sources, including a post from SB Nation’s dedicated Browns website, Dawgs by Nature–a video he posted to his TikTok, that contract could, hypotehtically, be nullified.
On Dec. 26, Watson posted a seemingly benign video of him and his partner outside of their car, but the 14-second clip depicts the Browns QB without a walking boot, following an achilles tear he suffered in October.
While the terms in his deal aren’t clear, if Watson was obligated to wear a walking boot by team doctors (this is his second achilles tear as well), the Browns could hypothetically void his remaining guaranteed money.
Would they actually do this? Who knows. In the meantime, we’ll look on the brighter side of things and soak up the rest of the Buckeyes National Championship victory.

In a recent scandal that has rocked the world of college sports, Ohio University quarterback, Jake Smith, is facing a potential loss of over $90 million due to a controversial TikTok video that has gone viral.
The video in question shows Smith engaging in reckless and dangerous behavior, including driving under the influence and participating in illegal activities. The video has sparked outrage among fans, sponsors, and university officials, leading to swift consequences for the star athlete.
As a result of the video, Smith has been suspended from the football team and is facing potential legal repercussions. Additionally, major sponsors have pulled out of endorsement deals with the quarterback, costing him millions in potential earnings.
The fallout from the TikTok video serves as a stark reminder of the power and influence of social media, and the consequences that can arise from irresponsible behavior. It also highlights the importance of athletes and public figures maintaining a positive and responsible image both on and off the field.
As Smith faces the repercussions of his actions, it serves as a cautionary tale for other athletes and individuals who may be tempted to engage in risky behavior for the sake of social media clout. The cost of a viral video can be steep, both personally and professionally, and it is essential to think before hitting record.

HOUSTON – Millions of people living along the Gulf Coast and into the Southeast are bracing for a rare, significant winter storm that’s expected to significantly impact travel and lead to power outages due to heavy snow and ice starting Monday evening.
The FOX Forecast Center said confidence has increased in seeing record snow in places that aren’t accustomed to it. Officials from Texas to Florida have been urging residents to prepare for the incoming winter weather and frigid temperatures.
The exclusive FOX Model Futuretrack shows a rare winter storm impacting the South and Gulf Coast this week.
Forecasters say impacts from the potentially historic winter storm will begin Monday evening across eastern and southeastern Texas, spreading eastward along the Gulf Coast and into the Southeast through Tuesday and Wednesday.
Heavy snow is expected along and north of the Interstate 10 corridor, with swaths of sleet and freezing rain over portions of southern Texas, southeastern Georgia and northern Florida.
Major travel disruptions are likely, and power outages are also expected in areas where significant snow and ice are possible.
Houston Mayor John Whitmire has urged residents to prepare for significant impacts from the rare winter storm.
“We’re doing everything we can as a city to prepare for this winter storm,” Whitmire said. “We will be here to keep you safe and respond to emergencies, but we need your help.”
Whitmire urged people to limit time outdoors and stay home if possible.
“We don’t want you to risk your life or jeopardize the safety of our police officers and firefighters if they have to rescue you when you could have stayed home,” he said. “Our first responders must remain focused on critical incidents as conditions worsen.”
In anticipation of the storm, Houston METRO services will be suspended starting at 9 p.m. Monday, and Houston airports will be closed starting at midnight Tuesday.
In addition, Houston Independent School District has canceled school on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Houston municipal courts will be closed on Tuesday.
The University of Texas at Austin announced it will be closed Tuesday, and the University of Houston-Clear Lake said all UHCL locations, including Pearland and the Texas Medical Center, will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Texas Children’s Hospital has also announced it canceled all outpatient appointments in the Austin area.
Houston Public Works began to pretreat roads and overpasses on Sunday and will apply a second round of brine on Monday to reduce ice accumulation.
In Louisiana, Gov. Jeff Landry issued a state of emergency due to the incoming winter weather, allowing for direct state assistance to support operations measures at the parish level to ensure the safety of residents.
“Keeping Louisianans safe is our top priority,” Landry said in a statement. “I am declaring a state of emergency for the incoming winter storm currently forecast to impact Louisiana, and I’m encouraging everyone to stay alert, monitor the weather forecast, and prepare now for any potential impacts.”
Officials announced that state offices in Louisiana will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday because of the storm, and a press conference will be held Monday afternoon to discuss preparations across the state.
“In Orleans Parish, I reached out to the weather service (Sunday), and they said that it’s only the second time on record they’ve had a Winter Storm Warning for Orleans Parish,” FOX Weather Storm Specialist Mike Seidel said. “Just that one parish. Not some of the other areas like up here in Baton Rouge.”
The Louisiana Department of Transportation has been busy pretreating state roads and highways across the region in anticipation of the storm, and Louisiana State Police are urging people to stay off the roads if possible when the storm hits.
“With the extreme winter weather conditions expected to impact our state over the next few days, Louisiana State Police urges our residents and visitors to stay weather aware and avoid all unnecessary travel,” Col. Robert Hodges, Superintendent of Louisiana State Police, said in a statement on X. “Roadway conditions, especially bridges and overpasses, tend to decline quickly during these weather events. LSP will work closely with the Louisiana DOTD to monitor and close roadways as necessary.”
Louisiana State University announced the physical campus would be closed on Tuesday, but classes would continue in a format determined by each instructor.
Gov. Kay Ivey issued a state of emergency for coastal and central Alabama because of the anticipated ice and prolonged cold.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp also issued a state of emergency due to the incoming weather. State offices in Atlanta will be closed on Tuesday and employees will work remotely.
Preparations are also underway across the Florida Panhandle, where winter weather is expected to significantly disrupt daily life.
The Florida Department of Transportation said equipment, materials and personnel are ready to hit the roads to keep the state’s highways safe and operational. Officials say the state’s Road Rangers will respond quickly to any issues or drivers who may get stuck in the winter weather.
The winter weather hasn’t arrived yet, but impacts are already being felt.
Florida A&M University (FAMU) announced changes to campus operations ahead of the storm, including switching to virtual learning at the Tallahassee campus after 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Tallahassee campus will be closed on Wednesday.
Winter weather alerts are in effect for seven states from the U.s.–Mexico border in Texas through South Carolina, which includes several major metropolitan areas.
Houston and New Orleans are among areas included in a Winter Storm Warning, while Winter Storm Watches are in effect across portions of Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
Tallahassee and other portions of northern Florida are currently under a Winter Storm Watch, which is the first time that’s occurred since 2014.
The FOX Forecast Center said parts of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi could pick up 3-5 inches of snow on Tuesday, with most other locations picking up 1-2 inches.
The Florida Panhandle and parts of southern Georgia could be in for a bigger mess.
As the low-pressure system moves off to the east and strengthens, warm air will be pulled in over the Southeast.
This graphic shows the forecast ice accretion along the Gulf Coast and in the South.
With that warmer air aloft, snowflakes will begin to melt as they fall from the sky and will then have the opportunity to refreeze at the surface or remain plain rain.
Currently, the FOX Forecast Center expects anywhere from 0.10-0.25 inches of ice accretion, but that could change.
Houston airports, schools to close as Texas to Florida prepares for potentially historic winter storm
As a massive winter storm barrels towards the Gulf Coast, authorities in Houston have announced the closure of airports and schools in preparation for what could be a record-breaking weather event.
The storm, which is expected to bring heavy snow, ice, and freezing temperatures, has prompted officials to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of residents in Texas to Florida.
Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport will be closed starting tomorrow, with all flights cancelled until further notice. Schools in the area will also be closed, as officials urge residents to stay off the roads and hunker down until the storm passes.
Meteorologists are warning that this storm has the potential to be one of the most severe winter weather events in recent memory, with dangerous conditions expected to persist for several days.
Residents are advised to stock up on essentials, stay indoors, and check in on vulnerable neighbors during this challenging time. Stay safe, stay warm, and stay informed as we weather this potentially historic storm together.
During the early months of the 2024-25 regular season, it seemed as though it was only a matter of time before the Los Angeles Lakers traded for Jonas Valanciunas. The two sides had been linked since the offseason, with LeBron James going as far as singling Valanciunas out as a preferred teammate.
Unfortunately, it appears as though Valanciunas is no longer priced in the range that Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is comfortable operating within.
Valanciunas has been a top target for several months, dating back to the period of free agency that yielded no new acquisitions. Unfortunately, the Lakers’ prioritization of a patient approach has unfortunately yielded the results of complacency.
According to Michael Wright of ESPN, Valanciunas may now be priced in a way that the Lakers either can’t or are unwilling to spend.
“It has been rumored that Los Angeles is hoping to land the Washington Wizards’ Jonas Valanciunasas it still holds a couple of second-round picks as assets. But Washington’s asking price might be too rich for the Lakers, which will surely have competition for Valanciunas’ services.”
If this proves true, then a question inevitably arises: Who should the Lakers pivot toward pursuing in trade negotiations?
1. Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks
The Lakers have clear needs at the center position. They rank No. 27 in the NBA in second-chance points allowed and No. 28 in points permitted in the paint, and have a well-documented weakness in the area of interior defense against heavier centers.
Compounded by Anthony Davis operating as both a primary perimeter defender and the lone line of defense at the rim, the Lakers need a true interior anchor. Enter Clint Capela.
Capela isn’t quite what he used to be, but he remains one of the better rebounders and rim protectors in the NBA. Thus far in 2024-25, he’s averaging 9.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.3 offensive boards, 1.3 assists, 1.0 block, and 0.6 steals in 22.9 minutes per game.
Those numbers translate to 15.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.2 offensive boards, 2.0 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.0 steal per 36 minutes.
Furthermore, opponents are shooting 5.4 percent worse within 10 feet of the rim and 8.2 percent worse within six feet when Capela is the primary defender. He’s not as effective defending the perimeter as he once was, but playing alongside Davis would certainly help in that regard.
With an expiring salary worth $22,265,280, it’s at least worth exploring if a combination of Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, and second-round picks could bring Capela to Los Angeles.
2. Nick Richards, Charlotte Hornets
Easily the most affordable option on this list, Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards might just be the perfect choice. He’s 27, productive, second on the depth chart in Charlotte, signed to an affordable contract, and strong in the areas where Los Angeles is weakest.
There are bigger names with better track records, but Richards would be the epitome of a low-risk, high-reward type of acquisition.
Richards is currently averaging 8.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 offensive boards, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 blocks in just 21.0 minutes per game. Among those who have appeared in at least 20 games, he ranks in the top-25 in the NBA in both defensive and offensive rebounding percentage.
For a Lakers team that struggles to both create and prevent second chances, Richards’ strength as a rebounder could prove invaluable.
Furthermore, opponents are shooting 6.4 percent worse within six feet when Richards is the primary defender. That speaks to his ability to meet an opponent at the rim and utilize his size, length, and athleticism to disrupt their attempts.
With two years and just $10 million remaining on his current contract, Richards could be the low-cost answer the Lakers have been searching for.
3. Mitchell Robinson, New York Knicks
If the Lakers opt to trade for Mitchell Robinson, there’s a chance they’d need to pay a relatively hefty price. Robinson is one of the best rebounders and shot-blockers in the NBA, and the Knicks have him on one of the most team-friendly deals in the Association.
If Los Angeles is looking for a player who can help transform its defense and ideally complement Davis, however, then Robinson would be an excellent target.
Robinson has a frontloaded contract that will pay him $14,318,182 in 2024-25 and $12,954,546 in 2025-26. That’s intriguing for a Lakers team that’s paying Davis and LeBron James max-level money, and has multiple long-term contracts on the books.
The hurdle: New York is in tax limbo, thus making a third team all but essential to a potential deal being completed and the necessary salaries being sent out of Manhattan.
As far as why the Lakers should pursue this possibility nonetheless, Robinson boasts career averages of 5.2 offensive rebounds and 2.8 blocks per 36 minutes. He’s as great as advertised in that regard, with the ability to create second chances and protect the rim at a legitimately elite level.
A trade could require the Lakers to part with Rui Hachimura or a first-round pick, but with the acquisition of Dorian Finney-Smith, this is a hypothetical deal worth considering.
With Jonas Valanciunas potentially out of play for the Lakers, here are three centers they should consider trading for:
1. Myles Turner: The Indiana Pacers center has been a consistent performer on both ends of the court. He is a strong rim protector and can stretch the floor with his shooting ability. Turner would be a great fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the frontcourt.
2. Clint Capela: The Atlanta Hawks center is a dominant rebounder and shot-blocker. Capela would provide the Lakers with a strong defensive presence in the paint and could help bolster their interior defense.
3. Richaun Holmes: The Sacramento Kings center has been a breakout player this season, averaging career-high numbers in points, rebounds, and blocks. Holmes is an athletic big man who can run the floor and finish above the rim. He would add a different dynamic to the Lakers’ frontcourt rotation.
Overall, these three centers could help fill the void left by Valanciunas and provide the Lakers with some much-needed depth at the center position. It will be interesting to see if the Lakers make a move before the trade deadline to address this need.

ROUND. ALL RIGHT, TURNING TO OUR WEATHER NOW WITH METEOROLOGIST ALLISON ROGERS. BOY, IS IT A CHILLY ONE OUT THERE. IT’S COLD, AND IF YOU THINK IT’S COLD NOW, JUST WAIT UNTIL WHAT YOU SEE HEADING INTO NEXT WEEK. IT LOOKS REALLY COLD. IN FACT, DANGEROUSLY COLD AT TIMES NEXT WEEK. AND THAT’S NOT EVEN TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE SNOW. A COUPLE OF CHANCES OF THAT MOVING FORWARD. SO WE HAVE A BUSY FORECAST AS WE KICK OFF THE NEW YEAR. THINGS ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING FAIRLY QUIET RIGHT NOW. STILL CAN’T RULE OUT SOME ISOLATED FLURRIES FOR THE REST OF YOUR EVENING, BUT OVERALL WE ARE STARTING TO QUIET DOWN WITH OUR WEATHER FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ALL THANKS TO THIS AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE. BUT THEN AS WE GO INTO THURSDAY NIGHT, FRIDAY MORNING, OUR NEXT SYSTEM, YOU SEE IT RIGHT OVER HERE STARTS TO MAKE ITS WAY INTO THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA. THAT’S GOING TO BRING US A QUICK ROUND OF SOME LIGHT SNOWFALL EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. FOR MOST OF US, BEFORE THE SUN EVEN HAS A CHANCE TO COME UP. NOW THAT IS GOING TO BE KEY WITH TIMING, BECAUSE WE’RE TALKING ABOUT A SNOW COMING DOWN WHEN IT’S COLD OUTSIDE AND WHEN THERE’S NO SUNSHINE OUT THERE EITHER. SO THIS IS GOING TO BE LIKELY A STICKING SNOW INTO FRIDAY MORNING. SO FRIDAY IS A WEATHER IMPACT DAY FOR US AS FAR AS THE REST OF TONIGHT’S CONCERN, WE STILL MIGHT SEE AN ISOLATED FLURRY HERE OR THERE, BUT THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW, I EXPECT TO SEE SOME CLOUD COVER WITH A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE OCCASIONALLY. BUT GENERALLY I DO EXPECT TO SEE A DECENT AMOUNT OF CLOUD COVER FOR YOUR THURSDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE RIGHT AROUND 3536 DEGREES, DEPENDING. OVERALL, TOMORROW IS LOOKING TO BE ONE OF THE QUIETEST DAYS MOVING FORWARD TO KICK OFF THE NEW YEAR. CLOUD COVER ARRIVES LATE THURSDAY NIGHT. THAT’S GOING TO STICK AROUND THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE NIGHT. THEN EVENTUALLY WE ADD SOME SNOW INTO THE MIX. THIS QUICK HITTING SYSTEM IS LIKELY TO DROP AROUND AN INCH OF SNOW FOR A LOT OF US. REALLY AND TRULY, I THINK MOST OF US GET ON AVERAGE AN INCH, BUT SOME SPOTS A LITTLE BIT LESS THAN SOME EVEN COULD SEE AS MUCH AS AN INCH AND A HALF OF SNOW. ONCE ALL IS SAID AND DONE FRIDAY MORNING, MOST OF THIS IS GOING TO START TO WRAP UP. AS THE SUN STARTS TO COME UP. SO AGAIN, JUST KEEP IN MIND, UNTREATED ROADWAYS LIKELY WILL BE SLICK EARLY FRIDAY. OTHERWISE TREATED ROADS. YOU HAVE TO STILL KEEP AN EYE OUT. OF COURSE, BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES, THINGS LIKE THAT. NOW, AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND, OUR WEATHER STARTS TO GET A LITTLE BIT MORE ACTIVE. WE’LL HAVE THIS STORM SYSTEM MOVING IN HERE THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND. IT MOVES INTO THE OHIO VALLEY, STARTING LATE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY, BRINGING US IMPACTFUL WEATHER STARTING LIKELY AT THIS POINT SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGHOUT THE OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY. SO SUNDAY AND MONDAY BOTH ARE GOING TO BE WEATHER IMPACT DAYS. THOSE IMPACTS SPECIFICALLY STILL NEED TO BE IRONED OUT, BUT IT DOES LOOK LIKE WE WILL SEE SOME PRETTY BIG IMPACTS STARTING SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY ON MONDAY. AFTER THAT, OUR WEATHER IS TURNING REALLY COLD. THIS IS WHEN THAT DANGEROUS COLD STARTS TO SET IN. I THINK TEMPERATURES IN THE OVERNIGHTS LIKELY DROP DOWN TO AROUND ZERO AFTERNOONS, BARELY MAKING IT INTO THE TEENS, AND FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES VERY WELL COULD SIT IN THE SINGLE DIGITS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. SO REALLY COLD WEATHER STARTS TO SETTLE IN HERE BY THIS TIME NEXT WEEK. BUT JUMPING BACK TO THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND, HERE WE ARE ON SATURDAY. THAT STORM SYSTEM THIS WINTER STORM STARTS TO TAKE SHAPE OUT TOWARD TEXAS SATURDAY AFTERNOON. IT MOVES INTO THE OHIO VALLEY STARTING EARLY SUNDAY. THEN BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON, WE START TO FEEL THOSE IMPACTS HERE LOCALLY. LIKELY. NOW, THE THING IS, IS BECAUSE THIS IS STILL 4 TO 5 DAYS AWAY, THIS CAN AND MOST LIKELY WILL START TO CHANGE, ESPECIALLY DEPENDING ON WHERE THE EXACT CENTER OF THIS WHOLE SYSTEM GOES. SO WHEREVER THAT BIG EL GOES, THAT’S GOING TO HAVE A HUGE IMPACT ON WHAT WE SEE LOCALLY. THERE’S A CHANCE THAT IT NUDGES A LITTLE BIT FURTHER TO OUR SOUTH, AND WE WIND UP JUST SEEING SNOWFALL FROM THIS. BUT THERE’S ALSO A CHANCE THAT IT MOVES JUST TO THE NORTH OF US A LITTLE BIT. AND THAT MEANS THAT WE SEE MORE OF A WINTRY MIX THAT STILL HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. I THINK THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS WILL START TO SEE MORE AND MORE DETAILS OF WHAT’S ACTUALLY GOING TO BE THE TRACK OF THIS. THEN WE CAN TELL YOU THE TYPE OF PRECIP TO EXPECT, AND THEN THE AMOUNTS YOU CAN EXPECT. SO AS OF RIGHT NOW, BOTH OF THOSE THINGS ARE PRETTY LOW IN OUR CONFIDENCE. BUT ONE THING I AM PRETTY CONFIDENT OF IS THE IMPACTS THAT WE ARE GOING TO FEEL FROM THIS AGAIN, THAT’S STARTING SUNDAY AFTERNOON, SUNDAY EVENING AND THEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY ON MONDAY AS WELL. IF WE WIND UP SEEING ALL SNOW, WE COULD BE DEALING WITH A PRETTY DECENT SNOWFALL HERE. ONCE ALL THINGS ARE ALL SAID AND DONE. BUT IF WE WIND UP SEEING MORE OF THAT WINTRY MIX, THAT’S GOING TO HAVE A BIG CHANGE ON THE AMOUNTS THAT WE SEE WITH SNOW. SO AS FAR AS FRIDAY IS CONCERNED, AGAIN, KEEP IN MIND WE’LL PICK UP THAT QUICK INCH OF SNOWFALL BEFORE THE SUN COMES UP. IMPACTS THE ROADS, ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT GO UNTREATED, BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES, BACK ROADS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. NOW, AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT WEEK AGAIN, I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND MAKE WEDNESDAY AN IMPACT DAY BECAUSE OF THE COLD. WITH THOSE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES STAYING IN THE SINGLE DIGITS FOR A LOT OF THE DAY. THAT’S SOME SERIOUS COLD THAT YOU’LL WANT T

Happy New Year! And no one will be happier than the snow lovers as we roll through the first week of the year. Cold air and snow take over. An isolated flurry is possible tonight as temperatures fall to the 20s. It will be cold tomorrow with highs around 36. Feels like temperatures will be in the 20s-30.A clipper rolls through early in the morning on Friday. Plan on snow 2AM-8AM. Around an inch of snow looks likely for most, but isolated spots north of the Ohio could see closer to 1.5″. This is likely top have an impact to the morning commute Friday! On top of that, we’ll be watching another potential winter system for Sunday into Monday next week. It’s too early to give any specifics, but that should change in the next 24-36 hours. Right now, it looks like a snow arrives Sunday and exits Monday; however, there’s room for big changes depending on the track of the system. There’s still the chance that wintry mix nudges in occasionally, which would have a big impact on totals. This could impact the return to school next week or any late-weekend travel.Beyond that, signs indicate a cold stretch through the first full week of January. By midweek, dangerously cold wind chills struggle to make it out of the single digits.

A clipper rolls through early in the morning on Friday.
This could impact the return to school next week or any late-weekend travel.
Beyond that, signs indicate a cold stretch through the first full week of January. By midweek, dangerously cold wind chills struggle to make it out of the single digits.
As winter weather continues to grip much of the country, a potentially significant winter storm is setting its sights on Cincinnati. With forecasts calling for heavy snow, strong winds, and icy conditions, residents in the area are being urged to prepare for possible disruptions and hazards.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the region, warning of the potential for several inches of snow and gusty winds. Travel could become hazardous, with slick roads and reduced visibility expected. Power outages are also a concern, as heavy snow and ice could bring down trees and power lines.
Residents are advised to stock up on supplies, including food, water, and medications, in case they are unable to leave their homes for an extended period of time. It is also important to have emergency kits in vehicles, with blankets, flashlights, and other essentials in case of a breakdown or being stranded.
Stay tuned to local weather updates and heed any warnings or advisories that are issued. By taking precautions now, you can help ensure your safety and well-being during this potentially significant winter storm.
Fujitsu Limited (TSE:6702) saw significant share price movement during recent months on the TSE, rising to highs of JP¥3,156 and falling to the lows of JP¥2,677. Some share price movements can give investors a better opportunity to enter into the stock, and potentially buy at a lower price. A question to answer is whether Fujitsu’s current trading price of JP¥2,800 reflective of the actual value of the large-cap? Or is it currently undervalued, providing us with the opportunity to buy? Let’s take a look at Fujitsu’s outlook and value based on the most recent financial data to see if there are any catalysts for a price change.
According to our valuation model, Fujitsu seems to be fairly priced at around 0.96% above our intrinsic value, which means if you buy Fujitsu today, you’d be paying a relatively reasonable price for it. And if you believe the company’s true value is ¥2772.78, then there isn’t really any room for the share price grow beyond what it’s currently trading. What’s more, Fujitsu’s share price may be more stable over time (relative to the market), as indicated by its low beta.
What does the future of Fujitsu look like?
TSE:6702 Earnings and Revenue Growth January 1st 2025
Investors looking for growth in their portfolio may want to consider the prospects of a company before buying its shares. Although value investors would argue that it’s the intrinsic value relative to the price that matter the most, a more compelling investment thesis would be high growth potential at a cheap price. Fujitsu’s earnings over the next few years are expected to increase by 27%, indicating a highly optimistic future ahead. This should lead to more robust cash flows, feeding into a higher share value.
What This Means For You
Are you a shareholder? It seems like the market has already priced in 6702’s positive outlook, with shares trading around its fair value. However, there are also other important factors which we haven’t considered today, such as the financial strength of the company. Have these factors changed since the last time you looked at the stock? Will you have enough confidence to invest in the company should the price drop below its fair value?
Are you a potential investor? If you’ve been keeping an eye on 6702, now may not be the most advantageous time to buy, given it is trading around its fair value. However, the positive outlook is encouraging for the company, which means it’s worth further examining other factors such as the strength of its balance sheet, in order to take advantage of the next price drop.
So while earnings quality is important, it’s equally important to consider the risks facing Fujitsu at this point in time. While conducting our analysis, we found that Fujitsu has 1 warning sign and it would be unwise to ignore this.

Fujitsu Limited (TSE:6702) is a multinational information technology equipment and services company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. With a market capitalization of over $20 billion, Fujitsu is a major player in the tech industry, providing a wide range of products and services including servers, storage systems, software, and consulting services.
Despite its size and reputation, some investors believe that Fujitsu may be undervalued in the market. The company’s stock price has been relatively flat in recent years, trading at a price-to-earnings ratio below the industry average. This has led some analysts to speculate that Fujitsu’s true value may not be fully reflected in its current stock price.
One factor that may be contributing to Fujitsu’s undervaluation is its relatively low profit margins compared to its competitors. While the company has shown steady revenue growth in recent years, its profitability has been somewhat constrained by rising costs and competitive pressures in the industry. However, Fujitsu has been making efforts to improve its margins through cost-cutting initiatives and strategic partnerships, which could potentially drive future earnings growth.
Another potential catalyst for Fujitsu’s stock price is its strong position in key growth markets such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. As these sectors continue to expand, Fujitsu is well-positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for its products and services.
In conclusion, while Fujitsu Limited may not be a flashy tech stock, its solid fundamentals and growth prospects make it a potentially undervalued investment opportunity for long-term investors. As always, it’s important to conduct thorough research and due diligence before making any investment decisions.
NEWCASTLE, Australia (AP) — Communities and firefighters across Australia’s second-most populous state were preparing Thursday for potentially devastating wild fires as a heat wave fanned by erratic winds presented the worst fire conditions in several years.
With temperatures in Victoria state reaching 37 degrees Celsius (99 degrees Fahrenheit) and with wind changes expected throughout the day, fire chiefs have issued stark warnings to rural communities to delay travel or leave their homes and seek safety at shelters.
Several fires are currently burning out of control across the state and Victoria deputy premier Ben Carroll said the possibility for further fires in the coming days was likely.
“Dangerous fire conditions are forming today and will go right through to Saturday,” he said at a press conference in Melbourne. “New fires can start anywhere and become dangerous very quickly.
The largest uncontained fire is located in the Grampians National Park and has burnt through 55,000 hectares so far, but no homes have reported to have been lost.
However, Emergency Management Commissioner Rick Nugent said there were many residential properties on the fringes of the fire that could come under threat.
“I wouldn’t be surprised at some point if we do have residential losses,” Nugent said. “Firefighters, I can say, are doing everything possible to protect life and protect property.”
An emergency warning was issued by fire authorities for the small town of Mafeking, 260 kilometers (160 miles) west of Melbourne, on Thursday.
Residents there were told “you are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately, as it is too late to leave.”
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported around 100 personnel from other Australian states are now in Victoria to assist local firefighters battling the blazes. Firefighters are being assisted by scores of water-bombing aircraft.
Parts of neighboring South Australia and New South Wales states are also on high alert due to the heat wave and elevated fire risks.
The hot, dry conditions are being compared to the Black Summer fires that gripped Australia’s two most populous states for months in 2019-20 and burned through 104 thousand square kilometers, an area roughly the size of Ohio, and destroyed thousands of homes and killed 33 people.
As a scorching heat wave grips southern Australia, authorities are warning of the heightened risk of potentially devastating wildfires in the region. With temperatures soaring well above 40 degrees Celsius and strong winds exacerbating the already dry conditions, fire officials are on high alert.
The extreme heat, coupled with the ongoing drought, has created the perfect storm for wildfires to ignite and spread rapidly. Residents are being urged to take precautions, such as clearing debris from around their properties, ensuring they have a bushfire survival plan in place, and staying informed of any evacuation notices.
Firefighters are on standby, ready to respond to any outbreaks, but the community is being asked to do their part in preventing fires from starting in the first place. This includes avoiding activities that could spark a blaze, such as using power tools or lighting fires outdoors.
As the heat wave continues to grip the region, it is crucial that everyone remains vigilant and takes steps to protect themselves and their properties from the threat of wildfires. Stay safe and stay informed during this dangerous period.
