Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies on New Year’s Eve at Footprint Center after participating in 5-on-5 action in Monday’s practice.
“Devin did pretty much all of practice,” Budenholzer said. “We got in some 5-on-5. It was a good day for Book.”
Booker has been sidelined the last five games with a left groin strain he suffered in the second half of a Dec. 19 loss to Indiana.

The Suns (15-16) are 1-4 during this stretch heading into their first matchup of the season against the Grizzlies (22-11).
Grayson Allen is listed as probable for Tuesday. He has missed Phoenix’s last four games in concussion protocol after Detroit Pistons forward Simone Fontecchio caught him with an elbow to the back of the head on a putback in the second half of a Dec. 21 loss.
“I feel good,” Allen said. “No more concussion symptoms, nothing. Got like a few days of ramp-up. Through stages of concussion protocol. All gone well. I’m in a good spot now.”
Budenholzer said Bol Bol (left knee contusion) participated in “60 to 70% of practice,” but didn’t do any live action. Like Booker, Bol has missed Phoenix’s last five games with a knee injury.
Bol Bol is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game.
Jusuf Nurkic will serve the second of his three-game suspension without pay Tuesday for his involvement in an on-court altercation with Dallas forwards Naji Marshall and P.J. Washington Jr. in Friday’s loss to the Mavericks at Footprint Center.
Royce O’Neale has been ruled out Tuesday after sustaining a left ankle sprain late in the first half of Saturday’s loss at Golden State. He didn’t play the second half, left the arena in a walking boot and didn’t practice Monday.
“He’s had an image,” Budenholzer said. “I think overall, it was positive. I think that’s kind of been the extent of the information I’ve been given. I think it was a good ankle sprain but the image was as positive as it could be.”
The Suns are under .500 for the first time since Christmas of last season when they fell to 14-15 after a home loss to Dallas on the holiday. Back to 11th in the West, Phoenix has dropped its last two games, to the Mavs and Saturday at Golden State in the second of a back-to-back.
Durant scored a team-high 31 points but committed three of his game-high eight turnovers in the final six minutes of the loss to the Warriors.
“I’m not going to let a couple of turnovers take away from my aggressiveness because my team needs me to score the ball, especially right now with the circumstances that we’re in,” Durant said after Saturday’s loss.
The Suns committed 14 turnovers for the game leading to 20 Golden State points.
“I know everybody in Phoenix, fans and everybody is going to blame the turnovers, but you look at how hard we played all game on (defense), something we can take from that, but we want championships here in Phoenix,” Durant said. “Moral victories don’t matter. Lessons don’t matter. Getting better doesn’t matter. We’ve just got to win games.”
The Grizzlies are having a bounce-back year after winning just 27 games last season. They’re second in the West but will be without star guard Ja Morant on Tuesday.
Morant suffered a right AC joint sprain Friday at New Orleans that sidelined him for Sunday’s 130-106 loss at Oklahoma City. He had season-ending surgery in January to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
