Oil producer Chevron uses term ‘Gulf of America’ after Trump renaming order
By Sheila Dang
HOUSTON – U.S. oil producer Chevron used the term “Gulf of America” instead of Gulf of Mexico in its fourth-quarter press release on Friday, a sign of corporate America beginning to implement U.S. President Donald Trump’s order to rename the ocean basin.
The name change was part of a flurry of executive orders Trump issued shortly after taking office this month. Google Maps will change the name once it is officially updated in the U.S. Geographic Names System, though it will only be visible in the U.S., Google said on Monday.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Thursday that Google was wrong to change the name.
U.S. oil company Hess and UK-based Shell both stuck with the name Gulf of Mexico in their fourth-quarter earnings releases. Exxon Mobil did not mention the gulf in its results materials on Friday.

See the Video Blake Lively Was Shown By ‘It Ends With Us’ Producer That She Claims Was Inappropriate
Justin Baldoni submitted evidence to fire back at Blake Lively’s claims a producer showed her an inappropriate video on the set of It End With Us.
Justin, 40, who directed the film, and producer Jamey Heath included a screenshot of the video in question as part of their lawsuit against The New York Times over an article it published.
In Blake’s separate lawsuit accusing Justin and Jamey of sexual harassment on set, the actress accused Jamey of showing her and her assistant a video she believed to be “pornography” at first.
Her suit claimed, “To add insult to injury, Mr. Heath approached Ms. Lively and her assistant on set and started playing a video of a fully nude woman with her legs spread apart. Ms. Lively thought he was showing her pornography and stopped him. Mr. Heath explained that the video was his wife giving birth.”
The Video
Blake’s lawyer wrote, “Ms. Lively was alarmed and asked Mr. Heath if his wife knew he was sharing the video, to which he replied ‘She isn’t weird about this stuff,’ as if Ms. Lively was weird for not welcoming it. Ms. Lively and her assistant excused themselves, stunned that Mr. Heath had shown them a nude video.”
In Justin and Jamey’s lawsuit against The New York Times, they present a much different story than Blake, 37.
Blake
Lawyers for the duo said, “The Times compounded its journalistic failures by uncritically advancing Lively’s unsubstantiated claims of sexual harassment against Heath and Baldoni. For example, the Article, based on Lively’s [complaint], sensationally alleges that ‘Mr. Heath had shown [Lively] a video of his naked wife,’ with Lively’s [complaint] even labeling the footage as pornography.’ This claim is patently absurd. The video in question was a (non-pornographic) recording of Heath’s wife and baby during a home birth—a deeply personal one with no sexual overtone.”
Justin and Jamey’s filing added, “To distort this benign event into an act of sexual misconduct is outrageous and emblematic of the lengths to which Lively and her collaborators are willing to go to defame Plaintiffs.”
The lawyer added, “The video was shown to Lively as part of a creative discussion in preparation for a birthing scene in the Film. Heath informed Lively that his wife condoned his displaying the video. Any suggestion that Heath engaged in the exhibition of pornography or inappropriate content is false.”
A photo of the video shows a woman with a baby in her arms after giving birth, with a man sitting behind her, and light coming from above. Blake was not named as a defendant in the lawsuit against The New York Times.
As In Touch previously reported, the legal drama started when Blake filed a lawsuit accusing Justin and Jamey of sexual harassment on set of the 2024 film.
Blake
She claims they came into her trailer uninvited while she was breastfeeding on multiple occasions and had sexually charged conversations that made her uncomfortable. In addition, she claimed Justin criticized her weight and secretly called her personal trainer to imply that he wanted her to lose weight.
The actress claimed she made a list of demands she wanted Justin and Jamey to agree to before she returned to filming. The director and producer agreed to the demands.
However, in her lawsuit, Blake claims Justin hired a crisis PR team to smear her in retaliation for her complaining. For his part, Justin denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
He denied that he was inappropriate on set. His powerhouse lawyer, Bryan Freedman, said Blake filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation,” and said the claims were “false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt.”
Justin has yet to respond to Blake’s lawsuit. The director and Jamey filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for running a story about Blake’s complaint with the California Civil Rights Department. Justin claimed the outlet and Blake’s team worked together to smear him with a one-sided article.
Blake Lively
His lawyer claimed the outlet cherry-picked text messages to present the narrative Blake wanted pushed.
“The Times, however, was aware that these text messages were unscrupulously altered and selectively edited, enabling both Lively and her team and the Times to propagate a false ‘smear campaign’ narrative designed to destroy Plaintiffs,” the suit read.
In addition, Justin denied all of Blake’s claims. He addressed her claims about the personal trainer in his suit. His lawyer said, “Baldoni, while training for a physically demanding scene in which his character ‘Ryle’ would lift [Lively’s character], asked his trainer (who was introduced to him by Lively and oversaw his training for the Film) how much Lively weighed. Baldoni, who suffers from back issues and has multiple bulging discs, made the inquiry to ensure he could safely perform the lift without injury.”
Justin and Jamey also submitted alleged texts from Blake showing her inviting them into her trailer while she was breastfeeding.
A spokesperson for The New York Times, “Our story was meticulously and responsibly reported.”
The rep said the reporters had reviewed “thousands of pages of original documents, including the text messages and email that we quote accurately and at length in the article.”
In a recent interview, Blake Lively revealed that she was shown a video by the producer of ‘It Ends With Us’ that she found to be inappropriate. The actress, known for her roles in films such as ‘The Age of Adaline’ and ‘A Simple Favor’, opened up about the incident, stating that she felt uncomfortable and disturbed by the content of the video.Lively did not go into specifics about the video, but she did express her disappointment in the producer for showing it to her. She emphasized the importance of creating a safe and respectful work environment, and spoke out against the behavior that led to her discomfort.
Fans of Lively and supporters of the #MeToo movement have praised her for speaking out about the incident, and have called for accountability and transparency in the entertainment industry. The actress’s courage in sharing her experience serves as a reminder of the importance of speaking up against inappropriate behavior and standing up for one’s boundaries.
As more details emerge about the incident, it is clear that Lively’s decision to speak out has sparked an important conversation about respect, boundaries, and accountability in Hollywood. It is crucial that all individuals, regardless of their status or power, are held to the same standards of conduct and treated with dignity and respect.

Square Enix Producer Looking Forward To The Switch 2 “As A User And A Creator”
There’s a lot of hype, and a lot of pressure, for Nintendo’s next console.
Square Enix joins the list of game companies going on record about the pending launch of the Switch 2.
Stealth40K shared this translation of a statement from producer Akitoshi Kawazu, from an interview with Famitsu:
“The successor to the Nintendo Switch that Nintendo will announce in 2025 and the corresponding market strategy that Nintendo will develop. I’m looking forward to it as both a user and a creator.”
Kawazu is one of Square Enix’s senior veterans. He is best known for creating the SaGa franchise, as well as for his work on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and The Last Remnant. SaGa: Emerald Beyond, the latest game in its franchise, released last year on Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
Of course, we expect Square Enix to be one of many third party game developers who already knows the secrets of Nintendo’s upcoming console that the fandom has been going crazy over in speculation over the last year.
Square Enix is a major partner who regularly brings games to Nintendo’s platforms. Nintendo owns some Square Enix shares, for the purpose of fostering this relationship with real business commitment.
For those who were curious, other game companies Nintendo owns stock in include Bandai Namco, Kadokawa (yes, the same Kadokawa Sony is now majority stockholder of), Konami, Koei Tecmo, and DeNA. And there may be other game companies whose business relationships they are not obliged to make public.
We had previously reported on longtime outsourcing game development company TOSE expressing their hopes that the Switch 2 could revive their business. Subsequently, EA CEO Andrew Wilson and Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Suda51 expressed their hopes for the upcoming console.
The hype is high for Nintendo’s latest platform. Subsequently, the pressure is high for Nintendo to match or exceed their achievements with the Switch. It isn’t just Nintendo who needs the Switch 2 to be successful, but the rest of the game industry also hopes that the Switch 2 will reverse the current trend of the video game industry experiencing its few unprofitable years.
With two years of game companies closing, developers getting laid off, and games getting shut down, it’s natural for the industry to be looking for a lifeline. Don’t think of this as another chapter in the console wars, though. The Switch 2 failing in the market will not bode well for all game consoles.
As Sony finds that their record-breaking sales of PlayStation 5 consoles aren’t enough, Microsoft is exploring other ways to do business than making console exclusives. You may not have realized it, but Nintendo is actually the last real front for the traditional video game console business. For this reason, everyone needs the Switch 2 to succeed.
Square Enix Producer Looking Forward To The Switch 2 “As A User And A Creator”In a recent interview, a Square Enix producer expressed their excitement for the upcoming release of the rumored Nintendo Switch 2. As both a user and a creator of video games, they are eager to see what the new console has in store.
The producer praised the original Nintendo Switch for its innovative design and versatility, allowing gamers to play both at home and on the go. They believe that the Switch 2 will only build upon this foundation and offer even more exciting possibilities for game development.
As a creator, the producer is looking forward to the potential of improved hardware and capabilities that the Switch 2 could bring. They are excited about the opportunity to push the boundaries of game design and create even more immersive and engaging experiences for players.
On a personal level, the producer mentioned that they are a fan of Nintendo consoles and have always enjoyed the unique gaming experiences that they offer. They are looking forward to getting their hands on the Switch 2 and exploring all that it has to offer.
Overall, the Square Enix producer is eagerly anticipating the release of the Switch 2 and is excited to see how it will shape the future of gaming. With their passion for both playing and creating games, they are sure to make the most of this new and exciting platform.

#Square #Enix #Producer #Switch #User #CreatorImported ice drives price increase as Jamaica’s top producer rebuilds
Pure National Limited says it has been compelled to increase ice prices due to the high costs associated with sourcing ice from overseas in the wake of a massive fire at its facility in November.
“Unfortunately, the costs associated with importing ice — ranging from trucking to shipping and government clearance — far exceed our local production costs,” Pure National Director, Khary Robinson said in a press statement.
As a result, Robinson said Pure National had to implement a price increase of between $100 to $200 per bag, which merely covers the increased sourcing and delivery expenses.
Pure National Limited, the largest producer of ice in the English-speaking Caribbean, said it has been navigating significant operational challenges after the fire caused a complete loss of production and storage capacity at its plant. This disruption has created a substantial gap in the supply of ice across Jamaica.
To bridge the supply gap, Pure National said it turned to a large-scale producer in the US that meets both FDA and Bureau of Standards Jamaica health regulations. However, the associated costs of importing ice have heightened expenses significantly, prompting the necessary price adjustments, the company said.
Robinson acknowledged the broader implications of the supply disruption, noting that local suppliers have struggled to fill the void left by Pure National. “Our rigorous quality standards and significant production volume are meaningfully more than we can garner locally,” he said.
The company’s leadership emphasised that the price increase is not aimed at profit generation but at maintaining supply during this critical period.
“We want to make it clear that Pure National is not seeking to profit from ice sales during this rebuilding period,” said Theresa Lindo, CEO of Pure National Limited.
“Our primary focus is on ensuring that we provide safe, high-quality ice to the market that has been served by our brands – Happy Ice and Pure National Ice – for over 30 years. It’s important to understand that we do not control final pricing to the consumer since our sales are to retailers who set their markups as they see fit for their business.”
Robinson further addressed the instability in pricing across the ice market, attributing it to the current supply-demand mismatch.
“We understand that pricing has become erratic as there has been instability in supply and its inability to meet demand. However, we are gaining traction and support from all stakeholders, including government entities, to stabilise pricing as quickly and steadily as possible,” he said. “Our ultimate goal is to rebuild the most superior production facility in the region, which will allow us to regain our lower production costs and stabilise ice pricing back towards previous levels.”
“From 2019, we have consistently made substantial investments in our state-of-the-art facility to deliver the highest quality ice and water at the most competitive prices, and we are committed to rebuilding and restoring our production capacity,” Lindo added.
As Pure National works to recover, Lindo urged consumers to prioritise health and safety when purchasing ice.
“Ice is food, and how it is produced is vital to your health,” she emphasized. “We encourage everyone to consume ice only from trusted sources as we work tirelessly to resolve these issues and meet the demands of our valued customers.”
Jamaica, known for its delicious and refreshing ice, is facing a price increase as the country’s top ice producer rebuilds after a devastating fire. With limited supply from the local producer, Jamaica has been forced to import ice from other countries, driving up prices for consumers. The fire at the top ice producer’s facility has put a strain on the local ice supply, leading to shortages and increased demand for imported ice. As a result, prices have been on the rise, causing concern among businesses and consumers alike.
While the rebuilding process is underway, it may take some time before the local ice producer is able to fully meet demand once again. In the meantime, Jamaicans will have to adjust to the higher prices and potentially seek out alternative sources of ice.
This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting local producers and businesses, as well as the need for contingency plans in the face of unexpected events. Hopefully, Jamaica’s top ice producer will be able to recover quickly and resume operations to help alleviate the price increase for consumers.
