Is Tyrone Tracy Playing in Week 17?

Updated at 11:30 AM ET on Sunday, December 29
Tracy is active for today’s game.

Tracy was limited at all three practices last week with an ankle injury. Head coach Daboll said Tracy aggravated the injury in last week’s game. It’s still very early, but it does not sound too promising for the talented rookie for Week 17. Tracy was listed as DNP on Wednesday’s estimated practice report and was also absent on Thursday.

Tracy was able to return to a limited session on Friday and, somehow, doesn’t even have an injury designation. He will play.

We’ll continue to monitor the Giants’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.

Should You Start or Sit Tyrone Tracy in Week 17?

The math just isn’t in Tracy’s favor. More accurately, the math doesn’t favor any Giant not named Malik Nabers.

I’m comfortable with labeling Tracy as the lead back in this offense, but with the game script so routinely an issue, he’s made it past 10 carries just once over his past five games.

The versatility of the rookie was on full display last week with a pretty toe-tap touchdown catch with Drew Lock on the move, and that upside is allowing him to keep his head above water for fantasy managers.

With 18 targets over his past three games and a 10+ yard reception in four of his last five, Tracy is at the back end of my Flex ranks for this week. The Colts are the fourth-worst third-down defense in the league, giving the Giants a fighting chance at keeping their offense on the field and thus getting Tracy the 15 touches he needs for us to feel good about him.

Tyrone Tracy’s Fantasy Points Projection in Week 17

As of Sunday morning, Tracy is projected to score 13.3 fantasy points in PPR formats. This includes 16.1 rushing attempts for 72.4 yards and 0.4 touchdowns. It also includes 1.1 receptions for 22 yards and 0.1 touchdowns.

PFN Insight on the Colts’ Defense

After starting strong against the Mason Rudolph-led Titans, the Colts’ defense nearly collapsed to turn a blowout win into a game where Tennessee had possession of the ball down one score (albeit with only three seconds remaining).

The end result was a 69.5 (D+) grade, Indy’s third-worst of the season. The Colts have had problems generating pressure all year, averaging the third-lowest non-blitz pressure rate of any defense (24.8%).

That remained true against one of the league’s worst lines, as Indy had just a single sack and generated its fifth-lowest non-blitz pressure rate of the year (20.6%).

Indianapolis’ defense has seen little improvement over the last three seasons since Shane Steichen became head coach and is actually marginally worse this year than over the last two combined. Gus Bradley’s second season as defensive coordinator hasn’t brought meaningful improvement, which could result in a change if Indianapolis misses the playoffs.

Colts at Giants Trends and Insights

    Indianapolis Colts

Team: On Sunday, the Colts became the third team in the 2000s to score 38+ points without throwing 15 passes (and the first to do so when not facing a member of the Manning family).

QB: Anthony Richardson had more rush attempts than completions against the Titans and has a rushing score in three straight games (he has yet to throw for a touchdown in three consecutive appearances during his career).

Offense: Indianapolis picked up 53.3% of their third downs on Sunday (eight-of-15), matching their highest rate of the season (also: Week 4 vs. Steelers)

Defense: Opponents have converted all five of their red zone trips against the Colts into touchdowns over the past two weeks—only twice in the first 14 weeks did they allow a 100% conversion rate.

Fantasy: Get your AFC South running back exposure in August and watch it pay off in the biggest moments. Since 2017, four times has a player run for 210+ yards in a December game:

    1. Derrick Henry (2018) vs. Jaguars
    2. Derrick Henry (2019) at Texans
    3. Derrick Henry (2020) at Jaguars
    4. Jonathan Taylor (Sunday) vs. Titans

Betting: The Colts have failed to cover four straight December road games (three of those four carrying a failure to cover by at least 13 points).

    New York Giants

Team: The Giants have matched the franchise record with 13 losses (also: 2017 and 2021). On the bright side, their last playoff appearance came in 2022, following a 13-loss campaign.

QB: Drew Lock has completed over 20 passes in all three of his starts this season, but none of them have gained more than 23 yards, and he has more interceptions than touchdown passes in each of those contests.

Offense: New York has picked up 13-of-52 third downs over their past four games (25%).

Defense: Opponents have picked up 17-of-25 third downs against the Giants over the past two weeks.

Fantasy: The Giants, as a team, have 1,603 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 369 carries – Saquon Barkley has turned his 314 carries into 1,838 yards and 13 scores this season.

Betting: Unders are 12-4 in New York’s past 16 home games (they are 1-5 ATS in their past six such games).

Alec Pierce Fantasy Week 17: Projections vs. Giants, Points and Stats, Start or Sit

As we head into Week 17 of the NFL season, fantasy football owners are looking for any edge they can get to secure a win and make a push for the playoffs. One player who could be a difference-maker this week is Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Alec Pierce.

Pierce has been a solid contributor for the Bengals this season, and he has shown flashes of his potential as a big-play threat. In Week 17, he will be facing off against the New York Giants, who have struggled against opposing wide receivers all season.

Projections vs. Giants:

In Week 17, Alec Pierce is projected to have a solid outing against the Giants. With the Giants secondary giving up an average of over 250 passing yards per game, there should be plenty of opportunities for Pierce to make an impact in the passing game.

Points and Stats:

In terms of points and stats, Alec Pierce is projected to have around 60-80 receiving yards and a touchdown. While these numbers may not be eye-popping, they are certainly respectable for a player of Pierce’s caliber.

Start or Sit:

If you are in need of a wide receiver for Week 17, Alec Pierce could be a solid option to start in your lineup. With a favorable matchup against the Giants, he has the potential to put up some solid numbers and help lead your team to victory.

Overall, Alec Pierce is a solid fantasy option for Week 17. Keep an eye on his performance against the Giants and consider starting him in your lineup if you need a wide receiver. Good luck in your playoff push!

Is Blake Corum Playing in Week 17?

Corum is not listed on the injury report this week, so barring any setbacks, he is on track to play this weekend.

We’ll continue to monitor the Rams’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.

Should You Start or Sit Blake Corum in Week 17?

Corum gets his drive or two a game, and that’s cute. It’s also infuriating for those holding Kyren Williams’ bags, but that’s all it is. It’s just a wrinkle, not a feature.

The rookie has posted a sub-20% snap share in three consecutive games and for the bulk of the season, outside of an outlier Week 13 win against the Saints in which he was on the field for 32.7% of the Rams’ plays.

Corum has yet to clear eight touches in a game this year. While holding a handcuff was a logical strategy up to this point, you’re in go-for-it mode now. You don’t need to cut ties with Corum, but if you’re trying to maximize the number of Flex options you have in a do-or-die situation, I’d much rather use that roster spot for a home-run-hitting receiver or a secondary RB where there are questions about the starter.

As things stand right now, we have no reason to think that Williams will see anything less than his standard workload this week, which means that Corum doesn’t project as a usable piece.

Blake Corum’s Fantasy Points Projection in Week 17

As of Saturday, Corum is projected to score 8 fantasy points in PPR formats. This includes 10.7 rushing attempts for 48.2 yards and 0.3 touchdowns. It also includes 0.5 receptions for 9.6 yards and 0 touchdowns.

PFN Insight on the Cardinals’ Defense

The Arizona Cardinals’ run-defense issues haven’t generated as much attention as their pass-defense woes. After all, success in the passing game tends to correlate stronger with wins and losses, and Arizona still ranks last in pass success rate.

However, Sunday’s loss to the Panthers provided a harsh reminder that this is also the 28th-ranked unit by run success rate.

Arizona allowed Chuba Hubbard and Bryce Young to rip off long runs, resulting in -0.22 EPA per rush allowed. That was the Cardinals’ second-worst performance in a game all season, behind only the Week 4 loss to Washington.

The Cardinals took a step forward in 2024, but the end will feel like a disappointment after Arizona was the clear midseason favorite to claim the NFC West. The lack of defensive talent beyond Budda Baker was a well-known roster flaw entering the season and one that will need a serious commitment of offseason resources to fix for 2025.

Cardinals at Rams Trends and Insights

    Arizona Cardinals

Team: Arizona is 4-15 and has been outscored by 152 points (492-340) in their past 19 road games.

QB: Kyler Murray doesn’t have more touchdown passes than interceptions in a game since doing so against the Jets in Week 10 (Arizona has lost four of five games over that stretch).

Offense: James Conner has consecutive games with a 40+ yard carry – he had one such run in his career with the Cardinals prior (794 rush attempts).

Defense: The Cardinals allowed the Panthers to average 3.0 points per drive on Sunday – Arizona falls to 1-6 this season when allowing at least 2.0 points per drive.

Fantasy: Conner is the first RB aged 29 or older with 100 rush yards, a rush TD, and 25 receiving yards in consecutive games since Latavius Murray (2019) – he joined this list in the first half last week against the Panthers.

Betting: Since the start of 2022, overs are 4-0 when the Cardinals play on extended rest (1-0 this season: 28-27 win over the Dolphins with a game that closed with a 46.5-point total).

    Los Angeles Rams

Team: The Rams have won eight of 10 games after a 1-4 start, but they’ve only outscored their opponents by 27 points during that run (235-20)

QB: Matthew Stafford has thrown one touchdown pass on 46 attempts over his past two games (one TD toss every 11.7 attempts over his four games prior).

Offense: Los Angeles has won four straight games, but they’ve been walking on thin ice over their past two by converting just two of their eight red zone trips into TDs.

Defense: Opponents have converted just eight-of-18 red zone trips into touchdowns against the Rams over their past six games.

Fantasy: Kyren Williams has a league-high 15 games with 20+ carries since the beginning of last season.

Betting: The Rams have covered seven consecutive short rest games (average cover margin: 11.4 PPG).

Plus, the No. 1 seed in the NFC hasn’t been clinched. We’re tracking the closest, most interesting races live during Week 17 (and then again in Week 18). We have you covered through all the swings, big plays and surprises.

We begin with the AFC wild-card picture, where the Chargers punched their ticket Saturday with a win over the Patriots. The Broncos can join them if they beat the Bengals, who are still alive for the final spot in the AFC.

As we head into the final stretch of the NFL regular season, the playoff picture is starting to come into focus. With only a few weeks left, every game becomes crucial for teams vying for a spot in the postseason. Here’s a look at the updated chances and projections for teams in the race:

    AFC:
    1. New England Patriots (11-2) – The Patriots have already clinched a playoff spot and are currently the top seed in the AFC. With a strong defense and an efficient offense led by quarterback Mac Jones, they are the favorites to secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
    2. Kansas City Chiefs (10-3) – The Chiefs are currently the second seed in the AFC and are riding a seven-game winning streak. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes playing at an MVP level and a defense that has improved in recent weeks, they are a strong contender to make a deep playoff run.
    3. Tennessee Titans (9-4) – The Titans have been hit hard by injuries this season, but they still hold the third seed in the AFC. With running back Derrick Henry expected to return soon, they have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
    4. Baltimore Ravens (8-5) – The Ravens are currently the fourth seed in the AFC and are led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is always a threat to make a big play. Their defense has been solid all season, and they have a good chance of securing a playoff spot.
    5. Los Angeles Chargers (8-5) – The Chargers are currently the fifth seed in the AFC and have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Quarterback Justin Herbert has been impressive in his second season, and they have a good chance of making a deep playoff run.
    6. Cincinnati Bengals (7-6) – The Bengals are currently the sixth seed in the AFC and have one of the most dynamic offenses in the league. With quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase leading the way, they have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
    7. Buffalo Bills (7-6) – The Bills are currently the seventh seed in the AFC and are coming off a big win against the Buccaneers. With quarterback Josh Allen playing at a high level and a solid defense, they have a good chance of securing a playoff spot.

    NFC:
    1. Green Bay Packers (10-3) – The Packers are currently the top seed in the NFC and are led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is having another MVP-caliber season. With a strong defense and a potent offense, they are the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
    2. Arizona Cardinals (10-3) – The Cardinals are currently the second seed in the NFC and have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. With quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins leading the way, they have a good chance of making a deep playoff run.
    3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-3) – The Buccaneers are currently the third seed in the NFC and are the defending Super Bowl champions. With quarterback Tom Brady still playing at a high level and a talented roster, they are a strong contender to make another deep playoff run.
    4. Dallas Cowboys (9-4) – The Cowboys are currently the fourth seed in the NFC and have one of the most balanced teams in the league. With quarterback Dak Prescott leading a high-powered offense and a defense that has improved in recent weeks, they have a good chance of making a deep playoff run.
    5. Los Angeles Rams (9-4) – The Rams are currently the fifth seed in the NFC and have one of the most talented rosters in the league. With quarterback Matthew Stafford and a star-studded defense, they have a good chance of making a deep playoff run.
    6. San Francisco 49ers (7-6) – The 49ers are currently the sixth seed in the NFC and have been playing well in recent weeks. With quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and a strong running game, they have a good chance of securing a playoff spot.
    7. Minnesota Vikings (6-7) – The Vikings are currently the seventh seed in the NFC and are coming off a big win against the Steelers. With quarterback Kirk Cousins playing well and a solid defense, they have a good chance of securing a playoff spot.

Week 17 Injury Update, Start/Sit Advice, Projections, and More

The Los Angeles Chargers will face the New England Patriots in Week 17. Here’s the latest fantasy football news and advice to help you with your lineups this week and moving forward, especially regarding WR Quentin Johnston.

Is Quentin Johnston Playing in Week 17?

Johnston is not listed on the injury report this week, so barring any setbacks, he is on track to play this weekend.

We’ll continue to monitor the Chargers’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.

Should You Start or Sit Quentin Johnston in Week 17?

When you bet on roulette, you understand that the odds are good that you lose, but there’s a window of hope, and that has you considering a spin every time you walk by it.

Johnston is that. He’s scored on 21.6% of his receptions this season and has the potential to reward you for your faith with a single play, but you need that single play because the volume is never going to be there. We are talking about a player who has failed to reach 50 receiving yards in seven straight games — with a streak like that, you can’t be mad when a 3-18-0 stat line occurs like it did last week.

That’s the cost of doing business.

Much like Buffalo Gabe Davis, you’re either fully committed to a specific spot or you’re wise to fade. The Patriots are the second-best defense when it comes to opposing deep passing touchdown rate — this doesn’t look like the 15+ PPR point spot for Johnston, and that means I have no interest.

Quentin Johnston’s Fantasy Points Projection in Week 17

As of Saturday, Johnston is projected to score 10.5 fantasy points in PPR formats. This includes 3.2 receptions for 43.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns.

PFN Insight on the Patriots’ Defense

Of all the elements of Jerod Mayo’s start as head coach, the decline in New England’s defense will be the most concerning. Having been a top-10 defense in each of the last three years, this year’s demise is a major concern.

New England needed a solid defense to support its rebuilding offense, and that hasn’t been the case. Even with Josh Allen handicapped by a numb throwing hand, the Patriots couldn’t stop the run and recorded another below-average overall grade (70.8).

For the season, New England’s defense ranks 24th in EPA per rush (0.01). Overall, the Patriots have ranked 20th or worse in 10 out of 15 games this year. They’ll be massive underdogs with a pair of home games left against the Chargers and Bills, cementing this unit in the bottom five when the season ends.

Chargers at Patriots Trends and Insights

    Los Angeles Chargers

Team: Thursday’s win was the second time in 32 days in which the Chargers won a game in which they allowed 27+ points and lost the turnover battle – the other 31 teams had done it five times up to that point.

QB: Justin Herbert’s aggression seems to be fading. After posting a 10.1-yard average depth of throw against the Chiefs in Week 14 (his fourth double-digit effort of the season), his rate checked in at 8.2 yards in Week 15 against the Buccaneers and 6.8 in Thursday’s win over the Broncos.

Offense: Los Angeles averaged a season-high 3.1 points per possession on Thursday night, punting on just 27.3% of their possessions (their fourth game this season with a sub-30% punt rate).

Defense: The Chargers eventually forced a punt after failing to do so on 16 straight drives—that’s the longest streak this season and one shy of matching the longest in franchise history.

Fantasy: Gus Edwards ran 14 times for 68 yards (43 on a single carry) and two touchdowns on Thursday night – that was the sixth instance in which a running back had two rushing touchdowns on under 15 carries since the beginning of November – teammate J.K. Dobbins was responsible for two of the other five.

Betting: Unders are 7-3 in Los Angeles’ past 10 games played on extended rest.

    New England Patriots

Team: New England is in the midst of their second five-game losing streak of the season – from 2010-17, they didn’t lose five games in a single regular season.

QB: Drake Maye has completed 15-of-17 third-down passes over his past three games (88.2%)

Offense: The Patriots scored on 30% of their drives against the Bills on Sunday, matching their highest mark of the season.

Defense: New England’s defense came to play on Sunday, holding the Bills to just four-of-11 on third down (in their two games prior, they allowed a 57.7% conversion rate).

Fantasy: On his 238 touches this season, Rhamondre Stevenson has as many fumbles as rushing touchdowns (seven) and as many fumbles lost as touches gaining 30+ yards (three).

Betting: Home underdogs on short rest have covered just seven of their past 24 games.

    Antonio Gibson vs. Chargers

Here are several important stats on the Chargers outfit Gibson will be matching up against:

  • The Chargers have allowed four players to amass more than 100 rushing yards in a game this season.

  • Antonio Gibson Fantasy Week 17: Projections vs. Chargers, Points and Stats, Start or Sit

In Week 17, Antonio Gibson and the Washington Football Team will be facing off against the Los Angeles Chargers. Gibson has been a consistent fantasy producer this season, but how will he fare in this matchup?

    Projections:
According to fantasy experts, Antonio Gibson is projected to have a solid performance against the Chargers. He is expected to have around 15-20 carries and potentially catch a few passes out of the backfield. With his ability to break tackles and find the end zone, Gibson has a good chance to put up some solid fantasy points.

    Points and Stats:
In his previous games, Gibson has shown his ability to rack up yards and touchdowns. He has rushed for over 800 yards and scored 9 touchdowns so far this season. Additionally, he has also been involved in the passing game, making him a versatile threat for fantasy owners.

    Start or Sit:
Given Gibson’s consistent production and the favorable matchup against the Chargers, fantasy owners should feel confident starting him in Week 17. He has the potential to put up big numbers and help lead your team to victory. Make sure to keep an eye on any injury updates leading up to the game, but as long as he is healthy, Gibson should be in your starting lineup.

Is Hunter Henry Playing in Week 17?

Henry is not listed on the injury report this week, so barring any unexpected setbacks, he is on track to play this weekend.

We’ll continue to monitor the Patriots’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.

Should You Start or Sit Hunter Henry in Week 17?

It would appear that we have found the best way to utilize Drake Maye’s upside. Is it a little late? Sure, but better late than never, and Henry might be able to put you over the edge as you battle for supremacy in your league.

Last week, he posted his sixth top-10 finish at the position, partly because Maye acted as if he had Henry rostered on his fantasy team (four end zone targets). The usage in close has been there when New England has gotten the opportunity to score, and while that’s encouraging, that’s not all he offers.

Henry offers plus athleticism and has been trusted with vertical shots this year. He’s cleared 50 air yards in four of his past five games, something that gives him the potential to pay off your trust even if you’re skeptical about an offense that enters this week with a sub-20 point projection.

You’re going to have to deal with the confusion on whether it is Austin Hooper (3+ catches in six straight games) or Henry making plays while you’re watching, but this offense pretty clearly wants to feature its chain-moving tight ends; Henry has been on the right side of that committee often enough for me to consider him a viable low-end TE1 this week, even in a tough matchup.

Hunter Henry’s Fantasy Points Projection in Week 17

PFN Insight on the Chargers’ Defense

After some rough games against better competition, Week 16 appeared to be more of the same for the Chargers’ defense. Denver scored touchdowns on each of its first three drives, a week after Los Angeles failed to force a punt vs. Tampa Bay.

At one point, LA was on a streak of 15 straight drives without forcing a punt, the longest by any defense all season. However, they bounced back with one of its best halves of the season, though their 67.2 grade (D+) was still their third-worst of the season.

Breaking it down by half, the Chargers had the worst Defense+ grade of any unit in the first half in Week 16 but the sixth-best in the second half.

The Chargers’ biggest concern remains a faltering pass defense, which recovered after a horrid start vs. the Broncos. But since Week 11, Los Angeles ranks 26th in defensive EPA per dropback (-0.17) after ranking second from Weeks 1-10 (0.10).

Regardless, the arrival of Jim Harbaugh and Jesse Minter from Michigan has had an instant impact on the LA’s defense. Los Angeles has ranked in the top five for most of the season, a massive improvement from a unit that never ranked higher than 24th under Brandon Staley.
