3 Best NBA Player Prop Bets for Friday 1/3/25

The beauty of the NBA is you will never be short on prop-betting options for a given slate.

From points to steals and three-pointers, FanDuel Sportsbook’s NBA odds are overflowing with possibilities. We’re here to help you sift through it all.

Using FanDuel Research’s daily NBA projections as a guide, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing on FanDuel.

Please note: lines and projections are subject to change throughout the day after this article is published. All NBA odds come from FanDuel Sportsbook.

Today’s Best NBA Player Prop Picks

    Spurs at Nuggets

Chris Paul Over 8.5 Assists (+110)

Chris Paul may not be the near-20 point-per-game scorer he once was, but he remains one of the top playmakers in the league halfway through his 19th NBA season. Paul ranks sixth in the Assocation with 8.3 assists per game, and his 45.7% assist rate is a career-high mark.

That makes him someone to target in the prop market when the matchup is right. Tonight’s road date with the Denver Nuggets puts CP3 in a nice spot to go over 8.5 assists.

Denver has quietly been a rock-solid matchup for player props. The Nuggets are up to 5th in pace but remain a measly 19th in defensive rating. They’ve surrendered the most assists in the NBA, including the third-most to opposing point guards (per FantasyPros).

That should be music to Paul’s ears, especially with how he’s played against the faster teams in the league. Against teams in the top 10 for pace, Paul is averaging 9.2 actual and 17.7 potential assists per game — up from the 8.1 actual and 14.9 potential assists he’s averaged against the rest of the league. He’s dished out at least 9 assists in four of six games against top-10 pace teams.

With that, we can target him to go over 8.5 assists tonight, and perhaps consider an alternate line. Paul to record 10+ assists carries +150 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

    Grizzlies at Kings

DeMar DeRozan Over 20.5 Points (+100)

With a slate-high 240-point over/under on tap for tonight’s Memphis GrizzliesSacramento Kings matchup, this is one of Friday’s go-to games for player props. And considering the Grizzlies lead the league in pace, I’m inclined to turn to the home Kings.

After scoring 26 points the first time Memphis and Sacramento squared off, DeMar DeRozan is well-positioned to go over his 20.5-point prop tonight.

DeRozan enters Friday’s action averaging 20.6 points per game. He is coming off a down month after putting up north of 22 points per game in October and November, but Memphis profiles as the kind of opponent that can get him back on track.

The Grizzlies play at the fastest pace in the NBA, and DeRozan has thrived in pace-up spots. He’s suited up for seven games against teams in the top 10 for pace, averaging 23.4 points on 17.9 field goal attempts per game in the split.

Now, Memphis is also fourth in defensive rating. But DeRozan’s production hasn’t wavered against top-flight defenses. In seven games against teams in the top 10 in defensive rating, DeRozan has averaged 20.1 points per game.

In a plus matchup, I like DeRozan to get back on track and go over 20.5. points.

    Hawks at Lakers

Austin Reaves Over 18.5 Points (-113)

The Los Angeles Lakers (20th in pace) are in a massive pace-up spot against the Atlanta Hawks (2nd) tonight, making them a team to target in the prop market. I’ve got my eyes on Austin Reaves going over 18.5 points given his strong play of late.

Reaves enters tonight averaging a career-best 18.2 points per game — a mark largely inflated by a breakout December. Across eight games last month, Reaves averaged 22.1 points on 15.5 field goal attempts per game. That came alongside a 24.1% usage rate — up from 21.3% mark he posted over LA’s first 19 games. That helped him notch at least 19 points in five of eight December games.

He’s well-positioned to have success again tonight against an Atlanta defense that ranks just 17th in defensive rating and bottom-10 in points allowed to point guards, shooting guards, and small forwards (per FantasyPros).

Reaves has been more productive against faster-paced teams this season, too. In 10 games against teams in the top 10 in pace, Reaves is averaging 20.1 points on 14.6 field goal attempts per game. He scored at least 19 points in seven of those 10 games.

As such, tonight lines up well for Reaves to stay hot and go over 18.5 points.

    1. LeBron James Over 27.5 Points
LeBron James has been on a scoring tear recently, averaging over 30 points per game in his last five outings. With the Los Angeles Lakers facing off against a weaker defensive team in the Detroit Pistons, James should have no trouble surpassing the 27.5 point mark.

    2. Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 11.5 Rebounds
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a dominant force on the boards, averaging 12.8 rebounds per game this season. With the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves, who rank near the bottom in rebounding, Antetokounmpo should easily grab over 11.5 rebounds in this matchup.

    3. Trae Young Over 8.5 Assists
Trae Young is one of the top playmakers in the NBA, averaging 8.7 assists per game this season. With the Atlanta Hawks facing the depleted Brooklyn Nets, who are missing key defensive players, Young should have no trouble dishing out over 8.5 assists in this game.

These three player prop bets offer great value and are worth considering for Friday’s NBA action. Good luck!

  • 3 Best NBA Player Prop Bets for Monday 12/30/24

The beauty of the NBA is you will never be short on prop-betting options for a given slate.

From points to steals and three-pointers, FanDuel Sportsbook’s NBA odds are overflowing with possibilities. We’re here to help you sift through it all.

Using FanDuel Research’s daily NBA projections as a guide, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing on FanDuel.

Please note: lines and projections are subject to change throughout the day after this article is published. All NBA odds come from FanDuel Sportsbook.

Today’s Best NBA Player Prop Picks

    Chicago Bulls at Charlotte Hornets

Coby White Over 21.5 Pts + Ast (-122)

Coby White is averaging 22.3 combined points and assists (PA) and has exceeded 21.5 PA in 56.7% of games — a tad above the 54.9% implied probability on these -122 odds.

Based on his long-term shooting averages and assist conversion rate, White has been netting 3.3 PA under expectation per his last 10 games. Tonight’s date with the Charlotte Hornets could unlock some much-needed positive regression.

The Hornets check in with the 11th-worst defensive rating in the NBA. White is netting 25.6 PA and has exceeded 21.5 PA in 81.8% of games (9 of 11 contests) versus bottom-14 defenses.

Odds not available at this time.

    Please check back later

Charlotte coughs up the 10th-most three-point attempts (3PA) in the league. That’s great news for White, who nets 51.7% of his points from behind the arc and finds himself on a Chicago Bulls team that assists on 85.3% of their three-point makes (ninth-highest rate in the NBA). We’ve seen White sail past 21.5 PA in 70.0% of games (7 of 10 contests) versus bottom-10 three-point defenses.

The Bulls enter this one as 5.0-point road favorites. The close spread in favor of Chicago should ensure that White sees proper court time. White has lost 11 of his 30 games by double-digits, at times limiting his minutes. Plus, he’s been better on the road than at home. He nets 21.2 PA at the United Center but accumulates an improved 23.4 PA on the road.

Our NBA projections expect White to tally 23.3 PA in this one.

    Dallas Mavericks at Sacramento Kings

    P.J. Washington Over 20.5 Pts + Reb (-108)

    Let’s try this one again.

In the wake of Luka Doncic‘s injury news, I tapped PJ Washington to outdo the market’s expectations last Friday in what could have been considered a buy-low spot. Washington ended up getting tossed three minutes into the second half and was subsequently handed a one-game suspension.

Washington will return in tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings, and I’m more than happy to go back to the well now that his combined points and rebounds (PR) prop is set down at 20.5.

In eight full games without Luka this season — not accounting for Friday’s short night — Washington is averaging 28.4 PR. He cleared 20.5 PR in 87.5% of those games (seven out of eight contests) but these -108 odds imply only a 51.9% probability.

Odds not available at this time.

    Please check back later

Sacramento ranks 17th in defensive rating and surrenders the third-most points and the third-most rebounds to forwards per game. To add, Washington’s road splits are elite. He’s generating just 17.1 PR in Dallas but is amassing 22.8 PR in visiting venues.

Our NBA projections forecast Washington to log 21.8 PR tonight.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors

Evan Mobley Over 29.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-106)

Evan Mobley is averaging 30.3 combined points, rebounds, and assists (PRA) and a key split shows us that he could be massively underrated heading into tonight’s contest against the Golden State Warriors.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (8th) and Warriors (11th) each rank in the top 12 of pace.

Mobley is averaging 33.6 PRA versus fellow top-12 pace clubs. He’s logged a minimum of 28 PRA and has exceeded 29.5 PRA at an 81.8% rate in this split. Here’s a look at his PRA output in this 11-game sample: 37, 36, 33, 31, 39, 39, 29, 28, 31, 30, and 37 PRA. Wow.

Odds not available at this time.

    Please check back later

That pace split alone has me bullish on Mobley. In addition, the Warriors are letting up the eighth-most points, fifth-most rebounds, and seventh-most assists to forwards per game. Mobley scorched them for 31 PRA earlier this season despite playing only 26 minutes in a blowout where the Cavs held a 29-point lead entering the fourth.

Tonight, the Cavs are favored by just four points in a game that’s showing a meaty 230.0 over/under. The at-times foul-prone Mobley could be safe against a Golden State team that’s drawing the second-fewest fouls per game. Everything’s coming up Mobley in this matchup.

    1. LeBron James Over 7.5 Assists
LeBron James has been dishing out assists at a high rate this season, averaging 10.6 assists per game. With the Los Angeles Lakers facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, James should have plenty of opportunities to rack up assists against a suspect Blazers defense. Take the over on 7.5 assists for LeBron James in this matchup.

    2. Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 27.5 Points
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been on fire lately, averaging 29.2 points per game over his last five games. The Milwaukee Bucks will be taking on the Chicago Bulls on Monday, a team that has struggled to defend against elite scorers like Antetokounmpo. Look for The Greek Freak to continue his scoring streak and go over 27.5 points in this game.

    3. James Harden Over 8.5 Assists
James Harden has been the primary playmaker for the Brooklyn Nets since joining the team, averaging 10.4 assists per game. With the Nets facing off against the Utah Jazz on Monday, Harden should have plenty of opportunities to set up his teammates for easy buckets. Take the over on 8.5 assists for James Harden in this matchup.

NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions, Prop Bets for Victor Wembanyama, Timberwolves vs. T

As 2024 comes to a close, the NBA is treating us to a six-game slate, starting this afternoon, on New Year’s Eve.

There are several interesting matchups, including the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Indiana Pacers, the Minnesota Timberwolves facing the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Cleveland Cavaliers looking for their 29th win of the season against the Los Angeles Lakers.

I’m eyeing a few bets to close out the season, including a prop for San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, who has been on an absolute tear this month.

Here’s a full breakdown of each pick for Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Find Peter Dewey’s NBA betting record here (futures included). You can also follow my daily plays on  BetStamp here.

    Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

    Minnesota Timberwolves-Oklahoma City Thunder UNDER 217 (-112) – 0.5 unit

This is arguably the matchup of the night, but don’t expect a ton of points to be scored.

The Thunder are the No. 1 defense in the NBA so far this season, and that’s led to them playing a bunch of low-scoring games, failing to clear 217 combined points in five of their last eight matchups.

On the season, OKC has hit the UNDER in 18 of its 32 games.

Now, the Thunder host a Minnesota team that is 9-7 to the UNDER on the road this season and profiles as a perfect team for this bet.

The Wolves – the No. 1 defense in the NBA last season – are No. 6 in the league in defensive rating in the 2024-25 campaign and just 21st in offensive rating. Not only that, but Minnesota doesn’t push the pace, ranking 25th in the NBA in that metric.

Overall, these are two of the top four scoring defenses in the NBA.

    Victor Wembanyama OVER 25.5 Points (-110) – 0.5 unit

What more can we say about the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft? He’s on pace for an All-NBA nod this season, and this month has furthered that case.

Wemby has been dominant in December, and luckily the entire world was able to witness that on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks when he dropped 42 points and 18 rebounds in a three-point loss.

This month, Wembanyama is averaging nearly 29 points per game, clearing 25.5 points in seven of his 11 games. He’s attempting 20.4 shots and 9.8 3s per game over that stretch, shooting an impressive 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 48.2 percent from the field.

If he continues to get this usage, he should clear this prop against a Los Angeles Clippers team that he already dropped 24 points against – despite a 2-for-9 shooting game from 3 – earlier this season.

    Bradley Beal UNDER 5.5 Rebounds (-160) – 0.5 unit

We have to lay some juice on this prop, but Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal is averaging just 3.9 rebounds per game, clearing 5.5 boards in only four of his 21 matchups.

Memphis ranks No. 2 in the NBA in rebounding percentage, so this isn’t exactly a favorable matchup for Beal.

Overall, the star guard is averaging just 7.0 rebound chances per game this season, an extremely low ceiling for a player set at 5.5 boards. I’ll gladly fade him on Tuesday night.

    Khris Middleton OVER 13.5 Points (-120) – 0.5 unit

After missing the start of the season due to bilateral ankle surgery in the offseason, Milwaukee Bucks wing Khris Middleton is starting to come around as a scorer.

Over his first four games this season, Middleton was shooting just 25.9 percent from the field, averaging 7.0 points per game in limited minutes.

However, he’s been a much different player over his last five games.

The three-time All-Star has scored 14 or more points in each of those contests, including three games in a row with exactly 21 points. Over this five-game stretch, Middleton is averaging 19.0 points per game on 13.8 shots, shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from 3.

This stretch has also coincided with Middleton playing more minutes (at least 23 in four straight) while starting each of the last four games.

He should have a strong game against an Indiana team that is just 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating.

Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

oday’s NBA Best Bets: Predictions, Prop Bets for Victor Wembanyama, Timberwolves vs. T-Wolves

Are you ready to place your bets on tonight’s NBA games? Look no further as we break down the best bets and prop bets for Victor Wembanyama and the Timberwolves vs. T-Wolves matchup.

Victor Wembanyama Prop Bet: Over 1.5 Blocks

Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot center for the Timberwolves, has been a defensive force in the paint this season. With his shot-blocking ability, we predict that he will record over 1.5 blocks in tonight’s game. Bet on Wembanyama to protect the rim and rack up the swats.

Timberwolves vs. T-Wolves Prediction: Timberwolves -5.5

In this matchup between the Timberwolves and T-Wolves, we believe that the Timberwolves will come out on top and cover the spread. With their strong offensive firepower and solid defensive play, we expect the Timberwolves to win by at least 6 points. Bet on the Timberwolves to secure the victory.

So there you have it, our best bets and predictions for tonight’s NBA action. Place your bets wisely and enjoy the games! Good luck! #NBABestBets #VictorWembanyama #TimberwolvesvsTWolves

  • Issac Guerendo best prop bets against the Lions

Ryan Wohl details some Issac Guerendo prop bets for tonight’s game against the Lions.

The San Francisco 49ers will face the Detroit Lions in an NFC Championship rematch from last year. This time, though, the situation is different. The Detroit Lions are trying to secure the No. 1 seed, while the 49ers have only won six games this season. They will face off on Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Below, I detail some prop bets for Issac Guerendo against the Lions tonight.

Best Issac Guerendo Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Issac Guerendo over 63.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Guerendo has made the most of the opportunities he has been given this season. He has had 10 or more rushing attempts in four games this year. He has totaled more than 63.5 rushing yards in three of them. Guerendo is -115 to record at least 64 yards against the Lions tonight on DraftKings Sportsbook.

If the 49ers can keep this game close throughout the first half, they can use their rushing game, led by Guerendo. This season, Guerendo is averaging 5.2 yards per rush, and RBs are averaging 68 rushing yards per game against Detroit.

Issac Guerendo Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-115)

Guerendo has three touchdowns in the last three weeks. He scored four touchdowns in his previous four games, with four or more carries. He is -115 to score a touchdown against the Lions.

He has been an efficient playmaker for the 49ers offense when he has been on the field. With Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason on the IR for the rest of the season, Guerendo will get most of the work in the backfield. When the 49ers get in the red zone, they love to utilize their RBs. Opposing RBs have scored 12 total touchdowns against the Lions’ defense this season.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks for Lions vs. 49ers: Isaac Guerendo

NFL Player Prop Picks for Lions vs. 49ers: Isaac Guerendo

We close Week 17 tonight with an NFL player prop pick for Monday Night Football.

For Lions vs. 49ers tonight, I’m betting an over on Isaac Guerendo. He should return to the lineup with his normal workload, and I’m betting on a big gain from him.

    Let’s break it down.

Isaac Guerendo was removed from the 49ers‘ injury report with foot/hamstring injuries, so I’m assuming he should see his usual workload tonight.

It’s a game script where the 49ers will likely have to pass at a higher rate than usual as 3.5-point home ‘dogs against the Lions, so his overall volume is a bit tricky to project. I still think this number is a bit low considering how explosive of a runner he can be.

Guerendo was the 49ers’ fourth-round pick this year and is one of only five players since 2003 to earn a perfect 99 athleticism score at the combine. Two other running backs on that list include Saquon Barkley and Chris Johnson.

Guerendo already has elite speed and should only get better as a runner as he gets more reps in the NFL. He missed a ton of training camp with an injury and was only able to suit up for one preseason game, so he really hadn’t seen many in-game reps until both Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason went down in Week 13.

Now, Guerendo has 73 rush attempts under his belt and I expect him to continue to improve as a runner over the final two weeks of the season.

Stuckey's Lions vs. 49ers Pick & Preview Image

Guerendo has run 10+ yards on 11% of his rush attempts, which ranks 27th out of 62 running backs. He’s been equally explosive on inside runs (11%) and outside runs (11%) and since becoming the 49ers’ workhorse back, he has been a lot more balanced and closer to 50/50 in terms of rushing inside/outside the tackles.

I think it would be wise for him to continue that even split against a Lions defense that has allowed an NFL-high 15% explosive run rate on inside runs. Detroit is conceding a league-high 2.38 yards before contact on those runs. The Lions have also been a bit more vulnerable since LB Alex Anzalone went down in Week 11 and have allowed 0.3 more yards per rush when he’s not on the field this season.

Allowing Guerendo to get two or more yards before contact has been a recipe for disaster for opposing defenses. He has averaged 10.7 yards per attempt on runs on which he’s been given two yards before contact. That ranks second among 62 RBs, with only Barkley averaging more.

I think we see Guerendo get to flash his speed with room to run on an inside run at some point tonight. I’m projecting his median closer to 16 with around a 60% chance he clears 14.5.

As we gear up for the Detroit Lions vs. San Francisco 49ers game, one player to keep an eye on is Isaac Guerendo. The running back has been making a name for himself this season and could have a big impact on the game. Here are some player prop picks for Guerendo in this matchup:

    1. Over 50 rushing yards: Guerendo has shown his ability to break off big runs and could easily surpass the 50-yard mark against the 49ers defense.

    2. 1 touchdown: With his speed and agility, Guerendo is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball. Look for him to find the end zone at least once in this game.

    3. 3 receptions: Guerendo has been getting more involved in the passing game, making him a versatile weapon for the Lions offense. Expect him to be targeted multiple times through the air.

Keep an eye on Isaac Guerendo as he looks to make a big impact in the Lions vs. 49ers game. These player prop picks could be worth considering for your betting or fantasy football lineup.
