If you worked today, it probably had a weird vibe to it, but you got through it.
Then tomorrow is Friday, so who’s going to take on a huge project? Just punt it to next week.
Of course, then next week comes, and all of the “I’ll get to that after the holidays” tasks become due. Chaos ensues, etc.
Good luck, everyone!
Anyways, the Bruins are working today, facing the New York Rangers in Manhattan.
The Rangers have been shockingly bad this year, while the Bruins have just been disappointingly inconsistent.

Millie Bobby Brown isn’t Eleven anymore. The actress, who has starred in Stranger Things since she was 12, had to remind followers that she’s growing up. On Monday, Brown shared a series of mirror selfies to Instagram. She captioned the post “me and my mini,” referring to her tiny Louis Vuitton x Murakami tote. Trolls descended and blew up her comments section with body- and age-shaming remarks.
“MILLIE WHAT HAPPENED,” one person wrote on the post, while another commented, “Millie’s google history : ‘How to look 65 when you are 16,’” insinuating that Brown looks beyond her age. Others joined the chorus, saying Brown looks “way older” than she is. “She skipped 20s & went straight to 40’s,” one wrote. Some accused the actress of wearing too much makeup, getting plastic surgery and even threw in accusations that she might be pregnant.
Her response was shared to Instagram Stories on Tuesday. It was a simple, direct message: “women grow!! not sorry about it :).” As a child star, now a married adult who is a successful author and business owner, it’s a sentiment she’s repeated, time and time again, those who’ve watched her get older in front of the camera — and can’t seem to accept who she is now.
Millie Bobby Brown responded to critics of her appearance with a simple message: “women grow!! not sorry about it :)”
‘A lot of people have opinions’
Before Stranger Things, which debuted in 2016 and will air its final season at some point this year, Brown appeared on hit shows like Grey’s Anatomy and NCIS. As she revealed to Harper’s Bazaar, even as she was featured in supporting roles, she was subjected to cyberbullying. Once Stranger Things became a blockbuster hit, and while Brown was just a teenager, appearance critiques became a near-constant companion as she navigated Hollywood. “It’s always difficult to dress for a red carpet event because a lot of people have opinions and unfortunately you say you won’t listen to it, but you actually kind of have to,” she told the publication.

See for yourself — The Yodel is the go-to source for daily news, entertainment and feel-good stories.
By 16, she was using her voice to call out her abnormal experience and plead for people to do better. In an Instagram post on her birthday, she shared a video featuring nasty headlines about her, followed by clips showing her being followed by paparazzi and fans. “Our world needs kindness and support in order for us children to grow and succeed,” she captioned the post. “The last few years haven’t been easy, I’ll admit that. There are moments I get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity for me. But not ever will I be defeated. I’ll continue doing what I love and spreading the message in order to make change.”
‘Who do they need me to be for them?’
Brown was still pleading with the public at 17 to see her as the woman she was becoming. “So being a young girl, people watch you grow up, right? And they’ve almost become invested in your growth and your journey. But they aren’t ready to accept the fact that you’re growing up,” she said during an interview with MTV News. “So I wear a crop top and people are like, ‘She’s 10.’ I’m like, ‘No…I am 17.’ That’s a thing that girls do. Or I wear high heels. Or I wear an outfit to an award show and they’re like, ‘She looks 50.’”
Becoming an adult was another moment that stands out, according to Brown. While people were long inappropriately commenting on her body — in one instance mentioning her cleavage on a red carpet when she was just 15 — there was a marked influx of “gross” commentary once she turned 18 that was overwhelming. In a 2022 interview with Allure, Brown also shared how confusing it was to mature with online critics always weighing in on her every move. “It’s really hard to be hated on when you don’t know who you are yet,” she said. “So it’s like, ‘What do they hate about me? ‘Cause I don’t know who I am.’ It’s almost like, ‘OK, I’m going to try being this today.’ [And then they say], ‘Oh, no, I hate that.’ ‘OK. Forget that. I’m going to try being this today.’ ‘Oh, my God! I hate when you do that.’ Then you just start shutting down because you’re like, ‘Who am I meant to be? Who do they need me to be for them?’”
‘We are enough’
Ultimately, she’s seemed to find purpose in these experiences. “Young women are dragged down for many different things. If it’s our maturity, if it’s the way we dress, if it’s the things we say, if it’s the choices we make, we will never be enough,” she told Netflix’s online magazine Queue. “It’s for us to find camaraderie and sisterhood in that. And to stand together and say, ‘We are enough.’ We have to stick together, breaking those stereotypes and standards.”
Brown’s short response to trolls this week is an example of that — and already it has brought some people together in the comment section of her latest Instagram post: a video reflecting on her 2024.
“Women do grow and you don’t need to apologize to anyone for it!” and “You’ve grown into such a beautiful woman!!” read a couple of the comments. Another: “A celebrity to everyone, a regular young woman living her life with her husband and family. I love this.”
Millie Bobby Brown, the talented actress known for her role in Stranger Things, has recently been facing criticism for looking ‘way older’ than her 20 years. The young star has been in the public eye since a very young age, and as she has grown up, she has had to navigate the pressures and scrutiny that come with being a celebrity.
Despite the negative comments and shaming, Millie has shown resilience and strength in dealing with the criticism. In a recent interview, she opened up about how she has learned to ignore the haters and focus on staying true to herself. She emphasized the importance of self-love and confidence, and how she has learned to embrace her unique beauty and individuality.
Growing up in the spotlight is never easy, and Millie has faced her fair share of challenges along the way. But through it all, she has remained grounded and true to herself, proving that age is just a number and beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and ages.
As Millie continues to shine in her career and inspire fans around the world, she serves as a powerful role model for young women everywhere. Her strength, resilience, and grace in the face of criticism remind us all that staying true to ourselves is the most important thing of all.

Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia went through a public breakup earlier this year. So far, he has been silent on the matters of their relationship and its end. LaPaglia, on the other hand, has not. She spoke at length about their split and made heavy allegations against the singer/songwriter on her podcast. As the year draws to a close, though, it seems that Bryan is breaking his silence with new songs.
Bryan recently wrapped his Quittin’ Time Tour. Now, it looks like he’s using the downtime to process his feelings and write new songs. In the past few days, he has posted snippets of two new songs that were seemingly inspired by the breakup.
He first took to social media the day after Christmas to share a snippet of an untitled song with his fans and followers. In it, he sings, She’s got a lover / Under our old covers / And I don’t have the heart to ask her why. /Does he know that the bedframe is aimed at the windowsill / So the sun wakes you up on your left side.
It’s hard not to think the’s singing about watching an ex move on.
The next day, he returned to social media with another snippet. In this one, he sings about holding his tongue and someone being crueler than the Devil. I got a bloody tongue / from all the holding it I do. / I met the Devil down in Tulsa. / But he ain’t as cruel as you, he sings in the snippet.
Zach Bryan Fans Have Been Waiting for This Moment
Zach Bryan’s fans knew this day would come. LaPaglia’s podcast gives her a platform from which to speak. However, outside of making social media posts or going on someone else’s podcast, Bryan doesn’t have a comparable place from which to share his side of things. Instead, like other songwriters, he pours his emotions and experiences into the songs he writes. As a result, fans knew that they would hear songs inspired by his latest heartbreak before too long.
It looks like 2025 will bring more new music from Bryan in which he might tell his side of the story.

Zach Bryan, the rising country star known for his raw and emotional songwriting, recently took to social media to share snippets of unreleased songs that appear to be inspired by his recent public breakup. The singer-songwriter, who has gained a dedicated following for his heartfelt lyrics and soulful voice, has been open about his struggles in love and relationships in the past.
In the snippets shared on his Instagram story, Zach sings with a sense of vulnerability and honesty that has become his trademark. The lyrics reveal a depth of emotion and introspection, as he grapples with the pain and heartache of a failed relationship. Fans were quick to connect with the raw and unfiltered emotions that permeate through his music, offering words of support and understanding.
While Zach has yet to announce a release date for these new songs, fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to hear the full versions and experience the full range of emotions that he has poured into his music. In the meantime, his honest and poignant storytelling continues to resonate with listeners, offering a sense of comfort and connection in times of heartbreak and uncertainty.

New Year’s Eve celebration returning to City Hall Plaza
Today, Mayor Michelle Wu, City of Boston public safety officials, and First Night representatives gathered to share the City’s preparations for First Night 2025, Boston’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration. The free and family-friendly event is returning to City Hall Plaza for the second year, and will feature performances, ice sculptures, fireworks, and more. The City is a partner of the New Year’s Eve event, which is formally run by Boston Celebrations, Inc., and managed by Conventures, Inc. All parties are taking steps to ensure public safety as Boston celebrates the New Year.
“First Night is a special tradition in our community, bringing family and friends together across Boston to celebrate a fresh start,” said Mayor Michelle Wu. “We are grateful to welcome residents and visitors from all over to City Hall Plaza again. I encourage everyone to keep safety in mind as we ring in the new year.”
First Night will feature more than 12 hours of free programming on City Hall Plaza and around Boston. The decades-old tradition first moved to City Hall last year from its usual hub in Copley Square due to the park’s reconstruction. The northeast triangle of Copley Square Park, located between Trinity Church and Boylston Street, will open on New Year’s Day 2025, with the other areas of the park set to reopen later in the winter and spring. New this year to First Night are indoor performances at Boston Public Market, CanalSide Food + Drink, and new faces on the event’s main stage at City Hall Plaza. Also in the plaza, ice sculptures will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Massachusetts, which will be commemorated throughout 2025.
The Boston Police Department will be present at First Night to support this family-friendly event. Additionally, Boston Police are reminding attendees not to consume alcohol or marijuana in public spaces or prohibited private spaces, not to fly drones at any First Night activities, to dress accordingly for the weather, and to report any suspicious activity.
“Families participating in the official First Night celebrations, as well as residents celebrating in our neighborhoods, will see a strong police presence,” said Commissioner Michael Cox, Boston Police Department. “We are working with our public safety partners to make this family friendly event safe and secure for all. If you see something concerning at the events, in one of our neighborhoods, or if you need to report a party or disturbance, please report it to a nearby officer or call 911.”
A parade from City Hall Plaza to the Boston Common at 6:00 p.m. will lead up to the Family Fireworks over Boston Common starting at 7:00 p.m. Midnight Fireworks over Boston Harbor presented by Meet Boston will cap off the night. More information on programming for Tuesday, December 31, can be found at firstnightboston.org.
“For the 49th time, First Night Boston will unite the residents and visitors of Boston in a night of celebration,” said Dusty Rhodes, the executive director of First Night Boston. “We’re proud to produce this event, and to keep it entirely free for all to enjoy. We’re immensely grateful to the City of Boston and our event sponsors for their ongoing support of the event.”
“The Boston Fire Department will have additional personnel on duty and resources on hand to ensure the public’s safety during the fireworks shows and other outdoor activities. We wish to remind everyone that the private use of fireworks is prohibited in the city of Boston,” said Boston Fire Commissioner Paul Burke. “Please leave the fireworks to the professionals! As always, we are ready to respond to any emergency. We can be reached by calling 911 or by visiting any firehouse. The Boston Fire Department wishes everyone a happy and safe new year.”
Boston EMS will be deploying additional personnel at dispatch operations and in ambulances across the city to support emergency medical needs on New Year’s Eve.
“Whether you are celebrating with us at First Night in Boston or somewhere else, take steps to ring in the New Year safely. Dress appropriately for the weather, have a transportation plan, and look out for each other. Let’s make sure everyone gets home safely,” said Boston EMS Chief of Department, Jim Hooley. “Boston EMS personnel are posted throughout the City. If anyone requires emergency medical services, please call us. We are incredibly grateful for our EMTs and Paramedics, as well as all members of public safety, healthcare and other industries, working through holidays.”
First Night festivities will impact traffic and parking in Downtown Boston. People coming into the City to celebrate are strongly encouraged not to drive and to instead use public transportation. Details on parking and traffic restrictions can be found here.
MBTA General Manager Eng announced that the MBTA will not be collecting fares after 8:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Updated holiday schedules can be foundhere.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced today the city’s public safety preparations for First Night 2025, the annual New Year’s Eve celebration. With a focus on ensuring a safe and enjoyable event for all attendees, Mayor Wu outlined various measures that will be in place to maintain order and respond to any emergencies.
Among the key initiatives announced are increased police presence throughout the city, including additional officers stationed at popular event locations and transportation hubs. In addition, the Boston Fire Department will have enhanced emergency response capabilities in place, with additional personnel and equipment on standby.
Mayor Wu also highlighted the city’s collaboration with local emergency medical services and hospitals to provide swift and effective medical assistance to anyone in need. Attendees can expect to see medical tents and first aid stations set up at strategic points around the event area.
Furthermore, Mayor Wu emphasized the importance of public cooperation in maintaining a safe environment, urging attendees to report any suspicious activity or concerns to law enforcement officials. She also reminded residents and visitors to celebrate responsibly and respect the city’s laws and regulations.

CenterPoint Energy will inspect cold-weather equipment and coordinate emergency plans with grid operators ahead of the 2025 winter season, the company announced earlier this month.
In December, CenterPoint, The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and the utility company’s industry partners discussed preparations for potential winter weather events that could cause high energy demand and strain the electric grid.
“This exercise included a tabletop review of different scenarios and exams for participants to foster collaboration and coordination around winter preparedness,” according to CenterPoint.
In preparation for high demand and cold temperatures over the 2025 winter season, CenterPoint announced it will inspect and test critical equipment, including more than 270 substations. The company will also harden electric and natural gas infrastructure across the Greater Houston area by installing heaters and devices to prevent ice damage and buildup.
Temperatures in January early this year plummeted into the mid-30’s for several days. The freezing temperatures left thousands of CenterPoint Energy customers around Harris County without power. Grid operations returned to normal conditions as temperatures rose.
The arctic blast that swept through Houston in January resulted in dozens of ice-related crashes, despite several highways being treated with salt-brine mixtures to prevent freezing.
In preparation for potentially freezing temperatures in the early months of 2025, CenterPoint will also maintain freeze protection equipment, repair damaged or degraded thermal insulation and water-proofing materials, and conduct emergency training.
Hundreds of operational personnel and contractors will undergo training to prepare for, mitigate and respond to the impacts of severe weather over the winter season.
“Our CenterPoint Texas team is focused on working closely with our emergency partners and preparing the grid for the impact of potential winter storms and extreme cold,” Darin Carroll, a spokesperson for the company said in a press release.
“As part of this effort, we are taking actions that will be vital if, or when, a winter storm impacts the energy system,” Carroll said. “Our goal is to be ready to respond to any emergency, even as we build the most resilient and reliable coastal grid in the country that can withstand extreme weather at any time of the year.”
On Dec. 19, CenterPoint announced a plan to send 15 of its mobile generators, currently located in Houston, to San Antonio to alleviate an anticipated electricity shortfall. The company faced scrutiny following Hurricane Beryl after the company’s $800 million lease of the generators went mostly unused during the more than 1 million power outages.
For now, those units will remain in Houston in the case of a winter storm or extreme temperatures at the beginning of the 2025 winter season, according to the company.
As we approach the 2025 winter season, CenterPoint Energy is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and reliability of our cold-weather equipment. In anticipation of potential winter storms and extreme weather conditions, our team will be conducting thorough inspections of all critical infrastructure to identify any potential vulnerabilities.
Additionally, we are working diligently to develop comprehensive emergency plans to ensure that we are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of any weather-related disruptions. This includes coordinating with local authorities, first responders, and other key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response to any emergencies that may arise.
At CenterPoint Energy, the safety and well-being of our customers and communities are our top priorities. We are committed to providing reliable and resilient energy services, especially during challenging winter weather conditions. Stay tuned for updates on our winter preparedness efforts as we work to keep you safe and warm this upcoming season.
