6) Buffalo Bills: They locked up the AFC’s No. 2 seed, meaning they will face the AFC’s No. 7 seed and would only have to leave home during the playoffs for an AFC Championship Game if it is in Kansas City. Just as importantly, the Bills defense looked a lot better than it did during its curiously porous performance against the Patriots in Week 16. They made Aaron Rodgers miserable, sacking him four times, intercepting him twice and keeping the Jets off the scoreboard until Tyrod Taylor had replaced him.
7) Green Bay Packers: It was too little, too late but the Packers offense came roaring back from a 17-point deficit with about 7 minutes remaining against the Vikings, showcasing what will make the Packers a dangerous opponent in the playoffs — Jordan Love letting it rip. The Packers were swept by the Lions and Vikings this season, but they are still in.
8) Los Angeles Rams: They clinched the NFC West after beating the Cardinals on Saturday night and then sitting back and watching the strength of victory tiebreaker – the fifth tiebreaker — fall into place for them. Wins by the Bills, Vikings and Commanders on Sunday gave the Rams the edge over the Seattle Seahawks. There might be better ways to spend a day off in the NFL, but we can’t think of any.
9) Washington Commanders: Their Sunday night victory over the Falcons, in an overtime drive fittingly dominated by Jayden Daniels, clinched a wild-card spot for the Commanders, the biggest step in their dramatic turnaround from a 4-13 season in 2023. If they finish as the No. 7 seed, the Commanders would face the Eagles on Super Wild Card Weekend. The teams split their regular-season meetings.

President Biden still regrets dropping out of the 2024 presidential race last summer after mounting pressure from Democrats to step aside, according to a report.
The president recently told people that he still believes he could have beaten Trump in the November election, despite his rough debate performance in June and his low approval numbers that forced him to leave the race, according to the Washington Post, citing people familiar with the conversations.
Following the June 27 debate, more and more Democrats began to call for him to drop out every day, so another person could run in his place.
The president also saw much of his funding dry up last summer as donors began to doubt his chances of beating Trump.

Biden left the race on July 21, and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who had just over three months to campaign before the election.
Trump beat Harris by 2.2 million votes.
Biden has been careful not to blame Harris while insisting to aides that he could have won, the Post reported.

Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., may disagree.
Clyburn, who met with Biden earlier this year, told the Post that he had told the president, “Your style does not lend itself well to the environment we’re currently in,” while speaking of style versus substance.
Biden national security advisor Jake Sullivan told the Post: “How to govern at this moment to set the U.S. up for long-term success has one answer, and how to govern to deal with midterm and presidential elections in the very short-term might have a different answer. The president went with doing the things that really put America in a strong position.”

Among acknowledgments of other mistakes – including his debate performance – Biden has also said that he regrets picking Merrick Garland as attorney general, the Post reported.

Convinced to do so by aides who said that Garland would be a consensus pick, Biden has privately said that he feels Garland moved too slowly on prosecuting Trump, while also claiming his son Hunter had been prosecuted too aggressively.

NFL legend picks against Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen in MVP race
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is in the middle of trying to lead his team to a championship this season. However, he is also trying to cap off an impressive individual season with an MVP win.
For most of the second half of the season, Allen has been the clear favorite to win the coveted award. Over the last couple of weeks, Lamar Jackson has been making it much more of a competition.
While many still view Allen as the front-runner, Jackson is starting to pick up more and more support.
NFL legend and Hall of Famer Rod Woodson is one of those who have named Jackson as their top MVP candidate. He made those feelings clear while speaking to TMZ recently.
“It’s no question in my head,” Woodson said. Lamar Jackson is the MVP. 39 passing touchdowns to 26? To me, that’s daunting.”
Woodson did make it clear that he has a lot of love for Allen. But, he doesn’t think that the numbers support Allen winning the award of Jackson.

In 15 games this season, Allen has completed 63.8 percent of his pass attempts for 3,549 yards, 26 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has also picked up 514 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
Jackson, on the other hand, has played 16 games this season. He has completed 67.9 percent of his passes for 3,955 yards, 39 touchdowns, and four interceptions. In addition to his passing numbers, he has picked up 852 yards and scored four touchdowns on the ground.
Both quarterbacks are more than deserving of the honor of being named MVP. Could the NFL consider a rare co-MVP situation? Without Allen, the Bills would stand no chance as a Super Bowl contender.
All of that being said, it’s a race that is coming down to the final two weeks of the regular season. It will be interesting to see who ends up winning when it’s all said and done.

Hall of Fame quarterback and NFL legend Peyton Manning has made his pick for the 2021 NFL MVP race, and surprisingly, it’s not Buffalo Bills’ star quarterback Josh Allen.Manning, who won the MVP award five times during his illustrious career, recently stated in an interview that while he is impressed with Allen’s performance this season, he believes that there are other quarterbacks who are more deserving of the prestigious award.
“I think Josh Allen has had a fantastic season and has really elevated his game, but when it comes to the MVP race, I have to give the edge to [Patrick] Mahomes and [Aaron] Rodgers,” Manning said.
Both Mahomes and Rodgers have been playing at an incredibly high level this season, with Mahomes leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a 10-4 record and Rodgers guiding the Green Bay Packers to a 11-3 record.
While Allen has certainly made a strong case for himself with his impressive performance this season, it seems that Manning believes that Mahomes and Rodgers have been slightly more impactful for their respective teams.
It will be interesting to see how the MVP race unfolds in the final weeks of the season, but for now, it looks like Manning has made his pick against Josh Allen in favor of Mahomes and Rodgers.

If the Rams lose to (or tie) the Cardinals, strength of victory no longer factors
This extremely convoluted and not particularly realistic pathway to the playoffs for the Seahawks will not matter if the Rams fail to beat the Cardinals. If the Rams lose then both teams would be 9-7 and it’s winner-take-all in the NFC West for Week 18. A Rams win or tie would be enough to win the division for them, whereas winning is the only option for the Seahawks in order to reach the playoffs. Seattle would have a divisional record tiebreaker over the Rams if the NFC West is at stake in Week 18.
So the simplest thing to do is pull for the Arizona Cardinals to win so we’re not pulling for several other teams to win over the remainder of Week 17 and 18. Considering Arizona has L.J. Collier, Evan Brown, Joey Blount (ruled out with injury), and DeeJay Dallas on the squad, it’s almost like you’re rooting for the Seahawks anyway.
