UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell has been slammed for saying Adolf Hitler was a ‘good guy’ in a shameful rant.

Mitchell, who fights in the featherweight division of the UFC, made the shocking comments on the first episode of his new podcast, which has been uploaded to YouTube.

The 30-year-old said: ‘I honestly think Hitler was a good guy, based upon my own research, not my public education and indoctrination.

‘He fought for his country, he wanted to purify it by kicking the greedy Jews out who were destroying his country and turning them all into gays.’

Mitchell went on to make more antisemitic, homophobic and transphobic comments.

The MMA community soon picked up on his shameful outburst, with many calling for him to be removed from the sport.

Popular MMA sports broadcaster Ariel Helwani posted on X: ‘Each and every day MMA finds a way to reach a new low.

‘A new way of embarrassing itself and those who are fans of it. But ya know, it’s Free Speech, brother.

‘Nothing will be done, and I don’t even care if anything is done. Say what you want.

‘It just continues to baffle me at how unbelievably stupid – not to mention bigoted – some of the people in the sport or associated with the sport can be.’

MMA journalist Jason Hagholm added: ‘It’s getting harder and harder to tell people you cover MMA.

‘Bryce Mitchell with a trend that is continuing of people making Hitlers actions seem OK.

‘This is what happens when you start taking history books away from schools. The thing is this won’t have any impact on Mitchell as the UFC won’t punish him’

Under Hitler’s leadership, the Nazi regime was responsible for the genocide of an estimated six million Jews and millions of other victims he and his regime deemed socially undesirable.

Hitler was also responsible for the deliberate killing of an estimated 19.3 million civilians and prisoners of war during World War Two, the deadliest conflict in history.

Mitchell, who was born in Arkansas, was selected for the reality television series The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated after racking up an undefeated professional MMA record of 9-0.

Soon after featuring in the tournament he was signed by UFC, where he is currently ranked 13th in the featherweight rankings.

Last month, Mitchell knocked out Kron Gracie at UFC 310 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, taking his record to 19 wins and two defeats.

Mitchell said last year he intended to home-school his young son because he ‘doesn’t want him to be gay’.

‘We’re going to have to home-school all our kids or they’re all going to end up turning gay,’ he said in an Instagram video while holding his son.

‘That’s the reason I’m going to home-school Tucker, because I don’t want him to be a communist. I don’t want him to worship Satan. I don’t want him to be gay.’

Mitchell previously urged his nearly 500,000 followers not to vaccinate their children.

  • Timothée Chalamet’s sister shades Kylie Jenner in social media rant against billionaires

Pauline Chalamet, sister of Dune star Timothée Chalamet, has drawn attention for past social media posts appearing to criticize billionaires, sparking speculation about her relationship with Kylie Jenner, her brother’s girlfriend.

The Sex Lives of College Girls actress reposted a tweet last year from the nonprofit Move On, suggesting CEOs who own private jets should face similar financial accountability as college graduates paying off student loans. Kylie Jenner, 27, a billionaire and owner of the private jet “Kylie Air,” became a focal point for fans interpreting the now-deleted post as a jab.

Pauline also reshared a scathing tweet from Senator Bernie Sanders critiquing billionaires’ influence on politics, adding her caption condemning tax loopholes that allow wealth accumulation. “Billionaires do not need to exist,” she wrote, further fueling speculation about indirect comments toward Jenner, confirmed as a billionaire by Forbes in 2019.

The Sex Lives of College Girls actress also made her feelings clear when she reshared Bernie Sanders ' scathing tweet on 'billionaires' on Instagram

    Photo: Instagram/@pauline.chalamet

Despite the controversy, Pauline and Kylie appeared cordial when seen sharing a warm hug at the Coperni afterparty in Paris last October.

Timothée and Kylie have been romantically linked since early 2023, frequently making headlines for their appearances at events like the US Open and the Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party.

Though Pauline’s posts have sparked fan discussions, the Chalamet-Jenner connection remains seemingly intact, with recent sightings of Timothée and Kylie enjoying time together in Paris earlier this month.

Timothée Chalamet’s sister, Pauline Chalamet, recently went on a social media rant against billionaire Kylie Jenner, calling out the wealthy elite for their extravagant lifestyles and lack of empathy for those less fortunate. In a series of scathing posts, Pauline criticized Jenner for flaunting her wealth on social media while millions of people struggle to make ends meet.

Pauline called out Jenner for her lavish spending habits, including her fleet of luxury cars, designer clothes, and extravagant vacations. She also accused Jenner of contributing to income inequality and perpetuating a culture of wealth worship.

In one particularly cutting post, Pauline wrote, “It’s sickening to see billionaires like Kylie Jenner show off their wealth while so many people are struggling to put food on the table. Instead of hoarding money and power, why not use your platform to make a real difference in the world?”

The posts quickly went viral, with many people applauding Pauline for speaking out against the excesses of the ultra-rich. Some even called for Jenner to donate more of her wealth to charitable causes and help address the pressing social issues facing society today.

It remains to be seen how Jenner will respond to Pauline’s criticism, but one thing is clear: the Chalamet siblings are not afraid to speak truth to power, even if it means taking on one of the most famous billionaires in the world.

Timothee Chalamet’s sister Pauline Chalamet has seemingly taken aim at Kylie Jenner in a series of scathing social media posts.

The Sex Lives of College Girls actress reposted Bernie Sanders’ scathing tweet about “billionaires” on Instagram.

”When the three wealthiest men in America sit behind Trump at his inauguration, everyone understands that the billionaire class now controls our government,” the outspoken politician.

Alog the post, Pauline wrote, “Our system is so flawed that it allows billionaires to exist and accrue so much money and BARELY pay (and sometimes NOT PAY) ANY ANY ANY TAXES.”

“This should not be possible. Billionaires do not need to exist. Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg SITTING IN FRONT OF cabinet is NOT DEMOCRATIC. NOT. DEMOCRATIC.” She added.

The now-deleted post seemingly aimed at her younger brother's girlfriend who is one of the most famous billionaires on the planet, as per Forbes in 2019.

Prior to this, Pauline reposted a message by nonprofit organization Move On, which criticized billionaires and CEOs who own private jets.

“If your job requires a college degree, you should be able to write off your student loan payments as a business expense the way CEOs write off their private jets and yachts for their jobs which require neither.”

The post was seen as a dig at Kylie Jenner, who owns a private jet called Kylie Air, and is the CEO of Kylie Cosmetics.

However, it's worth noting that Pauline and Kylie have been seen together on friendly terms in the past, including a warm hug at a Paris fashion event last October.

    [ad_2]
In a recent Instagram post, Timothee Chalamet's sister, Pauline, took aim at Kylie Jenner in a heated rant. Pauline didn't hold back as she criticized Jenner for promoting unrealistic beauty standards and perpetuating a culture of materialism. Pauline called out Jenner for constantly flaunting her wealth and luxurious lifestyle on social media, claiming that it only serves to further alienate her fans who may not have the same resources. She also accused Jenner of using her platform to promote products that are harmful to young girls' self-esteem, such as waist trainers and lip fillers. The post quickly went viral, with many fans applauding Pauline for speaking out against Jenner's behavior. Some even suggested that Jenner should take a page out of Timothee Chalamet's book and use her platform for more positive and meaningful causes. It remains to be seen whether Jenner will respond to Pauline's criticisms, but one thing is for sure - this feud is far from over. Stay tuned for more updates as this social media showdown unfolds.

  • Trump’s Weird Rant About Coal at Davos Is Proof He’s Losing It

“Is providing nutrition assistance to low-income kids ‘woke and weaponized’? Kaine asked Vought, who refused to answer, replying that he “wasn’t here to talk about the budget that center put out.”

Kaine pressed further, but Vought claimed he was only there on behalf of the president. The Virginia senator then pointed out that in the same document, Vought proposed deep cuts to Medicaid for low-income families, tenant-based rental assistance, and low-income housing energy assistance.

“This was all in your document about ending woke and weaponized government. OK, let’s see, we want to traumatize federal employees and then we want to take all of these programs that help everyday people who are struggling and cut them because they’re ‘woke and weaponized.’ Those are your words, not mine,” Kaine concluded. “From the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaks.”

At the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, President Donald Trump went on a bizarre rant about coal that left many scratching their heads. In a speech that was supposed to focus on the future of the global economy, Trump instead chose to ramble on about the virtues of coal and how it is the key to economic success.

It was a strange and out-of-touch moment that only served to highlight the fact that Trump is increasingly disconnected from reality. While the rest of the world is moving towards renewable energy and sustainable practices, Trump is stuck in the past, clinging to a dying industry that is harmful to both the environment and public health.

Trump’s obsession with coal is not only misguided, it’s dangerous. By promoting an industry that is becoming increasingly irrelevant, Trump is not only ignoring the urgent need to address climate change, but also putting the health and well-being of Americans at risk.

It’s clear that Trump is grasping at straws, desperately trying to hold onto a narrative that no longer holds water. His weird rant about coal at Davos is just further proof that he is losing it, and that his time in office is coming to an end. Let’s hope that the next president will be more in touch with reality and willing to embrace the changes needed to create a more sustainable and prosperous future.

Eight years later, Illinois (13-4, 5-2 Big Ten) exceeded expectations, culminating with an Elite Eight appearance last season; the Fighting Illini are returning to national relevance and striving for even greater heights. Illinois men’s basketball coach Brad Underwood scoffs at potential recruits in fiery ‘don’t come here’ rant

In a surprising turn of events, Illinois men’s basketball coach Brad Underwood went on a fiery rant during a recent press conference, warning potential recruits not to come to Illinois if they aren’t willing to put in the work.

Underwood, known for his intense coaching style and high expectations for his players, didn’t hold back in his message to any players thinking about joining his program. He emphasized the level of commitment and dedication required to succeed at Illinois, and made it clear that he has no patience for players who aren’t willing to give it their all.

“Don’t come here if you’re not ready to work harder than you ever have in your life,” Underwood said. “Don’t come here if you’re not willing to push yourself to the limit every single day. We don’t want players who are just looking for an easy ride. We want players who are hungry, who are driven, who are willing to do whatever it takes to be successful.”

Underwood’s passionate speech has sparked some controversy, with critics questioning whether his tough love approach is the best way to attract top recruits. However, many fans and supporters of the program have praised Underwood for his honesty and commitment to building a winning culture at Illinois.

Only time will tell if Underwood’s bold words will have an impact on recruiting, but one thing is for sure – players who do choose to come to Illinois will know exactly what is expected of them from day one.

When Illinois men’s basketball coach Brad Underwood arrived in Champaign in 2017, he inherited a broken down, non-identifiable Big Ten blue blood starving for excellence.

Eight years later, Illinois (13-4, 5-2 Big Ten) exceeded expectations, culminating with an Elite Eight appearance last season; the Fighting Illini are returning to national relevance and striving for even greater heights.

Underwood may be an old-school coach. He may yell, scream, confront, defend, and praise his players, but ultimately, he wants to win and does so obsessively.

Following a 10-point home loss to USC last Saturday, Underwood got help when guard Kasparas Jakučionis returned to action in a 94-69 win against Indiana on Tuesday. This further showcased the Illini’s ability to go as far as their stars would take them.

Underwood recognizes what he has and what he doesn’t. However, if a recruit intends to play for him, they better be ready to work the hardest they ever have.

“I try to have a pretty heavy hand in that,” Underwood said Saturday regarding practices. “I try to make practices harder than the games. I try to create environments. I try to create stress, adversity in practice while trying to build confidence. Our practices aren’t for the weak. If you don’t want to practice and get better, you don’t need to come to school here. I think that mentality is what this group has just thrived on.”

Illinois remains on the road Sunday against Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans (noon ET, CBS). The Illini seek their fourth-straight road win, while the Spartans (15-2, 6-0 Big Ten) have won 10 in a row. Izzo compared Illinois’ team dynamic to two of the most prominent NBA franchises: the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

“We got a lot of work to do the next 3-4 days,” Izzo said Wednesday. “I’m gonna try to work and not read.”

Michigan State upset then-ranked No. 10 Illinois in their most recent meeting last season. The Spartans lead the all-time series 65-64 and have won six of 11 games against Underwood during his tenure thus far.

Illinois men’s basketball coach Brad Underwood scoffs at potential recruits in fiery ‘don’t come here’ rant

Illinois men’s basketball coach Brad Underwood made headlines today with a fiery rant directed at potential recruits. In a press conference, Underwood bluntly told any players considering coming to Illinois to look elsewhere.

“We don’t want players who aren’t willing to put in the work and give it their all every single day,” Underwood said. “If you’re not committed to pushing yourself to be the best, then don’t come here. We don’t need you.”

Underwood’s passionate speech comes as the Fighting Illini are coming off a disappointing season and are looking to rebuild their program. The coach’s tough love approach has garnered mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, with some applauding his no-nonsense attitude while others question his tactics.

Despite the controversy, Underwood remains steadfast in his commitment to turning Illinois into a powerhouse program once again. Only time will tell if his bold words will resonate with potential recruits or if they will fall on deaf ears.

  • Lakers coach JJ Redick responds to Charles Barkley’s rant against him: ‘Literally don’t care’

Lakers coach JJ Redick responds to Charles Barkley’s rant against him: ‘Literally don’t care’

The NBA’s newest feud between TNT commentator Charles Barkley and Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick appears to be a bit one-sided.

A day after Barkley unloaded on Redick for criticizing the negativity of NBA broadcasts, Redick responded by saying he didn’t bother watching the entire clip and does not care about what the NBA Hall of Famer has to say about him.

    Redick’s full answer:

“I got a random text from somebody after the game. I went to look at my phone and it says something about Charles Barkley. I’m like, ‘Huh?’ But [Lakers assistant coaches Greg St. Jean and Beau Levesque] showed me. I didn’t make it all the way through the clip, I gotta be honest with you. My resting heart rate is 64. I watched the clip, it was 64. Literally don’t care. I have other thoughts, but don’t care.”

Barkley received plenty of attention for a rant sparked by Redick last month saying, “If I’m a casual fan and you tell me every time I turn on the television that the product sucks, well, I’m not going to watch the product.”

In return, Barkley went in on Redick’s coaching philosophy, decision-making and job security, as well as the status of the Lakers organization:

“[Redick] said something about we’re the reason people ain’t watching this crappy product we got … yeah, us, like we’re out there jacking up 100 threes a night. JJ, you come for the king, you better not miss. Because I can get you, brother. Remember, I got your Lakers games. You can’t hide them flaws they got. You’re just a dead man walking. They got rid of Frank Vogel who did a good job, they got rid of Darvin Ham who did a good job. But you came out there thinking you were gonna change things with that same ugly girl you went on a date with.”

”[Redick] came in there thinking, ‘I can make this thing work.’ The hell you can! You can put some makeup on that pig! … The Lakers stink, man. Come on, man.”

Barkley is no stranger to media feuds and strong language, while Redick is in his first season as Lakers head coach after three years in the media with ESPN. After a 119-102 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, Los Angeles has won seven of its last nine after a disappointing stretch earlier this season. The team currently sits at 19-14, tied for fourth in the Western Conference.

Redick is something of a lightning rod for the Lakers’ longer-term concerns, both as a first-time professional coach (his only coaching experience consists of his son’s elementary school team) and his closeness with LeBron James (the two had a podcast together before Redick’s hire by the Lakers). As long as the Lakers are losing at least some of their games, he’s going to be an easy target for Barkley and many others.

In a recent interview, Lakers coach JJ Redick responded to Charles Barkley’s rant against him with a simple message: “Literally don’t care.”

Barkley had criticized Redick’s coaching style, calling him out for being too conservative and not taking enough risks on the court. However, Redick brushed off the comments, stating that he is focused on leading his team to success and is not concerned with what Barkley has to say.

“I have a job to do and that is to coach this team to the best of my ability. I don’t pay attention to the noise or the critics,” Redick said. “I have confidence in my coaching style and I am going to stick to it, regardless of what anyone else thinks.”

The Lakers have been performing well under Redick’s leadership, with a strong record and high morale among the team. Redick remains unfazed by Barkley’s criticism and is determined to continue guiding his team to victory.

Fans of the Lakers have shown their support for Redick, praising his resilience and dedication to the team. Despite Barkley’s comments, Redick remains focused on his goal of leading the Lakers to a championship title.

In response to Barkley’s rant, Redick simply stated, “I literally don’t care.” And with that, he is back to focusing on what truly matters – the game.

Jersey Mike’s employee blasts RHONJ’s Jennifer Aydin in expletive-filled rant after her viral meltdown

Jennifer Aydin‘s viral meltdown at a Jersey Mike’s Subs has sparked an equally fiery response from an alleged employee of the chain who claims to have witnessed the chaos firsthand.

The drama unfolded when the Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 47, filmed herself venting in line at the sandwich shop, loudly declaring, ‘I’m a f*****g celebrity’ and hurling insults at an employee she described as an ’80-year-old.’

As Aydin’s outburst made waves online, a TikTok user, @amxndaa.x, who appeared to be wearing a Jersey Mike’s uniform, posted her own expletive-laden reaction.

In the video, she begins, ‘I really hope this stupid b***h has TikTok. I really hope I come up on your ‘For You’ page, b***h. I hope you recognize me.’

The employee went on to allege that Aydin caused delays by holding up the line, struggling to decide what to order, and even placing orders for people who weren’t in line.

‘Like, girl, that’s not how that works,’ she said pointedly.

According to @amxndaa.x, tensions escalated when employees told Aydin she needed to rejoin the line to order additional items.

That’s when the reality star allegedly ‘started tweaking,’ shouting about her ‘celebrity’ status, threatening lawsuits, and recording the staff.

‘She starts recording all of us, and she posts it,’ the employee said, adding a final piece of advice for Aydin: ‘Learn how to order.’

The TikTok user captioned her emotional video, ‘I’m so pissed because we literally can’t say s*** to they [sic] face.’

In the original video obtained by a Bravo fan account, Aydin, said she was ‘so mad’ at waiting in line for ‘what felt like forever’ and said a customer who had ordered after her has already received their food.

She said: ‘Everything was slow … we get it. It’s early in the morning, you’re in a bad mood, it’s New Year’s — you’re working. I’d be pissed, too.’

She claimed the employee ‘acted like she couldn’t hear them’ adding ‘the 80-year-old that was working there, the amount of time she took to cut that bread was almost as much as we were waiting on that line.’

As she tried to add to her order, she claimed she was told to ‘get back in line’ or ask another customer if it was ok to do so.

The man told Aydin her request to do so was ‘ridiculous’ leading Aydin to brand him a ‘freakin jerk’ and started filming him.

Aydin claimed the man said he would ‘sue her for her fake jewelry’ if she shared the video.

She said: ‘Fake diamonds, b***h? What you don’t know — you better ask somebody, Please.’

She told another customer: ‘I am a f***ing celebrity, you asshole!’ and tagged Jersey Mikes in the post.

Fans quickly rounded on Aydin with one writing: ‘DID YOU JUST MAKE FUN OF AN ELDERLY PERSON. Your disgusting

Others wrote: ‘such a brat’ and ‘so rich she’s at newark airport jersey mikes.’

Jersey Mike’s employee goes off on Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin in an expletive-filled rant following her recent viral meltdown.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the employee, who goes by the handle @subwayshater69, unleashed a tirade against Aydin, accusing her of being entitled, rude, and disrespectful during her recent visit to the fast-food chain.

“Can’t believe this b*tch Jennifer Aydin had the nerve to come into our store and act like she owns the place. She was yelling at my coworkers, demanding special treatment, and acting like a total diva,” the post read.

The employee continued, “I’ve never seen someone with such a big ego and such a small brain. She thinks she’s hot sh*t just because she’s on a reality show, but let me tell you, she’s nothing but a pathetic excuse for a human being.”

The post quickly went viral, with many social media users chiming in to share their own negative experiences with Aydin. Some even called for a boycott of her businesses and appearances on the reality show.

Aydin has yet to respond to the employee’s rant, but it’s clear that her behavior has not gone unnoticed by those who have encountered her in real life. Hopefully, this incident will serve as a wake-up call for Aydin to check her attitude and treat others with respect.

Gloating about “stupid MAGA brain,” Lemon chided President-elect Donald Trump’s supporters for allowing themselves to be blindsided by tech baron Elon Musk’s support for H1-B visas.

“Oh my gosh, I love this. Now you’re finding out, you dumb f–king idiots. Now you’re just figuring this sh— out. You’re so f–king stupid, and you deserve it. And you f–king deserve it because you’re so dumb,” a beaming Lemon sneered.

“You have been co-opted because you’re in a f–king cult and you don’t even realize it because you have stupid MAGA brain, and you don’t get it. How stupid and dumb are you?” a hysterical Lemon added.

Lemon’s screed came after he noted that some business owners and farmers raised concerns that they would be unable to keep their operations going if they couldn’t rely on visas for foreign workers.

Last week, a feud broke out among prominent MAGA social media personalities over H1-B visas. It began when MAGA diehards like Laura Loomer railed against the Dec. 22 announcement of venture capitalist Sriram Krishnan to serve as senior policy adviser for artificial intelligence (AI) in the next Trump administration.

From there, attention shifted to the growing clout of “tech bros” in Trump’s orbit and their fondness for the H1-B visa system, which permits companies to hire skilled foreign workers if they can’t find Americans for those roles.

Musk and fellow Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) co-chair Vivek Ramaswamy rallied in defense of H1-B visas while caveating that they believe the program needs a drastic overhaul during the MAGA-world scrum.

Lemon could barely contain his glee over the MAGA infighting over the H1-B visa system that had erupted around Christmas in a video that he posted on YouTube last Friday that has since gained more attention.

“You know what they’re saying about the anti-immigrant jobs, right,” Lemon said with a few giggles. “Who’s it to say that one of those jobs you might be seeking might be one of those white jobs.”

That was an apparent call back to President-elect Donald Trump’s remarks about immigrants taking away “black jobs” while speaking at a combative National Association of Black Journalists panel in July.

    He then laughed maniacally.

“I love this story,” Lemon gushed at another point during his show, which featured him fielding audience questions, later adding that the “tea is hot.”

“They’re getting too big for their britches,” Musk recounted hearing from “MAGA land” about Musk and Ramaswamy. “And soon enough they were going to say or do something that would incur MAGA’s wrath.”

Shortly after Lemon’s gloating session, Trump broke his silence and weighed in on the MAGA world spat, telling The Post that he also supports the program.

“I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,” he said.

Lemon had once been a primetime and then later a morning CNN news anchor but got pushed out of the network amid reported troubles booking guests and concerns about his popularity plummeting.

Weeks prior to his termination, Lemon landed in hot water for suggesting that former Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley was past her prime because she was in her 50s.

During his time as a TV anchor, Lemon regularly railed against President-elect Donald Trump and after his CNN firing, he explored a deal with X that ultimately went up in flames after a combative interview with Musk.

Don Lemon, the outspoken CNN host, went on a profanity-laced tirade against MAGA supporters following a visa feud with Elon Musk. In a segment on his show, Lemon cackled maniacally as he unleashed a scathing attack on those who support former President Donald Trump.

“Dumb f–king idiots,” Lemon exclaimed, his eyes bulging with rage. “These MAGA supporters are just a bunch of brainwashed morons who can’t think for themselves. They worship a failed businessman like Trump and attack a brilliant innovator like Elon Musk. It’s just pathetic.”

Lemon went on to call out the hypocrisy of Trump supporters who claim to be patriots while attacking American success stories like Musk. “These people have no loyalty to anything but their own ignorance,” Lemon ranted. “They are a cancer on this country and need to be eradicated.”

As he continued his rant, Lemon’s laughter became more maniacal, his words dripping with venom. “I can’t believe we live in a world where these idiots have a platform to spread their hatred and stupidity,” he said. “But mark my words, we will not let them win. We will fight back against their ignorance and intolerance until they are nothing but a distant memory.”

The segment ended with Lemon slamming his fist on the desk, a look of triumph in his eyes. “We will not be silenced,” he declared. “We will continue to speak out against these MAGA fools and their toxic ideology. And we will prevail.”

It was a chilling display of anger and defiance from Lemon, who shows no signs of backing down in his fight against those he sees as a threat to democracy. Love him or hate him, one thing is for sure – Don Lemon is not afraid to speak his mind, no matter how controversial or profane his words may be.

“Ego Took Over”: Sunil Gavaskar Justifies “Stupid, Stupid, Stupid” Rant At Rishabh Pant

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has opened up on his viral rant criticising wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant after the latter’s dismissal on Day 3 of the 4th Test in Melbourne. On Saturday, Pant went across and attempted to scoop Scott Boland to fine leg, only to get a big leading edge for Nathan Lyon to complete a simple catch at deep third man. Gavaskar, who was on commentary duty for ABC Sport, lost his cool at Pant, saying that the wicketkeeper let the team down by throwing his wicket away when India needed him the most.

Just a day after a video of him cricising Pant had gone viral on social media, Gavaskar has now clarified his remarks. The legendary batter said he is extremely passionate about Indian cricket, even though he retired from cricket more than three decades back.

“Honestly, this game has made me. Indian cricket has made me. So when I see somebody as talented as Rishabh Pant play that shot ….and I had no problems with the first shot he played. The reason why I got upset was the ego took over for the next ball. I’ve just been hit in the midriff attempting a similar shot. I’m gonna show the bowler who’s the boss. Test cricket is not easy,” said Gavaskar.

“When he got out and got out at the other end …and I was always saying that they have got two fielders there in the deep. And this is a big ground it’s not easy to hit the sixes. You’ve got the fielders in the catching position. Deep square leg and deep fine leg. But when he got caught at third man with the edge. I’ve seen him play some fabulous innings, Rishabh Pant. But here in Australia, I get the impression he thinks that’s the only way he’s going to score runs here. He’s stepping down the pitch and lofting the ball and getting a boundary,,” he added.

“But that’s not always the way he scored runs in the past. He has, of course, played those shots, and those have been outrageously good. But it looks like he’s doing that … I’ve seen him play the cover drive along the ground very well. The square cut, the pull shot he plays so well, the flick off the pads. Everything he’s got,” he added.

Speaking further, Gavaskar said, “Yes, if he had connected and it had gone for a 6, I would’ve applauded the shot as well. But there you are, you get out, and it’s a fine line with the bat between being carefree and careless. And I thought he crossed that line.”

In a recent interview, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar addressed his controversial comments about wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, where he had called Pant “stupid, stupid, stupid” for his shot selection during a match.

Gavaskar admitted that his ego had taken over when he made those comments and that he deeply regretted them. He explained that as a former cricketer, he sometimes gets carried away with emotions and forgets to consider the impact of his words on the players.

Gavaskar emphasized that he has nothing but respect for Pant’s talent and potential, and that his outburst was a moment of weakness. He also acknowledged that as a senior figure in Indian cricket, he has a responsibility to support and encourage young players like Pant, rather than criticizing them publicly.

In conclusion, Gavaskar apologized to Pant and his fans for his harsh words and vowed to be more mindful of his language in the future. He urged fans and critics to remember that players are human too and deserve understanding and support, especially during tough times on the field.
