BKFC KnuckleMania 5: Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings

Round 1: The round starts with a jab from Starling, but Rawlings quickly responds with a pair of body jabs. Rawlings on the front foot now, counterping Starling’s flurries, but the American lands a counter right-hand. They get into a brief exchangge and Rawlings drops Starling!

Starling beats the count and another exchange happens, with Rawlings getting the better of it. The Australian is on the front foot now, stinging her opponent. This is all Rawlings so far. Starling is looking sloppy, but survives the first two minutes. 10-8 Rawlings

Round 2: Rawlings is quick to apply pressure, backing Starling up before blasting her with a massive right hook. Starling tries to land a flurry but her distance management is off. Rawlings snaps Starling’s head back with a three-punch combination. Starling is tough, though.

Jab to the body from Rawlings. Starling is leaking from the nose and eats another right hand. Starling nearly slips from over-extending on a jab that misses. A good right hand lands for Starling. The round ends with a good exchange for both women. 10-9 Rawlings

Round 3: Rawlings is back on the front foot, cracking Starling on the counter. Rawlings’ face is swelling though, such is the nature of bare-knuckle boxing. A slick overhand lands for Rawlings over Starling’s jab. Another big right hand for the Australian, prompting Starling to clinch.

They separate and Rawlings is backing Starling up. They trade again, with both women finding moments of success. 10-9 Rawlings

Round 4: The round starts as all others have, with pressure from Rawlings, who is backing Starling up. Rawlings continues to find a home for her right hand, again prompting a clinch from Starling, but nothing comes of it. Starling finds an opening for some shots, but Rawlings is so quick to counter her she can’t get much off.

Starling is busted up bad, and Rawlings snipes her with a right hand. Rawlings going back to the body with a jab. Starling counters Rawlings, who clinches and lands some dirty boxing shots. 10-9 Rawlings

Round 5: Urgency from Starling’s corner, as they tell her she’s losing and call for the 1-2 down the pipe in search of a finish. As the round starts, the two women trade, but Rawlings gets the better of the exchange, sniping Starling with a pull-counter. More pressure from Rawlings.

Starling tries to land the 1-2, but Rawlings was wise to it. A big right hand lands for Rawlings and Starling slips, almost seeming like a knockdown, but it wasn’t. Body jab for Rawlings. Starling is throwing, but not landing. They clinch and dirty box. Rawlings with a jab. They end the round clinching. 10-9 Rawlings
