Fits on my 1986 C4 Corvette
I wanted to upgrade the old aftermarket headunit to a wireless AndroidAuto compatible headunit on my 1986 Corvette. I bought this unit on sale for Black Friday. After confirming if the dimensions of this unit will fit, I went ahead and bought it for $50. I had no experience with headunit wiring and installation prior to purchasing this headunit.Installation was pretty simple. I removed the old headunit and the bracket adapters that it had. I put the adapters on the new headunit. For the wiring harness, I couldn’t find a matching male plug to the harness from the old headunit. I bought an assortment of wire terminal ends that crimp to the wires. I crimped ends that fit into the old harness on the new headunit harness. I then put heat shrink wire tubing around the wire and crimped terminal ends. Fortunately the colors of the speakers, power (yellow), ACC power (red), and ground (black) matched with the old headunit harness. I plugged in each inidividual wire into the old harness, as well as the car’s radio plug, and everything worked right off the bat.Wireless AndroidAuto also worked right off the bat after connecting to this headunit’s bluetooth. Although Google Maps and the volume knob can get pretty laggy due to the headunit only having 2GB of RAM, it works good enough to be usable and I haven’t encountered any music lag or clipping from AndroidAuto Spotify with Google Maps on.For $50 I’m fine if the headunit isn’t as fast as I would like it to be. Ultimately, it fits flush with the panels on my car without jutting out or looking out of place. Unfortunately, I don’t know what single DIN adapter I have. If you’re looking to put this on a C4 Corvette with the stock radio, you’ll need to reference Youtube on how to do the wiring and what bracket adapters you’ll need. I haven’t installed the rearview camera but I may in the future. I’ll update this review if I encounter any problems.

    I’ve now purchased two. I used this product because the dimensions came close to various GM 1.5 DIN radio slots. The fit and appearance in the cab of a 73-87 c10/truck/suburban is great. I also am using it in a C5 corvette, and with a different adapter and some fiddling, it too would fill the hole perfectly. As is, it’s ok too. Everything works as they say, and maybe it’s the low expectations I had, but at 75$ I can find no faults other than the wires in the harness could be a smidgen thicker. Sound is ok, not top tier, but not Pip farting on a snare drum either.

    The last week has bit of a hell trying to find the “correct” android headunit. There are so many options that turn up in the search results it’s a bit daunting. However, I have some of it sorted now. However, some models do not support wireless connections for Android Auto or Apple Carplay. Pay attention to the details in the description.

    This android-based radio (model D6021A according to the manual) seems to use a different manufacturer than the 688A and 6288A, which share the same wiring plug.

    The connectors are made in the back like NORMAL and the way they should. The unit comes with a small WiFi antenna preinstalled, but you could conceivably upgrade to a much larger SMA antenna since this unit uses a common SMA connector.

    This stereo is similar to other “budget” android stereos in that it’s advertised as Android 13, but it’s actually Android 12. Touch screen also seems a bit slow and sluggish; probably because it only has 2GB RAM. I would have much rather had 4GB RAM and 32GB storage than 2GB RAM and 64GB storage.

    The volume dial works, but it’s a half blessing. At 1/4 volume, it’s already so loud that my ear drums want to burst and the car next to me is look at me weird for listening to a podcast so loud. Don’t get me wrong, I still prefer the existence of the volume dial. At minimum, it’s a nice feature to have to, because you can press down the dial button to immediately mute/unmute. On touchscreen only units, you have to swipe
    down to bring up the settings menu, then find your way into the settings, and then swipe on the slider or repeatedly press up/down on -/+ to change volume. You cannot hold down up/down to increase or decrease volume, which is far more annoying.

    The placement of the PD USB-C port is a bit weird though. If your stereo unit is installed high or near eye level, this means running a charging cable will hang down be kind of in the way of the the volume dial/mute button. It’s also odd that this thing has a illumination connector that should provide a signal to dim the unit when the headlights turn on, but as far as I can tell, it doesn’t do anything. Then again, since there are no USB port or button lights, so it’s hard to tell if it’s suppose to do anything.

I hoped to put it in my 2014 Kia soul however it started developing other issues that prevented me from wanting to install this. If I aqire another vehicle that doesn’t already have an upgraded screen system this one will be great
