President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take the White House tonight during his inauguration as the next leader of the U.S. This will mark the second time that Trump has won the presidential election, with the first being in his 2016 run. With Trump taking office comes an increased interest in crypto stocks.
Stay Ahead of the Market:
Crypto is a hot topic for incoming President Trump as he’s signaled dedication to these digital assets. For example, Trump and his wife Melania launched two crypto tokens before taking office. These are trading under the TRUMP and MELANIA tickers and quickly attracted investors’ attention.
Additionally, Trump desires to create a Bitcoin(BTC) reserve. This would have the U.S. holding BTC akin to how it holds gold. The government would use Bitcoin seized by authorities to kick off this reserve.
What This Means for Crypto Stocks
With all of this positive sentiment toward crypto, it’s no surprise several crypto stocks rallied on Friday ahead of Trump’s inauguration. Marathon Digital (MARA) closed out Friday 8.8% higher, Microstrategy (MSTR) was up 8.04% when the bell rang, and Coinbase Global (COIN) had jumped 4.92% when normal trading hours ended that day.
The real question is how these stocks will perform after Trump takes the White House. The crypto stock sector is likely to undergo a rally while Trump is President of the U.S. That might not last his whole term, but traders can expect extreme movement in the first few weeks as crypto stocks adjust to the change.
MARA vs. MSTR vs. COIN: Which Crypto Stocks Are Worth Betting On?
Using the TipRanks stock comparison tool, traders can deduce which crypto stocks offer the best potential profits during a Trump presidency. A quick look shows MARA has the most upside potential at 39.63%, with MSTR following it at 33.56%. However, investors might be wary of COIN stock and its potential 0.56% downside.
As the presidential election approaches, many investors are keeping a close eye on the potential impact a Trump victory could have on the cryptocurrency market. In particular, stocks like MARA (Marathon Digital Holdings), MSTR (MicroStrategy), and COIN (Coinbase) are poised to benefit from a Trump administration.
Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA) is a leading digital asset mining company that has seen significant growth in recent months. With a focus on mining Bitcoin, MARA stands to benefit from any pro-crypto policies that a Trump administration may implement.
MicroStrategy (MSTR) is another crypto stock that could see a boost under a Trump presidency. The business intelligence firm has been investing heavily in Bitcoin and has seen its stock price soar as a result. A Trump win could further validate MicroStrategy’s bullish stance on cryptocurrency.
Coinbase (COIN), the popular cryptocurrency exchange, is also likely to thrive under a Trump administration. As more retail and institutional investors flock to digital assets, Coinbase stands to benefit from increased trading volume and revenue.
Overall, the outlook for crypto stocks like MARA, MSTR, and COIN looks promising if Trump takes the White House. Investors should keep a close watch on these companies as the election draws nearer.
The city of Jacksonville Jacksonville opened warming centers over the next few days to ensure that residents have a place to go when the temperatures drop. Meanwhile, JEA said it has additional crews on standby ready to respond to potential outages.
This cold is something Floridians are not used to but several people News4JAX spoke with said they are preparing.
Cheyenne Greer and Annabella Bentley shopped at Walmart Monday evening to prepare for Tuesday’s incoming winter weather.
“I don’t know what I’m gonna wear, like, like, ‘What’s cute to wear?’” Cheyenne Greer said.
No matter what type of winter weather Jacksonville sees, Karen McCallister, Public Information Officer for JEA, said they’re ready for whatever it brings.
“We prepare throughout the year for severe weather, whether it’s hurricanes or freezing temperatures like we have now,” McCallister said.
Davin Martis and Collin Hand learned about the incoming winter weather when News4JAX approached them outside of Walmart. They said they’re more concerned about what the winter weather will do outside.
“The only concerns, I would say, is the roads, because the roads, they get water on them when it rains. So, I mean, if the roads are going to be freezing, I don’t know how that’s going to turn out. But other than that, think we might be prepared, yeah, cross our fingers that we’re all okay,” Davin Martis and Collin Hand said. “We all know work is going to make us come in, so hopefully the roads are all good.”
More crews will be ready in the event JEA needs them.
“We do have some additional crew members on standby, ready to respond in the event of outages caused by any hail storms,” McCallister said.
The City of Jacksonville said it will open its warming centers through 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Legends Center: 5054 Soutel Dr., open overnight from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. (Monday-Friday)
Jacksonville Public Main Library: 303 N. Laura St. (Monday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
COJ Libraries and Community Centers: Open during regular business hours starting Tuesday, serving as daytime warming centers.
The city’s non-profit partners at area shelters will also provide cold-weather shelter services to the homeless population. These shelters include:
City Rescue Mission: 234 W. State Street in Jacksonville; Check-in at 6:30 p.m.; Shelter will be available until temperatures are at least 40°.
Mission House: 800 Shetter Avenue in Jacksonville Beach;
Cold Night Shelter: Community Presbyterian, 150 Sherry Drive in Atlantic Beach
Sulzbacher Center: 611 East Adams Street in Jacksonville for men; 5455 Springfield Blvd in Jacksonville for women and children. Open for overflow any night that is below 40°.
Trinity Rescue Mission: 622 W. Union Street in Jacksonville. Men: check-in at 4 p.m.; women and children: check-in at 1:30 p.m.
Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) said schools will be open as normal on Tuesday.
“We continue to monitor the weather, and [Tuesday] afternoon, we will announce a decision about Wednesday,” a DCPS spokesperson said.

As Duval County residents prepare for the impending winter storm, Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) is assuring customers that they are prepared to respond to any potential power outages.
With the forecast calling for freezing temperatures, strong winds, and the possibility of ice accumulation, JEA is urging residents to take precautions and be prepared for the possibility of power interruptions. The utility company has crews on standby and additional resources ready to be deployed in the event of widespread outages.
JEA spokesperson, Sarah Jones, stated, “We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and are ready to respond quickly to any power outages that may occur. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our customers, and we want to assure them that we are prepared to handle any challenges that may arise.”
Residents are encouraged to report any outages or downed power lines to JEA immediately and to stay away from any potentially hazardous situations. JEA also recommends that residents have an emergency kit prepared, including flashlights, batteries, non-perishable food, and a portable phone charger.
As the winter storm approaches, JEA is committed to keeping the community safe and informed. Stay tuned to local news outlets and JEA’s social media channels for updates on the situation and tips on how to stay safe during inclement weather. Stay warm and stay safe, Duval County!

It’s hard to call the Bulls’ embarrassing loss Friday to the Hornets rock bottom for their front office, especially when the floor continues sinking.
It’s no secret executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas has been actively shopping veterans Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic since the summer, hoping to acquire draft assets and build a better future. But now it’s becoming clear that even some pieces the Bulls were counting on to be part of that future are looking more suspect than prospect.
A source Saturday told the Sun-Times that Karnisovas finally has bought in to the idea that 23-year-old forward Patrick Williams needs a change of scenery, opening the door for him to be on the trade block, too.
The problem is that such a move also might be too little, too late.
The Bulls started making LaVine available a year after they gave him a max contract, allowed Andre Drummond to walk into free agency months after turning down second-round picks for him in a prospective trade and are shopping Vucevic, who has the rest of this season and next season left on his contract. Now there’s Williams, whom they signed to a five-year, $90 million extension last summer.
Williams was a restricted free agent at the time, so the Bulls could have let him test the market and get an offer, then decide whether to match it or let him walk. Instead, they signed him without any competition.
So why the change of heart?
The Bulls’ coaching staff has been trying to unlock Williams’ potential for years. And while he has had setbacks with injuries, the source said Williams hasn’t been easy to work with.
As is the case with most NBA teams, individual coaches are matched up with individual players, and there has been frustration on both sides with previous matchups. The source stressed that Williams hasn’t been volatile or difficult in terms of his behavior. It’s more about him not being completely comfortable to buy in to what’s being communicated.
Director of player development Peter Patton has stepped in to take over those duties, and it seemed as though Williams was finally on to something when he averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in November.
In Williams’ last nine games, however, he has averaged a disappointing 6.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.
Williams hasn’t just gone backward, he has regressed to the point where coach Billy Donovan continues cutting his minutes. Against the Hornets, he played 17 minutes, scored five points, didn’t grab a rebound and was minus-17 in plus/minus.
After the game, Donovan was asked whether he was concerned about Williams, whom the Bulls drafted with the No. 4 overall pick in 2020.
‘‘I don’t want to use the word ‘concerned,’ but I think Patrick’s heart is in a really good place as it relates to our team, and I think he really wants to do well,’’ Donovan said. ‘‘ . . . I think the next iteration, the next part of it, at least offensively, is going to end up being, ‘What are the [plays] I need to go in and finish [and] what are the ones I need to spray out?’ And when he does spray it out, taking care of the ball.
‘‘The other part of it, too, for our team, we need more rebounding from him. I think he’s made the effort to try and go there, but we probably need to get a little more out of him. But I’m not concerned about him. I know this stretch for him has not been good, but he has had moments where he has been pretty good. I think he does work; I think he’s a good player. He’s up in a tough stretch right now. He’s still going through a maturation process offensively.’’
According to a source close to the Chicago Bulls organization, the team is ready to add forward Patrick Williams to the trade block. Williams, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, has shown flashes of potential but has struggled to find consistency in his game.
With the Bulls looking to make a playoff push this season, they are reportedly open to exploring trade options that could help bolster their roster. Williams, who is just 20 years old, could be a valuable asset in potential trade talks as he is seen as a promising young player with room to grow.
It remains to be seen what kind of offers the Bulls will receive for Williams, but it is clear that the team is open to making moves in order to improve their chances of success this season. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
Jack Sawyer, Sonny Styles, Lorenzo Styles Jr., Ty Hamilton and Max Lominaco are current Buckeyes who graduated from Pickerington schools.
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — If one thing’s for sure, Pickerington pride runs deep as five of the district’s graduates gear up for the national title game.
Jack Sawyer, who amplified Pickerington’s talent after his clutch scoop and score in the Cotton Bowl, graduated from Pickerington North High School.
“His work ethic, leadership and toughness is probably what separates him from the other guys that probably don’t have the success he’s had,” said Pickerington North head football coach Nate Hillerich, who also coached Sawyer in high school.
Hillerich said Sawyer is an incredible role model who his current players admire.
“That’s what’s so great about Jack, the relationships he’s made. I think if you ask anyone at Ohio State or Pickerington North and they all love him and know he’s a good guy,” he said.
Former Ohio State and NFL linebacker Lorenzo Styles has two sons on the team, Sonny Styles and Lorenzo Styles Jr. Both men graduated from Pickerington Central High School.
“It gives me great pride and joy to see the fruits of their hard work pay off and get an opportunity to play in this type of game,” said Styles.
Styles described Pickerington players as gritty and determined.
“Blue collar hard work individuals, you know we are going to get up every day, put our hard hats on and grind at whatever we’re going to do,” he added.
As the entire state of Ohio gears up for the big game on Monday, popular spots like Roosters in Pickerington are ready to rumble.
“There’s an extra special place in our hearts in Pickerington for these players because they’re from this hometown,” said Nicole Cox, vice president of marketing for Roosters in Pickerington.
Jack Sawyer, Sonny Styles, Lorenzo Styles Jr., Ty Hamilton and Max Lominaco are current Buckeyes who graduated from Pickerington schools.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for the national title game, and Pickerington is well-represented on the roster. Here are five Buckeyes from Pickerington who are ready to bring home the championship:
1. Jaelen Gill – The wide receiver from Pickerington North High School has been a key playmaker for the Buckeyes this season. With his speed and agility, Gill is sure to make an impact in the national title game.
2. Zach Harrison – The defensive end from Pickerington Central High School has been a force to be reckoned with on the Buckeyes’ defense. Harrison’s size and strength make him a formidable opponent for any offense.
3. Xavier Henderson – The safety from Pickerington Central High School has been a leader on the Buckeyes’ defense all season. Henderson’s football IQ and playmaking ability will be crucial in the national title game.
4. Trent Gillison – The tight end from Pickerington Central High School has been a reliable target for the Buckeyes’ offense. Gillison’s hands and route-running ability make him a valuable asset in the passing game.
5. Ty Hamilton – The defensive tackle from Pickerington Central High School has been a disruptive force on the Buckeyes’ defensive line. Hamilton’s size and agility make him a tough matchup for opposing offenses.
With these five Buckeyes from Pickerington leading the way, the Ohio State Buckeyes are primed and ready to compete for the national title. Let’s go Bucks! #GoBuckeyes #NationalTitleGameBound

Phil Ruffin plans to die at his desk in Las Vegas. On a Wednesday in December, the 89-year-old casino billionaire is sitting right where he plans to cash in his chips—in his office at Treasure Island, the Strip casino-hotel he bought from MGM for $775 million in 2009 (or about $1.1 billion today)—and brushes off the idea of retiring.
“What am I going to do, watch TV?” says Ruffin, wearing a crisp white shirt under a blue blazer. “We live a long time—my mother lived to 103, but I took the car away from her when she was 95.”
Most days, Ruffin is at his desk, which is covered with papers, an oversized calculator and a magnifying glass, by 5 a.m. because he also owns Casino Miami in Florida, three time zones away. “If there is a problem, I can handle it,” he says.
Right now, however, he’s focused on his other property in Vegas, the legendary Circus Circus, which sits on 102 acres on the north end of the Strip, close to the Sphere and the new Fontainebleau hotel. Ruffin says he has been approached by buyers to sell Circus Circus.
“Let’s just say there is interest,” he says coyly. “It’s worth $5 billion.”
Big Top: Circus Circus opened in 1968 as Las Vegas’ first family-friendly hotel. Ruffin bought the property in 2019 for $825 million.
AaronP/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images
Ruffin, who Forbes estimates is worth a conservative $4.7 billion—although he says he is closer to $8 billion—bought Circus Circus for $825 million from MGM in 2019 (roughly $1 billion today). Originally built in 1968 by Jay Sarno, a Vegas hall-of-famer who opened Caesars Palace two years earlier, the property featured live circus acts, trained elephants and monkeys on the gaming floor, and was billed as Sin City’s first family-friendly casino. The property struggled until Bill Bennett and William Pennington took it over in the 1970s, establishing it as one of the city’s most iconic properties.
The monkeys and elephants are long-gone, and the casino has seen better days. “Have you been in there? It’s gruesome,” says an executive of a high-end casino further down the Strip. “The North Strip is a rough neighborhood.” (Case in point: In 2018, a man broke into a room at Circus Circus and stabbed and killed two people.) But its budget reputation, indoor theme park, live circus performers, and cheap room rates still attract its bread-and-butter demographic: middle-class gamblers with kids.
“We do well,” says Ruffin. “We sell$2 beer, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn. People love it. A guy can eat and drink for six bucks.”
But Ruffin did not buy Circus Circus only to cater to the low rollers of Las Vegas. He bought it for its potential upside, he says, glancing at his $100,000 Patek Philippe watch.
“Why do you think I bought Circus Circus? For the 102 acres,” he says. “That’s the land play. Remember what I did at the Frontier, how the value of the land went crazy—here it’s going crazier.”
In 1998, Ruffin bought the Frontier for $165 million (around $320 million today), which was plagued by a labor strike until Ruffin settled it. Nine years later, he sold the Frontier for $1.2 billion—seven times what he paid for it. While Nevada as a whole is on a winning streak, breaking gaming revenue records in each of the last four years, businesses on the northern end of the Strip are struggling.
The Sphere, sports mogul James Dolan’s new $2.3 billion venue near the north end of Las Vegas Boulevard, is attracting thousands of fans to sold-out shows but lost $480 million last year. Resorts World Las Vegas, which opened in 2021, recently reported its worst quarter in two years with revenues down 23%. The Fontainebleau, partly owned by Koch Real Estate Investments, is reportedly struggling to find its financial footing. But there are positive developments in Sin City: the Oakland A’s are moving to a new stadium on the site of the recently demolished Tropicana casino. And Ruffin has some valuable land for sale.
“It’s the best piece of land on the West Coast,” he boasts. “It’s got the highway, it’s got the Sahara, it’s got 2,000 feet on the Strip, and it’s the last Strip property. And 102 acres is just a massive amount of land—you can almost build a city on it.”
Though Ruffin is prone to exaggeration, he has a proven track record and is well-respected in Las Vegas. Soo Kim, the chairman of Bally’s Corporation and the managing partner of hedge fund Standard General, considers Ruffin a legendary businessman.
“He is a smart guy, and his purchase of Treasure Island was genius,” says Kim, who is in the process of taking Bally’s private in a $4.6 billion deal. “He is part of the fabric of Las Vegas gaming.”
Chad Beynon, a gaming analyst at Macquarie, says that venues like the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Sphere and new properties like the Fontainebleau have become major attractions in Ruffin’s part of town. “The overall center of gravity continues to shift to the north end of the Strip,” says Beynon.
Trump and Ruffin have been friends for decades. Trump was Ruffin’s best man, and they’ve spent the last 12 New Year’s Eves together at Mar-a-Lago. This year, Ruffin said he sat at the same table as billionaire and mega GOP donor Miriam Adelson, who cofounded the Las Vegas Sands casino empire with her husband, Sheldon, who died in 2021. Also in attendance: the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, who donated more than $200 million to the Trump campaign and has become a key adviser to the president-elect.
“I told [Musk] that he’s a credit to the United States,” says Ruffin. “The richest man in the world, for God’s sake. That kid is very smart.”

Ruffin says that he talks to Trump regularly, pointing to a framed photo of the two billionaires in the Oval Office. “I speak to him all the time,” says Ruffin, who will attend the inauguration. “I give him suggestions; he doesn’t take [them].”
Ruffin’s most recent suggestion was to make Marco Rubio Trump’s Vice President. But Trump picked Ohio Senator JD Vance. (Trump nominated Rubio to be Secretary of State instead.) Ruffin and Trump have also discussed tariffs, which Ruffin believes are necessary to protect American manufacturing and jobs. (Ruffin owns Harper Trucks, a small hand truck manufacturer in Kansas.)
“I wouldn’t presume to tell him what to do on tariffs,” he says. “Tariffs are not new. It’s like buying shelf space in a big supermarket, and the U.S. is the big supermarket. Tariffs would be appropriate in some fashion, but that’s for Mr. Trump to figure out.”
The two billionaires have also talked about the Panama Canal, which President Trump has said needs to be controlled by the United States. “We did agree that something needs to be done with the Panama Canal,” he says. “I can’t imagine us giving away that canal for $1, as President Carter did. It is critical.” Ruffin also agrees with Trump’s tough stance on immigration: “He’s going to concentrate on the criminals, and everybody’s in favor of that,” he says. As for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Ruffin, whose wife is Ukrainian, says Trump will end that war. “If anybody can settle it, Donald can,” he says.
Politics aside, Ruffin is in the process of building a new casino in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas, at what was a greyhound racing track he owns. He is investing $200 million on the site, building what will become The Golden Circle, which will feature slot-machine-like parimutuel games, a honky-tonk called Gilley’s Saloon and an outdoor concert venue. It is expected to open this fall.
When Ruffin sells Circus Circus, he plans to buy another property on the Strip with the proceeds. If he invests the money into another business, he will be able to avoid paying capital gains. His preference is to buy something in Vegas, where Brendan Bussmann, a gaming analyst, says “everything is always on the table” at the right price. But if Vegas does not work out for Ruffin’s next move, he is willing to look for opportunities in other states. “I have my eyes on some properties,” says Ruffin, elusively. “It could be in another town, if it’s good enough.”
Ruffin is confident his next big bet will work out, but he has a nice cushion to fall back on regardless of what happens. “I have more money than I can handle,” he says. But that doesn’t mean the self-made billionaire forgets where he came from: a working-class state-champion high school wrestler from Wichita. “I started out with zero—nothing,” he says. “I got down, one time, to 28 cents.”

Phil Ruffin, a close friend and business associate of former President Donald Trump, is reportedly looking to sell the aging Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas. Ruffin, who purchased the iconic casino back in 2019, has seen a decline in revenue and foot traffic in recent years, prompting him to explore a potential sale.
The Circus Circus Casino, known for its family-friendly atmosphere and affordable accommodations, has struggled to compete with the newer, more upscale resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. Ruffin, who also owns the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, is looking to offload Circus Circus in order to focus on his other properties and investments.
While no official announcement has been made yet, sources close to Ruffin say that he is actively seeking potential buyers for the casino. With its prime location and potential for redevelopment, Circus Circus could be an attractive investment for a savvy developer or hospitality company.
As one of the wealthiest individuals in the country, Phil Ruffin has a long history of successful business ventures and real estate acquisitions. His decision to sell Circus Circus comes at a time when the Las Vegas hospitality industry is rebounding from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, making it an opportune moment for a potential sale.
Stay tuned for more updates on Phil Ruffin’s plans for Circus Circus Casino as the story continues to develop.
After four years of inflation, chaos at our borders, and weakness on the world stage, the United States is turning the page. President Trump’s inauguration will usher in a new era focused on American strength – including a strong economy, a strong border and a strong military.
I expect we will see the president take action immediately to secure the border and undo Biden administration policies that threaten America’s energy security. And Republicans in Congress will work tirelessly to amplify his efforts.
We are already hard at work on legislation to accomplish two of our biggest priorities – providing the resources necessary to secure the border and extending the tax relief Republicans passed during the first Trump administration.

The Senate took an initial step on border security this past week with consideration of the Laken Riley Act, which will ensure that illegal aliens who steal, assault a law enforcement officer, or kill or seriously injure another person are detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement instead of being allowed out on the streets.
We’re looking to pass the bill in the Senate Monday and get it to the president’s desk shortly thereafter. Congressional Republicans will also deploy the Congressional Review Act to undo burdensome Biden administration regulations.
The voters handed President Trump a decisive victory in November. And now the real work begins: delivering on the mandate they’ve given us.
The Senate is also hard at work making sure President Trump has the team he needs in place. Senate committees have held hearings on 12 of President Trump’s nominees so far, with more on the way.
Last Wednesday, our committees held six hearings on Cabinet confirmations in one day, the most Cabinet confirmation hearings in a single day since 2001. Once nominees are out of committee, we’ll be working to quickly schedule confirmation votes on the Senate floor, with the goal of getting the president’s full Cabinet in place as soon as possible.
It’s going to be a new day in the executive branch in Washington. President Trump’s nominees are going to be focused on work, not woke. The days of executive branch agencies targeting conservative Americans, pushing extreme social policies, and advancing the social and environmental fantasies of the far left are over.
How refreshing it will be to have an administration focused on relieving regulatory burdens, promoting a strong economy and building up our military. The Trump administration – and Republicans in Congress – will also be focused on increasing government efficiency. When we see a way to eliminate waste or save taxpayer dollars, we’re going to take it.
I don’t think it’s any coincidence that there’s a new optimism in the air since November. President Trump’s belief in our country and our citizens is contagious. He reminds us that anything is possible in America, and that while we may have had a tough four years under the Biden administration, we have everything we need to come back stronger.
The voters handed President Trump a decisive victory in November. And now the real work begins: delivering on the mandate they’ve given us.
I am confident that with President Trump’s leadership and Republicans working together, we can spend the next four years building a stronger and more prosperous America, and a bright new future for the American people.
As the newly-elected Senate Majority Whip, Leader John Thune is ready to lead Congress in working alongside President Trump to deliver on the mandate given by the American people. With a clear vision for the future and a commitment to putting the needs of the American people first, Thune is determined to make progress on key issues such as healthcare, infrastructure, and national security.
Thune believes in the power of collaboration and bipartisanship, and is eager to work with members of both parties to find common ground and move the country forward. He understands the challenges facing our nation and is dedicated to finding solutions that benefit all Americans.
As we enter a new era of leadership, Thune is confident that by working together, Congress and the President can make meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to the American people. With a strong leader like Thune at the helm, there is no limit to what can be accomplished.
As you wake up this morning, and walk outside, not only will you experience lows in the 30s, but wind chills have it feeling more like we’re in the 20s across parts of the viewing area.
These cold temperatures aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Starting Tuesday evening into overnight, we’re expecting a wintry mix to move through Georgia and Florida.
Beginning Tuesday evening, Georgia will begin to see a wintry mix, and it continues to move into Florida during the overnight hours.
Snow is likely in Georgia, while most of Florida is set to see sleet and freezing rain.
Black ice on the roads could be a big issue — and remember bridges freeze first.
Power outages could be a problem because when you have ice reaching .10″ to .25″, it can cause damage to power lines and weigh down trees.
Freezing low temperatures are expected for Tuesday and Wednesday as the wintry mix moves through, and wind chills will be in the 20s.
Things begin to improve mid-day Wednesday, as a low-pressure system forms across the Gulf and moves through South Florida.
