  • James Gunn’s Superman Poster Recreated With Smallville’s Tom Welling In A Full Superhero Suit Looks Incredible In DC Art

Following the debut of James Gunn’s Superman poster with David Corenswet, Tom Welling’s version of the DC icon from Smallville gets his own version of it. After having been gone from the big screen for several years, Krypton’s last son is about to make his return to the world of cinema with the DCU Superman movie. One of the biggest takeaways from late 2024 was the release of the Superman poster, which received a lot of praise from the DC Universe audience ahead of Corenswet’s film being released this summer.

Corenswet’s Superman poster style became a very popular concept, and it didn’t take long for other past versions of the Man of Steel to get imagined with that design. To show what Smallville’s Superman would look like with the DCU poster, Buffy2Ville shared new artwork of Welling’s Man of Tomorrow getting the same poster treatment as Corenswet’s Superman. Check it out below:

Welling, who starred as Clark Kent for a decade on Smallville and gave the world the ultimate Superman origin story, is, to this point, the actor to have played the DC icon the longest in any live-action format. While Smallville ended in 2011, Welling did reprise the role in 2019’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover as part of the Arrowverse franchise, where he shared the screen once again with Erica Durance as Lois Lane.

What The Tom Welling’s David Corenswet Superman Poster Art Treatment Means For The Hero’s Legacy

Seeing Welling’s Superman getting imagined with Corenswet’s DCU style is a testament to the marketing team at DC Studios, with many fans getting attached to the poster while also wanting to see other Supermen in a similar light. Since there hasn’t been a Superman movie since Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, film marketing has obviously changed in many ways. Corenswet’s Superman poster was a bit of an homage to previous material while also showcasing that this is a Man of Steel for the next generation.

However, the DCU’s Superman marketing also shows that there are so many ways to portray the beloved DC hero in the world of live-action. Corenswet’s Superman film will obviously feel different from Henry Cavill’s version in the DCEU movie timeline, the same way he was unique from Welling’s characterization in Smallville. That is why it will be exciting to see in what other ways DC Studios will display Superman as they keep promoting the movie throughout 2025.

Our Take On Tom Welling’s David Corenswet Superman Poster Art Treatment

Seeing Welling’s Superman being combined with Corenswet’s DCU film poster makes the idea of seeing the Smallville star back as the Man of Steel in his own franchise even more appealing. If the Smallville animated TV sequel show ever gets greenlit, it would be the perfect Elseworlds property for DC Studios, with the DCU’s Superman still establishing himself in his world, while Welling’s incarnation serves as more of a seasoned superhero in a different universe. But for the time being, the next live-action focus for the DC icon will be with Superman when it finally arrives in theaters this summer.

  • How ‘September 5’ director Tim Fehlbaum re-created ABC’s Munich studio

How ‘September 5’ director Tim Fehlbaum re-created ABC’s Munich studio

With his latest film, Tim Fehlbaum wanted to find a way to add to our understanding of a horrific moment in history that he first learned of as a teenager watching the Oscar-winning 1999 documentary “One Day in September.”

The Swiss filmmaker and his co-screenwriter, Moritz Binder, found the story that would become “September 5” in ABC. It was the only network then with a live camera, and its sports team was thrown into becoming the globe’s real-time eyes and ears, navigating a new technology-driven and morally tricky journalism during an early-morning terrorist attack on Israeli athletes at the Munich Summer Olympics in 1972. “They were the most important channel that day,” says the 42-year-old Fehlbaum. “I was intrigued immediately by the media aspect, to tell it entirely through the control room’s perspective.”

Meeting with eyewitness Geoffrey Mason, now a veteran sports TV executive but then a producing newbie (played in the film by John Magaro), sparked Fehlbaum’s storytelling approach: Mason described a situation that sounded to the writer-director like an ethics thriller as much as a slice of history. “I asked him if they’d reflected on the consequences of their broadcast, and he said to us simply, ‘There was no time for that. We were too busy covering what was happening in real life,’’’ recalls Fehlbaum. “We realized that’s how the movie had to feel, with these questions constantly asked against a ticking clock.”

Mason’s memories also affected how Fehlbaum, who’d gone to film school in Munich, wanted to shoot the ABC control room that production designer Julian Wagner built at the city’s Bavaria Studios. “Mason told us they constantly felt trapped in that little studio,” says Fehlbaum, “so we chose to have no moving walls. We wanted everything to be close to the camera, to feel really claustrophobic. I like movies that draw their strength from a limitation of space. We wanted to shoot it as if we were a reporter team in that room that day, documentary-style. We wanted long takes, really tight, and to be able to pan anywhere.” Even the detail Mason offered up that the air conditioning wasn’t working that grim day became a point of verisimilitude for Fehlbaum, so he turned it off on the Bavaria stage. “I wanted the actors to really sweat.”

Fehlbaum also wanted to secure access to ABC’s original footage to avoid green-screen placeholders and allow his cast — including Peter Sarsgaard as Roone Arledge — to see and manipulate a bank of working monitors showing actual film and tape. The producers, benefiting from their relationship with Mason, locked up clearances just in time for the 32-day shoot.

The filmmakers didn’t want to have to cast anyone as Jim McKay, whose much-admired anchoring that day earned him a place in broadcast history and, from their perspective, was worthy of being shown in original form. “His performance is essential, a very special blend of being professional and sometimes letting emotions overcome him,” says Fehlbaum. “He was unique.”

Although ABC’s studio could be rebuilt from original plans, the devices — walkie-talkies, phones, tape machines, all state-of-the-art technology then — couldn’t be replicated if they were to be used accurately onscreen. Collectors helped save the day for the filmmakers. “You would be surprised how many passionate collectors there are,” Fehlbaum says. “One guy was obsessed with Munich ’72. We went to his apartment, and he had one of those huge cameras.”

Fehlbaum takes pride that viewers have praised the film for giving them a palpable sense of how “old-school television” worked, saying “United 93,” a favorite of his, similarly took him inside a plane’s inner workings as a specific frame for a tragic story. But he also knows that last year’s Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, which happened as “September 5” was in postproduction, will shade how audiences absorb his film. “Of course, our movie touches that subject, a conflict that has never ended and is relevant today,” he says. “But I’m confident it will be seen as telling a story on how to report something like that.”

Dramatizing the mix of expertise and improvisation that went into covering an unfolding nightmare has affected the filmmaker’s view of journalism. “I had a lot of respect before for it but even more now, how complex it is,” says Fehlbaum. “These were sports reporters, so they had an innocent view on questions like, ‘Can we show violence on TV?’

“A lot of the questions they raise, they didn’t know how to answer, and I wouldn’t know how to answer,” he continues. “So we wanted to tell it from that perspective.”

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children recreated in ‘creepy’ AI Christmas card: ‘So very weird’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children recreated in ‘creepy’ AI Christmas card: ‘So very weird’

A fake Christmas card with what appears to be an AI-generated photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children has gone viral on social media.

A royal fan reportedly created the digital card with an alleged glimpse at the couple’s rarely seen children: Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

The black-and-white picture features the fake Archie dressed in a sweater and cargo pants, posing next to his little sister, who appears to be wearing the same floral dress that the actual Lilibet has on in the Sussexes’ real Christmas card.

The edited image also shows versions of Harry and Meghan’s rescue dogs, Mia and Guy, behind the kids.

“Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet,” the fake card reads.

The picture made its rounds on X (formerly Twitter) as critics called the image out for clearly being fake.

    “Creepy,” one fan wrote.

“This is so very weird,” someone else said.

“A complete fabrication, 100% AI. And to think some people will believe this is real,” another tweet read.

Another user wrote, “Lili looks more like Archie than Archie does.”

“No one can create an AI generated picture of Archie & Lili because we simply don’t know how their faces look like. Therefore AI doesn’t know either. The last photos of their faces are from when they were babies, and children’s appearances are changing with a speed of light,” a different fan said.

“The kids don’t even look like brother and sister. They look like exactly what they are AI,” another tweet read.

“Worst photoshop ever,” somebody else wrote

The Post has reached out to Harry and Meghan’s reps for comment.

Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, released their real Christmas card earlier this month, with a rare snapshot of their two children.

One of the six photos on the card features Archie and Lilibet — who both have red hair, just like their dad — running toward their parents. The family’s three dogs are in the picture as well.

The card includes five other photos of Harry and Meghan during their trips to Nigeria and Colombia earlier this year.

“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation,” the Christmas card’s message read.

“We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year,” it added.

Last week, Harry and Meghan and their kids enjoyed a quiet Christmas at home in California after they were once again snubbed from the guest list for the royal family’s annual get-together at Sandringham House.

They celebrated the holiday with Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, at their Montecito home, according to royal biographer Ingrid Seward.

“Meghan says it’s important for her that Archie and Lilibet can have ‘connective memories’ of Thanksgiving and Christmas at home and enjoy the traditions like putting out ‘carrots for the reindeer,” Seward told the Mirror.

The rest of Harry’s estranged family congregated in St. Mary Magdalene Church on Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on Christmas Day.

King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, who have attended morning mass at Sandringham Church annually on Christmas for years, were joined by Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children have been recreated in a ‘creepy’ AI Christmas card that has left many people feeling unsettled.

The card, created by a digital artist using artificial intelligence, features lifelike images of the couple’s two children, Archie and Lilibet, alongside their parents. The AI-generated images are eerily realistic, with the children’s faces appearing almost too perfect and flawless.

Many people have taken to social media to express their discomfort with the AI Christmas card, with some calling it “so very weird” and “creepy.” Some have even speculated about the implications of using AI to create images of real people, particularly children.

While AI technology has advanced in recent years, creating incredibly realistic images and videos, there is still a sense of unease when it comes to recreating real people, especially young children, in this way. The debate over the ethical implications of AI-generated content is likely to continue as the technology becomes more widespread.

Not wanting to take the class anymore and put her relationships first, Stephanie purposely messed up the dance during the recital but after a talk with Danny, she apologized to her fellow dancers.
