  • Russia says U.S. relations are on brink of collapse, refuses to confirm Trump call claim

The Kremlin said Monday that U.S.-Russia relations were on the brink of collapse and refused to confirm whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken with President Donald Trump, despite Trump saying so Sunday.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told a media conference Monday that relations with Washington “are balancing on the brink of a breakup” and reiterated that the war in Ukraine would last until Kyiv drops its ambitions to join NATO and withdraws from the four regions occupied by Russian forces.

In remarks suggesting Moscow is maintaining its tough negotiating stance, Ryabkov said that “we simply imperatively need to get … the new U.S. administration to understand and acknowledge that without resolving the problems that are the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine, it will not be possible to reach an agreement.”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the same day that he would “neither confirm nor deny” Trump’s comments to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday that he and Putin had spoken in his first officially acknowledged contact with the Russian leader since 2022.

Referring to his contact with the Russian leader, Trump told reporters, “let’s just say I’ve had it … and I expect to have many more conversations. We have to get that war ended.”

“I hate to see all these young people being killed. The soldiers are being killed by the hundreds of thousands,” he said, but declined to provide any more details about how many times the two had spoken, responding, “I’d better not say.”

The remarks from Trump and spokespeople for the Kremlin come at a crucial juncture for the war in Ukraine, with Kyiv and its European neighbors nervously awaiting details of Trump’s peace plan to end the conflict that Russia launched with its full-scale invasion three years ago.

Between winning election in November and being inaugurated last month, Trump said he planned to end the war in a single day upon taking office.

Referring to Trump’s remarks Sunday, Keir Giles, a senior fellow of the Russia and Eurasia Program at the London think-tank Chatham House, said “it would be tempting to think that this was all part of a careful plan for not releasing information too early in order not to bridge this process.”

“Or it could simply be that, as seems to be the case with Trump’s earlier promises of immediate action to bring the conflict to an end, that there isn’t, in fact, a plan yet,” he told NBC News.

Giles added that more clarity on the situation may come later this week, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy due to attend the high-profile Munich Security Conference, which senior U.S. officials are also attending.

Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, told NBC News’ Meet the Press” on Sunday that the U.S. officials would be “talking through the details of how to end this war and that will mean getting both sides to the table.”

He added that Trump would be “prepared to tax, to tariff, to sanction” Moscow to get Putin to the negotiating table, while also stripping back assistance to Ukraine to force European allies to ramp up support to Ukraine.

Ryabkov’s comments today came after Zelenskyy told the British broadcaster ITV last week that he was ready to hold talks with Russia as long as “I had an understanding that America and Europe will not abandon us and they will support us and provide security guarantees.”

The Ukrainian leader also told Reuters on Sunday that it was important he meets Trump before any negotiations with Putin, “otherwise, it will look like a dialogue about Ukraine without Ukraine.”

A Russian drone attack on Kyiv late Sunday injured a woman and damaged several houses in the northeastern city of Sumy, Ukrainian officials said Monday.

Relations between the United States and Russia have reached a critical point, with the Russian government declaring that they are on the brink of collapse. This statement comes as Russian officials refuse to confirm President Trump’s claim that he had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The escalating tensions between the two countries have raised concerns about the future of diplomatic relations and the potential for further conflict. The lack of communication and transparency between the two leaders only adds to the uncertainty surrounding the situation.

As the world watches closely to see how this situation unfolds, it is clear that the relationship between the United States and Russia is at a crossroads. The actions and decisions made in the coming days will have far-reaching implications for global politics and security.

  • The only on-screen death Samuel L Jackson refuses to accept

Samuel L Jackson has delivered some of the most memorable movie deaths in cinema history. Joe Pesci’s Tommy DeVito took him out in Goodfellas, while his demise at the hands of Emperor Palpatine marked a pivotal moment in the Star Wars prequel series. He was infamously devoured by a poorly rendered CGI shark in Deep Blue Sea, and sticking with computer-generated creatures, he met his end under the weight of none other than King Kong in 2017’s Kong: Skull Island.

If you ask a movie fan to name their favourite Jackson death, they might just say the one from Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster supreme, Jurassic Park. His character, Ray Arnold, goes on a mission to reset the facility’s security systems. Later, when Laura Dern’s Dr Ellie Sattler goes after her, she thinks she feels him putting his arm on her shoulder, only for it to be brilliantly revealed that a pack of velociraptors has torn off the limb. It’s a very memorable end – just not if you ask the man himself.

“I got killed in Jurassic Park. Well, they say I got killed,” he told GQ. “I still got this thing in my head where dude’s got one arm, and he’s around here riding around on Velociraptors. He made peace with them and figured out how to use them to his advantage or whatever.” An interesting theory from Jackson there, definitely not one that Michael Crichton ever followed up on in the original novel.

The star has some grounds to make this outlandish claim, as Arnold’s ‘death’ isn’t actually shown on screen. There were plans to film a longer, more elaborate scene depicting the character’s demise, but a hurricane destroyed the planned set. He features more prominently in the book than he does in the film, but Jackson was still able to make a splash with the minutes he was given. “Hold onto your butts” is one of the actor’s most quotable lines, to the point where it’s easy to forget that it actually comes from Jurassic Park

Spielberg’s prehistoric adventure was one of the earliest big movies Jackson starred in. He had established himself somewhat with brief appearances in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing and the Harrison Ford vehicle Patriot Games, but he wasn’t the household name he is today. Pulp Fiction, the movie that really made him a star, was still a year away. Being involved in Jurassic Park, even very briefly, was massive for the late bloomer’s rise. It became the highest-grossing movie of all time, marking the first (but not the last) time Jackson contributed to a financial juggernaut.

Ray Arnold isn’t the only character that Jackson thinks survived a run-in with the movie’s baddie. When asked by Entertainment Weekly if he thought Mace Windu was still alive in the ‘Star Wars’ universe, he replied, “Of course he is! Jedi can fall from amazing distances. And there’s a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?” In a franchise that is obsessed with bringing characters back from the dead, it’s amazing Windu hasn’t resurfaced since his presumed demise in 2005.

Whilst Arnold is almost certainly actually dead, the series is still alive and well thanks to the ‘Jurassic World’ movies. Maybe there is a chance we could see him crop up again – it’s not likely, but it is possible.

The only on-screen death Samuel L Jackson refuses to accept: Mace Windu’s demise in Star Wars.

Samuel L Jackson is known for his iconic roles and memorable performances, but there is one on-screen death that he simply cannot accept – the death of Mace Windu in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

In the film, Mace Windu, a Jedi Master played by Jackson, meets his end at the hands of Darth Sidious after a fierce battle. However, Jackson has expressed his disbelief and disappointment over the character’s fate, even going so far as to suggest that Mace Windu could have survived the fall and returned in future films.

Fans have also rallied behind Jackson’s sentiment, with many speculating about the possibility of Mace Windu making a comeback in the Star Wars universe. Whether or not this will happen remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – Samuel L Jackson will always refuse to accept the death of Mace Windu on-screen.

  • Laporta agrees, but Flick refuses

In a surprising turn of events, Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has reportedly agreed to bring in Hansi Flick as the club’s new manager. However, Flick has refused the offer, leaving fans shocked and puzzled.

Flick, who recently left his role as the head coach of the German national team, was seen as a top candidate to take over the reins at Barcelona following the departure of Ronald Koeman. Laporta’s willingness to bring in Flick was seen as a sign of ambition and a desire to return the club to its former glory.

But Flick’s refusal has thrown a wrench into Barcelona’s plans and left them scrambling to find a new manager before the start of the new season. It remains to be seen who will step in to lead the team, but one thing is for certain – the drama at Barcelona continues.

  • ‘I can fit in that car’: Detroit rapper sues after Lyft driver says she won’t fit in his vehicle, refuses ride

A Lyft driver denied a Detroit rapper a ride because of her size – and now she’s suing.

Dajua Blanding, known on stage as Dank Demoss, requested a ride to a Detroit Lions watch party earlier this month. However, when the driver arrived, he saw Blanding and told her he couldn’t give her a ride because of her weight. Blanding was recording the encounter.

    The backstory:

At first, the driver told Blanding she wouldn’t fit in his sedan.

“I can fit in this car,” she can be heard saying, to which he responded, “Believe me, you can’t.”

The driver then told Blanding his tires couldn’t handle the weight, apologized, and mentioned ordering an Uber XL – a larger vehicle. He added that he would refund the ride so she wouldn’t be charged.

Blanding says she could have fit.

“I’ve been in cars smaller than that,” she told FOX 2. “I just want them to know that it hurt my feelings.”

Blanding has retained attorneys Jonathan Marko and Zach Runyan to sue for discrimination.

    What they’re saying:

“I knew that it was illegal, and I knew that it was wrong,” Marko said.

He said weight is a protected characteristic in Michigan. Marko said that denying someone a ride based on their weight would be the same as denying someone because of their race or religion – at least under the law.

Lyft drivers can turn down passengers for perceived security threats, but Marko said they cannot deny a ride based on protected characteristics.

    The other side:

    Lyft released a statement:

“Lyft unequivocally condemns all forms of discrimination—we believe in a community where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness. Our community guidelines and terms of service explicitly prohibit harassment or discrimination.”

    What’s next:

The rideshare company has been served with the lawsuit.

The Source: FOX 2 interviewed Dajua Blanding and attorney Jonathan Marko for this story.

Detroit rapper, MC Rhyme Queen, is taking legal action against Lyft after a driver refused to give her a ride, claiming she wouldn’t fit in his vehicle. The incident occurred when Rhyme Queen, who is known for her fierce lyrics and confident attitude, requested a ride to a studio session.

Upon arrival, the Lyft driver allegedly looked at Rhyme Queen and told her she wouldn’t be able to fit in his car due to her size. Despite Rhyme Queen’s protests and insistence that she could indeed fit in the vehicle, the driver refused to give her a ride.

Feeling discriminated against and humiliated, Rhyme Queen is now suing Lyft for discrimination and emotional distress. She believes that no one should be denied a ride based on their appearance or size, and she is determined to fight for justice and equality.

In a statement, Rhyme Queen said, “I may be a big girl, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fit in a car. I deserve the same respect and treatment as any other passenger, and I won’t stand for this kind of discrimination. I will continue to speak out against injustice and fight for my rights.”

Lyft has not yet responded to the lawsuit, but Rhyme Queen’s fans and supporters are rallying behind her, offering their solidarity and encouragement. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

  • Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Vladimir Putin was “afraid” of negotiations on ending the war after the Russian president ruled out direct talks with his Ukrainian counterpart. “Today, Putin once again confirmed that he is afraid of negotiations, afraid of strong leaders, and does everything possible to prolong the war,” Zelenskyy said. Putin on Tuesday ruled out speaking directly with Zelenskyy, whom he called “illegitimate” because elections have not been held since Russia started the war. Because of the war, Ukraine is under martial law, during which the Ukrainian constitution does not allow elections. Ukraine has warned against it being excluded from any peace talks between Russia and the US, accusing Putin of wanting to “manipulate” Donald Trump, the US president.

  • Ukrainian drones targeted oil and power facilities in western parts of Russia, officials and media outlets reported on Wednesday. Baza, a Russian social media channel close to Russia’s security services, reported that an oil refinery was on fire at Kstovo in Nizhny Novgorod, east of Moscow. In the western region of Smolensk, which borders Belarus, there was a “massive” drone attack and air defence systems destroyed a drone threatening a nuclear power facility, said the governor, Vasily Anokhin. Dozens more drones targeted the Bryansk region that borders Ukraine, and the Tver region that borders the Moscow region to its south, regional governors said. Flights were halted for safety at the Kazan airport in the Republic of Tatarstan, 830km (516 miles) east of Moscow, officials said.

  • The US transferred about 90 Patriot air defence interceptors from Israel to Poland this week to then deliver them to Ukraine, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing three sources with knowledge of the operation. “We have seen the reports but have nothing to provide at this time,” a Pentagon spokesperson said in response. A spokesperson for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed to Axios that a Patriot system had been returned to US hands, adding: “It is not known to us whether it was delivered to Ukraine.”

  • Zelenskyy said multiple humanitarian projects in Ukraine had suspended operations due to Donald Trump’ freeze on foreign aid and that Kyiv would replace funding where possible. “Today I instructed government officials to report on those US support programmes that are currently suspended. These are humanitarian programmes. There are many projects. We will determine which of them are critical and need solutions now. We can provide part of this funding through our public finances. We will definitely support the priority items, those that concern Ukrainian children, our veterans, and programmes to protect our infrastructure.”

  • Donald Trump’s secretary of state, Marco Rubio, and the EU foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, have discussed the Ukraine war in their first phone call since the Trump administration took office. An EU official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “They agreed on the necessity of maintaining maximum pressure on Moscow to move towards a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine.”

  • A row over arms procurement has erupted in Ukraine’s government after the defence minister, Rustem Umerov, criticised the system as having failed to deliver results for frontline troops. Umerov sacked a deputy defence minister, Dmytro Klimenkov, and levelled criticism at the Defence Procurement Agency, which was set up to coordinate weapons purchases and is meant to guard against corruption. Umerov said the agency had “inexplicably transformed into an ‘Amazon’”, its purchases were too publicly visible and he was replacing its chief – which the agency denied. On Tuesday, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine said it had opened a probe into Umerov after a public appeal. In a statement on Monday, G7 diplomats in Ukraine urged officials to quickly resolve the dispute, calling for “consistency with good governance principles and Nato recommendations”.

  • The European Commission on Tuesday proposed further tariffs on additional farm imports from Russia and its ally Belarus. “Once adopted by the council, all agricultural imports from Russia would be the subject of EU tariffs,” a statement said. Currently, 15% of Russian farm goods are not affected by sweeping EU tariffs that came into force last July. The new tariffs would continue to spare Russian agricultural goods and fertiliser transiting to non-EU countries, to ensure that food supplies for elsewhere, notably Africa and Asia, were not affected. In addition to denting Russia’s war coffers, the commission said the proposal aimed to reduce dependencies on imports from Russia and Belarus, particularly of fertilisers, that “make the EU vulnerable to potential coercive actions by Russia and thus present a risk to EU food security”.

As the conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, Russian President Vladimir Putin has refused to engage in direct talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This decision comes as tensions between the two countries reach a critical point, with reports of increased military activity in the region.

Despite calls for peaceful negotiations, Putin has remained adamant in his stance, insisting that Ukraine must meet certain conditions before any discussions can take place. This refusal to engage in direct talks has raised concerns about the possibility of further escalation and the potential for a full-scale war.

As the situation unfolds, the international community is closely monitoring developments and working towards a peaceful resolution. With both sides unwilling to back down, the future remains uncertain and the risk of conflict looms large.

    Jan 28, 2025 10:01 AM IST

An X user’s post on DeepSeek’s response to an inquiry about Arunachal Pradesh has sparked a heated discussion.

China’s DeepsSeek AI has taken the world by storm, showing its potential to compete against AI chatbot giants like GPT. Amid the intense discussion about the AI race between China and Western countries, especially the USA, a post about the Chinese chatbot’s refusal to answer a certain question about the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh has gone viral. In a post, an X user claimed that the chatbot refused to answer questions about state.

An X user shared this image of a response to a prompt about Arunachal Pradesh on the Chinese AI chatbot DeepSeek. (Screegrab)

    What did DeepSeek say?

An X user gave a prompt to the AI reading, “arunachal pradesh is an Indian state” To which chatbot replied, “Sorry, that’s beyond my current scope. Let’s talk about something else.” The AI came up with the same answer when asked, “name the north eastern states of India.”

Take a look at the post here:

HT.com tried the same prompts on DeepSeek and ChatGPT. Here is how the chatbots responded:

  • Mexico refuses to accept a U.S. deportation flight

WASHINGTON — Mexico denied a U.S. military plane access to land Thursday, at least temporarily frustrating the Trump administration’s plans to deport immigrants to the country, according to two U.S. defense officials and a third person familiar with the situation.

Two Guatemala-bound Air Force C-17s, carrying about 80 people apiece, flew deportees out of the U.S. Thursday night, the sources said. The third flight, slotted for Mexico, never took off.

A White House spokesperson did not reply to a text message seeking comment on Mexico’s stance.

It was not immediately clear why Mexico blocked the flight, but tensions between the U.S. and Mexico, neighbors and longtime allies, have risen since President Donald Trump won the November election. Trump has threatened to slap 25% across-the-board tariffs on Mexico in retaliation for migrants crossing the border the countries share. But he has not yet put them in effect.

The Mexican Embassy did not immediately return a request for comment.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government has said it opposes Trump taking “unilateral” action to implement restrictive immigration standards — including the reinstatement of a “remain in Mexico” policy that forces migrants to stay in that country while they await adjudication of asylum claims. Flying deportees into a foreign country requires the cooperation of that nation’s government, and Mexico declined to give its consent.

The military deportation flights are part of a broader Trump administration crackdown on illegal immigration that has been set in motion with executive orders signed in his first week in office. During his campaign, he vowed to stop illegal immigration into the U.S. and pursue a campaign of mass deportation of undocumented immigrants already living in the country.

In addition to the flights, he has enlisted the military to beef up its presence on the border with an additional 1,500 troops.

In a bold move, Mexico has refused to accept a deportation flight from the United States, sparking controversy and tension between the two countries. The flight, which was carrying individuals who had been ordered to be deported from the U.S., was turned away by Mexican authorities at the border.

This decision comes amidst growing criticism of the Trump administration’s immigration policies, which have led to an increase in deportations and crackdowns on undocumented immigrants. Mexico’s refusal to accept the deportation flight is seen as a sign of the country’s resistance to these policies and its commitment to protecting the rights of immigrants.

The move has drawn praise from human rights organizations and immigration advocates, who see it as a positive step towards promoting justice and fairness in the treatment of immigrants. However, it has also sparked anger and frustration among U.S. officials, who view Mexico’s decision as a challenge to their authority and a breach of diplomatic protocol.

As tensions continue to rise between the two countries, it remains to be seen how this latest development will impact their relationship and the future of immigration policy in the region.

The Mexican government has made a bold decision to refuse to accept a deportation flight from the United States, citing concerns about the safety and well-being of the individuals on board.

This move comes amidst growing tensions between the two countries over immigration policies, with Mexico pushing back against the Trump administration’s aggressive stance on deportation.

In a statement, Mexican officials stated that they will not be accepting any deportation flights until they can be assured that the individuals being sent back are being treated humanely and have access to proper legal representation.

This decision has been met with praise from human rights organizations and advocates for immigrants, who have long criticized the conditions in U.S. immigration detention centers and the lack of due process for individuals facing deportation.

As the debate over immigration continues to rage on, Mexico’s refusal to accept a deportation flight sends a powerful message about the importance of upholding the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their immigration status.

A longtime state senator in Oklahoma was caught-on-camera going head-to-head with a sheriff deputy after a traffic stop dissolved into a “very verbal” ordeal.

Body camera footage obtained by Fox News Digital showed State Sen. Regina Goodwin, a Democrat from Tulsa, repeatedly arguing with Tulsa County Sheriff’s Deputy Freddie Alaniz shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The scene was recorded by Alaniz’s body-worn camera and began with a tense exchange between the deputy and the elected official. Goodwin was pulled over after Alaniz said that he witnessed the official fail to stop at two stop signs.

“Ma’am, I’m not going to ask you again. Can I get your driver’s license, or can I take you to jail on running a stop sign?” Alaniz asked Goodwin shortly after pulling her over and asking repeatedly for her license. “I’m not going to ask you again. It’s not for debate.”

The pair went back and forth, with Goodwin arguing that the officer was “escalating” the traffic stop.

“That is not true. That is not true at all. I was having a conversation, and you just all of a sudden said, ‘I’ll arrest you,’” Goodwin said.

“No, I said, ‘Or, I can arrest you if that’s what you want,’” Alaniz said.

“I think you really escalated something,” she said. “No, sir — that is, why would that even be an option for you?”

Alaniz: “Because you’re refusing to give me your driver’s license.”

Goodwin: “There was no refusal of me to give you my driver’s license.”

“I asked you over five times to give me your driver’s license, and you kept debating your driver’s license,” the officer responded.

“I was not at all debating my driver’s license, sir, that is not correct,” she replied.

After the deputy asked Oklahoma State Sen. Regina Goodwin more than a dozen times for her driver’s license and she didn’t comply, the deputy placed her into handcuffs. (Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office)

After the initial contentious exchange, Alaniz detained Goodwin in handcuffs and placed her in his patrol vehicle. Her attorney, Mike Manning, who witnessed the scene, spoke with the deputy.

“I realize you have a job to do, officer,” Manning said. “I realize Sen. Goodwin can be a little bit strong-headed at times, but don’t you think you can write her a citation or something? She’ll give you her driver’s license.”

“Yeah, yeah, I can absolutely do that,” Alaniz said. “I don’t need to ask her 10 times for her driver’s license.”

Manning replied: “I saw it. I realize.”

“I don’t have an issue writing her a citation or letting her go, but I’m the one that’s in command of the traffic stop, not her,” the officer said. “She blatantly ran two stop signs, and I was just going to give her a verbal warning and tell her not to do that, but her demeanor — the way that she was — I can’t have that.”

If I don’t allow other people to do that when I do a traffic stop, I’m not going to allow her either.

The officer also called his superior to the scene, saying he pulled Goodwin over for rolling two stop signs and “hauling butt” down the Tulsa street.

“She ran this stop sign back here and the other one that’s a little further down. Just came up, slowed down, and then [zoom] right through them,” Alaniz said. “She was driving so fast that, when she was hitting the puddles of water, it was just [splash] shooting them out. So that’s why I came up and pulled her over. And as I was getting out, she got out of her car, ‘Why are you stopping me?’ You know, just kind of got very verbal. I asked for her driver’s license numerous, numerous times, and she wouldn’t give it to me.”

  • Gasparilla 2025: Pirates ‘warn’ of impending invasion after Tampa mayor refuses to surrender the city’s keys

Cold, rainy weather was no match for pirates with Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, who headed into Tampa at high noon on Tuesday to warn of an invasion.

In a time-honored tradition, the pirates infiltrated Tampa and set sights on Tampa Mayor Jane Castor.

    Gasparilla

    The backstory:

Gasparilla has been a part of the Tampa community since 1904.

Before pirates take over the city, they meet with the mayor to “negotiate” a peaceful surrender of the city.

Ye Mystic Krewe stated that Captain Drew Pittman commanded that Mayor Jane Castor meet with him at high noon on Tuesday in downtown Tampa.

In true Gasparilla fashion, the sound of cannons were heard in downtown Tampa before the pirates met with Mayor Castor to “discuss” the advantages of her handing over the keys to the city.

They added that Mayor Castor needed to surrender now or face the historic Gasparilla Invasion.

Mayor Castor did not surrender the key to the city on Tuesday.

She said, “If Hurricanes Helene and Milton couldn’t knock down Tampa, new scaly wags can’t.”

    What they’re saying:

“But when you try to explain Gasparilla festivities to people from out of town, they just kind of tilt their heads to one side and look at you funny,” said Castor. “You just have to come and experience it.” ‘

Pirate Shamus Warren expected the mayor’s hard line on the key, but his smile remained.

“We pay her the courtesy of asking politely for the key,” said Warren. “Traditionally, she refuses, and we have to bring our buddies back on Saturday and the result is a great parade and a great day.”

    The backstory:

In FOX 13’s archives from 1974, we found the pirate raid on then-Tampa Mayor Dick Greco. On the roof of City Hall, he tried to offer Tampa Cigars to win favor, but later in his office he revealed the truth about who should run Tampa.

“You pirates would do a better job than us politicians,” Greco said at the time.

    What’s next:

Since Castor did not hand over the keys, the pirates took the mayor and said they will respectfully deliver her to the appointed meeting place, reported to be Lykes Gaslight Park on Franklin Street, between Kennedy and Madison.

The Jose Gasparilla ship is expected to dock outside the Tampa Convention Center at 1 p.m. After the mayor surrenders the key to the city around 1:15 p.m., the pirates will take to the streets to celebrate.

The Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Bay to Bay and Bayshore.

The annual Gasparilla Pirate Festival in Tampa, Florida is known for its rowdy parades, extravagant costumes, and swashbuckling antics. But this year, things took a serious turn when the city’s mayor, Jane Castor, refused to hand over the keys to the city to the invading pirate crew.

In a bold move, the pirates issued a warning to the city of Tampa, declaring that they would invade the city and take what was rightfully theirs. The mayor’s refusal to surrender the keys has sparked outrage among the pirate community, with many vowing to storm the city and claim their treasure by force.
