Elon Musk is not convinced with China’s DeepSeek that has wiped billions from the US stock market; this ‘one-word’ reply is the Reason
Elon Musk is not convinced with all the claims and ‘noise’ about China’s AI startup DeepSeek’s claims. To add context: US chip-maker Nvidia saw its market cap get wiped by over $500 billion on Monday, January 27, after the emergence of a low-cost Chinese generative AI model that could threaten US dominance in the fast-growing industry. The AI chatbot developed by DeepSeek has apparently shown the ability to match the capacity of US AI pace-setters for a fraction of the investments made by American companies.
Responding to all the hype and chatter on the same, Elon Musk suggested that DeepSeek may possess around 50,000 Nvidia Hopper GPUs.This is opposed to the 10,000 A100s that DeepSeek claims to have. Musk shared his opinion in reply to recent comments by Alexandr Wang, the billionaire CEO of Scale AI, who also stated that DeepSeek likely has about 50,000 NVIDIA H100s.
Musk and Wang both believe that DeepSeek is unable to disclose the true number of GPUs due to US export controls currently in place. Speaking to media on US-China AI Arms race, Wang said that DeepSeek has about 50,000 NVIDIA H100s that they can’t talk about because of the US export controls that are in place. The interview has been shared on Twitter by a user named Chubby. Responding to Wang’s interview clip; Elon Musk wrote: “Obviously”, affirming his agreement with Wang’s observation. In response to another post, Elon Musk called it ‘DeeperSeek’.
Musk also responded to a post from Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, who had written: “Deepseek is now #1 on the AppStore, surpassing ChatGPT—no NVIDIA supercomputers or $100M needed. The real treasure of AI isn’t the UI or the model—they’ve become commodities. The true value lies in data and metadata, the oxygen fueling AI’s potential. The future’s fortune? It’s in our data. Deepgold.”
To this, Musk replied, “Lmao no.” (here LMAO stands for Laughing My Ass Off).Musk also made fun of the startup being a product of China’s lab; jokingly linking it to Coronavirus that too originated from a Lab in China. “R1 was leaked from a lab in China,” posted a user. Elon Musk replied with ‘Face with tears of Joy’ emoji.
Elon Musk is not convinced with China’s DeepSeek that has wiped billions from the US stock market; this ‘one-word’ reply is the ReasonElon Musk’s one-word reply to China’s DeepSeek technology that has caused chaos in the US stock market: “Skeptical.”

Joao Fonseca delivered what he described as a ‘rude’ response to Novak Djokovic‘s comments after becoming the breakthrough star of the Australian Open.
Fonseca delivered a sensational display to stun Andrey Rublev in straight sets, beating the world No. 9 7-6(1), 6-3, 7-6(5) in the opening round on Tuesday.
The Brazilian’s victory has attracted huge fanfare in his native land, while players Down Under have contacted the teenager to offer their congratulations.
But the 18-year-old showed he has a mature head on his shoulders when responding to questions regarding his sharp rise to prominence.
Addressing his win, Fonseca said: “The players are congratulating me for a good match against Rublev, a good win.
“But it’s important to get – it’s going to sound a little bit rude – some respect from other players.
“From Brazil, the repercussions [of the win] is just big. People are getting to know a little bit more of me, that’s super nice. But at the same time you need to be focused.
“People are going to say a lot, have more expectation, like I said. You need to stay focused in your routine, what you need to do, to work more and more.”
His comments may not be quite the typical response expected after Djokovic singled out him as a talent for the future.
Indeed, the Serbian paid him the highest compliment imaginable after witnessing his debut victory, explaining that he sees another version of himself when he watches him in action.
“I congratulated him not only on the win last night that I’ve seen, the last set I’ve seen, but also everything he has been doing the last six to 12 months,” Djokovic said. “I’ve been following his rise, and I just love how he plays the big points. Courageous, very clean hitter, all-around player.
“Brazil is a huge country. It’s super important for our sport to have a very good player coming from Brazil. I think they haven’t had a player maybe of this calibre since Guga Kuerten.
“It’s exciting times for Brazil, but also for the whole tennis world ’cause such a young player and person to be able to play so good on a big stage is impressive.
“I’ve been a fan of his game. I think in one of my interviews for ATP I was saying I see some of my game there in his game, particularly when I was his age when you’re kind of carelessly going for the shots, just showing what you’re capable of.
“He’s got the goods. He showed that last night on a big stage to go very far. The future is bright for him, no doubt, if he keeps going this way.”
Fonseca’s dream start met a disappointing conclusion in Melbourne when he lost in five sets to Lorenzo Sonego, but there is little doubt his name will be appearing in the headlines at Grand Slams a whole lot more in the future.
Joao Fonseca, a rising star in the tennis world, has caused quite a stir at the Australian Open with his blunt response to comments made by Novak Djokovic. In a recent interview, Djokovic had praised Fonseca’s talent and potential, saying that he could be a future Grand Slam champion. However, rather than thanking Djokovic for his kind words, Fonseca replied in a seemingly rude manner.
“I appreciate the compliment from Djokovic, but I don’t need anyone to tell me what I’m capable of achieving. I know my own abilities and I’m confident in my game,” said Fonseca.
Many fans and analysts have criticized Fonseca for his lack of gratitude and respect towards a player of Djokovic’s caliber. Some have even gone as far as calling his response arrogant and disrespectful.
Despite the backlash, Fonseca remains unfazed and focused on his upcoming matches at the Australian Open. It will be interesting to see how this young and talented player’s attitude will shape his future in the tennis world.

Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna, shared his thoughts on the leadership styles of Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma. Krishna emphasized that while every captain brings their unique approach, the team’s preparation and clarity in execution remain constant, irrespective of who is at the helm. “I think no matter who is leading, as a team we prepare really well about what we can do and what we need to be doing when he goes in as a bowling unit,” Krishna remarked during the post-day press conference today, underlining the collective effort and synergy within the team.
He further elaborated that the clarity in plans is a hallmark of the Indian side, ensuring seamless transitions in leadership.
“The plan was pretty clear even while Bumrah was on or Virat was on, so not much changed that way,” Krishna added.
Rohit Sharma earlier decided to drop himself from the playing XI in the fifth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.
The world of cricket was left in a state of shock when Jasprit Bumrah came out at the time of the toss on Friday, confirming Rohit’s absence from the playing XI. At the time of the toss, the stand-in skipper confirmed that Rohit opted out.
Coming to the final session of the match, Rishabh Pant’s blitz knock helped India post 141/6 on the board in their second innings on Saturday, extending their lead to 145 runs against Australia on Day 2 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Test.
Earlier in the day, Australia was bowled out for 181, giving India a slender lead.
Coming out to bat in the final session, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul displayed some fluent strokes, but the first breakthrough came when Scott Boland dismissed Rahul for 13, leaving India at 42/1. Jaiswal soon followed, clean bowled by Boland for 22.
India faced further setbacks as star batter Virat Kohli was caught in the slip cordon by Steve Smith off Boland for 17, falling to a delivery outside the off-stump. At 59/3, India was in trouble.
Debutant Beau Webster added to India’s struggles, claiming his maiden Test wicket by dismissing Shubman Gill for 13.
Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batter ignited the innings with a scintillating counterattack, smashing Mitchell Starc for a six on the very first ball he faced. He then unleashed a flurry of boundaries, hitting three in a single over from Webster. Pant raced to a half-century in just 29 balls, hitting two consecutive sixes to Starc, the second-fastest fifty by an Indian in Tests. The record of 28 balls, also held by Pant, was set against Sri Lanka in 2022.
Pant’s explosive knock ended at 61 off 33 balls when he was dismissed by Pat Cummins. His innings featured six boundaries and four towering sixes, lifting India to 124/5.
Nitish Kumar Reddy could only add 4 runs before chipping a simple catch to Cummins at mid-off, becoming Boland’s fourth victim of the day.
At stumps, Ravindra Jadeja (8*) and Washington Sundar (6*) remained unbeaten, showing grit to keep India’s lead intact. With the match finely poised, India will look to extend their advantage on Day 3.

It’s not about the individual, it’s about the team and the country.”

His great ancestor was genius too. Gotta love these two. Welcome to your country brother.
Butter chicken is the bomb. Are we sure this is an insult
If you disagree, don’t retweet. Retweeting in this case is disgusting engagement bait.

Rahmat Shah set a new Afghanistan Test record with an unbeaten 231, guiding his team to a commanding 425-2 at the close of day three of the first Test against Zimbabwe on Saturday.
Shah partnered with captain Hashmatullah Shahidi in a monumental 361-run stand, as Shahidi finished the day on 141, his second Test century.
Starting the day at 95-2, Afghanistan quickly surged to 425-2, with Zimbabwe’s six-man attack unable to make any breakthroughs.
This marked just the 26th instance of a wicketless day in Test cricket history, with the most recent occurrence being in the 2019 England vs. West Indies match.
Shah’s innings, spanning 416 balls, included three sixes and 23 fours, surpassing the previous best Afghan individual score of 200* set by Shahidi against Zimbabwe in 2020. His previous highest score was 102 against Bangladesh in 2019, the first-ever Test century for Afghanistan.
Shahidi, who was a solid partner, faced 276 balls and struck 16 fours, reaching his century with a pull shot to fine leg. Zimbabwe, having posted a record 586 in their first innings, hold a 161-run lead as Afghanistan heads into day four.
The Zimbabwe attack, which lacked consistency, saw medium pacer Trevor Gwandu take one wicket but concede 86 runs.
Afghanistan won both the T20 and ODI series ahead of this Test series, which starts on January 2.
Zimbabwe highest-ever Total in Tests
On Friday, Zimbabwe set a new Test record with their highest-ever total, amassing 586 runs in 135.2 overs during their first innings.
Sean Williams led the charge with a brilliant 154 off 174 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes. He was well-supported by Craig Ervine, who scored 104 from 176 balls, and Brian Bennett, who remained unbeaten on 110 from 124 deliveries.
Ben Curran, on his Test debut, also contributed with a solid 68 off 74 balls while opening the batting.
This remarkable effort surpassed Zimbabwe’s previous highest total of 563/9, which was achieved in 2001 against the West Indies in Harare.
Brief Scores:
Zimbabwe: 586 in 135.2 overs (Sean Williams 154, Brian Bennett 110*, Craig Ervine 104, Ben Curran 68; Allah Ghazanfar 3-127)
Afghanistan: 425-2 in 125 overs (Rahmat Shah 231*, Hashmatullah Shahidi 141*)
In a historic feat, Afghan cricketer Rahmat Shah’s record-breaking performance has propelled Afghanistan to a strong reply against Zimbabwe’s imposing total of 586 in the ongoing Test match.Rahmat’s remarkable innings, which included a magnificent double century, has not only put Afghanistan in a commanding position but has also set a new record for the highest individual score by an Afghan player in Test cricket.
His stellar display of batting skills has earned him accolades from fans and cricket experts alike, with many hailing him as a rising star in the world of cricket.
With Rahmat leading the charge, Afghanistan’s batting lineup has shown resilience and determination in the face of a daunting target set by Zimbabwe. The team’s fighting spirit and determination to put up a strong reply speak volumes about their growing reputation as a force to be reckoned with in international cricket.
As the match continues to unfold, all eyes will be on Rahmat and his teammates as they look to build on their impressive performance and secure a memorable victory against Zimbabwe. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling Test match!
