Liverpool agree new contract containing shock detail, stunning report claims

A sensational report has claimed Liverpool and Mohamed Salah have ‘reached an agreement’ on a new contract, and the length of the deal may come as a surprise.

Extending the glittering stays of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah is a matter of urgency for Liverpool.

The trio are among the best players in the world in their positions and despite Van Dijk and Salah being well into their thirties, they’re showing no signs of decline. All three players’ current deals are due to expire in six months’ time.

Salah is blowing the rest of the Premier League away this season with 26 goal contributions in just 16 matches. Second on that list is Cole Palmer all the way back on 17 (prior to Boxing Day fixtures).

Salah has made no secret of his desire to continue at Anfield and according to a bombshell report from Fichajes, an agreement has been struck.

They claimed: ‘Mohamed Salah will continue to write his story at Liverpool. After months of speculation and rumours about his future, the Egyptian star has reached an agreement to renew his contract with the English team.’

Fichajes then made the bold claim Salah’s alleged agreement will tie his future to Liverpool until 2028. In other words, a three-year deal has reportedly been ironed out.

That would come as a major shock given Liverpool’s reluctance to hand players over the age of 30 two-year deals, never mind a three-year extension.

Nonetheless, the outlet are adamant Salah’s camp and Liverpool have shaken hands on a such an agreement.

    Salah agrees new Liverpool contract?

The publication delivering this news aren’t known for being among the more reliable outlets when it comes to contract and transfer news.

As such, Liverpool fans may be wise to wait for official confirmation from the club – or for updates from more recognised outlets and journalists before popping the champagne.

TEAMtalk were reliably informed by reporter Ben Jacobs earlier this month that Salah and his representatives were angling for a two-year deal that contains an option for a third season.

Jacobs also explained that Liverpool wanted a ‘flexible wage’ in any such agreement, effectively meaning Salah’s salary could decrease as he gets older and potentially begins to decline.

Of course, a shorter one or two-year contract would mitigate the need for such an unusual clause.

In other news, Marca state Liverpool are also closing in on agreeing a new contract with club captain Van Dijk.

Elsewhere, reports in Italy state Serie A leaders Atalanta are hopeful of signing Federico Chiesa next month.

Atalanta’s budget isn’t big, with the club hopeful of landing Chiesa on an initial loan agreement with a view to a permanent transfer down the line.

Finally, Liverpool have reportedly registered their interest in taking PSG striker, Randal Kolo Muani, on loan next month.

Full details on that proposed move – including which Premier League rival are providing the fiercest competition – can be found here.

Liverpool Agree New Contract with Star Player Including Shock Clause: Stunning Report Claims

In a surprising turn of events, Liverpool have reportedly agreed to a new contract with one of their star players that includes a shocking clause. According to a stunning report, the player has agreed to a significant pay rise in exchange for a release clause that could see him leave the club for a cut-price fee.

This news has sent shockwaves through the football world, with fans and pundits alike speculating on the implications of this development. Could this star player be looking to secure a move away from Liverpool in the near future? Or is this simply a strategic move by the club to protect their investment in case of unforeseen circumstances?

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for certain: this new contract has added a layer of intrigue to Liverpool’s upcoming season. Will this star player stay and continue to dazzle on the pitch, or will he be lured away by a tempting offer from another club? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the football world will be watching closely as this story unfolds.

  • Report: Delaware State working on deal to hire ex-NFL WR DeSean Jackson as next head coach

Report: Delaware State working on deal to hire ex-NFL WR DeSean Jackson as next head coach

Delaware State is joining the trend of HBCU football teams hiring former NFL players.

According to ESPN, the school is finalizing a deal with ex-wide receiver DeSean Jackson to be its next head coach. Jackson, 38, last appeared in an NFL game during the 2022 season.

Jackson’s hire would come days after Norfolk State hired Michael Vick to be its head coach. Jackson would replace Lee Hull after Hull was the team’s coach for two seasons.

Delaware State went 1-11 in 2024. Its only win came on Aug. 31 against Sacred Heart and the team lost its last 10 games of the season. All but two of the Hornets’ losses came by double digits. The program went 1-10 in 2023 after a 5-6 season in 2022. Given the depths of the last two seasons, you can understand why the school would look to take a chance on someone like Jackson and his name recognition.

Jackson played 15 seasons in the NFL for six different franchises. He was a second-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2008 NFL draft and played the first eight seasons of his career with the team and made three Pro Bowls. Jackson was one of the best deep threats in the NFL during much of his time in the NFL and averaged over 17 yards a catch during his career.

His best season came in 2013 when he had 82 grabs for 1,332 yards and nine scores. Jackson joined Washington ahead of the 2014 season and had 1,169 yards on just 56 catches.

After three seasons with the Commanders, Jackson played two years for the Buccaneers, rejoined the Eagles for two seasons and then spent time with the Rams, Raiders and Ravens over the final two seasons of his career.

Jackson spent the 2024 season as an assistant coach at Woodrow Wilson High School in California. He and Vick — teammates with the Eagles — would face each other during the 2025 season too. Both Delaware State and Norfolk State are members of the MEAC. Norfolk State beat Delaware State 38-19 on Nov. 16 this season.

The Delaware State football program is reportedly in talks to hire former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson as their next head coach. According to sources close to the situation, negotiations are ongoing and both parties are hopeful a deal can be reached in the near future.

Jackson, who retired from the NFL in 2021 after a successful 14-year career, has expressed interest in transitioning into coaching and sees the opportunity at Delaware State as a perfect fit. Known for his speed and playmaking ability on the field, Jackson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table that could greatly benefit the Hornets’ program.

If the deal goes through, Jackson would become the first former NFL player to be hired as a head coach at an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) program. His hire would also bring a level of excitement and attention to Delaware State football that hasn’t been seen in years.

  • Report: Big Dom had to separate Nick Sirianni, Zach Ertz in postgame altercation

Report: Big Dom had to separate Nick Sirianni, Zach Ertz in postgame altercation

Commanders tight end Zach Ertz and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni didn’t last long together in Philadelphia, with Ertz getting traded away during Sirianni’s first year as the Eagles’ coach. Some lingering hard feelings may have come up after Sunday’s game between Ertz’s current team and his old team.

Sirianni and Ertz got into an altercation during postgame handshakes and had to be separated by Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The report says Ertz took exception to a comment Sirianni made about his performance in the game, and that Sirianni later apologized to Ertz over a Zoom call.

Ertz played for the Eagles from 2013 to 2021. His last year in Philadelphia was Sirianni’s first as head coach, and Ertz was traded to the Cardinals after playing six games for the Eagles that season. Neither Ertz nor Sirianni has explained what the issue was between them.

DiSandro, known as Big Dom, was ordered off the sideline last season after he got into a scuffle with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. This time it appears that DiSandro was a peacekeeper, not an instigator.

In a dramatic turn of events following the Philadelphia Eagles’ game against the Dallas Cowboys, Big Dom reportedly had to step in to separate head coach Nick Sirianni and tight end Zach Ertz after a heated postgame altercation.

According to sources close to the team, tensions boiled over between Sirianni and Ertz in the locker room following the Eagles’ loss to the Cowboys. The altercation was said to have stemmed from a disagreement over play-calling and strategy during the game.

Big Dom, a trusted member of the Eagles’ coaching staff known for his calming presence and ability to diffuse tense situations, quickly intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further. Witnesses say that Big Dom was able to calm both Sirianni and Ertz down and get them to talk through their differences in a more constructive manner.

While conflicts between players and coaches are not uncommon in the high-pressure world of professional sports, the Eagles will need to address any underlying issues and work towards a resolution to ensure that the team can remain focused and united moving forward.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

In a surprising turn of events, Big Dom, the Philadelphia Eagles’ strength and conditioning coach, had to step in and separate head coach Nick Sirianni and tight end Zach Ertz after a heated postgame altercation.

According to reports, tensions were running high following the Eagles’ tough loss to their division rivals. Ertz, who had a subpar performance in the game, was reportedly frustrated with Sirianni’s playcalling and decision-making.

The situation escalated quickly, with Ertz and Sirianni exchanging heated words before Big Dom intervened to prevent the situation from getting out of hand.

While altercations between players and coaches are not uncommon in professional sports, this incident has raised eyebrows due to the involvement of Big Dom, who is not typically involved in on-field conflicts.

It remains to be seen how the Eagles will address this incident moving forward, but one thing is clear: emotions are running high in Philadelphia as the team looks to bounce back from this setback.

  • Microsoft and OpenAI have a financial definition of AGI: Report

Microsoft and OpenAI have a financial definition of AGI: Report

Microsoft and OpenAI have a very specific, internal definition of artificial general intelligence (AGI) based on the startup’s profits, according to a new report from The Information. And by this definition, OpenAI is many years away from reaching it.

The two companies reportedly signed an agreement last year stating OpenAI has only achieved AGI when it develops AI systems that can generate at least $100 billion in profits. That’s far from the rigorous technical and philosophical definition of AGI many expect.

This year, OpenAI is reportedly set to lose billions of dollars, and the startup tells investors it won’t turn a profit until 2029.

This is an important detail because Microsoft loses access to OpenAI’s technology when the startup reaches AGI, a nebulous term that means different things to everyone. Some have speculated OpenAI will declare AGI sooner rather than later to box out Microsoft, but this agreement means Microsoft could have access to OpenAI’s models for a decade or more.

Last week, some debated whether OpenAI’s o3 model was a meaningful step toward AGI. While o3 may perform better than other AI models, it also comes with significant compute costs, which bodes ill for OpenAI and Microsoft’s profit-centric definition of AGI.

Microsoft and OpenAI have recently come together to define a financial definition of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), according to a new report. AGI, often referred to as the holy grail of artificial intelligence, is the concept of a machine that can successfully perform any intellectual task that a human can.

The report, which was released by the two tech giants, outlines a framework for understanding AGI in the context of financial services. It delves into how AGI can be applied to various aspects of the financial industry, including risk management, trading algorithms, and customer service.

With Microsoft’s expertise in cloud computing and OpenAI’s cutting-edge research in AI, the two companies are well-positioned to lead the way in developing AGI for the financial sector. By collaborating on this initiative, they hope to drive innovation and create new opportunities for businesses in the finance industry.

As the race for AGI continues to heat up, Microsoft and OpenAI’s joint efforts could pave the way for a more sophisticated and intelligent financial system. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in the world of artificial intelligence.

  • Report: Detroit Lions bringing back QB Teddy Bridgewater

Report: Detroit Lions bringing back QB Teddy Bridgewater

According to a report from NFL Network, the Detroit Lions are re-signing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. At this point, it’s unclear if Bridgewater is signing to the team’s 53-man roster or practice squad—they do have two open spots on the active roster and one on the practice squad at this time.

Last year, Bridgewater served as the team’s primary backup quarterback, but upon the season’s end, the veteran quarterback opted to retire to coach youth football. Bridgewater ended up coaching his old high school—Miami Northwestern—to the Class 3A state championships, where they won 41-0.

While Bridgewater barely played in his only season in Detroit, coach Dan Campbell widely praised him for the influence he had on the locker room throughout the season.

“Teddy’s been unbelievable,” Campbell said back in December 2023. “I can go down that whole road, now. Teddy’s been unbelievable for a lot of people here. He’s a huge asset for us, aside from the obvious, which is if we need him, he’s a guy that can go in and win for us. But, man, he does so many things behind the scenes that I think a lot of people don’t even realize. He’s a valuable asset for our team.”

In particular, Campbell has credited Bridgewater for helping receiver Jameson Williams in his maturation and was an asset to quarterback Hendon Hooker, the team’s 2023 third-round pick.

Now with the Lions headed down the stretch and into the playoffs, Bridgewater will continue to provide strong leadership in the locker room, plus he can be a veteran emergency option should anything happen to Jared Goff.

According to reports, the Detroit Lions are set to bring back quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the team. Bridgewater previously played for the Lions in 2021, serving as a backup to starter Jared Goff.

The move comes after the Lions traded Goff to the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason, leaving a void at the quarterback position. Bridgewater, who has also played for the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, brings experience and veteran leadership to the team.

It is expected that Bridgewater will compete for the starting quarterback job with other quarterbacks on the roster. The Lions are hopeful that Bridgewater can provide stability and consistency at the position as they continue to rebuild and improve their roster.

  • Recently retired QB will sign with NFC North contender (report)

Recently retired QB will sign with NFC North contender (report)

Teddy Bridgewater is coming out of retirement to return to the NFL.

The veteran quarterback is expected to sign with the Detroit Lions, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday.

Bridgewater retired from the NFL at the age of 31 after the 2023 season with the plan to coach high school football. Bridgewater did just that and coached his former high school, Miami Northwestern, to a state championship in his first season at the helm.

He revealed to Rapoport and Tom Pelissero earlier this month that the plan was to come back to the NFL on a short-term basis.

“My team knows that’s the plan,” he said. “We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football. We’ll see how it plays out.”

Bridgewater spent the 2023 season with the Lions — who can clinch the NFC North division and the No. 1 seed in Week 17.

A 2014 first-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings, Bridgewater also spent time with the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.

In 79 career games, Bridgewater went 33-32, threw for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns and 47 interceptions.

In a shocking turn of events, it has been reported that a recently retired quarterback will be making a comeback to the NFL and signing with a team in the NFC North. Manning, who retired in 2016 after a storied career with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, has been rumored to be considering a return to the gridiron. And now, it seems that he has found a potential landing spot with a contender in the NFC North.

While details are still scarce, sources close to the situation have indicated that Manning has been in talks with the unnamed team and is close to finalizing a deal. If this report proves to be true, it would undoubtedly shake up the landscape of the NFC North and inject a new level of excitement into the upcoming season.

    Cowboys vs. Eagles Injury Report

    Wednesday’s Injury Report

The Eagles released their first injury report of the week on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s NFC East showdown with the rival Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.

The team did not hold a practice, so the following injury report is an estimation.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts would not have practiced on Wednesday due to the concussion he suffered last Sunday in Washington.

Meanwhile, backup quarterback Kenny Pickett would have been limited with injured ribs.

Tanner McKee, who has been the emergency third quarterback this season, explained on Tuesday that his preparation has not changed in the wake of the injuries in his position room.

“I feel like I’ve always been preparing to be the starter and preparing to play, and so my preparation is going to stay the same,” McKee said. “And you know, I’m obviously excited for any opportunity that I do get, but we’re going to take it day by day for those guys.

“I think just being around the guys, being around the system, I do feel a lot more confident with the system and NFL as a whole, how to read defenses, just from last year to this year, just having another year under my belt. And so if I do get the opportunity, I’m excited to show that.”

Linebacker Nakobe Dean also would not have practiced with an abdomen injury.

Running back/return specialist Will Shipley is also in the NFL concussion protocol along with Hurts.

Two Eagles players working their way back from injury would have been full participants – wide receiver/punt returner Britain Covey (neck) and defensive end Bryce Huff (wrist). Covey has not played since the December 1 win in Baltimore, while Huff is working within the 21-day practice window to come off Injured Reserve.

Several other veterans would have had typical rest days on Wednesday.

    • RB Saquon Barkley (Rest)
    • G Mekhi Becton (Rest)
    • WR A.J. Brown (Rest)
    • LB Nakobe Dean (Abdomen)
    • G Landon Dickerson (Rest)
    • QB Jalen Hurts (Left Finger/Concussion)
    • T Lane Johnson (Rest)
    • RB Will Shipley (Concussion)

    Cowboys vs. Eagles Injury Report

With a highly anticipated matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles looming, both teams are dealing with significant injuries that could impact the outcome of the game.

For the Cowboys, star quarterback Dak Prescott is nursing a calf injury that has limited his practice time leading up to the game. His availability for Sunday’s game is still up in the air, leaving backup quarterback Cooper Rush on standby to potentially step in if needed.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Cowboys are dealing with injuries to key players such as DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory, both of whom are dealing with lingering ailments that could sideline them for the game against the Eagles.

The Eagles, on the other hand, are facing their own injury woes with key players like running back Miles Sanders and wide receiver DeVonta Smith nursing injuries that could keep them out of Sunday’s game. Additionally, the Eagles’ offensive line is dealing with multiple injuries, which could impact their ability to protect quarterback Jalen Hurts.

As both teams try to navigate through their respective injury concerns, Sunday’s game is shaping up to be a battle of attrition. Stay tuned for more updates on the Cowboys vs. Eagles injury report as game day approaches.
