Law Murray of The Athletic then reported that the Clippers were targeting Jan. 4 at home against the Atlanta Hawks for Leonard’s return to the court.
Right knee inflammation forced Leonard to miss the final eight regular-season games of the 2023-24 season as well as four of the Clippers’ six first-round playoff games against the Dallas Mavericks.
Leonard suffered a torn right ACL in the 2021 postseason that forced him to sit all of 2021-22. He also suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. Thankfully, he was ready for the 2023-24 season opener.
Leonard is an immensely talented player with six All-Star recognitions, six All-NBA team honors, seven All-Defensive teams, two NBA championships and two NBA Finals MVP awards to his name. He averaged 23.7 points on 52.5 percent shooting, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals last year. So obviously, the Clippers need him to have a chance at a championship run.
Without him, though, James Harden has still adeptly run the offense, with Norman Powell breaking out to lead the team in scoring.

There have already been rumblings this might be the case but, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is for Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to face John Cena at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
It sounds like Cena setting out to break Ric Flair’s 16-time WWE Championship record – they’re currently tied – has been the “working idea” for months now. Pitting the former face of WWE against the new face of the company will make for one heck of a storyline, particularly if the title is on the line.
Who should win the match? That’s a difficult question, though this would surely be an opportunity for the Leader of the Cenation to officially pass the torch to the American Nightmare ahead of his retirement.
Fightful Select has since chimed in, revealing that they first heard this match was in the works as far back as mid-November. Apparently, Rhodes vs. Cena became the plan “after it was indicated that the Rock’s schedule was unclear for Mania.”
WWE had hoped to pit Rhodes against The Rock, so what of the Final Boss? WWE hasn’t completely moved on from him as, according to Meltzer, the hope is he might still wrestle at the Show of Shows.
“At first it was the Raw title given Rhodes vs. Rock would be for the other title and People’s belt. This isn’t etched in stone because whatever Rock wants to do, he’s likely going to be able to do. I do know that people are expecting him to appear on the show in some form.”
“As for wrestling on the show, I even know people at the top who are expecting that, but it’s not a sure thing and one would think the Netflix show on 1/6 will kick off the season and tip the hand. Rock could do another match even though WWE title vs. People’s title was what he wanted after Mania.”
If WWE is committing to Rhodes vs. Cena, then we’d imagine the plan is to pivot to The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, the main event we were supposed to get at last year’s WrestleMania before the #WeWantCody movement changed things.

Dodgers, Hyeseong Kim reportedly agree to 3-year deal

(Photo by Yuichi Masuda/Getty Images) The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly signed infielder Hyeseong Kim to a three-year deal with $12.5 million guaranteed, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya. The contract has a two-year option for the 2028 and 2029 seasons that could allow the deal to be worth as much as $22 million.
MLB teams were able to negotiate a contract with Kim after he was posted on Dec. 5. Teams had until 5 p.m. ET on Friday to work out a deal.
The 25-year-old Kim, who has played the past six seasons with the KBO’s Kiwoom Heroes, was the first player from South Korea and Japan to be posted this offseason and has been training in Los Angeles for the past month.
Kim, a left-handed hitter, is coming off a career season with the Heroes in which he hit 11 home runs, drove in 75 runs, stole 30 bases and posted a .326 batting average. It was his fourth straight season hitting over .300 and his seventh straight season with at least 20 stolen bases.
Over his eight-season career, Kim has slashed .304/.364/.403 with 386 RBI in 953 games. His 211 steals since 2018 are the most by any KBO player during that span.
Defensively, he’s a three-time KBO Fielding Award winner. He won the award in 2021 at shortstop and in 2022 and 2023 at second base.
After the Dodgers played an exhibition in March against a team of Korean All-Stars, manager Dave Roberts said that Kim impressed the team’s scouts.
“Our scouts like the second baseman: just the way his body moves. There’s some life to the bat and defensively (he) made a nice play out there,” Roberts said. “There’s good baseball players all over the world and so this is just another chance for us to see them and for them to match themselves against us.”
With the signing of Kim and re-signing of Teoscar Hernández, that puts the Dodgers right at the 40-man roster limit, meaning someone will need to be moved out. And with Mookie Betts set at shortstop and Gavin Lux at second base, Kim will fill a utility role.
Kim is the fifth player from the Heroes to sign with an MLB team following Kang Jung-ho (Pittsburgh Pirates), Park Byung-ho (Minnesota Twins), Ha-seong Kim (San Diego Padres) and Jung-hoo Lee (San Francisco Giants).
Had Kim not signed with an MLB team, he would have returned to the Heroes and would be unable to be posted again until after Nov. 1, 2025.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly landed a star from Korea.
Per The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, the Dodgers are in agreement with Korean Baseball Organization infielder Hye-seong Kim ahead of the end of his posting window, which closes Friday.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported the contract is for three years with an option for 2028-29 and includes $12.5 million guaranteed. Heyman noted that the contract is worth up to $22 million.
Kim, 25, has been in the KBO since 2017 and spent the last six seasons with the Kiwoom Heroes. In 127 games with the Heroes last season, he hit .326/.383/.458 with 26 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, 75 RBI, 90 runs and 30 stolen bases. He’s hit .304/.364/.403 for his career.
Kim mostly plays second base but has also spent time at shortstop and third base, meaning the Dodgers will get a versatile defender who can adjust to different spots in the infield if needed.
Right now, the Dodgers have Gavin Lux at second, Mookie Betts at shortstop and Max Muncy at third, though Kim could make his way into the starting lineup with a strong showing in spring training later this year.
Los Angeles will now begin its title defense boasting a handful of strong new additions, with Kim just adding to the list.

Lions safety Kerby Joseph reportedly snubbed from 2025 Pro Bowl roster
The 2025 NFL Pro Bowl roster is expected to be released on Thursday, and according to one report, one of the most deserving Detroit Lions players will not be on that list. Per the Detroit Free Press, Lions safety Kerby Joseph will not be named a Pro Bowler this year.
Joseph was one of 19 Lions players who finished in the top-five at his position in fan Pro Bowl votes. In fact, he received more fan votes than any other free safety. However, Pro Bowl rosters are determined by three, equally-weighted factors: fan votes, player votes, and coaches votes. That means Joseph wasn’t carried enough by his peers.
It’s one of the rare times in which the fans had it right, and the people inside NFL organizations didn’t because Joseph was more than worthy of the honors. He currently leads the NFL with nine interceptions, has the highest PFF grade of any NFL safety (90.7), and the highest coverage grade of any defensive back (91.5).
“Man, he came up in a big way,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said of Joseph after his two-interception performance on Monday night against the 49ers. “Not just that, the picks, he had some critical tackles in this game, and (he) just really showed up for us.”
On the season, Joseph 77 tackles, one tackle for loss, 12 passes defended and nine interceptions. Since entering the league in 2022, no one has more interceptions (17) than Joseph.

Luigi Mangione, who is the main suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s murder, is now being reported to have got a new attorney. According to the latest reports, Marc Agnifilo will be representing Mangione as part of his legal team.
For those who might not know the attorney, he is the same lawyer who has also been representing Sean Diddy Combs in his sex trafficking case.
What makes this new update even more interesting is that the reports state that it is not only Marc but even his wife, Karen Friedman, who will be representing the murder suspect. Karen Friedman was too a prosecutor before.
As per a report by The Hindustan Times, Luigi was shifted to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on December 19, 2024. Surprisingly, the MDC prison happens to be the same location where the now disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Combs is being held.
Per another report by CNN, when Luigi was escorted to the courtroom in New York City, both Marc and Karen walked along with him in the court hall. A few other reports suggest that Karen had been representing Luigi Mangione since the weekend, the time when he was being held at the Pennsylvania detention center.
For those who are not familiar with the incident, a fatal shooting occurred on December 4, 2024, in which the CEO Brian Thompson was killed.
In the following days, on December 9, 2024, the suspect, Luigi Mangione, was detained. Luigi was recognized in Altoona at a McDonald’s. A few other reports suggest that a massive manhunt was conducted in search of the suspected shooter. Luigi Mangione is now being charged with four federal offenses that include a firearm with a silencer, stalking, as well as murder through the use of a firearm.
Meanwhile, as per Rolling Stones, the suspect would now also face indictment covering first and second-degree murder charges along with one count of “act of terrorism.”
