“I talk all the time with my daughter Stella,” he said to PEOPLE

“I continue doing it and I know everybody’s fine. I know that Melanie was at some point, the whole entire area where she lives, they got the evacuation. And so her, my ex-mother-in-law, some friends of my daughter, they were all living with my daughter because she was in an area that was not [affected].”

Banderas also provided the whereabouts of his other family members, including Dakota Johnson, his former stepdaughter. “With Dakota, I think she was out of Los Angeles,” he said.

Banderas also revealed some of the experiences that his daughter relayed, painting a terrifying picture of the situation that occurred in Los Angeles.

“My daughter was telling me, ‘Oh, Papi, I never experienced winds like this in Los Angeles. It was unbelievable, and it was very difficult to stop. We were seeing embers that were just flying miles and falling into another neighborhood,’” he said.

“So if you are not looking at the sky entire time, you can find the surprise that your house is just burning from the roof. So all of these things were happening all at the same time. . . It’s very difficult.”

  • Apple reports first quarter results

Apple Inc. has just released its first quarter financial results, and the numbers are looking strong. The tech giant reported a revenue of $111.4 billion, surpassing analysts’ expectations. This marks a 21% increase compared to the same period last year.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, attributed the success to strong demand for the iPhone 12, as well as growth in the company’s services and wearables segments. The iPhone 12, released in October, saw strong sales during the holiday season, driving overall revenue growth.

Additionally, Apple saw a significant increase in sales in China, with revenue in the region growing by over 50%. This is a positive sign for the company, as China is a key market for Apple’s products.

Overall, Apple’s first quarter results show that the company is continuing to thrive despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic. Investors and analysts are optimistic about the company’s future prospects, as Apple looks to capitalize on its momentum in the coming quarters.

  • Intel reports Q4 beats on top and bottom line, stock rises on external founder revenue outlook

Intel (INTC) announced its fourth quarter earnings on Thursday, beating estimates on the top and bottom line, but falling short on Q1 guidance. Still, the company said its nascent foundry business is expected to produce meaningful external revenue by 2027.

Shares of Intel rose 1% following the report

The report is Intel’s first since it ousted CEO Pat Gelsinger over frustrations related to his enormous turnaround plan for the company.

Intel is currently led by co-CEOs David Zinsner, who also serves as CFO, and Michelle Johnston Holthaus, who is also CEO of Intel Products. The company is still searching for a permanent CEO to take the reins and attempt to revitalize the storied chipmaker.

For the quarter, Intel reported earnings per share (EPS) of $0.13 on revenue of $14.3 billion. Analysts were anticipating EPS of 0.12 on revenue of $13.8 billion. The company saw EPS of $0.54 and $15.4 billion in revenue in the same quarter last year.

Intel, however, said it expects revenue between $11.7 billion and $12.7 billion in the current quarter. Analysts were looking for $12.85 billion. Adjusted gross margins are also set to come in at 36%, below the 39% Wall Street expected.

Intel stock is down a staggering 54% over the last 12 months and reported the largest quarterly loss in its history last quarter. Intel isn’t the only chipmaker hurting, though. Rival AMD (AMD) is down 36% throughout the last year. Nvidia (NVDA), however, continues to gain steam, rising 93% in the last year, despite suffering a massive rout on Monday on the back of worries related to China’s DeepSeek AI.

Intel’s still-nascent foundry business, which both produces chips for Intel and is designed to act as a contract manufacturer for third parties, continues to be a drag on its overall revenue despite announcing agreements to build chips for Amazon’s (AMZN) Amazon Web Services and Microsoft (MSFT).

Intel’s Client Computing business, which includes chips for PCs, saw revenue of $8 billion, versus expectations of $7.8 billion, while its data center business topped out at $3.39 billion. Wall Street was looking for revenue of $3.37 billion.

The Intel Foundry business, which produces chips for Intel and third-party partners, brought in 4.5 billion, in line with expectations.

Intel is working to build out new facilities to research and construct chips across the US, but the company is dealing with a relatively flat PC market despite promises that AI PCs would help buoy the space in 2024.

According to IDC, PC shipments rose just 1% in 2024, and there’s still plenty of uncertainty about 2025.

Intel recently released its fourth-quarter earnings report, exceeding expectations on both the top and bottom lines. The company’s stock rose as a result of its positive performance and promising outlook for external founder revenue.

With revenue from external founders expected to increase in the coming quarters, Intel is poised for further growth and success. Investors are optimistic about the company’s ability to capitalize on this opportunity and drive profitability.

Overall, Intel’s strong Q4 performance and positive outlook for the future have bolstered investor confidence and led to a rise in the company’s stock price. It will be interesting to see how Intel continues to leverage its strengths and capitalize on new opportunities in the semiconductor market.

In 2023, adjusted operating profit margin and adjusted profit per share excluded restructuring costs, which included the impact of the divestiture of the company’s Longwall business and other restructuring costs. 2023 adjusted profit per share also excluded a benefit for certain deferred tax valuation allowance adjustments and mark-to-market gains for remeasurement of pension and OPEB plans. Please see a reconciliation of GAAP to non-GAAP financial measures in the appendix on pages 14 to 16.

For the full year 2024, enterprise operating cash flow was $12.0 billion, and the company ended the fourth quarter with $6.9 billion of enterprise cash. During the year, the company deployed $7.7 billion of cash for repurchases of Caterpillar common stock and $2.6 billion of cash for dividends.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Caterpillar reported a revenue of $15.2 billion, a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. The company’s net income for the quarter was $1.5 billion, an impressive 20% increase year-over-year.

  • Some commercials for Super Bowl LIX sold for $8M, per reports

At least 10 commercials to air during Super Bowl LIX on Fox have sold for $8 million, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Fox reported in November that it had sold out of ad spots, at what it said it believed to be “record pricing,” Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch said at the time. As spots were dwindling, the price increased, according to reports. Super Bowl ads normally increase by about $100,000 each year, but this year, the increase was reportedly closer to $500,000.

“What was unique to this Super Bowl, or this marketplace, was we had a lot more people that weren’t in the game at all, all of a sudden be like, no, no, I have to get in the game,” Fox Sports EVP/ad sales Mark Evans said.

Around 123.7 million people watched the Super Bowl last year, according to Nielsen, and more than 115 million viewers watched in 2023, the last time the Super Bowl aired on Fox.

Anheuser-Busch, Meta, PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Taco Bell, Uber Eats and others will vie to win over the more than 120 million viewers expected to tune in for the broadcast on Fox and via the free livestream on Tubi.

“If I learned anything, it’s that we’re in a period now where the live sporting event, where people and families come together to watch, is that much more coveted,” Evans said. “There’s an escalation in price and interest in the demand for live sports, but we’re not at its peak. We’ve still got runway for growth.”

Fox declined to comment on the specific price tag for 30 seconds. Last year, a 30-second spot went for around a reported $7 million.

Evans said the mix of ad categories for the most part includes the usual suspects: beverages, snacks, tech companies and telcos. There will be a focus on AI in more commercials, he said, and slightly more pharmaceutical companies advertising this year.

One category that’s down is movie promos and streamers. Another traditionally big category for the Super Bowl, automakers, are mainly sitting it out after a tough year in the sector, with only Stellantis’ Jeep and Ram brands having announced an appearance.

The California wildfires in January made the lead-up to the game less predictable than usual. State Farm pulled out of its planned advertising to focus on the fires. And some other advertisers faced production delays. But Evans said accommodations were made wherever possible.

Advertisers are expected to begin releasing their ads in the days ahead of the game. One of the first ads to debut was an ad for Budweiser, featuring a Clydesdale foal that helps make a beer delivery.

Another Anheuser-Busch brand, Michelob Ultra, also released its ad, which shows Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara as pickleball hustlers.

Hellmann’s ad brings Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal back together for a reprise of the Katz’s Deli scene in “When Harry Met Sally.”

Teasers have abounded this year, from an Uber Eats teaser starring Charli XCX and Martha Stewart to Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt touting Meta’s Smart Glasses.

Super Bowl LIX will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, when the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs.

Information from The Associated Press was included in this report.

The Super Bowl is known for its extravagant commercials, and this year, some companies are shelling out big bucks to secure a spot during the big game. According to reports, several commercials for Super Bowl LIX have been sold for a whopping $8 million.

These high-priced ads are a testament to the popularity and reach of the Super Bowl, which draws in millions of viewers each year. Companies are willing to pay top dollar for a chance to showcase their products or services to such a large and engaged audience.

While the cost of these commercials may seem excessive to some, for many brands, the investment is well worth it. The Super Bowl offers a unique opportunity to connect with consumers on a massive scale, and the right commercial can leave a lasting impression and drive sales for months to come.

As we gear up for Super Bowl LIX, it will be interesting to see which companies have secured these coveted ad spots and what creative and innovative commercials they have in store for viewers. Stay tuned for more updates on the biggest commercials of the year!

  • Reports: Arsenal tracking Bayern Munich forward – Arseblog News

Various reports suggest Arsenal are interested in France U21 international Mathys Tel who has apparently decided to leave Bayern Munich before the end of the transfer window.

The 19 year old joined the German giants from Rennes in 2022, and in 82 appearances has scored 16 goals and made 7 assists. His role this season has been peripheral however, playing just 396 minutes across all competitions with just 1 Bundesliga assist to his name.

The Gunners need for reinforcements is obvious, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus sidelined, so a move for a versatile forward would make sense. Tel has featured across the front three during his time in Munich, and would provide some depth for the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard who are carrying a heavy burden at present.

It is believed Bayern are willing to let Tel go, but any loan deal this month could require an obligation to buy in the summer – and having paid almost €30m for him, they’d be keen to recoup as much as possible from any sale.

Arsenal are not the only London club sniffing around, with Sp*rs and Chelsea both paying attention to his situation, and Man Utd reportedly keen too, but he could well a name we hear more of between now and the transfer deadline on Monday, February 3rd (11pm).

For the first time this window, we’ve broken out the Poo-O-Meter, so let’s see what happens.

Reports: Arsenal tracking Bayern Munich forward

According to recent reports, Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich forward as they look to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window. The Gunners have been impressed with the player’s performances and believe he could be a valuable addition to their squad.

While no official bid has been made yet, Arsenal are said to be in talks with the player’s representatives to discuss a potential move. The forward has expressed an interest in playing in the Premier League and could be tempted by a switch to London.

It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will be willing to let go of their star player, but Arsenal are determined to do everything they can to secure his signature. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Ken Paxton considering US Senate run against John Cornyn: reports

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is considering a run for US Senate, according to new reports.

A run against current Senator John Cornyn would be a test of the split in the Texas Republican Party.

Ken Paxton gauging interest in Senate run

Ken Paxton, Texas attorney general, during the Republican National Convention (RNC) at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Former President Donald Trump tapped JD Vance as his running mate, elevating to the Republ

While speaking to Republican Party members in Denton County on Monday night, Paxton listed several Republicans he wants to remove from the Texas GOP for not being conservative enough, according to FOX News.

Cornyn, who has served in the US Senate since 2002, made Paxton’s list.

“The second thing we need to do, and I might play a role in this, is replace John Cornyn in the U.S. Senate.” Paxton said.

In an interview with FOX News Digital, Paxton says despite “loving what I’m doing … I’m looking potentially at the U.S. Senate.”

A source close to Paxton told FOX News Digital that the attorney general “plans to spend the next few months meeting with voters, donors and grassroots activists across the state to gauge interest and decide how he can serve Texas best.”

A deciding factor for Paxton could be if his close ally and friend, President Donald Trump, would throw his support behind a primary challenge for Cornyn.

    The backstory:

Paxton has hinted at a possible Senate run since he was acquitted in his 2023 impeachment trial.

Cornyn spoke out against Paxton ahead of the political trial, saying he was troubled by the allegations against the attorney general.

After his acquittal, Paxton turned his sights against Cornyn.

Paxton has consistently referred to Cornyn as a RINO, or a “Republican in name only.”

“I’ve seen how guys like John Cornyn have represented the State of Texas and not represented us, I think it’s time somebody needs to step up and run against this guy that will do the job and do it the right way,” Paxton told former FOX News host Tucker Carlson.

During his time as attorney general, Paxton has made a name for himself nationally, with several high-profile lawsuits against the Biden administration, and companies like Meta and Google.

Prior to becoming attorney general, Paxton was a member of the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate.

    John Cornyn

Cornyn has already announced his intention to run in 2026.

Cornyn has not lost an election in Texas.

He was elected to the Texas Supreme Court in 1990, won an attorney general race in 1998 and then defeated a crowded field to become US Senator in 2002.

READ MORE: Senator John Cornyn joins new Senate DOGE caucus

While in the Senate, Cornyn has served as both the majority and minority whip. He is currently the chair of the Senate Narcotics Caucus.

In recent months, he has also been a vocal supporter of Trump’s Cabinet picks and has slammed Democrats for delaying confirmations for key positions. In a speech on the Senate floor earlier this month, he said, “Our first and most urgent task is to confirm President Trump’s nominees for his Cabinet.”

    2026 Elections

    What’s next:

The 2026 elections will be important in Texas.

In addition to voting for US Senate, Texans will have an opportunity to vote for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, among several other positions.

Primary elections will be held in March with runoff elections in May.

The Source: Information in this article comes from FOX News Digital and past FOX coverage.

    Texas PoliticsTexasKen Paxton

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is reportedly considering a run for the US Senate against incumbent Senator John Cornyn. According to sources close to Paxton, he is weighing his options and has not made a final decision yet.

Paxton, who has served as Texas Attorney General since 2015, is known for his conservative views and strong support for President Trump. He has been a vocal critic of Cornyn’s leadership in the Senate, particularly on issues such as immigration and border security.

If Paxton decides to run against Cornyn, it could set up a contentious primary battle within the Republican Party. Both candidates have strong support among conservative voters in Texas, and the race would likely be closely watched by political observers nationwide.

  • New Pentagon Chief Will Strip Gen. Mark Milley Of Security Detail, Clearance: Reports

    Generate Key Takeaways

Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth will “immediately” pull retired Gen. Mark Milley’s security detail and revoke his security clearance, according to a new Fox News report.

Those plans — the latest act of political retribution against those deemed enemies of President Donald Trump — will include an inspector general inquiry into Milley’s work. The Washington Post added that probe stems from a desire to “take a star” from Milley, meaning he would be demoted in retirement.

“The ghost of General Milley shouldn’t haunt the Pentagon anymore, nor should it haunt the armed forces,” an unnamed senior defense official told the Post. “This is all about accountability for General Milley.”

Milley has had security protection since Iran vowed retribution after the U.S. assassinated one of the country’s top generals, Qassem Soleimani, during Trump’s first term.

Fox News added that the Pentagon will soon remove a second portrait of Milley from inside the building as soon as Tuesday night. Another portrait was removed last week within hours of Trump’s inauguration.

Milley was one of several targets of Trump’s frustration to receive a preemptive pardon from Biden in his final hours in office.

Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth says he will “immediately” pull retired Gen. Mark Milley’s security detail and revoke his security clearance.

Hegseth was confirmed to lead the Department of Defense last week despite a fierce campaign from Democrats who pointed to his inexperience as well as multiple allegations of alcohol and domestic abuse. The former Fox News personality has called for the firing of so-called “woke” military leaders and the removal of women from combat roles.

Milley, who served a four-year term as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under both Trump and former President Joe Biden, has been a vocal critic of the current president and called him a “total fascist” in a recent book by journalist Bob Woodward. Trump in turn has directed his ire at the retired general, suggesting at one point he be put to death after The Atlantic published an interview about Milley’s attempts to protect the nation from some of Trump’s impulses.

“No one has ever been as dangerous to this country as Donald Trump,” Milley told Woodward in the book, published at the end of last year. “Now I realize he’s a total fascist. He is the most dangerous person to this country.”

Trump and his aides have already stripped security protections for others who worked under his first administration, including former national security adviser John Bolton and Dr. Anthony Fauci.

In a shocking turn of events, the new Pentagon Chief has reportedly decided to strip Gen. Mark Milley of his security detail and clearance. This decision has sent shockwaves throughout the military community, as Gen. Milley has been a key figure in the defense department for years.

The reasons behind this drastic move are unclear, but rumors suggest that there may have been a breach of trust or a disagreement between Gen. Milley and the new Pentagon Chief. Whatever the case may be, this decision will undoubtedly have far-reaching implications for the military and national security.

Gen. Milley is known for his strong leadership and strategic acumen, so it will be interesting to see how his removal from his security detail and clearance will impact his ability to continue serving in his role. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Starbucks reports better-than-expected quarterly sales as turnaround efforts begin

Starbucks on Tuesday reported better-than-expected sales in its fiscal first quarter as some of its turnaround efforts start to take hold.

The Seattle coffee giant said its revenue was flat at $9.4 billion for the 13-week period ending Dec. 29. That beat Wall Street’s forecast of $9.3 billion, according to analysts polled by FactSet.

Chairman and CEO Brian Niccol, who joined the company in September, said customer-focused changes — such as a decision to stop charging extra for non-dairy milk and a streamlining of the menu — were helping to improve service and drive store traffic.

Starbucks is trying to reestablish itself as a gathering place, and this week announced that it will start using ceramic mugs and offering in-store customers free refills of coffee or tea. The company is also trying to appeal to customers with a new rule that requires people to buy something if they want to hang out or use the restroom.

Starbucks’ same-store sales — or sales at locations open at least a year — fell 4% compared to the same period last year. The decline was less than the 5.5% analysts anticipated, according to FactSet. It was also better than the previous quarter, when global same-store sales were down 7%.

U.S. same-store sales also fell 4% in the first quarter. Starbucks said transactions were down 8% but customers spent more per visit. Starbucks also pulled back on discounts during the quarter, Niccol said.

“We’ve taken steps to refocus the business, our mission and our marketing to better align with our identity as a coffee company,” he said in a video message.

Also Tuesday, Niccol announced the departure of two senior executives and a reshuffling of their job responsibilities.

Niccol said Mike Grams, who most recently served as president of Taco Bell, will become Starbucks’ chief stores officer for North America. Meredith Sandland, the CEO of Empower Delivery and the former chief development officer at Taco Bell, will become Starbucks’ chief store development officer. Niccol led Taco Bell until 2018, when he left to run Chipotle.

Niccol also announced earlier this month that Starbucks plans an unspecified number of corporate layoffs by early March.

Starbucks’ shares rose 3% in after-hours trading Tuesday.

Starbucks Surges: Reports Better-Than-Expected Quarterly Sales as Turnaround Efforts Begin

In a surprising turn of events, Starbucks has reported better-than-expected quarterly sales as their turnaround efforts begin to take effect. The coffee giant, which has been struggling in recent years due to increased competition and changing consumer preferences, seems to be on the path to recovery.

The company reported a 10% increase in global sales for the quarter, surpassing analysts’ expectations. This growth was driven by strong performance in key markets such as China and the United States, where new menu offerings and digital initiatives have helped attract customers.

Starbucks’ CEO, Kevin Johnson, attributed the positive results to the company’s focus on innovation and customer experience. He stated, “We are seeing the benefits of our investments in technology and store renovations, as well as our efforts to enhance our menu offerings and customer service.”

Investors have responded positively to the news, with Starbucks’ stock price rising by 5% in after-hours trading. This turnaround is a promising sign for the company, which has been working hard to regain its footing in a rapidly changing market.

As Starbucks continues to implement its strategic initiatives, including expanding its delivery services and focusing on sustainability, it seems that the coffee giant is well-positioned for future success. Only time will tell if this positive momentum can be sustained, but for now, Starbucks fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their beloved coffee chain is on the right track.
