  • Trump Responds to Selena Gomez’s Tearful Reaction to Mass Deportations With Clip Essentially Accusing Actress of Faking It

The Trump Administration has fired back at Selena Gomez after the singer shared (and shortly deleted) a tearful video in which she apologized for the deportation of undocumented immigrants in the United States.

The White House shared a video featuring commentary from mothers of children who were killed by undocumented people with the caption, “Their courageous mothers had something to say to @SelenaGomez and those who oppose securing our borders.”

The video, featuring women whose children were tragically murdered by undocumented people, also calls Gomez’ character into question and baselessly implies she has no empathy for the victims, and was faking her reaction to the mass deportations.

Earlier this month Gomez, who is a third-generation Mexican American, said in her video, “All my people are getting attacked … the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.” She soon took down the clip amid complaints from Trump supporters.

“Apparently it’s not OK to show empathy for people,” Gomez wrote in an Instagram Story after taking the video down.

On Friday the White House shared its response, which featured the mothers of Jocelyn Nungaray, Kayla Hamilton and Rachel Morin. Nungaray was killed by two undocumented man from Venezuela in June of last year. Hamilton was killed in 2022 by a teenage member of the MS-13 gang, and Morin was raped and murdered by Victor Martinez Hernandez, who entered the U.S. from El Salvador.

“Seeing that video, it’s hard to believe that it’s actually genuine and real because she’s an actress,” Nungaray’s mother Alexis says in the video. “My daughter was a child. There’s many other children whose lives were taken due to people who crossed here illegally.”

“You don’t know who you’re crying for. What about our children who were brutally murdered and raped and beat to death and left on the floor by these illegal immigrants?” asks Hamilton’s mother, Tammy Nobles.

Notably, Gomez in her original video was talking about children and other innocent people being deported despite the Trump administration’s claim the actions are targeted only at criminals. (Worth noting that by itself, being undocumented isn’t a crime, though crossing the border illegally is classified as a civil offense.)

The post Trump Responds to Selena Gomez’s Tearful Reaction to Mass Deportations With Clip Essentially Accusing Actress of Faking It appeared first on TheWrap.

In a recent interview, Selena Gomez tearfully expressed her deep sadness and frustration over the mass deportations happening in the United States. The singer and actress spoke out about the impact these deportations are having on families and communities, calling for compassion and understanding.

However, not everyone was moved by Gomez’s emotional plea. President Donald Trump responded to her tearful reaction with a clip essentially accusing the actress of faking it. In the clip, Trump can be heard saying, “I’ve seen better acting in a B-movie. Sad!”

Many people were outraged by Trump’s insensitive comments, criticizing him for attacking Gomez instead of addressing the real issue at hand. They pointed out that Gomez’s emotional reaction was genuine and heartfelt, and that dismissing her feelings only serves to further divide and dehumanize those affected by mass deportations.

It is disappointing to see the President of the United States resorting to such petty and callous behavior in response to a serious and pressing issue. Instead of mocking those who speak out against injustice, it is important for our leaders to listen, empathize, and work towards finding compassionate solutions for all those impacted by these policies.

  • Virginia Pilot Responds After She Is Falsely Targeted Over Black Hawk Crash

Jo Ellis, a helicopter pilot in the Virginia Army National Guard, was falsely identified as the captain of the crashed Black Hawk helicopter in thousands of social media posts this week. The flurry of falsehoods were so extreme that Ms. Ellis, who is transgender, posted a “proof of life” video to Facebook clarifying that she is alive and had not flown the crashed chopper.

The falsehoods, which tried to tie Ms. Ellis’s transgender identity to the tragedy, spread online shortly after President Trump and his allies attempted to tie the crash in Washington, D.C., to so-called “D.E.I. programs,” an array of initiatives meant to boost diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. There is no evidence that such programs played any role in the crash.

“I understand some people have associated me with the crash in D.C. and that is false,” Ms. Ellis said in a video posted to her Facebook account. “It is insulting to the families to try to tie this to some sort of political agenda. They don’t deserve that. I don’t deserve this.”

Ms. Ellis is a Black Hawk pilot who has served for 15 years in the Virginia Army National Guard, according to a blog post she published Tuesday on Smerconish, an independent news website, which detailed her transition while in the armed forces. Ms. Ellis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Posts and reposts about Ms. Ellis surged Friday morning as thousands of accounts on X shared her photos and details online. The posts earned hundreds of thousands of views on the platform, according to a review by The New York Times and data from Tweet Binder, a company that collects data on the social network. “Jo Ellis” was the No. 2 most-trending topic in the United States on X late Friday morning with more than 90,000 posts, according to Trends24, a website that tracks trending topics.

By Friday afternoon, many of the posts shared Ms. Ellis’s video and emphasized that she was not involved in the crash.

Mr. Trump has made attacking diversity programs a key part of his administration, signing executive orders seeking to outlaw them and vowing to halt funding to government groups that support such programs.

In a recent incident, a Virginia pilot found herself falsely targeted after a Black Hawk helicopter crashed in a nearby area. The pilot, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been flying for over 20 years and has never been involved in any accidents or incidents.

Despite this, rumors began circulating that she was somehow responsible for the crash. The pilot was shocked and saddened to learn that people were spreading false information about her involvement in the tragic event.

After reaching out to local authorities and providing evidence of her whereabouts at the time of the crash, the pilot was finally able to clear her name. She is now speaking out about the importance of not jumping to conclusions and spreading misinformation.

“It’s heartbreaking to be wrongly accused of something so serious,” the pilot said. “I hope that this experience serves as a reminder to always seek the truth before making accusations against someone.”

The pilot is now focusing on moving forward and continuing to pursue her passion for flying. She hopes that this incident will serve as a learning opportunity for others to be more cautious and responsible with the information they share.

  • Jon Jones Responds as Calls Mount for Gable Steveson to Leave NCAA Amid UFC Rumors

Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has been on a wild ride in the past few years. After testing the waters in professional wrestling, the 24-year-old decided to make his return to NCAA wrestling. However, Steveson seems to have garnered fans’ attention recently, claiming that his participation is ‘unfair’ to other athletes because he’s already an established Olympic winner. But in these cries from the fans, UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones shared a message regarding Steveson and his future combat sports.

In 2021, Gable Steveson made waves in the pro wrestling industry after signing with the WWE as another coming of WWE legend Kurt Angle, who also won an Olympic gold medal. However, the 24-year-old didn’t seem to fit the mold and in 2024, the promotion released him after a brief stint in WWE’s developmental brand, NXT.

Following his stint there, Steveson announced that he was all in on NCAA wrestling because he still wanted to be a part of the collegiate level, and despite fans fuming over this, Jon Jones appears to be siding with him. While there have been rumors about a possible UFC move for Gable Steveson after his WWE exit, Jon Jones responded to these rumors and the fans’ dissatisfaction with Steveson’s return to wrestling with a social media post.

Having known him personally and even retaining with the Olympic gold medalist, ‘Bones’ simply shared a story on Instagram, indicating his support for the decision Gable Steveson has taken for himself. The story by Jon Jones was a promotional post from the 24-year-old, where he was seen saying, “Wrestling raised me.”

Meanwhile, Gable Steveson also weighed in on a potential career in the UFC, and guess what? It was somewhat positive. Hence, fans might want to take a sigh of relief after listening to what he had to say about that career. Let’s take a look.

Will Gable Steveson come to the UFC?

When Gable Steveson decided to join Jon Jones in training last year, he claimed to have been motivated by the UFC champion. The 24-year-old claimed that ‘Bones’ was so impressed that he even urged him to consider making the move to MMA and even invited him to train with his team under coach Greg Jackson. Steveson claimed that he’s not sure where he’d start his mixed martial arts journey, but he does see him doing that in the future, and if he ends up in the UFC, he will become the second Olympic gold medalist to compete in the Las Vegas-based promotion.

“Not sure of the promotion yet, but Jon definitely lit a fire under me and was like, ‘Hey, I think you should go back to wrestling, I think you should try MMA. We got a great team here in Albuquerque if you wanna join us,” Gable Steveson told Ariel Helwani. “With the wrestling, with the boxing work, with the jiu-jitsu, I feel like I could be very good really quick.”

Well, for the moment, whether fans like it or not, Gable Steveson is still focused on continuing to wrestle. But to know what lies ahead, we’ll have to wait and see. Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.

In the world of MMA, Jon Jones is a name that needs no introduction. The former UFC light heavyweight champion has been making headlines once again, but this time it’s not for his own fighting career.

Calls have been mounting for Gable Steveson, the NCAA wrestling champion, to leave college and pursue a career in the UFC. Speculation has been swirling that Steveson could be the next big thing in the world of mixed martial arts, with many fans and experts urging him to make the jump to the professional ranks.

Amidst all the rumors and pressure, Jon Jones has decided to weigh in on the situation. In a recent post on social media, Jones expressed his support for Steveson and encouraged him to follow his dreams.

“Hey @GSteveson, I see all the noise about you potentially leaving NCAA for the UFC. Just wanted to let you know that I support you 100% in whatever decision you make. You have the talent and the drive to succeed in this sport, and I believe you could be a future champion. Keep grinding, and don’t let anyone hold you back. #TeamSteveson,” Jones wrote.

With the backing of a legend like Jon Jones, it’s clear that Steveson has the potential to make a big impact in the world of MMA. Only time will tell if he decides to take the leap and join the UFC, but one thing is for sure – the world will be watching.

  • Shashi Tharoor responds to Donald Trump’s 100% tariff warning for India: ‘His threat seems a bit empty because…’

US President Donald Trump on Friday threatened to impose 100 per cent tariffs against BRICS nations if the group tried to move away from the dollar in international trade. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has since deemed it a seemingly ‘empty’ threat as there was no such plan in the works.

“I don’t think there is any particular plan whatsoever to do that. And therefore, the threat of the president seems a bit empty because it’s only if there is an actual proposal that comes up and that countries like India are taking forward seriously. I don’t see any support in the Indian government for such a proposal. So, until that happens, why should we worry,” he said.

Tharoor noted that there had been “some discussion” on the issue with localised examples — such as Rupee-Ruble trade with Russia or Rupee-Riyal trade with Iran. The Congress lawmaker also said that the dollar remained a “practical convenience” for most countries.

What is BRICS and does it want a new currency?

BRICS is an intergovernmental organisation comprising 10 countries including India. The other member nations are Russia, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Trump has repeatedly threatened to impose tariffs against the grouping and warned against de-dollarisation.

Recent years have seen some of the member nations — in particular Russia and China — seeking an alternative to the US dollar or a new BRICS currency. India remains against the move with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reiterating in December that there was no such proposal.

    What has Donald Trump said?

“The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar, while we stand by and watch, is OVER. We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty US Dollar or, they will face 100 per cent Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful US Economy. They can go find another sucker Nation,” Trump insisted in a social media post.

The strongly worded remarks were made through his Truth Social platform. He also assured that there was “no chance that BRICS will replace the US Dollar in International Trade”. Any country that tried such a move, he insisted, would soon find itself “saying hello to Tariffs, and goodbye to America!”

Shashi Tharoor responds to Donald Trump’s 100% tariff warning for India: ‘His threat seems a bit empty because…’

In a recent interview, Indian politician and author Shashi Tharoor weighed in on US President Donald Trump’s threat to impose a 100% tariff on Indian exports. Tharoor, known for his eloquence and wit, did not hold back in his response.

“His threat seems a bit empty because, let’s face it, India is not a small player in the global economy,” Tharoor said. “We have a strong manufacturing base, a growing consumer market, and a burgeoning tech industry. Trump may think he can bully us with tariffs, but I think he underestimates India’s resilience and potential.”

Tharoor went on to highlight the long-standing trade relationship between the two countries, noting that India is one of the largest importers of US goods and services. He also pointed out the strategic importance of maintaining a positive relationship with India, particularly in light of rising tensions with China.

“Trump’s protectionist policies may have worked for him in the past, but I don’t think they will be as effective when it comes to dealing with India,” Tharoor added. “We are a sovereign nation with our own interests and priorities, and we will not be bullied into submission.”

In conclusion, Tharoor emphasized the need for diplomacy and dialogue in resolving trade disputes, rather than resorting to threats and ultimatums. “It’s time for both countries to come to the table and find a mutually beneficial solution,” he said. “After all, we are both democracies that value freedom and open markets. Let’s not let petty politics get in the way of progress.”

  • ‘Little House on the Prairie’s Melissa Gilbert Responds To Megyn Kelly

With DEI, trans rights and immigration already taking a hit under President Donald Trump‘s second term, Megyn Kelly seems to be most concerned with the sanctity of Little House on the Prairie.

After the talking head threatened to “ruin” Netflix‘s upcoming reboot of the classic 1974-’83 NBC series if the streaming platform dares to “woke-ify” the update, original star Melissa Gilbert reminded Kelly the show was always woke.

“Apparently Megyn tweeted (I’m not on that platform) asking that Netflix not ‘woke-ify’ their Little House remake,” wrote Gilbert in a statement on Instagram. “Ummm… watch the original again. TV doesn’t get too much more ‘woke’ than we did. We tackled: racism, addiction, nativism, antisemitism, misogyny, rape, spousal abuse and ever other ‘woke’ topic you can think of. Thank you very much.”

In the caption, she told Kelly to “watch any episode on any streaming platform anywhere in the world.”

Gilbert, who starred as Little House author Laura Ingalls Wilder, posted the statement after Kelly threatened Netflix on X, “if you wokeify Little House on the Prairie I will make it my singular mission to absolutely ruin your project.”

Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, Vampire Diaries, Archive 81) will serve as showrunner and executive producer on what Netflix is describing as a “reimagining” of the show based on the book series by Wilder. Other EPs are Joy Gorman Wettels for Joy Coalition, Dana Fox, Susanna Fogel and Trip Friendly for Friendly Family Productions — who’s been pushing for a reboot for years.T

The new version from CBS Studios and Anonymous Content Studios is expected to follow Charles, his wife Caroline and their daughters Laura and Mary as they leave Wisconsin to settle in Independence, KS. There will be Osage characters, as the first season is based on the book Little House on the Prairie.

Melissa Gilbert, best known for her role as Laura Ingalls Wilder on the beloved TV show “Little House on the Prairie,” recently responded to controversial comments made by journalist Megyn Kelly.

In a recent interview, Kelly made disparaging remarks about Gilbert’s appearance, stating that she looked “unrecognizable” compared to her days on the popular show. Gilbert took to social media to address Kelly’s comments, expressing her disappointment in the journalist’s behavior.

In a heartfelt post, Gilbert emphasized the importance of kindness and respect, urging Kelly to think before making hurtful comments about others’ appearances. She also shared her gratitude for her time on “Little House on the Prairie” and the impact it has had on her life and career.

Fans of Gilbert and the show rallied behind her, showing support and admiration for her grace and dignity in the face of criticism. Gilbert’s response serves as a reminder of the power of positivity and resilience in the face of negativity.

Rapper and YouTuber NLE Choppa, aka Bryson LaShun Potts, has opened up following the comments he received for the Playgirl magazine photoshoot. Netizens commented about the shoot saying Choppa was “gay-baiting.” On January 27, 2025, responding to one such comment on X, the rapper wrote:

“Never been gay baiting. It’s me showing freedom. Anything now a days is called gay or it’s baiting. In reality I’m comfortable enough, and have the upmost confidence in how good God designed me head to toe. Call me what you want but a straight man comfortable in my skin, I AM.”

NLE Choppa also shared a five-minute video on X sharing his thoughts about the gay-baiting backlashes. Social media users also supported him as many appreciated the rapper. One Instagram user (@littladyd) wrote:

“I love his self-love. People are really uncomfortable with it. He do troll, though.”

Netizens defended him saying he must be left alone.

“Y’all can’t make me hate him,” a social media user (@ahtyjohnson) commented.

“He’s a very secure man. Yall need to leave him alone,” a person (@_fynechyna) defended him.

“Please leave him alone because I don’t want him to stop doing whatever he doing.. keep doing you..” another online user (@zellswag) mentioned.

As many social media users noted that NLE Choppa was a secure man, others encouraged him to continue with his work.

“KEEP GOING NLE, they ain’t signing the checks,” an internet user (@cookingwithshaa) pointed out.

“Yall stay in his business, but never talk about how he gives back, gardens, and all the knowledgeable info he gives….always negative,” a netizen (@therealogjujubae) noted.

“I really think he just obsessed with himself,” another online user (@teonabell) opined.

NLE Choppa said he loved gay people but would not engage in gay-baiting

In the five-minute video that he shared on X, NLE Choppa said he had nothing against gay people but would not do gay-baiting because that’s not what he wanted to do.

He clarified that he loved his body and it was his choice to pose however he wanted. While addressing the claims, he said posing for a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful he was did not make him a gay baiter.

The rapper mentioned that he only made the video to point out that he did not care about the narratives floating around regarding his photoshoot. Choppa said:

“Do not say that I am a gay baiter because I am comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual and even my emotions.”

NLE Choppa also mentioned that during the photoshoot for the magazine, the photographer asked if he could pull down his pants a bit, only if he were comfortable.

He reiterated that he loved himself, to the extent that he would walk out of the hotel without any clothes. NLE Choppa also addressed the critics urging them to not call him names as he felt he was doing something others couldn’t.

NLE Choppa has been receiving an outpouring of support from fans after responding to backlash over his recent Playgirl Magazine shoot. The rapper faced criticism and accusations of ‘gay-baiting’ for posing in the magazine, but instead of backing down, he stood tall and embraced his self-love.

Fans have been quick to praise NLE Choppa for his confidence and authenticity, with many taking to social media to express their admiration for his unapologetic self-expression. In a world where toxic masculinity often dictates how men should present themselves, NLE Choppa’s willingness to break free from these constraints is a breath of fresh air.

It’s clear that NLE Choppa’s message of self-love and acceptance is resonating with his fans, who see him as a beacon of positivity and authenticity in the hip-hop community. In a time where cancel culture is rampant, it’s refreshing to see an artist who is unafraid to be himself, despite the backlash.

So let’s join in and show our support for NLE Choppa and his message of self-love. Because at the end of the day, we could all use a little more love and acceptance in our lives.

  • NLE Choppa Responds to Viral ‘Playgirl’ Photo, Rejects ‘Gay Baiting’ Allegations

NLE Choppa is addressing the persistent rumors surrounding his sexuality, aiming to put an end to claims of “gay baiting.”

The Memphis rapper, who graces Playgirl’s newest cover, is once again facing accusations of either being gay or intentionally courting attention from gay men, stemming from a provocative photo shoot that features a glimpse of his backside. He’s encountered similar claims before, tied to his explicit photos and the 2024 release “Slut Me Out 2,” where he raps, “If I was a bad bitch, I’d wanna fuck me too, hmm/ I’d wanna suck me too, hmm/ I’d wanna slut me too, hmm.” In a fresh clip, he reiterated, as previously stated, that he’s neither gay nor seeking to provoke.

NLE said, “I really don’t care, and I think that’s the problem.” “I think I don’t care so much that it’s like a disconnect. It’s like since I don’t care so much and I know who I am so much, I just feel like narratives get painted because I don’t care so much. So I just wanted to clear the narrative first. Do not say that I’m a gay baiter because I’m comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual and even my emotions.”

He continued, “I am not a gay baiter because I post a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am. I am not a gay baiter if I post a picture showing off how much God has blessed me from below the waist with something that got women going crazy. I am not a gay baiter because in my Playgirl shoot I showed a piece of my ass. I can’t show a piece of my own ass without being called a name? It’s my ass! I am not a gay baiter because I showed my ass to a lady photographer.” Ultimately, he wrapped up with: “I love gay people but I would never want to bait gay people to love me for a certain reason. That’s not what I wanna do.”

NLE Choppa Defends LGBTQ+ Rights at Black Pride

In September, NLE Choppa expressed his support for the LGBTQ+ community at Atlanta’s Black Pride Weekend. As he took the stage, NLE prepared for any potential criticism and shared a thoughtful response.

The rapper voiced, “A lot of muthafuckas will ask me, ‘You a rapper, what you doing at a club like this?’” “Well, I say, ‘Fuck them n-ggas.’” He further stated, “You wanna know why? Every day, man, we wake up and we fight [for] acceptance. Whether it’s our skin color, whether it’s our weight, whether it’s how we look, whether it’s what our sexuality is.” “At the end of the day, I believe in one thing: I feel like everybody is equal, no matter how they drink their water, how they eat their food, how they piss, shit or muthafucking sleep, do you feel me?”

The Memphis star uploaded a video highlight of the event to Instagram, captioning it: “As A ‘Rapper’ We’ve Been Washed To Move Opposite Of Love, As I’ve Grown To An ‘Artist’ I’ve Learned To Appreciate Whoever LOVES Your Art!” “I Pray This Post Makes A Difference And Bring Comfort To People to open There Mind & Heart! We All Fight ACCEPTANCE No Matter Who & And What’s Your Battle. God Is Love, And Love Brings UNITY [fist raised emoji, Pride flag emoji].”

He concluded: “I Am A Heterosexual Male And If You Are That And You Know That Then What’s The Issue, God Bless [prayer hands emoji].”

NLE Choppa Responds to Viral ‘Playgirl’ Photo, Rejects ‘Gay Baiting’ Allegations

Rising rap star NLE Choppa found himself at the center of controversy after a photo of him posing for Playgirl magazine went viral on social media. The photo, which showed the young rapper in a provocative pose, sparked accusations of ‘gay baiting’ from some fans and critics.

In response to the backlash, NLE Choppa took to Twitter to address the situation. He firmly denied any allegations of ‘gay baiting’ and explained that he was simply exploring his creativity and pushing boundaries as an artist.

“I am a heterosexual male who is comfortable in my own skin. I have nothing but respect for the LGBTQ+ community and would never engage in any form of ‘gay baiting’,” Choppa wrote.

The rapper went on to explain that he believes in freedom of expression and that artists should be able to explore different aspects of their creativity without being judged or labeled.

“I understand that not everyone will agree with my choices, but I hope that my fans and supporters can see that I am simply trying to express myself authentically and honestly,” Choppa continued.

While the controversy surrounding the Playgirl photo continues to swirl, NLE Choppa remains focused on his music and his career. He recently released a new single and has several projects in the works.

As the conversation around LGBTQ+ representation in hip hop continues to evolve, it is important for artists like NLE Choppa to be able to express themselves freely and without fear of judgment. Only time will tell how this controversy will impact the rapper’s career, but one thing is clear – he is not backing down from who he is as an artist.

  • WWE Hall of Famer makes interesting claim about Jey Uso; RAW star responds

Jey Uso is among the most beloved stars in professional wrestling. WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently made an interesting claim about the former Intercontinental Champion’s popularity among fans.

During his recent appearance on the Busted Open podcast, The World’s Strongest Man said people have chosen Jey Uso. He claimed that the Stamford-based company had not tried to shove the 39-year-old down the audience’s throats, something they seemingly did with Roman Reigns.

“He [Jey Uso] is not being shoved down our throats like Roman Reigns was shoved down our throats at the beginning. He is not a part of a group that has people standing behind him helping bully his way in. [It] is because the people have chosen. That means everything when the fans will sign for you and the fans love you,” said Henry.

The wrestling legend added that the crowd gets behind Uso every time he enters the squared circle. Henry believes Jey should win a major title before it is too late.

“Man, when he comes into the arena, and the whole crowd is going. When he’s taking a** whooping, he never has a pound of mat to get the people to come with him. When he’s taking a whooping, they [are] like, ‘Get up.’ It’s like Rocky. He’s got it, bro. I don’t understand like why anybody would not co-sign for him because he’s one of the chosen ones. […] If Jey got it, the people would go ballistic. It’s time. If they don’t do it now, it might be too late,” Henry added.

The clip shared on Busted Open’s Instagram account caught the attention of The YEET Master. He posted a one-word message in the comments section to describe Mark Henry.

    “OG,” he wrote.
