Chip Kelly reportedly returns to the NFL
Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is returning to the NFL.
The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly hiring him to be their new offensive coordinator on Pete Carroll’s coaching staff, according to an ESPN report.
Kelly, 61, hasn’t been in the National Football League since going one-and-done with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. Prior to that, he had mixed results as the Eagles’ head coach from 2013 to 2015. He started strong but faded fast as he pushed for more personnel control.
Kelly was the head coach at UCLA from 2018 through 2023 before being hired as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator in 2024. As a member of former Eagles quarterbacks coach Ryan Day’s coaching staff, Kelly recently helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship title.
It’ll be interesting to see how Kelly fares in his return to the NFL. The league had clearly caught up to him before he returned to the college football ranks.
Kelly will return to Lincoln Financial Field for the first time since 2015 when the Raiders visit Philadelphia to play the Eagles in 2025.
After a brief stint in college football, Chip Kelly is reportedly making his return to the NFL. The former head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers is rumored to be in talks with multiple teams about potential coaching opportunities.Kelly’s fast-paced, high-powered offensive style made him a hot commodity in the NFL when he first burst onto the scene with the Eagles in 2013. While his tenure in Philadelphia ended in disappointment, Kelly’s innovative approach to the game could be a valuable asset to a team looking to shake things up.
Stay tuned for more updates on Chip Kelly’s potential return to the NFL and which team he might end up coaching next. It’s sure to be an interesting development in the world of football.

(Bloomberg) — A lot has happened since news of Marko Kolanovic’s abrupt exit from JPMorgan Chase & Co. last summer sent shockwaves across Wall Street.
Most Read from Bloomberg
The Federal Reserve cut interest rates for the first time in four years. Donald Trump captured the US presidency. The S&P 500 Index gained another 9%. And his former colleagues capitulated on their bearish views.
But to the celebrity strategist, who was among the last pessimists standing against this bull market when he left the business last year, not much has changed. US stocks face so many risks, from high concentration to geopolitical turmoil, that they’re still due for a substantial downturn, he says. The S&P 500 is trading above 6,000 and hit a new high two weeks ago, but Kolanovic sees it falling up to 1,000 points or more.
“I do think we’ll go back down in the 5,000s this year,” Kolanovic said on Bloomberg’s Odd Lots podcast. Potential turmoil from the new political climate could bring the gauge down “much lower into 4,000 — I think there’s some probability of that.”
The strategist has not announced plans for his next endeavor. But he still has a large following among investors. After his departure from JPMorgan, he joined social media platforms, including Elon Musk’s X.
While Kolanovic hasn’t changed his tune, this gloomy forecast looks timely with Big Tech stocks largely flat over the past six weeks, questions raging about US dominance in artificial intelligence, and concern that sticky inflation could force Fed officials to hold interest rates elevated for longer than originally expected.
Trump’s trade war is adding a new layer of uncertainty. US stock index futures slid on Monday after Trump announced tariffs on goods coming from Mexico, Canada and China in a move that threatens to upend global trade.
Turbulence Ahead
The declines come after worries last week around a cheap AI model from Chinese startup DeepSeek spurred a $1 trillion rout in US equities, with Nvidia Corp. losing $593 billion in market value in a single session, the biggest drop in US stock-market history. US equity benchmarks have since recouped most of those losses, but Kolanovic suspects there’s more turbulence ahead.
“It’s perhaps not over,” Kolanovic said. “We still have a few important earnings to come, so it remains to be seen what happens, maybe another week of earnings, whether there is any sort of follow through.”
In a recent report, JPMorgan’s quant guru Marko Kolanovic has returned with a bold prediction for an S&P 500 downturn. Kolanovic, known for his accurate market calls, has warned that the stock market could be heading for a significant pullback in the near future.According to Kolanovic, a combination of factors including rising inflation, looming interest rate hikes, and geopolitical tensions could trigger a correction in the S&P 500. He points to tightening central bank policies and the potential for a slowdown in economic growth as key catalysts for the downturn.
Investors are advised to tread cautiously and consider hedging their portfolios against potential market volatility. Kolanovic’s track record of forecasting market trends lends credence to his latest prediction, making it a warning worth heeding.
As always, it’s important to do your own research and consult with a financial advisor before making any investment decisions. Stay tuned for updates on the market as we continue to monitor the situation closely.

After securing a series-clinching victory on Friday, India take on England in the fifth T20I on Sunday, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The fourth T20I also saw controversy as Harshit Rana was allowed to be Shivam Dube’s concussion substitute and removed Liam Livingstone off his second delivery. Dube has cleared the concussion protocol tests and is allowed to be included in the playing XI. Members from the England camp feel that Rana coming in for Dube wasn’t a like-for-like substitution and was unfair.
India’s Shivam Dube (R) celebrates with his teammate Axar Patel after scoring a half-century (50 runs) during the fourth T20I.(AFP) The fourth T20I saw Hardik Pandya (53) and Shivam Dube’s (53) half-centuries take India to 181/9 in 20 overs. Meanwhile, Saquib Mahmood struck thrice for the visitors and Jamie Overton took two wickets. Chasing 182 runs, England were bowled out for 166 in 19.4 overs, despite a half-century from Harry Brook (51). Meanwhile for India’s bowling department, Ravi Bishnoi and Rana bagged three dismissals each respectively.
In the fifth T20I, Sanju Samson is once again expected to open with Abhishek Sharma. Samson is in poor batting form and could only muster one run off three balls in the previous fixture. Unlike his opening partner, Abhishek has been in good form and is the highest run-scorer in the ongoing series, with 144 runs at a strike rate of 197.26, and has also clobbered 17 fours and nine sixes.
In the fourth fixture, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed for ducks. Tilak departed in the first ball and skipper Suryakumar faced only four deliveries. They are expected to keep their place, and will bat at no. 3 and no. 4 in the order.
Rinku Singh got a gritty 26-ball 30-run knock in the previous fixture, and also hammered four fours and a maximum. He is expected to retain his place and will bat at no. 5, followed by Dube and Pandya, who were crucial in the previous fixture. Dube was also adjudged as Player of the Match for his quickfire half-century (53 off 34 deliveries).
Axar Patel will be the last batting all-rounder in the batting order, coming after Hardik. He was dismissed for five runs off four balls. Meanwhile, the tailenders will consist of Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy.
India’s likely XI vs England-
Openers: Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma
Middle order: Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube
All-rounders: Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel
Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy
After missing the last few matches due to a concussion, all-rounder Shivam Dube is set to make his return to the Indian lineup for the fifth T20I against England. Dube’s presence will provide a much-needed boost to the team, especially in the absence of Hardik Pandya who is still recovering from a shoulder injury. On the other hand, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, who has been struggling for form in the series so far, is likely to retain his place in the playing XI. Despite not making significant contributions with the bat, the team management seems to have faith in Samson’s abilities and will give him another opportunity to prove himself.
Here is India’s likely XI for the fifth T20I against England:
1. Rohit Sharma
2. KL Rahul (wk)
3. Virat Kohli (c)
4. Suryakumar Yadav
5. Rishabh Pant
6. Hardik Pandya
7. Shivam Dube
8. Washington Sundar
9. Shardul Thakur
10. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
11. Yuzvendra ChahalWith the series currently tied at 2-2, both teams will be looking to put their best foot forward in the final match to clinch the series. It will be interesting to see how the inclusion of Shivam Dube and the persistence with Sanju Samson will impact India’s performance in the crucial encounter.

Men’s Basketball Returns Home for Wolverines Saturday
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men’s basketball returns to Jersey Mikes Arena for the first time since January 13 as the Scarlet Knights will host Michigan at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be broadcast nationally on FOX with Kevin Kugler and the 5th selection in the 1992 NBA Draft, LaPhonso Ellis, on the call.
Rutgers returns to Jersey Mike’s Arena after four straight contests away from the venue. That stretch included three true road games (at Nebraska, at Penn State, at Northwestern) and a home game at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Scarlet Knights enter the game at 11-10 overall and 4-6 in Big Ten play following a 79-72 victory at Northwestern behind a virtuoso performance from freshman Ace Bailey. The Scarlet Knights stand within a crowded pack in the league standings as one of eight teams between 4 and 6 wins.
RU has won three of the past five games. The team is looking for its first stretch of four wins in six games since opening the season with a 5-1 mark.
Rutgers shot 57.1 percent from the field against the Wildcats, the best shooting performance in a Big Ten game since 2023. The mark from three-point range was also 57.1 percent, which was the best in a Big Ten game since 2022. Ace Bailey keyed the offense, as he posted 37 points on 13-of-20 shooting, 5-of-8 from 3-point, 6-of-6 from the free throw line, six rebounds and three blocks.
Bailey became the first Division I freshman to log multiple 35-point games on the road since Trae Young in 2017-18. His 37-6-3 stat line has been reached just three times this season (twice by him) and just nine times by a freshman since 2007 and only previously by players ultimately selected No. 1 or No. 2 in the NBA Draft (Kevin Durant, Michael Beasley, Ben Simmons, Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Edwards). It was the most points by a visiting player at Welsh-Ryan Arena
Bailey’s January stretch in Big Ten play has been red hot, starting with a 39 point outburst against Indiana. Bailey has posted 194 points in eight January Big Ten games, averaging 24.3 points per game in that stretch. He also averages 9.2 rebounds per game in that eight-game stretch. In his last six games, Bailey has made 26-of-29 free throws (89.6%). In his last four games, Bailey has made 15-of-25 three-pointers (60%).
Bailey has the two highest scoring games in Big Ten play this season (39 at Indiana, 37 at Northwestern). He’s made 13 field goals in a league game three times, while the rest of the conference has only done it three times. It was his third game this season of 30+ points and 10th game of 20+ points. Bailey’s averaging 22.1 points per game in league play, best in the league. He also moved up to 10th nationally overall in points per game.
Bailey and Harper each have two games this season with 36+ points. Only one other freshmen this season has scored 36+ points in a game this season (Cooper Flagg, 42 points vs. Notre Dame).
They are the only pair of two freshmen from the same team to score 36 or more points in a game twice in a season since 2004. The only players to have 3 or more games of 36+ points since 2004 are Michael Beasley (2007-08, four times, Kansas State), Kevin Durant (2006-07, four times, Texas), Rodney Stuckey (2005-06, three times, Eastern Washington) and Trae Young (2017-18, five times, Oklahoma).
RU, who has never averaged more than 69 points per game under head coach Steve Pikiell is averaging 76.6 points per game this season. Rutgers has averaged over 76.5 points per game just 14 times in the school’s 111-year history (and not since 1992-92). The last time RU averaged over even 70 points per game was 2013-14 (71.1 ppg). RU has averaged over 70 points per game for a full season just that one time since the start of the 2001-02 season.
Freshmen Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper are approaching historic ranks for their scoring output among Rutgers’ freshmen, each among the top scoring seasons by a true freshman Scarlet Knight.
Bailey (394 points) surpassed Geo Baker last game and is just one point behind Hollis Copeland for entering the top five of all RU true freshmen scorers. Dylan Harper (354 points) stands just one point behind Ricky Shields and four points behind Baker.
Rutgers True Freshmen Season Scoring Leaders: Total Points
- Mike Rosario (08-09): 517
- Phil Sellers (72-73): 506
- Corey Sanders (15-16): 430
- Quincy Douby (03-04): 412
- Hollis Copeland (74-75): 395
- Ace Bailey (24-25): 394
- Geo Baker (17-18): 358
- Ricky Shields (01-02): 355
- Dylan Harper (24-25): 354
Under first-year head coach Dusty May, Michigan enters the matchup at 15-5 overall and 7-2 in the conference. UM is just 5-5 away from home however (3-2 in road games, 2-3 at neutral sites). The Wolverines have lost two of their last three games (overtime at Minnesota, home win over Northwestern, 27-point loss at No. 11 Purdue). Prior to that, was a five-game winning streak and a 14-3 start to the season that saw them ranked as high as No. 14 in the country.
Vlad Goldin leads the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game, one of five Wolverines in double-figures (Tre Donaldson, Danny Wolf, Roddy Gayle Jr. and Nimari Burnett are all between 10.7 and 12.9 points per game). Wolf leads the team with 9.8 rebounds, while Donaldson has a team-high 85 assists.
The team is keyed by a pair of 7-footers inside. Both Goldin (33 blocks) and Wolf (29 blocks) are in the top-10 in the league in rejections. Goldin shoots 63.5% from the field, in the top-10 nationally, while Wolf’s 7.55 defensive rebounds per game are also in the top-10 nationally.
As a team, Michigan shoots 49.9 percent from the field, averages 17.9 assists and 83.2 points per game. All three rank in the top-25 in the country.
Michigan leads the all-time series 16-4. However, RU has won three straight games and four of the past six contests in the series since 2022 after the Wolverines won the first 14 games. The current three-game winning streak has come at three separate venues (2023 Big Ten Tournament at the United Center in Chicago, Crisler Center in February 2024, Jersey Mike’s Arena in February 2024). The Scarlet Knights won by a 30-point margin in the last meeting, the largest margin of victory in the all-time series. Prior wins included a second half comeback for a 69-59 win at the Crisler Center, and a defensive effort in the Big Ten Tournament, where RU limited UM to 19 percent shooting in a 62-50 win. Rutgers has held Michigan under 60 points in each of the past three games.
- Fourth straight win over Michigan
- Five wins in the past seven games against Michigan
- Four wins in the past six games
The game against Michigan is the first of a three-home games in four span. RU remains at home to host No. 18/20 Illinois on Wednesday Feb. 5. After a trip to Maryland, the Scarlet Knights are back home on Feb. 12 to host Iowa.
The men’s basketball team is gearing up for their highly anticipated home game this Saturday against the Wolverines. After a successful road trip, they are excited to showcase their skills in front of their loyal fans once again. The team has been working hard in practice and is ready to take on their opponents on their home court. #Mens #Basketball #Returns #Home #Wolverines #SaturdayCollege basketball rankings: Johni Broome returns, igniting Player of the Year race as Auburn edges Duke
On the same day Auburn’s Johni Broome suffered an ankle injury at South Carolina that sidelined him for two weeks, Duke’s Cooper Flagg scored a career-high 42 points in a victory at Notre Dame.
That’s when the Player of the Year race flipped.
With Broome on the mend and Flagg on the rise, a decent percentage of us who cover the sport started publicly suggesting that the Wooden Award is Flagg’s to lose. And, in fairness, it probably is; there’s data to support the claim. But if you thought the Player of the Year race was over, think again. Because in just his second game back from that ankle injury, Broome delivered a monster performance of 26 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks in Wednesday’s 87-74 win at LSU that tightened what feels like a two-man race between the two best players on the two best teams.
“That’s a Quad 1 win,” said Auburn coach Bruce Pearl. “That’s a great win for our ball club.”
This season has been filled with great wins for Pearl’s ball club, evidence being that Auburn (19-1 overall) is 12-1 in Quadrant 1 games. It’s a body of work so good that the Tigers are No. 1 in Thursday morning’s updated CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings for the 23rd consecutive day — and I’ll even take it a step further. Auburn’s body of work is so good, and so superior to anybody else’s, that AP voters should keep the Tigers No. 1 on Monday even if they lose Saturday at Ole Miss.
I know I will.
Cooper Flagg Tracker: Duke star freshman posts monster second half as Blue Devils survive NC State’s upset bid
David Cobb
Obviously, ranking basketball teams is a subjective process and different people do it different ways. Whatever. But this deep into any season, I’ve long believed the body of work should be the biggest factor. And, undeniably, Auburn’s body of work will still be far superior to anybody else’s on Monday regardless of what happens between now and then.
That’s a fact.
Like I explained earlier in the week, to understand my approach to ranking teams, and, more importantly, the selection committee’s approach to selecting and seeding teams, it’s best to think of Auburn as a golfer with a four-shot lead on the field. The Tigers could bogey the next hole, so to speak, watch everybody else par or even birdie, and they’d still be in the lead. From my perspective, that’s Auburn right now as it sits at No. 1 in the Top 25 And 1 with a 12-1 record in Quadrant 1 while No. 2 Duke is just 5-2 in the same quadrant. Yes, Duke does own a victory (at home) over Auburn, and that’s an important data point. But that one data point isn’t enough to offset the dramatic advantage Auburn holds when it comes to evaluating both teams’ entire bodies of work, and it still won’t be on Monday regardless of what happens over the next four days.
Top 25 And 1 rankings
In a thrilling matchup between two top college basketball teams, Auburn managed to edge out Duke in a close game. The game was not only significant for the outcome, but also for the return of standout player Johni Broome, who has now re-entered the Player of the Year race.Broome, who had been sidelined with an injury for several weeks, made a triumphant return to the court and immediately made an impact with his dominant play. His presence on the court was felt throughout the game, as he showcased his scoring ability, rebounding prowess, and defensive skills. Broome’s performance has quickly reignited the conversation about who should be considered the frontrunner for Player of the Year, as he has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with.
The win for Auburn, coupled with Broome’s return, has undoubtedly shaken up the college basketball rankings. With the tournament right around the corner, teams are jockeying for position and looking to make a statement. Auburn’s victory over Duke and Broome’s standout performance have certainly turned heads and will be a storyline to watch as the season progresses. Stay tuned for more exciting college basketball action as the race for the Player of the Year heats up.

Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. returns in second half after suffering apparent ankle injury vs. Tennessee
UPDATE: Walter Clayton Jr. will attempt to give it a go in the second half, according to a UF spokesperson. The initial story is below:
The No. 5-ranked Florida Gators have been fortunate from an injury standpoint throughout the first 20 games of the 2024-25 regular season, yet UF’s luck took a turn for the worst in the first half of Saturday’s contest at Tennessee.
Facing an under-manned Volunteers team playing without standout guard Zakai Zeigler and forward Igor Milicic Jr., the Gators found themselves in a tight contest as the first half neared its conclusion, with leading scorer Walter Clayton Jr. accounting for 10 points to lead all scorers.
However, the senior guard had to be helped to the locker room after suffering an apparent ankle injury with 1:07 remaining in the first half. Clayton appeared to be in considerable pain as he was helped to Florida’s bench before departing for the locker room.
Having led by four midway through the first half, the Gators entered the locker room trailing to the Vols, 24-21.
Clayton, a Lake Wales native who spent his first two seasons of collegiate basketball at Iona, needs just two points to join UF’s 1,000-point club. A week ago, Will Richard’s game-winning shot with 4.8 seconds left in regulation at South Carolina gave him his 1,000th point as a Gator.
Ahead of UF’s contest at Tennessee, third-year Florida head coach Todd Golden discussed the potency of the Gators’ backcourt, saying their success was aided by the play of Florida’s frontcourt.
“Our bigs, they probably don’t get enough credit for how good we are offensively, because obviously Walter is such an efficient scorer, Alijah’s been so good for us and Will has really taken it up a notch, right? Those three, and Denzel (Aberdeen) obviously. I mean, he’s been great the majority of the year as well. And those guys have the ball in their hands a lot, they make a lot of plays and they deserve a lot of the credit. But I think we probably have the easiest frontcourt in America to play with, with the way we play, three out, two in, obviously having two big guys on the floor, it’s not easy to do and to be able to be smooth offensively the way we are, Condo (Alex Condon), Tommy (Haugh), Sam (Alexis), even Rueben (Chinyelu), they deserve a lot of credit for the way we move the ball, and kind of get to the second and third side offensively and what you obviously do a great job of recognizing and realizing is how effective our bigs are carving out space for our guards in the paint, in and around the rim and a lot of those two-point field goals,” Golden said. “Our guards shoot an incredible number from two, their two-point field goal percentage is just elite, I mean it’s just absurd and a big part of it is when they get in there and they’re finishing around the rim, our bigs are taking the rim pressure away, with their bodies and their physicality.”
In a thrilling game against Tennessee, Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. suffered an apparent ankle injury in the first half. However, to the relief of Gators fans, Clayton Jr. made a triumphant return in the second half to help lead his team to victory.Despite the injury scare, Clayton Jr. showed incredible resilience and determination as he fought through the pain to rejoin his teammates on the court. His presence was immediately felt as he made crucial plays and helped to solidify the Gators’ defense.
This display of toughness and leadership from Clayton Jr. not only inspired his teammates but also served as a reminder of his importance to the team. His return in the second half was a turning point in the game, and his performance was instrumental in securing the win for Florida.
As the Gators continue their season, Walter Clayton Jr.’s return from injury will undoubtedly be remembered as a defining moment of strength and perseverance. Gators fans can rest assured knowing that they have a player like Clayton Jr. who is willing to give his all for the team, no matter the circumstances.

Jasmine Jasudavicius | The Canadian Bulldog Returns
“I think it’s been a forever thing,” she said laughing when asked about her trademark tenacity and grit, which comes out more and more the deeper she progresses into fights. “I’m sure MMA has definitely harnessed it, but I remember my dad telling me a story where when I was a little baby, there was a radio with a nob on it, and I kept crawling to it, trying to turn it. My dad would pull me away, and I would crawl back to it, and he would pull me away.
“He said it was to the point where he had to move me to the other side of the room and I would still come at it.”
Her opponents must feel like that radio dial, especially Cachoeira and da Silva, who were both ultimately swept under by the tidal wave of pressure and non-stop aggressiveness Jasudavicius brought to them more and more as those fights progressed. It’s a feeling the Canadian truly cherishes, and an ability she’s deeply proud of, knowing that it stems from the hours of hard work she’s putting forth in the gym each and every day.

“I love it,” she said when asked about feeling her opponents melt under her relentless forward pursuit and offensive output. “It’s one of those things where it’s hard to do, and I have to do that in the room to be able to do that when the lights are on, when the eyes are on me. So it’s a very fulfilling thing where it’s like ‘all my hard work, this is why I do it’ — so that I’m able to get that finish in the later rounds, so I still have that steam in the later rounds, I have that squeeze.
“It feels like more of a job well done,” she continued, laughing, before adding, “You definitely feel a surge of energy because of it.”

Martha Stewart is making one thing crystal clear: at 83 years old, she’s still got it. The entrepreneur, television personality, and professional thirst trapper teamed up with M.A.C. Cosmetics for a sultry new social campaign—five years after she nearly broke the internet with a hot poolside selfie.
To promote the beauty brand’s lineup of nude lipsticks, liners, and eye palette, Stewart leans into the cheeky theme—and channels her alter ego, Thirst Trap Martha. Outfitted in a lacy silk robe, she seductively sucks on strawberries while testing (and, ahem, moaning over) the new products.
“[The photos are] charming and I think they’ll get some attention,” Stewart told People of the campaign. “I love what I look like in these pictures. They’re almost selfie-like. This fabulous nude color lipstick really makes the face. It’s a beautiful color.”
That they did. Fans sprinted to the comment section, naturally. “What’s going on here Martha ?…. Keep on girl Martha out to take your man ,” one user wrote, while another chimed in, “Thirst trap Martha is my favorite Martha .”
“I’m just trying to thirst trap at 83 like this because what?! *takes notes*” a third person added.
“The way I gasped at the honey scene” and “Does it get more iconic than this?! Legends only,” others wrote.
“It’s no good running around feeling unsure of oneself, or not believing that you can get a job done in the right way, so, I constantly try to get people to just step up, step up to the job and feel good, and be proud of the result,” Stewart said.
Following Stewart’s 2020 OG thirst trap (weren’t we all just looking for a little attention back then?), Stewart opened up about her shameless selfies, admitting, “I love those thirst traps.” She even shared some advice, which, yep we are gladly taking.
“Well, you have to feel that you look good,” she said. “Don’t question yourself. Just put on a little fresh makeup and you look at yourself in the mirror and say, ‘Oh, boy, I really look OK.’ Take the picture and make sure you have light on your face. I always have light directly on my face.”
In Martha (and her thirst traps) we trust.
