Bozoma Saint John wasn’t home when she learned her Malibu house was burned down by the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.

“How are you holding up?” Andy Cohen asked her on the Tuesday, January 21, episode of Watch What Happens Live. She replied, “Well, that’s kind of a hard question, you know. It’s a difficult time because there are so many people who have lost everything and it makes me wonder, you know, about just how we can be resilient and how you can continue to go on when things like this happen. And I’m trying my best.”

When asked if she had time to prepare for the fires, Saint John, 48, revealed she was outside of the U.S. when her house was impacted. “I was in Zambia and saw my house on Twitter, and that’s how I found out that it was gone,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared. “It was devastating and I felt so helpless.”

She added: “There was nothing I could do. You can’t send anybody to go get anything or anything. And so, I just tried to make my way back as quickly as possible.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer Bozoma Saint John was married to husband Peter Saint John for a decade before his 2013 death. “I’m widowed,” Bozoma told Dorit Kemsley during the RHOBH season 14 premiere in November 2024. The former Netflix CMO noted that she understood Dorit’s marriage situation because she and Peter had […]

Saint John owned her home for “about four years,” but noted that she worked 25 years to be able to afford it. “[I’m] in deep grief. I mean, I try not to compare grief to anybody else’s or anything like that, but the hard thing is that it was more than just a house,” she continued. “It was not just my home, but a home for my family and my friends. I had a keypad on the house, not a keyhole so that people could just put in a code and go in whenever they want. And so, we all lost a home.”

As for how her daughter, Lael, 15, is holding up, Saint John said her only child is doing “alright” and is finding “community” in friends who also lost their homes. (She shares Lael with her late husband, Peter, who died of cancer in 2013.)

Santa Ana winds have caused wildfires to spread across the L.A. region since January 7, destroying numerous homes, schools and businesses and forcing thousands to evacuate.

Saint John announced the loss of her Malibu residence via an emotional Instagram post on January 9. “This is the house I wanted. The house I prayed for. The house I worked in blood, sweat and tears for,” she wrote alongside photos of herself and her daughter in the house over the years, as well as footage of the wildfire damage. “The house that I put a keypad instead of a keyhole in the front door because I wanted all my family and friends to have a code and use the house whenever they wanted.”

Saint John said she found “peace” with the home “after battling with racist neighbors and a community that made me have to buy it in a trust within a trust so no one would know that widowed, single Black woman with a teenager was buying on the exclusively-held beach.” She added: “This was my EFF YOU I’m here house.”

  • RHOBH’s Jennifer Tilly Doesn’t Think She’s Rich Despite Simpsons Fortune

RHOBHs Jennifer Tilly Does Not Consider Herself Rich Im Delusional
    Phylicia J. L. Munn/Bravo

Jennifer Tilly is not hurting for money thanks to The Simpsons — but that doesn’t mean she identifies as wealthy.

“I don’t think of myself as rich,” Tilly, 66, told E! News on Tuesday, January 14. “But I guess I’m delusional because I do have several properties and a purse apparently that cost $33,000.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who joined the show for season 14, noted that she thought “everybody knew that I had a piece of The Simpsons,” which is where a lot of her money comes from.

“It’s not a large piece, but even a little piece is something to write home about,” she added.

During the December 3, 2024, episode of RHOBH, Tilly noted that she was married to The Simpsons creator, Sam Simon, for seven years. The pair, who were together 10 years total, got divorced in 1991 and she “got a piece” of the show in her settlement.

“Nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of years,” Tilly said on the show. “So every day, honestly, every day I’m like, ‘Thank you, Sam!’” (Simon died in 2015 at the age of 59.)

During the same episode, costar Erika Jayne pointed out that Tilly owned an extremely rare $33,000 Louis Vuitton handbag, which she said wasn’t exactly accurate.

“Actually, it didn’t. It cost $33,000, which I’m just setting that straight right now,” Tilly told E! “They must have had some intern look it up. It’s very rare, maybe on the secondary market they jacked up the price, but I called my purse contact, and I said, ‘How much did I pay for that purse?’ She said, ‘$22,000.’”

While the handbag price was slightly off, Tilly revealed that she does own four homes: three in California and one in Las Vegas.

Even with all her properties, Tilly was adamant that she lives humbly with her boyfriend in a “very small, cluttered house.”

“This is why people love Housewives,” she concluded. “They’re so rich and they can afford all the plastic surgeon that the heart could desire and designer clothes and jewels, but they’re still not happy. That is the key to Housewives. Like, ‘Wow, if I had all that wealth, I would be happy.’ But these people, they’re miserable. That’s why people like to watch Housewives.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

In a recent interview, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Jennifer Tilly revealed that she doesn’t consider herself to be rich, despite being a part of the iconic Simpsons fortune.

Tilly, who is best known for her role as Bonnie Swanson on the hit animated show The Simpsons, opened up about her financial situation in a candid conversation with a popular entertainment magazine. Despite her successful acting career and lucrative voiceover work, Tilly admitted that she still struggles to see herself as wealthy.

“I know I have been fortunate in my career, but I don’t think of myself as rich,” Tilly said. “I’ve always been very frugal and mindful of my spending. I prefer to live a simple and modest lifestyle, even though I could easily afford to live a more lavish one.”

Tilly’s humble attitude towards her wealth has earned her praise from fans and fellow celebrities alike. Many have commended her for remaining grounded and down-to-earth, despite her success in the entertainment industry.

  • RHOBH’s Jennifer Tilly Clarifies Her Wealth After Simpsons Divorce

    Phylicia J. L. Munn/Bravo

“The thing I was astonished by, people thought that that was fabulous,” the Chucky star recounted. “They were like, ‘She has a house next door to her house and she bought a $4,000 dress for her doll.’ They’re like ‘high five.’ I thought people would be like, ‘That’s horrible that she spent that much money for a dress for her doll when people are hungry.’ But I think the service that Housewives serves is people like to live vicariously through us.”

And despite showcasing her luxe lifestyle on TV, TIlly still believes “it’s kind of gauche to flaunt your wealth”—and money cannot buy you happiness.

“This is why people love Housewives,” she noted. “‘They’re so rich and they can afford all the plastic surgeon that the heart could desire and designer clothes and jewels, but they’re still not happy.’ That is the key to Housewives. Like, ‘Wow, if I had all that wealth, I would be happy.’ But these people, they’re miserable. That’s why people like to watch Housewives.”

As for the ultra-rare Louis Vuitton boat purse she flaunted earlier this season, Tilly clarified the designer bag’s true retail price.

Fans of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were left in shock after learning that newcomer Jennifer Tilly was going through a divorce from her husband, The Simpsons creator Sam Simon. With rumors swirling about the financial implications of the split, Tilly took to social media to clarify her wealth and set the record straight.

In a heartfelt post, Tilly explained that while she may have been married to a wealthy man, she has always had her own successful career as an actress and poker player. She made it clear that she is not solely reliant on Simon’s fortune and has built her own wealth through hard work and dedication.

Tilly went on to thank her fans for their support during this difficult time and expressed her gratitude for the opportunities that have come her way. She reminded everyone that wealth does not define a person’s worth and that she is focused on moving forward and creating a positive future for herself.

As the drama continues to unfold on RHOBH, it’s clear that Jennifer Tilly is a force to be reckoned with and will not let her divorce define her. Her strength and resilience are an inspiration to us all.
