Probable Formations: Udinese vs Roma
Over the last handful of matches, Claudio Ranieri has seemingly found his most consistent starting XI. The men Ranieri has been running out have gotten results in eight of nine matches. However, that all ended Thursday in Holland, as Roma fell 1-0 to Feyenoord in Europa League action. The loss puts Ranieri in an interesting position.
With Roma beginning to enter the busy part of its schedule and a crucial Europa League match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, Ranieri may need to make more changes on Sunday in Udine than he has in recent fixtures. But will the Tinkerman tinker give his key players some rest tomorrow ahead of Thursday, or will he stick with this group for another couple of matches?
After resting during their time in Holland, we should n expect to see Roma’s captain and vice-captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Gianluca Mancini, start tomorrow against Udinese. Mancini will slot in for Zeki Çelik, while Mats Hummels and Evan Ndicka are expected to retain their starting places in the back three. That group will, as always, play in front of Mile Svilar in goal.
With none of the other fullbacks on the roster enjoying Ranieri’s confidence and new signing Devyne Rensch having just arrived in Rome, it appears that Angeliño and Alexis Saelemaekers will again hold things down out wide. In the center of the park, Roma returns Bryan Cristante from a prolonged absence. But, the Italian is not expected to start. Instead, Niccoló Pisilli could spell Manu Koné alongside Leandro Paredes.
In the attack, Artem Dovbyk will continue to lead the line. However, the players supporting him might look a bit different in this match. Matías Soulé, who came off the bench on Thursday, could be a candidate to start, giving Paulo Dybala some rest ahead of the Frankfurt encounter. Meanwhile, Pellegrini seems to have a slight edge over Stephan El Shaarawy for the last starting spot.

© ImagoAfter getting back on track in Serie A and reaching the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, by virtue of a six-game unbeaten streak, Roma may have expected to claim maximum points in the Europa League on Thursday.
However, all hopes of qualifying for the knockout rounds now rest on the final matchday, following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar, who surpassed them in the table – adding to their despair, those rankings are still led by city rivals Lazio.
That setback brought stinging criticism from the Giallorossi’s interim head coach Claudio Ranieri, and it leaves them clinging on to a playoff place by just one point.
Ahead of next week’s league-phase finale, when they will host 2022 champions Eintracht Frankfurt, Ranieri’s men must try to win successive league matches for only the second time this season.
Beating Genoa 3-1 took them up to ninth place last weekend, but any dreams of qualifying for Europe via a top-seven finish surely rest on fixing their dismal away form.
Roma have gone 13 Serie A games without a win on their travels for the first time this century; incidentally, their last away success in the Italian top flight was last April’s 2-1 victory over Udinese.
Unbeaten in 10 of their last 12 trips to Udine, with eight wins during that period, the capital club will at least have history on their side this weekend.

Udinese are safely tucked inside the top half, despite Monday’s chastening 4-1 loss to Como, in which both teams had a player sent off at Stadio Sinigaglia.
Kosta Runjaic and co had headed for Lombardy on a four-match unbeaten streak, including a goalless draw with high-flying Atalanta BC, but they were ultimately dealt a first defeat of 2025.
Now occupying 10th place, the Friulani have taken only three points from their last four outings, so it appears that their mini mid-season revival may have come to a halt.
While Runjaic has his squad on course to avoid a survival struggle – such as the one they narrowly scraped through last season – he will be keen to stop a minor downturn becoming a major slump.

One of Roma’s regular front duo of Artem Dovbyk and Paulo Dybala could even be rested. Dybala has been directly involved in 21 goals in as many Serie A appearances against Udinese – that represents the most on record by one player against a single club.
Fellow forward Stephan El Shaarawy is a candidate for promotion from the bench, having notched six against the Friulani in Serie A. However, his last away league goal came back in May 2023.
Meanwhile, the hosts will be without Kingsley Ehizibue, Keinan Davis, Oier Zarraga and first-choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye through injury; Lautaro Giannetti remains doubtful due to muscular fatigue.
Kosta Runjaic must also replace recent signing Oumar Solet, who serves a suspension for being dismissed on Monday. Either Isaak Toure or Christian Kabasele should deputise in Udinese’s back three, which is led by Jaka Bijol.

Un giocatore che ci serviva e che cercavamo, che può darci una mano nella fase difensiva”. Ferito al collo da fendenti scagliati da altri due studenti, che sarebbero stati identificati dalla polizia. Il 17enne, di origine filippina, è stato trasportato in codice rosso al San Camillo. Lo scontro fra due comitive
Una lite fuori da scuola, una spedizione punitiva che si trasforma in un tentato omicidio in piazza Testaccio. La vittima, di 17 anni, di famiglia filippina, è ricoverata in codice rosso all’ospedale San Camillo con una ferita alla gola provocata da una coltellata che gli è stata sferrata da un altro studente, sembra di nazionalità egiziana, spalleggiato da un complice che al momento, secondo gli accertamenti della polizia, sarebbe invece tunisino. I due sarebbero stati identificati dagli agenti intervenuti alle 14.30 all’altezza del civico 8, di fronte a una farmacia.
Ferita al collo, non sarebbe in pericolo di vita
Il minorenne accoltellato perdeva sangue dal collo ed è stato soccorso inizialmente da alcuni passanti. Sembra comunque che non sia in pericolo di vita anche se i medici del San Camillo hanno comunque deciso di trattenerlo in terapia intensiva per monitorarlo. La prognosi è riservata. I familiari sono accorsi al suo capezzale. Se le condizioni del minorenne lo consentiranno nei prossimi giorni, e con l’ok dei medici, il 17enne potrebbe essere sentito dai poliziotti.
Caccia a un «branco»
Sulla vicenda c’è il massimo riserbo da parte degli investigatori della Questura che stanno svolgendo accertamenti per ricostruire l’accaduto. I due aggressori del minorenne sarebbero stati identificati ma del gruppo che ha circondato la vittima farebbero parte anche altri 5-6 giovani che dopo il ferimento si sono dati alla fuga nelle strada del rione. Vengono ricercati anche con l’aiuto delle telecamere di sicurezza di Testaccio: i video potrebbero a breve essere acquisiti da chi indaga per fare luce sul ferimento del 17enne. Da capire se si sia trattato di una vendetta, come sembra, per un precedente screzio con il feritore, oppure se ci siano altre motivazioni collegate proprio alla scuola, e anche se quest’ultima sia frequentata da tutti i giovani coinvolti. Fra le ipotesi secondo alcune testimonianze quella di una spallata che la vittima avrebbe dato a ricreazione a un altro giovane studente che avrebbe poi avvisato il nordafricano all’esterno dell’edificio per dargli una lezione all’uscita.
L’ipotesi della rissa fra due comitive di giovani
Fra gli accertamenti in corso anche quelli per capire se il tentato omicidio dello studente filippino sia avvenuto nell’ambito di una zuffa fra due comitive di giovani che si potrebbero essere incrociate nei giardini di piazza Testaccio. Fra i componenti delle due fazioni potrebbe essere scoppiato un litigio poi degenerato quando uno dei contendenti ha estratto il coltello. Chi indaga sta anche cercando la lama usata per colpire il 17enne. Non si esclude al momento che ci potessero essere anche altre armi da taglio.
Un terribile episodio si è verificato ieri a Roma, dove un ragazzo di soli 17 anni è stato accoltellato in piazza a Testaccio davanti alla scuola. Il giovane è stato attaccato dopo una banale spallata, finendo in terapia intensiva all’ospedale San Camillo.La notizia ha scosso la comunità locale, che si è unita in solidarietà alla famiglia del ragazzo. Le autorità stanno indagando sull’accaduto per trovare i responsabili di questo vile gesto e assicurarli alla giustizia.
Mentre il ragazzo lotta per la vita, è importante riflettere su come la violenza possa colpire chiunque, in qualsiasi momento e in qualsiasi luogo. È necessario sensibilizzare e educare alla non violenza, affinché episodi come questo non si ripetano mai più.

La lite a scuola e, poco dopo, l’aggressione in strada impugnando un coltello. Uno studente di 17 anni di origini filippine è stato ferito al collo nel primo pomeriggio in piazza Testaccio, a Roma.
Stava ritornando a casa, intorno alle 14, quando è stato raggiunto da una coltellata. E’ stato soccorso dal personale del 118 e trasportato d’urgenza, in codice rosso in ambulanza, all’ospedale San Camillo dov’è ricoverato in gravi condizioni.
Il ragazzo, che compirà 18 anni tra pochi mesi, si trova ora in terapia intensiva e la sua prognosi è al momento riservata. I medici sarebbero comunque fiduciosi e non appare in pericolo di vita. All’ospedale San Camillo sono accorsi anche i genitori quando hanno saputo quello che gli era successo.
Sul luogo dell’aggressione è intervenuta la polizia che indaga ora per far luce sulla dinamica e stabilire le responsabilità.
Da una primissima ricostruzione, sembra che tutto sia nato da un diverbio a scuola con un altro ragazzo, di origini egiziane, che avrebbe poi chiamato anche un suo amico per avere ‘rinforzi’.
Resta da stabilire quanti siano coinvolti nell’aggressione e il ruolo di ognuno. Sembrerebbe che a colpirlo sia stato proprio il ragazzino con cui aveva litigato poco prima a scuola. Restano da accertare i motivi della discussione passata poi alle vie di fatto. Gli investigatori stanno cercando di ricostruire con esattezza quello che è accaduto. Per questo analizzeranno le immagini delle telecamere che potrebbero aver immortalato gli istanti in cui i ragazzi si sono incrociati e quelli in cui la vittima è stata ferita. Verranno sentiti testimoni per capire se si sia trattato di una lite a due o se, invece, siano intervenuti altri coetanei. E si cerca anche la lama con cui il diciassettenne è stato colpito.
Nelle prossime ore, appena le sue condizioni lo consentiranno, il ragazzino potrebbe essere sentito dalla polizia per ricostruire la natura della lite e le fasi dell’accoltellamento.

Salvini dice “sì a più forze dell’ordine, più formazione scolastica e più opportunità per i giovani – come stiamo facendo – ma a casa di questi ragazzi non ci sono dei genitori? Possibile che queste mamme e questi papà non si accorgano di niente?” si chiede il vicepremier.

Un 17enne studente è stato accoltellato a Roma dopo una lite avvenuta a scuola. L’aggressione è avvenuta nei pressi dell’istituto scolastico e il giovane è stato trasportato d’urgenza in ospedale.Le autorità stanno indagando sull’accaduto e cercando di identificare il responsabile dell’aggressione. Al momento non sono chiare le cause che hanno portato alla lite e all’attacco.
La comunità scolastica e i genitori degli studenti sono in stato di shock per quanto accaduto e chiedono maggiore sicurezza e vigilanza all’interno e nei dintorni delle scuole.
Ci auguriamo che il ragazzo possa riprendersi presto e che venga fatta luce sull’accaduto per garantire giustizia e sicurezza a tutti gli studenti.

‘Everything is possible’ – Ranieri does not deny that Pellegrini could depart Roma
