  • Ryan Gosling’s 82% Rotten Tomatoes Action Flick Is Leaping Onto a New Streaming Platform for the New Year

Ryan Gosling’s 82% Rotten Tomatoes Action Flick Is Leaping Onto a New Streaming Platform for the New Year

Prime Video is about to kick off 2025 with a bang by bringing one of the most action-packed films of the year to its catalog. The Fall Guy, the latest film from Bullet Train director David Leitch, debuts on Amazon’s streaming platform on January 1, complete with plenty of stunts, romance, and Ryan Gosling for subscribers to enjoy. The film takes inspiration from the 1980s action-adventure series starring Lee Majors and places Gosling in the role of retired stuntman Colt Seavers opposite Emily Blunt as his ex-girlfriend Jody Moreno. After a serious injury derailed his career, he’s called back in for a job on Jody’s directorial debut featuring a big-name action star, played by Aaron Taylor Johnson.

Billed as a love letter to stunt people and the underappreciated workers behind the scenes of big productions, The Fall Guy quickly evolves into an action-packed mystery thriller as the film’s star, Tom Ryder, goes missing. Although he’s only used his skills on-set, Colt is tasked with tracking Tom down, retracing his steps, and charging headlong into danger to find answers and save the production. As he investigates, he finds himself trapped in a sinister conspiracy that could lead to his own downfall. It all culminates in a desperate fight to save himself, the movie, and his love before it’s too late.

Leitch directed his latest feature from a screenplay penned by Drew Pearce, who has also served as a co-writer on other action-heavy affairs like Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Iron Man 3. Like Bullet Train, the film had no shortage of star power for them to work with. Fresh off an Oscar nomination for Barbie, Gosling led a cast that also featured the talents of Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, Winston Duke, and Ben Knight, among others. Their combined efforts resulted in a project that was widely praised with an 82% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an 85% from audiences.

‘The Fall Guy’ Has Defied the Odds on Streaming

Rave reviews couldn’t save The Fall Guy at the box office, however. The film fell flat with only $181.1 million made worldwide against a budget in the range of $125-150 million. Despite such a disappointing showing in theaters for Universal, it has since become a favorite on streaming. Upon its debut on Peacock at the end of August, it became the second most-watched film over Labor Day weekend and became the most-watched premiere on the service since Oppenheimer. Word of mouth has helped it become a favorite for viewers at home, offering a bit of redemption for a film that even had Steven Spielberg enamored during its creation.

The Fall Guy arrives on Prime Video on January 1. Stay tuned here at Collider for future updates on the biggest films coming to and leaving streaming.

  • Sylvester Stallone Teases the Fate of ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 After 100% Rotten Tomatoes Season 2

Sylvester Stallone Teases the Fate of ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 After 100% Rotten Tomatoes Season 2

Few Hollywood creatives have had a more productive year than Taylor Sheridan, who has released new seasons of Yellowstone, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, and Landman. That’s not all Sheridan has had his hand in this year; the Yellowstone and Sicario writer also dropped a new season of Tulsa King, the gritty crime thriller series starring Sylvester Stallone. Tulsa King Season 2 earned a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes while also scoring a 79% rating from general audiences, but the show had still not been officially renewed despite dominating Paramount+ charts for months. It appears the questions of Tulsa King Season 3 have been answered, as Stallone took to his personal Instagram to share a picture of the script and announce that the next season of Tulsa King is moving forward.

This news has not yet been confirmed by Sheridan nor anyone at Paramount, but it’s highly unlikely that Stallone would post something like this, which has now been up on his account for several days, if he wasn’t certain the show was getting another season. Paramount has never been quick to renew even its most popular shows; Mayor of Kingstown wasn’t renewed for Season 4 until several months after the Season 3 finale, and Landman still has not been renewed despite producing record numbers for Paramount. Nonetheless, Tulsa King fans finally have some news to get excited about, and while it may be a while before the third season of the hit series returns to Paramount+ with all the other projects Sheridan is working on, it’s still the first concrete update the show has gotten in quite some time.

What Else Has Sylvester Stallone Been in Lately?

Stallone also recently led Armor, the action thriller from director Justin Routt that scored a dismal 0% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes as well as a 33% score from general audiences, making it one of the lowest-rated movies ever. Last year he also reprised his role as Barney in The Expendables 4, the action sequel starring Jason Statham that has found major streaming success lately. He also ventured back to the world of Marvel in 2023 to briefly reprise his role as Stakar Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Tulsa King Season 3 is officially moving forward, according to Sylvester Stallone. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the show and watch the first two seasons of Tulsa King on Paramount+.

Sylvester Stallone Teases the Fate of ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 After 100% Rotten Tomatoes Season 2

After a successful second season of ‘Tulsa King’ that garnered a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, fans are eagerly awaiting news of a potential third season. And it seems that star Sylvester Stallone is just as excited about the possibility.

In a recent interview, Stallone teased the fate of ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3, hinting at even more drama, action, and intrigue to come. He expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming positive response to the show’s second season and hinted that there may be some unexpected twists and turns in store for the characters.

While Stallone didn’t give away too many details about what fans can expect in Season 3, he did promise that it would be worth the wait. With the success of the first two seasons, it’s clear that ‘Tulsa King’ has struck a chord with audiences and is poised to continue delivering thrilling entertainment.

So, stay tuned for more updates on the fate of ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3, as Sylvester Stallone and the rest of the cast and crew work hard to bring fans another unforgettable season.

  • Jim Carrey Officially Has His Career Best Rotten Tomatoes Streak Thanks To Sonic The Hedgehog

Jim Carrey Officially Has His Career Best Rotten Tomatoes Streak Thanks To Sonic The Hedgehog

The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has given Jim Carrey the best Rotten Tomatoes streak of his entire career. Though Jim Carrey is most known for his 1900s hits, which include Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, Liar Liar, and The Truman Show, his practice stood strong as far as the late-2000s before hitting a rough patch of roles that lasted over 10 years. With Dr. Robotnik, the actor returned to his signature physical and cartoonish comedy, proving he’s still got that charm and talent that won people’s hearts so long ago.

The actor’s commitment to the franchise has been made evident time and time again, as Jim Carrey has repeatedly broken career rules for Sonic the Hedgehog so that he can come back to reprise his now iconic role. Considered one of the movies that defined Jim Carrey’s career, Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequels continue to be the gift that keeps on giving. They have eased the actor’s return to his love of his craft, allowed him to captivate old and new audiences, and positioned him for the longest best Rotten Tomatoes streak of his career.

Sonic The Hedgehog Has Given Jim Carrey The Longest Fresh Streak On Rotten Tomatoes Of His Career

Jim Carrey Has Gone Five Years Without A Rotten Movie

Even if almost every Jim Carrey movie was an instant classic, they’re not known for having the best Rotten Tomatoes scores. Surprisingly, beloved films like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Bruce Almighty, and Fun With Dick and Jane actually have pretty low reviews. Considering Carrey’s filmography features a lot of irreverent and child-like humor, it makes sense that critics struggle to take it seriously despite its proven ability to enthrall audiences worldwide and produce box office successes.

On the other hand, the actor’s acclaimed performances in projects like Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Man on the Moon didn’t necessarily earn a lot on their theatrical release. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, however, achieved something only a few of Carrey’s movies have done, and it did so in record time. The popular movies have done great at the box office and with critics — with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 earning the highest Rotten Tomatoes score, and giving its actor five straight years without a Rotten movie, something Carrey had never achieved before.

Jim Carrey’s Rotten Tomatoes Streak Is More Significant If He Does Retire

Jim Carrey’s Career Would End On Its Highest Note

Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik holding out his fist in a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 promotional image

Jim Carrey’s late-career success with Sonic the Hedgehog could have to do with the fact that the actor had never been a part of a genre franchise before. Notably, the actor had previously shown himself adamant about doing sequels and had even announced his retirement in 2022, after the second installment, telling Access Hollywood that he would only return “If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see” (via Variety).
