  • MLB rumors: Dodgers sign reliever Kirby Yates, Mets’ standoff with Pete Alonso could keep dragging

In only two weeks, spring training camps will open across Arizona and Florida. There are still plenty of free agents waiting to sign and trade candidates waiting to move. There will be no shortage of activity between now and the start of camp. Here now are Tuesday’s hot stove happenings.

The reigning-champion Los Angeles Dodgers have signed right-handed reliever Kirby Yates to a one-year contact worth $13 million, ESPN reports. The deal also includes an additional $1 million in incentives.

CBS Sports ranked Yates as the 36th-best free agent on the market entering the winter. Here’s what we wrote at the time:

We figure that Yates’ market will be limited by his durability and his command. He’s thrown 60 innings in consecutive seasons, but he had previously missed most of three seasons because of injury woes. Additionally, he’s walked nearly five batters per nine over the last two years. Mind you, Yates has succeeded despite the free passes by excelling at managing contact — both in terms of quality and frequency. He has a two-pitch approach: 93 mph fastballs up and to the glove side, and trapdoor splitters low. Each pitch generated a whiff rate over 30% and a batting average against under .115 in 2024. It’s possible that Yates’ body breaks down again, or that he loses just enough stuff to render him less effective. That risk, however, ought to limit his market to short-term deals that could make him one of the best relief bargains of the winter.

Yates, 37, posted a 1.17 ERA (340 ERA+) in 61 innings last season with the Rangers. If a deal is reached, he’ll join a bullpen that’ll include Blake Treinen, recent signee Tanner Scott, and Michael Kopech, among others.

Astros still having internal conversations about Bregman

During the Ryan Pressly trade conference call Tuesday, Astros GM Dana Brown acknowledged the team has talked internally about a reunion with Alex Bregman, though he added he has not yet reached out to agent Scott Boras. Here’s what Brown said Tuesday (via SportsRadio 610):

“We’ve talked internally about (Bregman) still being available. So we are definitely having conversations within our front office. We haven’t reached back out to Boras. I know that we are taking a deep look at what it would look like if we acquired him — how it would look for us financially, does it make sense to do it? We know he’s a talented player. I’d mostly say all internal conversations as to what we would like to do in terms of Bregman.”

Houston cleared $8.5 million in payroll space with the Pressly trade, though they also created a late-inning void in the bullpen. Also, re-signing Bregman would likely push Isaac Paredes to second base and Jose Altuve to left field, potentially compromising the defense. It’s doable, for sure, though the roster fit would be a bit messy. Bregman is reported to have multiple other offers in hand.

Mets, Alonso standoff may last into spring training

A potential reunion between the Mets and Pete Alonso may not happen until after spring training begins, if it happens at all, according to SNY. Alonso reportedly rejected a three-year deal with opt outs in the $68 million to $70 million range from his longtime team earlier this month. Mets owner Steve Cohen called it an “exhausting conversation and negotiation” this past weekend.

The Blue Jays are the only other team known to be in on Alonso at the moment. Toronto recently signed Anthony Santander to a five-year, $92.5 million contract that included over $60 million in deferrals. The deferrals could make it easier to fit Alonso into the budget, though he would likely have to accept a similar contract structure. Either way, there is still no end in sight for Alonso’s free agency.

Angels have multiple bullpen spots to fill

According to The Athletic, the Angels have told at least one player representative they still have multiple bullpen spots to fill. The only locks for the Halos’ bullpen is hard-throwing righty Ben Joyce and lefty José Quijada. Righties Hans Crouse and Ryan Zeferjahn likely have a leg up on Opening Day roster spots after strong showings in 2025. The rest of the bullpen is wide open.

Three relievers rank among our unsigned top 50 free agents: Carlos Estévez, Kenley Jansen, and David Robertson. Estévez spent 2023 and half of 2024 with the Angels before being traded away the deadline. Non-top-50 free agents like Scott Alexander, Andrew Chafin, John Brebbia, Kyle Finnegan, Tommy Kahnle, Phil Maton, and Ryne Stanek could appeal to the Angels.

Reds add Hays to outfield mix

The Reds have signed outfielder Austin Hays to a one-year contract worth $5 million, according to The Athletic. He can earn an additional $1 million through incentives. Hays, 29, is the third position player Cincinnati has added this offseason, joining utility man Gavin Lux and backup catcher Jose Trevino. Last season Hays authored a .255/.303/.396 line with the Orioles and Phillies. He also dealt with a serious kidney issue. The Hays signing likely pushes Will Benson, who struggled badly in 2024 after a terrific rookie season in 2023, down to Triple-A.

    Pirates bring back Frazier

Veteran utility man Adam Frazier is returning to the Pirates on a one-year contract worth $1.525 million, reports MLB.com. Frazier began his career with Pittsburgh in 2016 and remained with the team until being traded away at the 2021 deadline. Now 33, he is coming off a .202/.282/.294 slash line with the Royals in 2024. Frazier played every position except catcher, shortstop, and center field last season. He figures to fill a similar utility role in his second stint with the Pirates. Frazier did not rank among our top 50 free agents.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly signed free agent reliever Kirby Yates to bolster their bullpen for the upcoming season. Yates, who last played for the Toronto Blue Jays, is expected to bring a veteran presence and strong pitching skills to the team.

In other MLB news, the New York Mets are still in a standoff with first baseman Pete Alonso over his contract extension. Despite months of negotiations, the two sides have yet to come to an agreement, leading to speculation that the situation could continue to drag on.

Stay tuned for more updates on these MLB rumors and more as the offseason progresses.

  • De’Aaron Fox Rumors: ‘Serious Skepticism’ Spurs Would Trade Stephon Castle to Kings | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

There is “serious skepticism” that the San Antonio Spurs would be willing to include rookie guard Stephon Castle in any deal involving Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox.

“The Kings are known to covet the Spurs rookie guard who was taken fourth overall out of Connecticut in the NBA Draft last June, but there is serious skepticism in league circles that San Antonio will be willing to include him,” Amick wrote.

“If that’s ultimately the case, the Kings would have to determine whether there’s an acceptable pathway to doing the deal without him. That’s not the end of San Antonio’s considerations, either.”

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday that the Kings were “expected to open up talks to potentially deal” Fox prior to the Feb. 6 trade deadline. He also said Fox has a “target destination” in mind.

James Ham of ESPN 1320 reported that Fox’s preferred landing spot is the Spurs, and Amick noted that Fox’s preferred destination is “widely believed” to be San Antonio as well.

Amick also reported that “De’Aaron Fox’s agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, recently sent word that it would be wise for the Kings to move him now.”

If that’s the case, then the Spurs could have some leverage here in negotiations, especially with the deadline approaching in a week.

San Antonio certainly wouldn’t want to part with Castle, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft.

The ex-UConn star, who won a national championship in his lone year at school, has broken out recently with 18.0 points per game on 48 percent shooting over his last seven contests.

Of course, Fox is a star that San Antonio should pursue, especially given his reported interest in the team. He could be a game-changer for a team on the rise and form a great partnership with superstar Victor Wembyanama. He’s averaging 25.1 points, 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game this season and squarely in his prime at 27 years of age.

For now, Fox remains a King, but that could change within a week. It’s pretty clear, though, that Castle should be staying in San Antonio, which is a wise move for the Spurs given his potential.

The latest buzz in the NBA world is swirling around Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox, with rumors indicating that the San Antonio Spurs may be interested in acquiring him. According to sources close to the situation, there is “serious skepticism” that the Spurs would be willing to part ways with promising rookie Stephon Castle in exchange for Fox.

Fox, who has established himself as one of the most dynamic young guards in the league, would undoubtedly be a significant addition to the Spurs’ roster. His speed, playmaking ability, and scoring prowess would provide a major boost to a team looking to return to championship contention.

On the other hand, Castle has shown flashes of brilliance in his rookie season, displaying a smooth shooting stroke and impressive defensive instincts. The Spurs have high hopes for the young guard and may be reluctant to part ways with him in a potential trade for Fox.

As the NBA trade deadline approaches, it will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds. Will the Spurs ultimately decide to pull the trigger on a deal for Fox, or will they choose to hold onto Castle and explore other options? Stay tuned for the latest updates on this developing story.

  • De’Aaron Fox trade rumors: Kings star admits he has preferred landing spot if moved before deadline

The Sacramento Kings are reportedly considering trades for De’Aaron Fox. But according to the star himself, that isn’t because he has directly requested a trade.

“That’s their decision to make. I can’t tell them not to listen to offers or I can’t tell them to listen to offers,” Fox said Wednesday before the Kings’ game in Philadelphia, according to The Sacramento Bee.

Sacramento’s motivation does not appear to be rooted in a specific directive from Fox. Rather, the Kings are considering a move because of Fox’s reluctance to sign a long-term contract extension. He turned down an extension with the Kings over the summer, and with his 2026 free agency growing closer by the day, his exit is growing likelier ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline.

Fox, by all accounts, is focused on competing for championships. To that effect, he reportedly has a favored destination in mind: the San Antonio Spurs. There, he would partner up with ascending center Victor Wembanyama to create one of the best young duos in the Western Conference.

While Fox wouldn’t confirm that he is eyeing the Spurs, he did acknowledge that he has a preference in mind if he were to move.

“For sure, I think everybody has a preferred destination,” Fox said. “I think everybody has a preferred destination if they’re not in the place that — or if they’re not going to be in the place where they are in the moment. I think it’s natural.”

De’Aaron Fox landing spots: Spurs are the favorites, but Rockets, Heat among teams that also make sense

De'Aaron Fox landing spots: Spurs are the favorites, but Rockets, Heat among teams that also make sense

While the Kings control the situation for now, Fox has an uncommon degree of leverage as this situation plays out. The Spurs, barring something unforeseen, will have max cap space in the summer of 2026, so Fox will have the power to walk to San Antonio as a free agent if he so chooses. That is going to limit what other teams are willing to offer, as the possibility of losing Fox for nothing restricts his value. If the rest of the league views him as a rental, the Kings will have no choice but to deal with San Antonio at a price the Spurs dictate.

Still, it is rare for any trade request to come and go smoothly. Damian Lillard more or less told the league not to trade for him because he wanted to go to Miami. He wound up in Milwaukee. Jimmy Butler is doing everything in his power to get to Phoenix right now. The Suns have thus far been unable to complete a deal.

These sagas are complicated and messy. Fox may want to go to San Antonio, but until a deal is reached, other suitors have a chance to steal him away.

In recent weeks, trade rumors surrounding Sacramento Kings’ star point guard De’Aaron Fox have been swirling. And now, Fox himself has admitted that he has a preferred landing spot if he were to be moved before the trade deadline.

According to sources close to Fox, the 24-year-old has expressed interest in joining the New York Knicks. The Knicks have been in need of a dynamic point guard for quite some time, and Fox could be the missing piece to their puzzle.

While the Kings have not publicly stated that they are looking to move Fox, the team’s struggles this season have sparked speculation that they could be open to making changes. Fox, who is averaging 20.6 points and 6.8 assists per game this season, would undoubtedly garner significant interest from teams around the league.

It remains to be seen if the Kings will entertain offers for Fox, or if he will ultimately end up in New York or another team that catches his eye. But one thing is for certain – the trade deadline is shaping up to be an interesting one for De’Aaron Fox and the Kings.

  • MLB rumors: Possible favorite for Max Scherzer emerges, Mets already back in contact with Pete Alonso

Major League Baseball is only a few weeks away from seeing camps open across Florida and Arizona in preparation for the exhibition season. This, then, is the opportune time for teams to add the finishing touches to their rosters as they prepare for the year ahead. With that in mind, CBS Sports has gathered all of Wednesday’s most notable news, moves, and rumors in one convenient spot for your consuming pleasure.

    Blue Jays favored on Scherzer

The Blue Jays “appear to be the most serious about signing” veteran right-hander Max Scherzer, according to MLB.com.

Scherzer, 40, was limited to just nine starts last season because of physical issues. He amassed a 3.95 ERA (101 ERA+) and a 4.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio in those appearances. CBS Sports ranked him as the 12th-best free agent entering this winter, anticipating that he would sign a one-year deal with a high AAV:

Scherzer was restricted by injury to nine starts this season; none before June, and just one after August. Add in his limited availability down the stretch in 2023, and it seems fair to think that the wheels are starting to come unglued for the 40-year-old. Still, Scherzer has expressed his desire to pitch in 2025. Who are we to scoff at the idea? Besides, he performed well when he was able to, leaving us no doubt that a team will gladly sign him to a one-year pact — if only to ensure they’re mentioned some day down the road, when he’s giving his induction speech in Cooperstown.

The Blue Jays have added Anthony Santander, Andrés Giménez, Jeff Hoffman, and Myles Straw, among others, to their projected roster this winter.

    Mets resume Alonso talks

Over the weekend, Mets owner Steve Cohen fussed about how “exhausting” the negotiations with longtime first baseman and free agent Pete Alonso had become. Just days later, Cohen is again in touch with Alonso and agent Scott Boras, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

It’s unclear if the odds of the Mets bringing back Alonso have improved, declined, or remained the same since Cohen went public with his frustrations.

“I don’t like the structures that are being presented back to us,” Cohen said at the team’s fan fest event. “I think it’s highly asymmetric against us. I feel strongly about it. I will never say ‘no,’ there’s always a possibility but the reality is we’re moving forward as we continue to bring in players, it’s hard to bring Pete into what is a very expensive group of players that we already have. That’s where we are. I’m being brutally honest.”

Cohen divulged that the Mets had made Alonso a “significant” offer. Media reports from earlier this month indicated New York had put forth a three-year pact worth around $70 million, or a slightly sweeter version of the three-year, $60 million deal that Christian Walker signed with the Astros.

The Mets have already asked young infielders Mark Vientos and Brett Baty to prepare to play first base during spring training. Of course, it’s not unusual for teams to request such things of their players regardless of their intentions elsewhere — at minimum, it would improve their optionality in case of injury or underperformance.

    Mets ink Stanek

Speaking of the Mets and reunions, they have reached an agreement to bring back a different member of their 2024 roster: reliever Ryne Stanek. Per MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo, Stanek will rejoin the Mets on a one-year deal. He’s expected to make $4.5 million with a chance to earn an additional $500,000 in incentives, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

Stanek, 33, is an eight-year veteran who posted a 6.06 ERA (66 ERA+) in 16 ⅓ regular-season innings with the Mets. The playoffs went much better, allowing three earned runs over eight innings. For his career, he’s amassed a 114 ERA+ in more than 400 big-league appearances.

The Tigers have signed free-agent reliever Tommy Kahnle, the team announced Wednesday. The one-year deal will net him $7.75 million, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. Kahnle, 35, spent last season with the Yankees. He compiled a 2.11 ERA (196 ERA+) and a 2.42 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 42 innings. He figures to be used in a middle relief or setup role for Detroit.

    Reds bring in Rogers

The Reds have acquired lefty reliever Taylor Rogers from the Giants in exchange for Double-A reliever Braxton Roxby, the teams announced Wednesday. San Francisco will pay $6 million of Rogers’ $12 million salary in 2025, according to MLB.com. Rogers, 34, had a 2.40 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 60 innings last year, albeit with underwhelming peripherals. The Giants put him on waivers last year and any team could have claimed Rogers and his salary, but they all passed. Roxby, 25, had a 5.21 ERA in 2024.

In the latest MLB rumors, a possible favorite for star pitcher Max Scherzer has emerged, and the New York Mets are already back in contact with slugger Pete Alonso.

According to reports, the Los Angeles Dodgers are seen as a potential front-runner to sign Scherzer in free agency. The Dodgers have a history of making big moves and have the financial flexibility to offer Scherzer a lucrative contract. However, other teams such as the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants are also said to be interested in the veteran right-hander.

Meanwhile, the Mets have wasted no time in reaching out to Alonso after the lockout ended. The team is reportedly looking to engage in contract extension talks with the All-Star first baseman, who has quickly become a fan favorite in New York. Alonso has expressed his desire to remain with the Mets long-term, and negotiations are expected to begin in the coming weeks.

As the offseason heats up, it will be interesting to see where Scherzer ultimately lands and if Alonso and the Mets can come to an agreement on a contract extension. Stay tuned for more updates on these developing MLB rumors.

As the MLB offseason heats up, rumors are swirling about potential landing spots for top free agents like Max Scherzer. One team that has emerged as a possible favorite for the star pitcher is the New York Mets.

According to sources, the Mets are already back in contact with first baseman Pete Alonso, who has been a key player for the team in recent years. Alonso’s presence in the lineup could be a major factor in attracting Scherzer to New York.

Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, is coming off a strong season with the Washington Nationals and is expected to command a hefty contract in free agency. The Mets have the financial resources to make a competitive offer and could be a strong contender for his services.

While nothing is set in stone, the Mets’ interest in Scherzer is certainly intriguing and could make them a team to watch as the offseason progresses. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

University of Illinois head football coach Bret Bielema took a shot at former University of Michigan and current Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh on social media Wednesday.

Replying to a video on X that featured Harbaugh saying, “If you cheat to win, then you’ve already lost,” during his time as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Bielema threw some shade at Harbaugh regarding how his tenure at Michigan ended:

During Harbaugh’s final season at Michigan in 2023, analyst Connor Stalions resigned from his role with the team amid an NCAA investigation into allegations that he was the leader of an illegal sign-stealing operation.

The Wolverines went a perfect 15-0 and won the national championship in 2023, but Harbaugh left his alma mater at the end of the season to take the Chargers’ head coaching job.

During the 2023 campaign, Harbaugh had to serve a pair of suspensions due to NCAA violations.

The first suspension was a self-imposed, three-game ban as a result of recruiting violations, and then he served another three-game suspension later in the season as punishment for the sign-stealing scandal.

Sherrone Moore, who is now the head coach at Michigan, won all six games as the interim head coach while Harbaugh was out, and Harbaugh was allowed to return for the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff.

Back in August, after Harbaugh had already left for the NFL, the NCAA provided Michigan with a formal Notice of Allegations related to the sign-stealing investigation.

Several current and former members of the Michigan football program, including Harbaugh, were accused of committing Level I violations.

On Tuesday, Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reported that Michigan intends to fight the NCAA on the allegations, with the university stating that the NCAA is “grossly overreaching” and “wildly overcharging” the program.

In his first season back in the NFL, Harbaugh led the Chargers to an 11-6 record and a playoff berth, marking the fourth time in his five seasons as an NFL head coach that he secured a playoff berth.

As for Michigan, the Wolverines took a big step back from 2023 to 2024, finishing 8-5. However, Michigan did beat rival and eventual national championship-winning Ohio State for a fourth consecutive year.

Bielema, who coached Wisconsin in the Big Ten from 2006 to 2012, returned to the conference with Illinois in 2021 after a five-year run at Arkansas.

He led the Fighting Illini to a 10-3 mark in 2024, which was their best record since 2001 when they went 10-2.

Included in those 10 wins was a 21-7 home triumph over a Michigan team that was the No. 24-ranked squad in the nation at the time of the game.

Illinois HC Bret Bielema Throws Shade at Jim Harbaugh After Old Video on Cheating Resurfaces

Illinois head coach Bret Bielema is not holding back when it comes to calling out Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. A recently resurfaced video from years ago shows Harbaugh discussing ways to bend the rules in recruiting, and Bielema wasted no time in taking a jab at his rival.

In the video, Harbaugh can be heard joking about finding loopholes in the NCAA rules to gain an advantage in recruiting. Bielema, who has a history of clashing with Harbaugh on and off the field, didn’t hesitate to call out the hypocrisy.

“It’s always interesting to see someone who claims to be a paragon of virtue and integrity get caught with their hand in the cookie jar,” Bielema said in a recent press conference. “I guess the old saying holds true, cheaters never prosper.”

The comments from Bielema have sparked a heated debate among fans and analysts, with many wondering if there will be any repercussions for Harbaugh and the Michigan program. As the college football world waits to see how this drama unfolds, one thing is for sure: the rivalry between Illinois and Michigan just got a whole lot more intense. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

    TRENDING RUMORS

Chelsea are set to make an offer to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to L’Equipe. Garnacho, 20, has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim and is also of interest to Napoli as they seek a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG for €60m. United are looking to raise funds, and Marcus Rashford could also depart, but want a fee of €95m to let Garnacho go. However, a swap deal involving Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku could reduce the total amount for all concerned and United are keen to bring him in.

    – It’s Deadline Day in the Women’s Super League (WSL) and Chelsea are eager to complete the signing of Barcelona midfielder Keira Walsh, sources have told ESPN. Walsh’s contract is up at the end of the season and Arsenal were heavily linked with her last summer. However, sources have told ESPN that Chelsea have moved quickly and are optimistic of getting the deal across the line, with the fee at around €550,000.

Elsewhere, Manchester City forward Chloe Kelly has released an emotional statement asking to be granted her wish to leave the club in search of first-team football. Sources have told ESPN that Manchester United remain keen to sign Kelly on loan, and she has turned down a move to Brighton, but City are reluctant to let her leave for their rivals and another side in the mix at the top of the table. There could also be a major move in Europe as Squad Depth reports that Lyon are finalising an $830,000 (€800,000) deal to sign Houston Dash defender Tarciane.

    – Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán is set to undergo his medical ahead of his proposed move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, where he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Athletic. The two teams are reported to have agreed a £64.5m deal for the 21-year-old, despite him recently signing a six-year contract at Villa Park in October. Duran has since been linked with an exit from the club in a continued struggle to garner first-team football over current starter Ollie Watkins, who the Villains rejected a reported £60m offer from Arsenal for on Wednesday. Manager Unai Emery said post-match after Villa’s 4-2 win over Celtic in the UEFA Champions League that Durán’s move is “good news” for the club as it shows they are doing the right things in terms of developing players.

Manchester United want to sign Sporting CP full-back Geovany Quenda as he eyes a reunion with former boss Ruben Amorim, says O Jogo. Left-back Patrick Dorgu is poised to join from Lecce for €35m, but Amorim will also need a right-back for his 3-4-2-1 formation and the 17-year-old Quenda is top of his wishlist. United won’t push for a deal this month due to a lack of funds, but will try and land him in the summer.

    – Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is attracting interest from Al Hilal, according to Globo Esporte. The Saudi Pro League side have reportedly identified the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Neymar, who was confirmed to have agreed a move to return to Santos on Tuesday. Initial talks are said to have taken place with Los Blancos, though it is expected that a move could be difficult to complete in the middle of the season. Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah is also believed to remain on Al Hilal’s radar, though they are currently exploring alternatives.

    EXPERT TAKE

ESPN’s Sam Tighe looks at why Aston Villa couldn’t say no to a huge offer to sign Jhon Durán.

The word “enigma” has become overused in football, but in Durán’s case it’s the perfect way to describe a chaotic, mysterious, incredible, but baffling footballer.

From a pure talent and potential perspective, few can hold a candle to him. He has scored 20 goals for Aston Villa and almost all of them have been utterly remarkable, from his swerving Goal of the Season contender against Everton, to his audacious lob against Bayern Munich, barely a month goes by without him doing something to send jaws to the floor.

The conundrum with the 21-year-old has been that outside of his delicious ball-striking and natural nose for goal, his game is unrefined — a fact hammered home by the sheer contrast in his understanding of holdup, pressing and game management to Villa teammate Ollie Watkins.

The two have struggled to co-exist, in part because they struggle to play together, but also because they both demand to be first choice. Something was going to give in 2025 and it’s no surprise that it’s Durán that departs, as Unai Emery understandably prefers Watkins’ reliability over the Colombia international’s maverick nature.

That, plus the fact a fee of £64.5m plus bonuses should effectively solve any Profit and sustainability rules (PSR) concerns Villa may have had this campaign, makes it an opportunity the club can’t pass up.

According to recent reports, Chelsea have intensified their pursuit of Barcelona wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho. The 17-year-old forward has been turning heads with his impressive performances for Barcelona’s youth teams, and Chelsea are said to be eager to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho is considered one of the brightest young talents in Spanish football, and Chelsea are hoping to beat out competition from other top European clubs to secure his signature. The Blues have reportedly been in talks with Barcelona over a potential transfer fee, with negotiations said to be progressing well.

If Chelsea are successful in their pursuit of Garnacho, it could be a major coup for the club as they look to bolster their attacking options for the future. With the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Christian Pulisic already in their ranks, adding Garnacho to the mix could make Chelsea’s attacking lineup even more formidable.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing transfer saga as Chelsea look to finalize a deal for Garnacho in the coming weeks.

  • Eagles’ Brandon Graham Returns to Practice amid Injury Rehab Ahead of Super Bowl 59 | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs, they could get one of their defensive leaders back in the lineup.

The Eagles announced on Thursday that they’ve opened the practice window for veteran linebacker Brandon Graham, who hasn’t played since suffering a torn triceps on Nov. 24.

Graham was placed on injured reserve after tearing his triceps in a 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. While it was initially believed that he would miss the rest of the season, Philadelphia’s run to the Super Bowl motivated him to continue working toward his return.

“We’ll see. Tomorrow, I’ll go meet up and we’ll see if it’s a possibility. I’ve been working man, but we will see,” Graham said after the Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship. “At the end of the day, I’m just happy we got there. Those boys scored 55 today – that’s what’s up – so, that might be telling me something.”

Graham has spent his entire 15-year career in Philadelphia and is one of the most beloved players in team history. His strip-sack of legendary quarterback Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots helped the Eagles secure their first and only Lombardi Trophy.

This is the second time in the last three years that Philadelphia is meeting Kansas City in the Super Bowl. After failing to make an impact in Super Bowl LVIII, Graham will surely be hoping to contribute for the Eagles if he’s able to take the field on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham has returned to practice as he continues his rehab from an injury ahead of Super Bowl 59. Graham, who suffered a knee injury earlier in the season, has been working diligently to get back on the field and contribute to his team’s postseason run.

The Eagles are hopeful that Graham will be able to make a significant impact in the Super Bowl, as his presence on the defensive line is crucial to their success. Graham’s return to practice is a positive sign for the team, as they prepare to face off against their opponent in the biggest game of the year.

Stay tuned for more updates on Graham’s progress as the Eagles gear up for Super Bowl 59. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest news, scores, highlights, stats, and rumors surrounding the Eagles and their journey to the championship game. Let’s go Eagles! #FlyEaglesFly.
