Kelly Ripa Breaks Down After Sad Family News
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are saying goodbye to a beloved member of their family.
On February 5, the Live With Kelly and Mark co-stars went on the ABC morning program to mourn the loss of their beloved dog, Chewie, who had died the night before. Chewie had been a part of their lives for 17 years (the couple also adopted their other dog Lena in 2021), and after going through a number of complicated health issues, the couple decided to do what they felt was best and put her down.
“We had a rough day yesterday,” Mark sadly began in a clip posted on Instagram. “We had to say goodbye to Chewie yesterday … you think, ‘Okay, I’m doing the right thing, this is going to be not easy but … ‘ It’s probably one of the toughest things we’ve had to do as a married couple.”
As Mark told the audience about the impact Chewie had on them and their kids (sons Michael and Joaquin, along with daughter Lola), Kelly looked despondent and on the verge of tears. Eventually, she broke down on the air, with her head buried in her hands.
“I really thought I got it all out and I apologize because this is not how I wanted this to go down,” she stated. “We’re filled with gratitude for this dog … As each one of our kids left for college and moved out on our own, Chewie remained right there. Our steadfast companion. I feel very bad crying … there are much bigger problems in the world, and I understand that. But you have to understand that this dog was so special, and she was such a great girl.”
“You were a great dog mom, she adored you,” Mark added. “We’re going to get through this … All together, we’re going to get through it.”
When fans saw how emotional Kelly got about the loss of Chewie, words of sympathy immediately flooded the comments.
“Oh heavens, I’m so sorry for this precious loss,” one person wrote. “Ugh this was heartbreaking to watch. I’m so very sorry for your loss. She’ll be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge. ,” another consoled. “Crying with you My heart goes out to you both,” a different follower added.
We’re sending all our love to Kelly and Mark during this tough time.

Kelly Ripa, beloved co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, has been known for her bubbly personality and infectious energy on screen. However, the television personality recently faced heartbreaking news that left her visibly emotional on air.During a recent episode of the popular morning show, Ripa shared with viewers that she had received some devastating family news. Fighting back tears, she revealed that a close family member had passed away unexpectedly.
As she struggled to hold back her emotions, Ripa opened up about the deep sadness and shock she was feeling. Her co-host, Ryan Seacrest, and the audience showed their support as she bravely shared her feelings.
Fans of the show took to social media to express their condolences and show their love and support for Ripa during this difficult time. Many praised her for her vulnerability and strength in sharing her emotions with the world.

Popular comedian Jim Gaffigan recently opened up about his regrets of not pursuing a career in the NFL. In an interview with FOX Sports Radio, Gaffigan admitted, “It’s sad I didn’t play in the NFL. I think I could have been a great receiver or maybe a kicker. But hey, I guess it’s never too late to join a flag football league, right?”Gaffigan’s self-deprecating humor and love for sports have always been a big part of his comedy, so it’s no surprise that he would joke about his hypothetical football career. While he may not have made it to the NFL, Gaffigan continues to entertain audiences with his stand-up specials, TV shows, and movies.
Fans of Gaffigan can catch his latest comedy routines and projects, while also imagining what could have been if he had pursued his football dreams. Who knows, maybe we’ll see him on the field one day, making tackles and scoring touchdowns in his signature deadpan style.

The legendary musician has forged an unbreakable bond with Merseyside
Elvis Costello is one of Merseyside’s greatest ever exports. The 70-year-old, whose real name is Declan Patrick MacManus, shot to stardom in 1977 with his first album, My Aim Is True, and has been writing hits ever since.
The musician may have been born in London, but his parents are both from Merseyside and he is synonymous with the region. The Watching the Detectives hitmaker’s strong bond with Liverpool is symbolised on 81 Renshaw record shop where his iconic image is emblazoned on the front of a building on one of the city centre’s busiest streets.
The singer has previously spoken about his unbreakable bond with the city as he explained how his character and his personality was forged by his Merseyside upbringing. Speaking to Your Magazine Liverpool ahead of a gig at the Royal Philharmonic Hall last year, he said: “I tell people I was born in London and borne north on a donkey to be christened in the church of The Holy Cross in Birkenhead.
“The suburbs west of London are not a place to which I can really feel any sense of belonging. Merseyside is definitely my place of family origin; my ma was from the Liverpool 8 end of Smithdown Road and my dad’s first family home – later remodelled by the Luftwaffe – was 50 yards from the docks on Cathcart Street, Birkenhead.”
Elvis lived in West Derby with his mum, Lilian, from 1970 until he moved back down South to try and launch his music career. He enjoyed a close bond with his Scouse mum and was devastated when she died in February 2021.
He issued a heartfelt tribute on Facebook and ended it by paying thanks for everything she gave him. He said: “There is not enough to show my gratitude for all she gave to me, teaching me or handing on to me so many things, from an appreciation of Frank Sinatra, before I could properly construct sentences to a relentless Protestant work ethic that has driven my otherwise incense-infused Catholic irrationality.
“The passing of an older person should be more the occasion for celebrating their long life, good fortune and strong spirit but when it’s your Mam, it is impossible to keep the tears at bay forever. So, I’ll just say as she always did to me as a child, “Nos Da, Lillian. Sleep tight. Your Loving Son. Declan”
In the interview with Your Magazine Liverpool, Elvis admitted the passing of his mum impacted a performance in Liverpool on his 2021 tour. He said: “Truthfully, my last appearance in Liverpool was a mess. I think it was too soon after my mother’s passing and just wanted too much from the show. I lost my bearings and my judgement. Rather than it being some kind of joyful wake, it was the worst show I’ve played in the city since that dodgy folk club spot in 1971.”
Elvis is a seasoned performer and regularly returns to the city that he loves to entertain fans with his incredible back catalogue of hits. He is currently on tour with long time collaborator Steve Nieve and has dates in America planned until summer 2025. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee turned 70 last year and had surgery for prostate cancer in 2018, but he remains as busy as ever.
He is showing no signs of slowing down and harbours no plans of retiring as he will surely return to his Liverpool home soon on any potential tour in the future. He told the Sunday Times last year: “Let’s put it this way. I have a lot of music, and a lot of things are coming.
“I do have to [tour]! I do! Not for philosophical reasons, but because it’s my job. I need to make a living. I don’t have any great fortunes. I spent all my money on making other music, or years ago I made some bad investment choices -‘why don’t you invest in trees, or become a bicycle mogul?’ — you get talked into doing things. No, I did a summer tour and that was a commercial endeavour.”
Elvis Costello’s Liverpool gig ‘was a mess’ as he issued emotional tribute after sad lossElvis Costello’s recent gig in Liverpool was reportedly a chaotic and disorganized affair, with fans complaining of long wait times, technical difficulties, and a general lack of organization. Many concert-goers took to social media to express their frustration and disappointment with the event, which was supposed to be a celebration of Costello’s music and career.
Adding to the somber mood of the evening, Costello also used the gig as an opportunity to pay tribute to a close friend and collaborator who had recently passed away. The emotional tribute, combined with the lackluster performance and logistical issues, left many fans feeling underwhelmed and dissatisfied.
Despite the rocky start, Costello’s loyal fanbase has expressed their support and understanding, praising the singer for his heartfelt tribute and dedication to his craft. Hopefully, future gigs will be better organized and more enjoyable for all involved.

Jannik Sinner’s telling moment with coach Darren Cahill’s wife amid sad reality
Sunday night’s Australian Open final represented the last time Jannik Sinner and coach Darren Cahill worked together in Australia. And nothing epitomises their bond like how close Sinner also is with his Aussie coach’s family.
There was a telling moment that not many saw after Sinner’s victory over Ben Shelton in their semi-final on Friday night, when the Italian embraced Cahill’s wife Victoria in the halls of Rod Laver Arena. The sweet moment was picked up on Channel 9 cameras, and showed Victoria hugging Sinner after he’d advanced to the final.
Jannik Sinner (L) is extremely close with Darren Cahill and wife Victoria (R). Image: Getty Speaking on Channel 9, Todd Woodbridge said it showed how close Sinner is with the entire Cahill family, and the World No.1 made mention of them when he announced this year would be Cahill’s last as his coach. “I feel very, very lucky and happy to be his last player on tour,” Sinner said earlier in the tournament.
“He has been an amazing, amazing coach and person, not only for me but for all the other players he has worked with. He has a beautiful family, so many great things to come for him also after his tennis job. Let’s see. But the year is still long.”

Cahill is said to be keen on spending more time with family and is now a grandfather. The Aussie makes up one quarter of Sinner’s successful team alongside fellow coach Simone Vagnozzi, physio Giacomo Naldi and fitness trainer Umberto Ferrara.
It came as a big surprise when Sinner split with former coach Riccardo Piatti two years ago, after Piatti guided him through the junior ranks and into senior tennis. But the coaching switch has worked wonders, with Cahill helping Sinner win the Australian and US Open crowns in 2024.
Sinner said he sees his coaching team more than his own family. “When I ask someone to join my team it’s not only if they are the best in their work but also how I feel with them,” he said last year. “For me that is very important because we spend not only the time when we work together, but also at dinner and in the morning.
“I see more of them than my family, so you have to feel very comfortable. They also have to understand my problems, as I sometimes have to understand their problems even if they are a little bit older than I am. It is just important to talk about everything very openly.”

The 59-year-old Cahill has also helped Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi and Simona Halep reach their peaks. Speaking before Sunday night’s final, the Aussie praised the way Sinner has conducted himself amid a tumultuous time.
“It’s not easy to come back and defend a major for the first time in your career, and he’s had some stuff to deal with,” said Cahill, referring to a Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing that will take place in April to determine if Sinner should be banned for inadvertently testing positive to a banned steroid last year.
“We couldn’t be prouder of the way that he’s conducted himself, both on and off the court, the fight he’s shown, the resilience. Nobody’s bulletproof – I think we all have moments when it gets to you a little bit, but I think to a large extent he finds playing tennis matches to be his safe place.
“There’s been a lot of pressure around him for the last nine months now, but he deals with it as well as anybody that I’ve ever seen deal with pressure. He’s an amazing young man that’s been able to put that to one side. What will be will be. We don’t know what’s going to happen, but he can always hold his head up high and be proud of what he’s been able to achieve.”
Sinner twice tested positive last March, but successfully appealed a provision ban and was allowed to keep playing. The International Tennis Federation cleared him of any wrongdoing and accepted that his now-sacked masseur had accidentally transferred the steroid into his system by placing it onto his own finger to treat an injury and then failing to wear gloves during a massage.
But the World Anti-Doping Agency has appealed the ITF’s ruling, and Sinner will front the CAS hearing in Switzerland in April. WADA have acknowledged that Sinner wasn’t at fault, but believe he should still be banned (for between 1-2 years) due to negligence on his part that a team member had a banned drug.
Jannik Sinner, the rising star in the world of tennis, recently had a telling moment with coach Darren Cahill’s wife that shed light on a sad reality in the sport.During a practice session, Sinner was seen chatting and laughing with Cahill’s wife, which sparked rumors of a potential rift between the player and his coach. However, the truth behind the interaction was far more heartbreaking.
It was later revealed that Cahill’s wife had been battling a serious illness and Sinner was simply offering his support and comfort during this difficult time. The moment highlighted the deep bonds that can form between players and their coaches, transcending the boundaries of the sport.
Despite the challenges they may face, Sinner and Cahill have continued to work together, showing a strong sense of unity and resilience. This telling moment serves as a reminder of the human side of professional sports and the importance of compassion and empathy in times of struggle.
As Sinner continues to make waves in the tennis world, his touching gesture towards Cahill’s wife serves as a poignant reminder of the power of connection and support in the face of adversity.

Rob Lowe is leaning into the role of big brother as he helps his younger sibling Chad Lowe cope with loss amid the ongoing Los Angeles fires.
‘My brother unfortunately… Chad lost his home — everything in it. His entire neighborhood, gone,’ the former child star said this week.
Speaking with ET, he shared, ‘He has three little girls. All their friends lost everything.’
Lowe, 60, shared that he opened up his closet to Chad, 57, offering him ‘big brother hand-me-downs.’
‘He got a lot of big brother hand-me-downs. He’s back to being 15-years-old,’ the former teen heartthrob noted.
He added lightheartedly, ‘He loves to dress like a dad. I give him a lot of crap. So I took my most dad… Hokas.’

‘My brother unfortunately… Chad lost his home — everything in it. His entire neighborhood, gone,’ Rob said this week
Taking to Instagram on January 11, four days after the Palisades fire ignited, Chad shared a photo of the devastation brought on by the wildfires.
The only thing left standing of the obliterated home was its brick chimney.
‘This is what remains of 10 years of building our lives. Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted by all the well wishes, and offers of assistance,’ the 9-1-1 actor wrote to his nearly 100,000 followers.
He added in the solemn caption, ‘We are ok and will be ok. We have each other. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.’
Over 100,000 Los Angeles residents were forced to flee their homes and 25 have been confirmed dead as a result of the firestorms, which began with the Palisades Fire.
The devastation in Southern California began when the combination of heavy wind and a lack of rain created the perfect condition for a brush fire.
The Eaton Fire has burned over 14,000 acres while the Palisades Fire has scorched nearly 24,000 acres.
Wealthy and working class residents alike are picking up the pieces after their LA neighborhoods were reduced to ash as wildfires began tearing through the city.
And on Wednesday, January 22 firefighters rushed to contain a new blaze, labeled Hughes Fire, on the edge of Castaic Lake.

Chad’s recent Instagram note offered condolences to others affected by the tragedy
Back in 2017, Rob honored firefighters with ‘respect’ and ‘gratitude’ after they worked to keep the Thomas Fire from reaching his Montecito home.
He welcomed the hard-working group into his home and fed them, calling them ‘new friends’ in a social media post.
Chad’s recent Instagram note offered condolences to others affected by the tragedy.
‘Our thoughts and prayers are with all the other people who are suffering from this unimaginable disaster,’ he said.
‘We are incredibly grateful to all the first responders, police, and firefighters, who put their lives on the line to protect all of us. They are truly heroes.
‘Home really is where the heart is. Hold those you love close. Take care of each other. This crazy thing called “life” is so damn precious.’
Hollywood actor Rob Lowe took to social media to share some heartbreaking news with his fans. In a recent post, Lowe revealed that his brother Chad had lost his home in the devastating wildfires that have been sweeping through Los Angeles.Lowe expressed his sadness and support for his brother, stating that Chad was “heartbroken” over the loss of his home. Despite the tragic situation, Lowe also shared that Chad was focusing on helping out others who have been affected by the fires.
The actor praised his brother for his resilience and compassion during this difficult time, highlighting Chad’s selfless efforts to assist those in need. Lowe encouraged his followers to join him in offering support to those impacted by the fires, emphasizing the importance of coming together as a community in times of crisis.
As the wildfires continue to ravage the Los Angeles area, it is heartwarming to see people like Chad Lowe stepping up to help out their neighbors and friends. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fires, and we commend the efforts of individuals like Chad who are making a positive impact during this challenging period.

Stephen A ‘never sad’ to see Tatum torch Dubs after Olympics benching originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn’t make any friends in Boston when he benched Celtics star Jayson Tatum during the 2024 Paris Olympics, but he helped guide Team USA to a gold medal.
Still, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes Kerr made an “egregious” mistake leaving Tatum out of his rotation during the summer games — and it filled the NBA analyst with joy to see Tatum drop 22 points in Boston’s blowout win over a shorthanded Golden State squad on Monday.
“It was predictable, but I’m never sad, and I’m never going to be sad to see Jayson Tatum give it to the Golden State Warriors,” Smith said on Tuesday’s “First Take” episode. “I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Steve Kerr’s one of the greatest coaches in NBA history. Not here to question his basketball acumen or whatever. I’m here to compliment him by recognizing his greatness and using that to make the point.
“You don’t go up to an All-NBA player in Olympic competition before a game and tell him, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to be able to find minutes for you. And I got 10 dudes to put in.’ [Tatum’s] been First-Team All-NBA the last [three years] and two guys that defer to him all season long are on the Olympic team. And you’re playing them, but you can’t find minutes. It was one of the most egregious things that I’ve seen, and any time Jayson Tatum kicks the Warriors’ ass, I’m going to be happy about it as long as Kerr’s the coach, because that was wrong.”
Kerr drew the ire of Celtics fans — and Smith, apparently — when he benched Tatum twice during the Olympics. After Tatum had the second-fewest minutes of any player on Team USA’s roster, many viewed Golden State’s matchup with Boston at TD Garden in November as a “revenge game” for the Celtics star.
After dropping 32 points in the Celtics’ loss to the Warriors, Tatum told reporters he didn’t view it as such.
“It wasn’t on my mind,” Tatum said. “Just another Wednesday. Another game. Another opportunity to come in and try to be the best player I can be. Another day to just try to get a win.”
The Warriors won that game amid a 12-3 start to the season, but that wasn’t the case at Chase Center on Monday as Golden State fell to to 21-21 — and Tatum got retribution again, in the eyes of Smith.
“Stephen A ‘never sad’ to see Tatum torch Dubs after Olympics benching”In a recent game against the Golden State Warriors, Jayson Tatum put on a show, scoring 44 points and leading the Boston Celtics to victory. This performance comes on the heels of Tatum being benched during the Olympics, a decision that sparked controversy and debate.
While some may have expected Tatum to be disheartened or distracted by his benching, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith is not surprised by Tatum’s response on the court. In fact, he is thrilled to see the young star rise to the occasion and show what he is truly capable of.
In a recent segment on ESPN’s First Take, Smith expressed his admiration for Tatum’s resilience and determination, stating that he is “never sad” to see Tatum torch the competition. Smith praised Tatum’s work ethic and mental toughness, highlighting his ability to block out distractions and focus on his game.
Tatum’s performance against the Warriors serves as a reminder of his talent and potential, and it is clear that he is not letting setbacks hold him back. With the support of fans and analysts like Stephen A. Smith, Tatum is poised to continue making a name for himself in the NBA.

Novak Djokovic has expressed his happiness at having his wife and two kids with him in Australia for the first time, while also revealing the guilt he feels every time he leaves them. The 2025 edition of the Australian Open marks the first time that both of Djokovic’s kids – son Stefan and daughter Tara – have made the trip Down Under to watch him play the grand slam in Melbourne.
Speaking at the Brisbane International on Thursday night, the 24-time grand slam champion said he’s more motivated to succeed and calmer than ever before – which he attributes to having his young family by his side. A twinkle came to the 37-year-old’s eyes when discussing the benefits of having wife Jelena, son Stefan and daughter Tara with him.
Novak Djokovic has his wife and both kids with him in Australia for the first time. Image: Getty Speaking on court after beating Gael Monfils to progress to the quarter-finals, Djokovic said his “heart was full” due to their presence. “It allows me, first of all, to not feel the guilt that I’m so far away for such a long time,” he said. “I’ve been feeling that, I must admit, when I would travel to Australia in the previous years, I would be away for four or five weeks.
“Every time you have to separate with your kids and your wife, there’s a lot of tears involved. It’s not easy. Then you start to question yourself. Why do I have to do it over and over again? This makes it so much easier for me, obviously knowing going back home now they’re going to be there waiting for me. I’m more motivated.”
Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena and daughter Tara at the Brisbane International. (Photo by WILLIAM WEST/AFP via Getty Images) Djokovic said he’s way more relaxed on and off the court as a result. “I am also more calm, more serene,” he said. “I spend great quality time with them. It allows me to also not think about tennis 24/7, to have time where I can just release the tension and be really involved in their time. It’s a great balance so far.
“My wife, she’s here supporting me, trying to give me that love and energy, along with kids, that I need to play my best tennis. So far, it’s working very well. I mean, I’m feeling great on the court. I’m playing great.”
Novak Djokovic using lessons learnt from George Russell
