The Phoenix went down to the Kings on Wednesday night, with coach Josh King saying while he was disappointed in the result, he couldn’t say the same about the spirited effort his side showed.
Each game from now on is pivotal for the Phoenix to have a chance to make the top-four heading into the post-season.
Josh King’s team has won the last two outings against the JackJumpers this season and will look to sweep the season series against the Tasmanian side on Saturday night.
Scott Roth’s team has been ravaged with injury woes – their bigs Will Magnay and Majok Deng out with ankle injuries.
Despite the missing cavalry, Tasmania put up a gallant effort when going down to Sydney Kings 11-points last Saturday.

Joe Wieskamp has been on a tear since the FIBA Break, where he admitted on the club podcast that he had been well below his NBA-worthy standard of play. Josh King post-game called Wieskamp’s performance against the Kings on Wednesday night, “his best game of the season”, after working hard defensively with huge blocks to give the team momentum in the second half.
