  • Amy Schumer Recreates ‘Trainwreck’ Dance Scene with Knicks City Dancers

    Amy Schumer’s still got it!

As the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the New York Knicks on Saturday, Feb. 1, the actress and comedian, 43, took the crowd at Madison Square Garden by surprise by recreating the most iconic scene from her film Trainwreck10 years after the film came out.

During halftime at the heated New York City basketball game, the Knicks City Dancers invited Schumer to the court. The cheerleading squad called the star, who initially pretended to be shocked at the gesture, out of her courtside seat with the camera and summoned her to center court, where she then flawlessly executed a dance to “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel.

The coordinated group number, which featured Schumer front and center, wasn’t exactly the same as the dance she does with the Knicks cheerleaders in Trainwreck as a gesture to her onscreen love interest Bill Hader. It was, however, similarly intensive — even including a kick line.

The quick dance ended with a group pose and Schumer blowing kisses to the crowd, which also included LeBron James, who starred in her 2015 film. It also earned her a high honor — a “rookie of the year” title — in a feature on the Knicks City Dancers’ Instagram.

And, on her Instagram, Schumer shared some clips from the dance number, as well as some shots of her hanging out courtside at the Lakers vs. Knicks game with the cast of her latest film, Kinda Pregnant, including Jillian Bell, Will Forte and Brianne Howey.

The recreation also got a big reaction from Schumer’s celebrity pals, who filled her Instagram with praise for the number. “This is ICONIC,” Olivia Munn commented on her post, and Chelsea Handler said, “YES!”

Meanwhile, Katie Couric who was at MSG for the performance, wrote, “So glad I was there to witness this! Go Amy!”

Trainwreck — which Schumer co-wrote with Judd Apatow — marked her feature film debut. The 2015 rom-com follows Amy (Schumer), a magazine writer who does not believe monogamy is realistic, as she navigates falling in love for the first time with sports doctor Aaron Conners (Hader). James, 40, plays Aaron’s best friend.

Amy ends up performing with the Knicks City Dancers in the film to win back Aaron by, in her own words, showing him that she “can work hard,” “put myself out there” and “not be afraid to fail” — a “metaphor” for their relationship in the film.

Schumer’s latest film Kinda Pregnant, meanwhile, follows the comedian as Lainy, an English teacher in Brooklyn who, jealous of her best friend Kate’s (Bell) pregnancy, decides to wear a fake baby bump — then accidentally meets her dream man Josh (Forte) and gets caught up in furthering a growing lie.

The movie, which hits Netflix on Feb. 5, is “laugh-out-loud funny and relatable,” Schumer previously told PEOPLE.

The comedian also teased at least one emotional scene with character Megan, played by Howey. “Bri and I filmed a really special intimate scene sitting on the bathroom floor,” the star told PEOPLE, “and that was the most satisfying day of shooting for me as a woman and and artist. But don’t get it twisted — you will cry-laugh watching this movie.”

Amy Schumer recently delighted fans by recreating her iconic dance scene from the hit movie “Trainwreck” with the Knicks City Dancers during a halftime show at a New York Knicks game.

The comedian and actress showed off her dance moves and comedic skills as she grooved alongside the talented dancers, bringing back memories of her hilarious performance in the film. Schumer’s infectious energy and sense of humor had the crowd cheering and laughing along with her.

Fans of Schumer and “Trainwreck” were thrilled to see her revisit the memorable dance scene, and it was a moment that certainly brought some much-needed fun and entertainment to the basketball game.

It’s clear that Schumer knows how to entertain a crowd, and this impromptu performance was just another example of her comedic talent and charisma. Here’s hoping we see more of her dance moves in the future!

  • Spokane’s Sydney Sweeney makes cameo in Super Bowl ad re-creating iconic ‘When Harry Met Sally’ scene with Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal

Viewers tuning into the Super Bowl (on Fox, Tubi and NFL+) may see some familiar faces in an advertisement for mayonnaise.

Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal reconvened 36 years later to re-create the iconic diner scene from “When Harry Met Sally” (where Ryan loudly acts out a particular R-rated deed to make a point).

In the 60-second spot, the rom-com queen, now 63, and comedian, 76, returned to Manhattan’s Katz’s Deli to dine on sandwiches.

But it’s not just these two successful actors you may recognize in the Hellman’s ad. Spokane’s Sydney Sweeney makes a cameo, too.

After Ryan puts Hellmann’s mayonnaise on her sandwich, she begins to make noises of pleasure.

Sweeney (of “Immaculate,” “Euphoria” “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” “Madame Web” and “Anyone But You” fame) then utters the line made famous by director Rob Reiner’s mother Estelle in the 1989 film: “I’ll have what she’s having.”

The line is ranked No. 33 on the American Film Institute’s list of the Top 100 movie quotes.

“Now that is a sandwich,” Ryan says.

Sweeney grew up in Spokane, attending Saint George’s School.

Crystal told People on Wednesday that the on-set reunion with Ryan “felt the same” as it did three decades earlier.

“It’s the first time that we’ve been offered something like that,” the six-time Emmy winner told People.

As for working with Sweeney? Both actors agreed the 27-year-old did the line justice.

“She’s adorable,” Crystal told People. “That’s a big deal. It’s an iconic line and it’s a big honor to get to do that. And a heavy burden.”

“It was game and fun and loose and ballsy and just seemed to be having a blast while she was there,” Ryan said. “She’s a completely adorable person.”

Spokane’s Sydney Sweeney makes cameo in Super Bowl ad re-creating iconic ‘When Harry Met Sally’ scene with Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal

Spokane native and rising Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney stole the spotlight during this year’s Super Bowl with a memorable cameo in a commercial that paid homage to the classic romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally.”

In the ad, Sweeney re-created the iconic deli scene from the movie, where Meg Ryan famously fakes an orgasm in front of Billy Crystal. Sweeney’s performance was pitch-perfect, capturing the essence of Ryan’s original performance while adding her own modern twist.

Fans were thrilled to see Sweeney sharing the screen with two legends of the silver screen, and many took to social media to praise her acting chops and undeniable chemistry with Crystal.

Sweeney, who got her start in the industry at a young age, has been making waves in Hollywood with roles in hit shows like “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus.” Her star is on the rise, and this Super Bowl cameo is just the latest example of her talent and versatility.

Spokane is proud to call Sydney Sweeney one of its own, and we can’t wait to see what she does next on the big screen. Keep shining, Sydney!

  • REVEALED: Justin Baldoni’s voice note to Blake Lively addressing It Ends With Us rooftop scene feud

It’s one of the most eye-opening revelations to emerge in the messy It Ends With Us saga so far: Blake Lively appearing to threaten co-star Justin Baldoni by comparing herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi and referring to husband Ryan Reynolds and bestie Taylor Swift as her ‘dragons’.

Now DailyMail.com has obtained exclusive audio which sheds further light on the feud which arose when Lively, 37, made changes to the rooftop scene in the romantic drama film – not all of which were met with unqualified praise.

Text messages from April 2023 included in the $400million lawsuit filed against the actress show a dejected Lively expressing her disappointment at Baldoni’s lukewarm response to her version of the scene which had been praised by her husband and her superstar best friend.

The spat saw her go silent for several days until Baldoni ‘felt obliged’ to send her a text message saying he liked her pages and noting that he ‘would have felt that without Ryan and Taylor’, according to the complaint.

Lively would then respond with a lengthy text that said: ‘They [Reynolds and Swift] also know I’m not always good at making sure I’m seen and utilized for fear of threatening egos, or fear of affecting the ease of the process.

‘They don’t give a s*** about that. And because of that, everyone listens to them with immense respect and enthusiasm. So I guess I have to stop worrying about people liking me.’

The feud arose when Lively, 37, made changes to the film's famous rooftop scene. Baldoni replied with a voicemail, in which the clearly rattled actor could be heard offering Lively a groveling apology and noting 'I fell short' over his response to her changes; Lively and Baldoni seen in a still

DailyMail.com obtained exclusive audio which sheds further light on the feud which arose when Blake Lively, 37, made changes to the film’s famous rooftop scene

Lively admitted that Baldoni's response to her version of the scene 'didn't feel great for me' after he seemed hesitant about many of the changes, but thanked her for her 'passion'

In text messages included in his filing, Lively admitted that Baldoni’s response to her version of the scene ‘didn’t feel great for me’ after he seemed hesitant about many of the changes, but thanked her for her ‘passion’

Baldoni replied with a voicemail, published today for the first time, in which the clearly rattled actor could be heard offering Lively a groveling apology and noting ‘I fell short’ over his response to her changes.

In the full audio message, which is just over six and a half minutes long, he goes on to say that he is pleased she feels comfortable enough to tell him that and describes himself as ‘a very flawed man, as my wife will say.’

Baldoni then addresses Lively’s dragon threat directly, saying: ‘Damn right, you got great friends. If that’s how you felt and they knew that. F***.

‘We should all have friends like that, aside from the fact they’re two of the most creative people on the planet… The three of you guys together is unbelievable. Talk about energy. Force. All three of you.’

But, he reiterates, he did not need their names to be raised over the changes to the scene and instead goes on to praise the glamorous blonde – highlighting her work ethic and creative vision.

He said: ‘I just wanted you to know, I didn’t need that. It’s really good and it’s going to make the movie sing like you said and I’m excited to go through the whole movie with you.

A text message exchange from April 15, 2023 shows Baldoni praising Lively's version of the rooftop scene and Lively complimenting his work as a director and actor in return

‘You and I have been trying to build a relationship which I think we’ve done successfully. Here we are talking together at 2am in the morning.

‘But largely via text and voicemail and I will admit, that’s not my biggest strength. I love being with people and being in somebody’s space and being face-to-face and I think that’s where I excel.

‘But I’ve definitely fallen short at times in our texts and voicemail exchanges because there’s so much to communicate and so much happening.

‘All I have to say is I’m really looking forward to spending time together and I believe that’s going to go a long way for our chemistry, which I believe is there. It’s been there from the start so I was so damn excited when you agreed to do this film. I believe it comes from us both being so hard working and having a vision.

‘I’m excited to have a creative partner in that with you.’

The new audio comes as the drama over It Ends With Us rumbles on, with Lively and Reynolds facing imminent subpoenas from Baldoni’s legal team.

At the same time, lawyers working for the A-list couple have made a fresh bid to gag Baldoni’s side – writing to New York judge Lewis J. Liman in a bid to shut down a website they plan to launch which will contain copies of every text and email exchanged by the warring parties.

The letter, seen by DailyMail.com, also accuses Baldoni’s team of launching ‘character attacks’ on Lively and of making ‘false and defamatory’ statements.

It goes on to ask Judge Liman to prevent the launch of the website on the basis it could influence a jury pool and requests a conference with both sides present to discuss it.

The battle between Lively and Baldoni began with rumors of rancor behind the scenes of It Ends With Us when it was released last August.

It then exploded into a legal fight just before Christmas when the Gossip Girl actress sued Baldoni for sexual harassment.

The film at the heart of the feud, based on the 2016 bestseller by Colleen Hoover, was released in August and was a box office hit. It follows Lily Bloom, a florist played by Lively, who falls in love with a charming but abusive neurosurgeon played by Baldoni, who was also the film's director

At the same time, the New York Times released a story based on Lively’s legal filing that accused him of orchestrating a negative publicity campaign against her and put the smell claim front and center.

In turn, Baldoni sued the Times for defamation and, two weeks go, launched a lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds that accused her of using her celebrity power to hijack his film and attempt to torpedo his career.

Since then, torrents of new information have come to light – including raw footage of a scene that Lively claimed had seen Baldoni subject her to sexual harassment by dragging his lips up her neck and telling her ‘it smells so good’.

Lively had insisted the clip had no audio and the microphones were switched off – and therefore, nobody heard the alleged harassment.

But DailyMail.com’s raw footage proved that Baldoni’s microphone was switched on and that the alleged abuse was in fact a discussion about the smell of Lively’s fake tan – throwing her claims into doubt.

The warring co-stars are also heard discussing their other halves, with Lively saying she and Reynolds talk ‘all the time’ while Baldoni says he and wife Emily stare at each other ‘for 10, literally like we’ve done it for five minutes’.

DailyMail.com previously published raw footage showing the slow dance montage scene during which Lively claimed Baldoni had sexually harassed her by nuzzling her neck and declaring: 'It smells so good'

Lively then bursts into laughter as he tells her ‘I think you would find it terrifying’. When Lively continues to tell him about how she can’t stop talking to Reynolds, Baldoni compliments: ‘Oh, I think that’s cute. You guys are really cute.’

Awkwardly, she replies ‘I think it’s more than cute’ which he hastily agrees with, adding ‘I think you guys are amazing.’

The incident formed a key plank of the sex harassment lawsuit Lively filed against Baldoni before Christmas, along with claims he deliberately set out to smear her and ruin her reputation.

Baldoni’s counter-suit says Lively attempted to hijack his film, failed to read the novel on which the movie is based until long after filming had begun and orchestrated a negative publicity campaign of her own with the connivance of her own publicist Leslie Sloane and the New York Times.

The actress and her team are also accused of doctoring text conversations between Baldoni’s publicists to make them look damning and as if they’re plotting a smear campaign against her – which led to both being subjected to social media abuse when the edited texts were published.

Baldoni’s cross-complaint also revealed that he and his family had been forced to spend the premiere of It Ends With Us sitting in a basement because Lively refused to allow him to be in the same room as her.

Recently, a voice note from Justin Baldoni to Blake Lively addressing the rooftop scene feud in the film “It Ends With Us” has been revealed. In the voice note, Baldoni expresses his thoughts and feelings about the controversy surrounding the scene and clarifies his intentions behind it.

In the voice note, Baldoni explains that the rooftop scene was meant to create a powerful and emotional moment in the film, highlighting the complex and difficult issues surrounding domestic abuse. He emphasizes that the scene was not meant to offend or upset anyone, but rather to shine a light on an important and often overlooked issue.

Baldoni goes on to express his admiration and respect for Lively as a talented actress and collaborator, and apologizes if there was any misunderstanding or hurt caused by the scene. He reassures Lively that his intentions were always pure and that he deeply values their working relationship.

Overall, the voice note reveals the heartfelt and genuine intentions behind the controversial rooftop scene in “It Ends With Us,” and highlights the importance of open communication and understanding in creative collaborations.

One of the things about Sally Albright that drives Harry Burns crazy in the 1989 movie “When Harry Met Sally” is her picky food sensibilities. It takes her an hour and a half to make a sandwich, he tells her. In the sequel, she only has 30 seconds.

The characters, famously played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, return to New York’s Katz’ Delicatessen for a reprise of one of the movie’s best-known scenes in which Sally pretends to have an orgasm while the pair dines. Now, they will also promote Hellmann’s mayonnaise in the Super Bowl.

    More from Variety

With the movie recently reaching its 35th anniversary and being accepted into the National Film Registry, “it just felt like the perfect storm for us to get back together at the same table and have indigestion,” says Crystal, during a recent interview.

Hellmann’s, which is owned by the consumer-products giant Unilever, is showing its ambition for the Super Bowl commercial, the brand’s fifth. In recent years, the popular condiment has focused on the issue of food waste, telling Big Game viewers that the mayonnaise can help them use more of the supermarket staples that they buy. Last year’s Super Bowl ad tapped Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson and a “Mayo Cat.”

In contemplating another Super Bowl ad salvo, executives wanted to shake up the mission, says Jessica Grigoriou, senior vice president of marketing for condiments at Unilever, and show how the mayonnaise helped make for superior eating. “We want to continue to up the bar every year and continue to surprise people too and do something a little bit more unexpected.” she says. The ad taps humor and nostalgia, she adds, two themes that regularly prove popular at the Super Bowl. The new 30-second ad is slated to run in the second quarter during Fox’s telecast of the event on February 9.

Reviving a classic piece of content, however, is never easy. Indeed, past Super Bowl advertisers have resurrected popular film and TV characters, but usually not in the scenes that made them so memorable. General Motors in 2022 reconvened the cast of the 1997 hit “Austin Powers” in a new tale that has the popular character Dr. Evil, played by Mike Myers, trying to take over the auto giant in a new bid to control the world. Characters from HBO’s “The Sopranos” were resurrected that year for a spot from Chevrolet. In 2019, Anheuser-Busch InBev’s Stella Artois ran a Super Bowl spot featuring Jeff Bridges as “The Dude” from “The Big Lebowski” sitting near Sarah Jessica Parker playing Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City.”

Others have tried similar feats in other venues. Comcast in 2019 created a sequel of sorts to the beloved 1982 movie “E.T.” with the alien and actor Henry Thomas turning up for a longform commercial during NBC’s broadcast of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The company consulted with director Steve Spielberg to make sure it stayed true to the conceit.

Neither Ryan or Crystal had qualms about picking up where they left off (indeed, the table they sit at in the commercial is the same one used so many years ago in the film). “ I had never been back, ever,” says Ryan. “It looks precisely, exactly the same.” The rapport the actors still share, says Crystal, will make viewers feel as if the characters “have been coming there for 35 years every Saturday or Sunday and this is their thing.”

The commercial may have been more challenging than the movie, suggests Ryan, who did ads for Burger King and deodorant in a different era. “I always felt like movies were easier, frankly, with less attention to detail, you know?” she says. “There is a lot that 30 seconds or 45 seconds or 60 seconds have to communicate. It’s a different animal.”

Hellman’s isn’t leaving anything to chance. Fans can order the turkey and pastrami sandwiches they see in the new Super Bowl spot, says Grigoriou, with special instructions included to make the meal to Sally’s specifications (which require Hellmann’s to make things complete). Customers can even schedule the delivery for the Friday before the Super Bowl.

Even though the ad nods to an old film, it still has a new surprise. Sydney Sweeney makes a cameo to offer the oft-remembered line, “I’ll have what she’s having.”

The recreation of this specific scene shows just how much consumer culture has changed in the decades since the movie was on screens. In 1989, depicting an orgasm in public was viewed as tripping the lines of decency. At the time, “you hadn’t heard the word ‘orgasm’ in a film unless it was a Ron Jeremy movie,” says Crystal. Now, “there’s far worse on TV.” Oh, Harry.

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, the iconic duo from the beloved romantic comedy ‘When Harry Met Sally,’ have reunited to recreate one of the film’s most memorable scenes for a Hellmann’s Super Bowl ad. In the ad, Crystal and Ryan are joined by rising star Sydney Sweeney as they comically reenact the fake orgasm scene that made waves back in 1989.

The ad begins with Crystal and Ryan sitting in a diner, just like in the original film, as they order sandwiches with Hellmann’s mayo. As they take a bite of their sandwiches, Sweeney, playing a waitress, approaches their table and asks if everything is okay. This prompts Crystal to deliver his famous line, “I’ll have what she’s having,” before Ryan hilariously launches into her fake orgasm performance.

The scene is a perfect blend of nostalgia and humor, with Crystal and Ryan effortlessly recapturing the magic of their on-screen chemistry. Sweeney’s inclusion adds a fresh twist to the classic scene, making it a fun and entertaining watch for viewers of all ages.

As the ad comes to a close, the trio breaks character and shares a laugh, showcasing the camaraderie and fun they had while filming. The commercial ends with the Hellmann’s logo and a tagline that reads, “Bringing people together one sandwich at a time.”

Overall, this Super Bowl ad is a delightful homage to a beloved film and a creative way to promote Hellmann’s products. With Crystal, Ryan, and Sweeney at the helm, it’s sure to be a hit with audiences everywhere.

  • ‘Elsbeth’ Showrunner Teases “Most Emotional Scene” in The Series

After taking a break of over a month, Elsbeth Season 2 will return tonight with the “Unalive and Well” episode, in which the eponymous character will look into the case of a young man found dead in his car after leaving a holistic wellness center. Elsbeth will visit this establishment and begin to suspect its charismatic founder, Tom Murphey, portrayed by Eric McCormack, who guest stars in the episode.

Amid her investigation, Elsbeth will also get some much-needed and unexpected care after a tough few days at work, especially considering the Van Ness divorce scandal that made her flee Chicago for New York at the beginning of the show. The entire truth about what transpired will come out in “Unalive and Well,” which also features the “most emotional scene,” according to showrunner Jonathan Tolins. Teasing what’s ahead for Carrie Preston’s character in the ninth episode of Season 2, Tolins said to TV Insider:

“She checks into the wellness center partly to get away from the scandal because it just gives her a chance to not be in people’s faces at the precinct. And also, she ends up paired with a journey partner, played by Marcia Debonis, who is one of my favorite actresses, and who is so open and emotionally available that she becomes the perfect person for Elsbeth to talk to and unburden herself and really reveal what happened in Chicago. I think people are going to really like that.”

Elsbeth Will Investigate Her Feelings More Deeply

Elsbeth is about to be the most candid she has ever been as she opens up about Chicago without holding anything back. We also have Marcia there to help her on her journey, which viewers will witness in a campfire scene at the retreat. Sharing details about the episode, the show’s EP mentioned Leah Nanako Winkler as the scribe who wrote it “beautifully” and Nancy Hower as director before adding:

“It is one of the most emotional scenes we’ve ever done, if not the most emotional scene we’ve ever done. It is so beautiful. I can’t wait for people to see it.”

As for how much emotion viewers can expect from the title character in the episode, the showrunner divulged that we will “get to hear the pain and the anger that Elsbeth had about what happened in Chicago, which is the reason she left her whole life; she left the law and decided to move to New York and take this job working with the police.”

Elsbeth Season 2 returns tonight on CBS. Stay tuned to Collider for future news about the procedural.

  • ‘Elsbeth’ Finally Reveals What Happened in Chicago in ‘Most Emotional Scene We’ve Ever Done’ — What to Expect

The truth comes out in Elsbeth‘s midseason premiere. Following the major cliffhanger in December that revealed the legal scandal that made Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) flee Chicago at the start of the series, the midseason premiere will tell the whole story. There’s a heavy-hitting moment that showrunner Jonathan Tolins says is the “most emotional scene we’ve ever done.”

Elsbeth returns with Eric McCormack as guest star on Thursday, January 30 on CBS. In the episode, titled “Unalive and Well,” a young man is found dead in his car, and Elsbeth visits the holistic wellness center he’d just left. She begins to suspect its charismatic founder, Tom Murphey (McCormack), but she also gets some unexpected TLC after a tough few days at work. See an exclusive clip of the Will & Grace star in the video above. Tom and Elsbeth’s vibes couldn’t be more different, making for some great comedy.

Tom’s wellness center helps Elsbeth more than she expected. She arrived to investigate a murder, but she’ll leave having investigated her feelings more deeply. As revealed in the December midseason finale, Elsbeth was roped into a high-profile divorce case in Chicago during which documents that would’ve helped a struggling woman were hidden. The Van Ness divorce scandal was leaked to the press with the help of Judge Crawford (Michael Emerson, Preston’s husband) as part of their ongoing bitter feud.

The scandal has shocked Elsbeth’s work colleagues, who are now questioning the morals of a woman known among the bureau for her morality.

“She checks into the wellness center partly to get away from the scandal because it just gives her a chance to not be in people’s faces at the precinct,” Tolins tells TV Insider about Elsbeth‘s return. “And also, she ends up paired with a journey partner, played by Marcia Debonis, who is one of my favorite actresses, and who is so open and emotionally available that she becomes the perfect person for Elsbeth to talk to and unburden herself and really reveal what happened in Chicago. I think people are going to really like that.”

Marcia Debonis as Sheryl and Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni in Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 9, ‘Unalive and Well’ (Michael Parmelee / CBS)

Expect emotions to run deep in a scene by a campfire at the retreat. “Carrie and Marcia have a scene by a campfire. It’s beautifully written by Leah Nanako Winkler and directed by Nancy Hower, and it is one of the most emotional scenes we’ve ever done, if not the most emotional scene we’ve ever done. It is so beautiful. I can’t wait for people to see it,” says Tolins.

What makes it pack such a punch? “Well, we get to hear the pain and the anger that Elsbeth had about what happened in Chicago,” Tolins reveals, “which is the reason she left her whole life, she left the law and decided to move to New York and take this job working with the police.”

He’s also eager for viewers to see McCormack as the celebrity health nut who will bring the laughs while taking his job very, very seriously. McCormack’s Tom “exploits his power over people with his charm and his seductive qualities, but he’s not a conman,” Tolins reveals. “He does have gifts, but he is also very protective of what he’s built.”

Tolins notes that one specific practice at the center was based on real-life. “The plot involves this ceremony using a secretion from a frog that is actually a real thing,” he explains. “If you look it up, there are these centers where people do — it’s called the combo ceremony. It seems like we made it up. We didn’t make it up. It’s a bizarre thing that gives the episode an air of mystery and sort of other worldliness that is kind of cool.”

Elsbeth, Season 2 Midseason Premiere, Thursday, January 30, 10/9c, CBS

In the latest episode of “Elsbeth,” fans were left on the edge of their seats as the beloved character finally reveals what happened in Chicago. According to the show’s creators, this will be the most emotional scene they have ever done, so viewers should prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions.

In this highly anticipated moment, Elsbeth will open up about the traumatic events that took place in Chicago and how they have shaped her life ever since. Viewers can expect raw and powerful performances from the talented cast as they delve into the depths of Elsbeth’s past and her struggles to come to terms with it.

  • Platt and Mouch Tension at Scene of Gas Explosion (Exclusive)

Uh-oh, what’s going on with one of our favorite — and most stable! — One Chicago couples?! TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the big three-show crossover airing January 29 shows that something’s not quite right between Fire‘s Mouch (Christian Stolte) and P.D.‘s Platt (Amy Morton).

In the first crossover of MedFire, and P.D. since 2019, a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, and Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends the heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own. Med and Fire are swapping time slots for the event.

Our clip offers a look at the scene after the gas explosion. Chicago PD arrives on scene, and Platt immediately approaches Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) and asks of the geyser, “You can’t get this thing out yet?” He explains, “Not until we get the main line shut off. For now, we just gotta let it burn, keep a close eye on it, and hope that son of a bitch doesn’t throw us any curveballs.” Platt asks where he wants them. “This Plaza is going to fill up, so we need to keep people as far away from the flame as possible,” Pascal explains. Platt puts Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) on it.

Meanwhile, Severide (Taylor Kinney) radios for ladder support: There’s a collapsed staircase in a sub-basement, with up to 10 people trapped. Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) leads Truck to assist. Watch the full sneak peek above for much more, including some tension between Mouch and Platt when he approaches her at the scene.

“All of our team is put in danger during the event, but several main characters are especially affected,” Fire showrunner Andrea Newman told us. “There are firefighters trapped, other first responders injured, and the couples are really put through hell.”

And previously, P.D. showrunner Gwen Sigan had told us that Platt “plays a big part in the crossover. We got to give Amy a lot to do and it was really exciting. I mean, she’s so good and I feel like we were finally able to give her something different. I think you’ll see a different side of her character in the crossover, which is nice.” The promo shows that she ends up in the hospital.

What are you hoping to see in the crossover? Are you worried about Mouch and Platt after this clip? Let us know in the comments section below.

One Chicago Crossover, Wednesday, January 29, 8/7c, NBC

Platt and Mouch Tension at Scene of Gas Explosion (Exclusive)

In a shocking turn of events, tensions were running high between Detective Hailey Platt and Firefighter Brian “Mouch” Zvonecek at the scene of a gas explosion earlier today.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the two first responders engaged in a heated argument as they worked to secure the area and aid victims. It is unclear what sparked the altercation, but sources say it may have been related to conflicting opinions on how to handle the situation.

Platt, known for her no-nonsense attitude and dedication to her job, was seen shouting at Mouch, who appeared visibly frustrated and defensive. The two were eventually pulled apart by fellow first responders before the situation escalated further.

As the investigation into the gas explosion continues, one thing is certain: the tension between Platt and Mouch is far from resolved. Will this rift impact their ability to work together in the future, or will they find a way to put their differences aside for the greater good? Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
