  • WWE Rumors on Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley and Corey Graves; Joe Hendry Talks Rumble | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

WICHITA, KANSAS - DECEMBER 09: Rhea Ripley enters the arena during Monday Night RAW at Intrust Bank Arena on December 9, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas. (Photo by WWE/Getty Images)

    WWE/Getty Images

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.

Ripley vs. Belair Reportedly Discussed for WrestleMania

Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair haven’t competed in a singles bout since 2022—in a gauntlet match no less—but they may not be avoiding one another for much longer.

Fightful Select (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported that WWE officials have discussed staging Ripley vs. Belair at WrestleMania 41 in April.

Ripley reclaimed the Women’s World Championship on Raw’s Netflix premiere by beating Liv Morgan. She then successfully defended the gold against Nia Jax to open the most recent Saturday Night’s Main Event special.

Even assuming Ripley still has any unfinished business with Morgan, WWE is setting the table for her to pivot to a fresh storyline in time for WrestleMania.

Belair would present one such scenario for the champion and also be somebody with whom she has some shared history. They crossed paths in NXT and battled at NXT TakeOver: Portland in 2020.

Ripley told Sportskeeda’s Bill Apter last August she’d like to challenge Belair again and that their encounter would be “WrestleMania-worthy.”

The champ just might get her wish.

    Latest on Graves’ WWE Contract

Veteran announcer Corey Graves “wasn’t looking to leave the company” when he publicly vented about his demotion from the Raw broadcast team in a since-deleted post on social media, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘s Dave Meltzer (via Carrier).

Meltzer reported Graves still has two years remaining on his current deal with WWE.

With Raw moving to Netflix, WWE decided to pair Pat McAfee with Michael Cole at the broadcast table, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett pivoted from the company’s flagship program to SmackDown.

As a result of the reshuffle, Graves wound up back in NXT and he didn’t sound too thrilled. Seemingly alluding to McAfee in a Jan. 13 post, he lamented “being told you’re not famous enough for your own job.”

Graves didn’t call the Jan. 14 edition of NXT and WWE chose to have Barrett rather than him replace McAfee for Raw on Jan. 20. McAfee was unavailable due to his ESPN duties for college football’s national championship game.

Graves returned to NXT this week. Colleague Vic Joseph advised fans not to adjust their television sets because “this isn’t AI” while pointing to the retired wrestler. Graves, for his part, said he’s “right where I want to be.”

Hendry Discusses Possible Royal Rumble Match Appearance

WWE always includes some surprise appearances during the Royal Rumble match.

Those spots used to be reserved for returning legends or active stars who have been out of action for a while. The company’s partnership with TNA Wrestling, which was formalized this month, opened the door for other possibilities. Mickie James showed up in 2022 and brought the Impact women’s title with her.

Especially with the TNA deal in place, a lot of fans are hopeful that Joe Hendry will compete in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match.

Asked about the idea during an interview on the DeLoco Podcast (via Fightful’s Corey Brennan), Hendry expressed his desire to make it a reality.

“Anywhere, anytime, any show is what I said to Shawn Michaels when I debuted in NXT, that’s the first thing I said when I came back through the curtain and look at all the exciting things that it led to,” he said. “That obviously would be a huge honor and a privilege and something that’s synonymous with our business.”

Hendry also described himself as “a soldier for TNA Wrestling” who “will do is do what TNA Wrestling asks me to do.”

Speculation over the 36-year-old’s only grew last week when he announced an upcoming appearance at Wrestlecon Indianapolis, which runs Friday and Saturday. Royal Rumble takes place Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Perhaps that’s merely a coincidence, but fans will believe there’s much more to it than that.

In the world of WWE, rumors are always swirling about potential matchups, backstage drama, and future storylines. One of the hottest rumors right now is a potential showdown between Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley. Both women have been making waves in the WWE, and fans are eager to see them face off in the ring.

Another rumor that has been circulating is about Corey Graves potentially returning to the ring. The former wrestler turned commentator has been hinting at a possible comeback, and fans are curious to see if he will step back into the squared circle.

In other news, Joe Hendry recently spoke out about his hopes for this year’s Royal Rumble. The Scottish wrestler is determined to make a big impact in the event, and fans are eager to see what he has in store.

  • WWE Doesn’t Need The Rock for WrestleMania 41 to Be a Massive Success | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 7: The Rock makes his entrance during NXT: New Year's Evil at The Shrine Expo Hall on January 7, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by WWE/Getty Images)

    WWE/Getty Images

Even with WrestleMania 41 taking place during Easter weekend this year, the WWE does not need Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for the massive Las Vegas spectacle to be successful.

There is no doubt that WWE advertising an appearance from Johnson would make the event more exciting, especially for older wrestling fans, but between a loaded existing roster and ample legends to recruit for the event, the company is in a good position.

Here are the reasons why WWE wouldn’t be lost without The Rock at WrestleMania.

    Loaded Existing Roster

One of the biggest reasons Johnsons is not needed this year for WrestleMania is also one of the company’s most admirable attributes: its loaded existing main roster. While not true yearly, WWE has enough star power in 2025 to carry it through its biggest show without The Rock.

On the men’s side, Cody Rhodes and Gunther have carried the world titles well, while top names Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and more have made midcard storylines important all year.

The women’s divisions on both shows have improved with better angles and storytelling, led by Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, Bianca Belair, and others. Add in the returns of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Jade Cargill, and the depth across the main roster is undeniably strong.

With WWE recently adding several championships and putting a renewed focus on existing titles, WrestleMania 42 can be a spectacle highlighting every belt on the roster, with several new champions crowned.

Instead of leaning on legends, let the Royal Rumble winners each main event a night of WrestleMania. Problem solved.

    Other Legends and Debuting
    Superstars

If WWE cannot get The Rock but still insists on leaning on the past to build excitement for the Las Vegas PLE, there are ample options for them to choose from the history books.

From “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar to Trish Stratus and Lita, there are plenty of former WWE Superstars who could be utilized either in a physical capacity as part of a match or as a way to add intrigue to an existing storyline.

Another name guaranteed for the show is John Cena, who holds mainstream star power as well.

Or, instead of depending on stars of the past like The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan, WWE can work on debuting several marquee NXT names and giving them worthy programs leading into the biggest show of the year.

Superstars in the making, like Ethan Page, Wes Lee, Roxanne Perez, Trick Williams, Jordynne Grace, and the tag team of Nathan Frazer and Axiom, should all be given the time that would have been used for The Rock.

    An Unadvertised Arrival

Another distinct possibility is that WWE believes it doesn’t need The Rock as part of the card to draw people in, but could use him in a one-off, unadvertised spot that sets the stage for a full year of storylines.

While Johnson is a director and shareholder in TKO Group Holdings, WWE knows WrestleMania is the sport’s Super Bowl and doesn’t require the legend’s presence to sell tickets or generate interest.

What Triple H and WWE Creative do need, though, is for people to tune into Raw and SmackDown in the weeks following WrestleMania. One way to ensure interest in the premium live event is to have The Rock show up unannounced at the end of Night 2.

In an ideal world, Rhodes would lose his title to Reigns in the 2025 WrestleMania main event. As the new champion is celebrating, Johnson should hit the ring to embrace his cousin, only to hit him with a Rock Bottom and set the tone for the road to WrestleMania 42.

For more wrestling talk, listen to Ring Rust Radio for all of the hot topics or catch the latest episode in the player above (some language NSFW).

As we gear up for WrestleMania 41, there’s been a lot of talk about who will make a special appearance at the event. One name that keeps popping up is none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. While The Rock is undoubtedly a huge draw and a fan favorite, it’s important to remember that WWE doesn’t actually need him to make WrestleMania 41 a massive success.

WrestleMania is the biggest event in the wrestling world, drawing in millions of viewers from around the globe. With or without The Rock, the show is sure to be a hit. WWE has a roster full of talented superstars who are more than capable of putting on a show-stopping performance.

Not to mention, WrestleMania is about more than just one individual. It’s a celebration of the entire wrestling community and a showcase of the incredible talent that WWE has to offer. From the high-flying acrobatics of the cruiserweights to the hard-hitting action of the heavyweights, there’s something for every wrestling fan to enjoy.

So while it would be exciting to see The Rock make an appearance at WrestleMania 41, let’s not forget that the show will be a massive success regardless. The WWE Universe is ready to tune in and witness the magic that only WrestleMania can deliver. So sit back, relax, and get ready for a night of unforgettable moments and jaw-dropping matches.

New Orleans Pelicans star Dejounte Murray is out for the remainder of the NBA season after suffering a torn Achilles in Friday’s 118-116 loss to the Boston Celtics, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Murray appeared to suffer the non-contact injury while chasing an offensive rebound following his missed shot in the first quarter. He soon limped off the court and was helped back to the locker room before being ruled out for the remainder of the game.

    Bleacher Report @BleacherReport

Dejounte Murray was helped to the locker room after suffering an apparent non-contact injury on this play <a href=”https://t.co/4HVeiNwduI”>pic.twitter.com/4HVeiNwduI</a>

Following the injury, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the Pelicans will try to make a trade before the deadline to get under the luxury tax threshold.

The 28-year-old Murray, an All-Star in 2022, entered Friday averaging 17.9 points, 7.6 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals.

This has been a horrible year for New Orleans with multiple players impact by long-term injuries. As a team, the Pelicans entered Friday having played 48 total games. All but four players (Brandon Boston Jr., Yves Missi, Javonte Green, Jeremiah Robertson-Earl) have missed 10 or more contests.

Understandably, the Pelicans have struggled and now sit 12-37 after their 118-116 home loss to Boston.

New Orleans had high hopes entering this season. The Pels won 49 games and made the playoffs last year, but added Murray via trade from the Atlanta Hawks gave the team optimism for a deeper playoff run.

Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong has in New Orleans, and now Murray has suffered a devastating injury, dealing the Pelicans another massive blow.

The New Orleans Pelicans have been dealt a major blow as starting point guard Dejounte Murray is reportedly out for the season with a torn Achilles injury. The news comes as a devastating blow to the Pelicans, who were hoping to make a playoff push this season.

Murray, who was acquired in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs earlier this season, had been a key contributor for the Pelicans, averaging 15.6 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.8 rebounds per game.

The loss of Murray will be a significant setback for the Pelicans, who will now have to rely on backup point guards to fill the void left by his absence. The team will need to regroup quickly and find a way to stay competitive in the tough Western Conference.

Fans of the Pelicans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Murray, who was having a breakout season before suffering the injury. In the meantime, they will have to rally behind their team and show their support as they navigate through this difficult time. Stay tuned for more updates on Murray’s injury and the Pelicans’ season as it unfolds.

  • Brandon Ingram Trade Rumors: Hawks Linked to Pelicans Star After Jalen Johnson Injury | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

NEW ORLEANS, LA - DECEMBER 7: Brandon Ingram #14 of the New Orleans Pelicans during the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder during a regular season game on December 7, 2024 at United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The Atlanta Hawks reportedly may turn to the New Orleans Pelicans to find a replacement for Jalen Johnson after the forward suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst (1:20 mark) reported on Friday that there has been “a little bit of a warmup” regarding trade talks involving Brandon Ingram.

“Specifically, keep an eye on the Atlanta Hawks,” he said. “They just lost their star wing Jalen Johnson for the season, they may start to get interested in making a move especially for Brandon Ingram. Keep an eye on that.”

This has been a season to forget for the Pelicans, who entered with expectations of a playoff run but instead sit in 14th place in the Western Conference standings at 12-36 thanks in large part to injuries.

Ingram is scheduled for free agency after the season and could leave anyway, so it would make sense that New Orleans would be interested in trading him.

It might not be a long-term rebuild with Zion Williamson as the franchise player, so any assets the front office could get in an Ingram deal could help the Pelicans return to competitive form as soon as next season.

And Atlanta is battling for position in the Eastern Conference standings. It is 22-26 and in ninth place, which would put it in the play-in tournament if it cannot make up the two-game deficit on the sixth-seeded Miami Heat.

Losing Johnson will make that playoff battle all the more difficult, although Ingram would be a solid replacement.

The biggest question mark with the Duke product is health, as he has played just 18 games this season and last appeared in a contest on Dec. 7 thanks to an ankle injury.

Ingram has been effective when he does play and is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists a night while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from deep. Pairing him with Trae Young could make the Hawks dangerous in a play-in or playoff situation, although the front office will have to decide how much it is willing to give up given the team’s position in the standings.

As for the Pelicans, getting something back in return before he potentially leaves in free agency would make sense.

The Atlanta Hawks have been linked to New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram following a recent injury to rookie Jalen Johnson. With Johnson expected to miss significant time, the Hawks are reportedly exploring potential trade options to bolster their roster.

Ingram, a versatile forward who can score from all three levels, would provide a much-needed offensive boost for the Hawks. The 24-year-old is averaging 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game this season, and his ability to create his own shot would make him a valuable addition to Atlanta’s lineup.

While no formal trade talks have been reported yet, the Hawks are believed to be keeping a close eye on Ingram’s situation in New Orleans. With the Pelicans struggling this season and facing tough decisions regarding their roster, a trade involving Ingram could be a possibility.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Brandon Ingram trade rumors and how they could potentially impact both the Hawks and Pelicans. Stay connected with us for the latest news, scores, highlights, stats, and rumors surrounding this developing story.

    Live30 updates

    • Final: Auburn 92, Ole Miss 82

The Tigers are still undefeated in SEC play and are now 20-1 on the season. What an impressive road win for Auburn; Bruce Pearl’s team has now won 13 straight games.

    • Final: K-State 80, Iowa State 61

The Cyclones couldn’t pull off the comeback and drop their second straight game to fall to 17-4.

Kansas State snaps No. 3 Iowa State’s 29-game home winning streak. The consecutive losses could potentially drop them out of the Top 10.

    • Auburn holding strong

The Tigers are up 6 despite a late charge from the Rebels to make things interesting.

There’s just 1:26 left in the game and Ole Miss is playing the fouling game now to extend it.

    • K-State handling Iowa State

The No. 3 Cyclones may be looking at their second straight loss. After falling to Arizona on Monday, the Cyclones are struggling late at home against the Wildcats. They’re down double digits with 5 minutes left in the game.

    • Auburn surges ahead

Ole Miss had made it a one-possession game and could’ve tied things up, but the Tigers have regained their footing and lead by 8 with 6 minutes left.

    • Ole Miss keeping it close

We are back for the second half in Oxford and the Rebels are still hanging around as the game ticks down toward the 12-minute mark.

Ole Miss guard Sean Pedulla is 7-for-10 with 18 points to lead all scorers.

    • Arizona’s Caleb Love, ASU’s BJ Freeman ejected after skirmish

Love and Freeman were ejected during the final minute of Saturday’s game. Replays showed Freeman headbutted Love and they were both ejected during Arizona’s 81-72 win.

Bobby Hurley then pulled his team off the court and didn’t shake Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd’s hand. It could’ve been to avoid further issues between the teams.

    • Halftime: Auburn 41, Ole Miss 34

The Tigers finished the half strong with Denver Jones and Johni Broome hitting 3-pointers to give them a 7-point lead. The duo have 13 points each.

    • Final: Missouri 88, Mississippi State 61

In another SEC clash of ranked teams, the Tigers just destroyed the Bulldogs in Starkville in a game that was never close. Caleb Grill led the way for Mizzou with 20 points; MSU’s Josh Hubbard scored a game-high 24.

    • As the first half winds down in Oxford, Ole Miss is keeping pace with Auburn. These are 2 of 10 SEC teams that are ranked as we head into February, and they’ve played a pretty even game thus far.

    • Arizona, ASU battling in the desert

In a game that’s had no shortage of highlights, the Wildcats and Sun Devils are trading monster dunks.

    • St. John’s tops Providence on late jumper!

The Red Storm hold on for the Big East win on a short jumper by Kadary Richmond with seconds left! It comes after Providence stormed back from a 52-34 deficit with 10 minutes left.

St. John’s has now won 14 of its last 15 games.

    • Auburn, Ole Miss trading blows early

The Tigers started off hot and have a 17-14 lead as the SEC clash creeps toward the halfway point in the first half. Auburn has four 3-pointers but has also turned the ball over six times already.

    • Final: Tennessee 64, Florida 44

Less than a month after Florida delivered a beatdown on Tennessee in Gainesville, the Vols now return the favor by handling the Gators in Knoxville. Chaz Lanier leads the way with 19 points for the Vols.

    • Vols putting on a clinic
