  • Ellen Degeneres & Portia de Rossi’s Latest Move Shows They’re Seemingly Desperate to Cut All US Ties

It seems Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi haven’t cut all their US ties just yet. The Queens of California real estate seemingly made a hasty move to the UK, selling their dream home to the shock of everyone. However, there’s still one property they need to unload, and they’re trying to do it as quickly as possible.

According to SFGate, the pair have one final Los Angeles property, and it’s one fans may be familiar with. Back in late 2022, the pair bought Tom Ford’s old home: a five-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom home for $29 million.

Now, this is where it gets a little complicated: they listed the house soon after renovations for $33.9 million. It went off the market, with many thinking it got sold, but nope! It was just removed in Aug 2024, and they’re now listing it for less than a million more than when they bought it: for $29.99 million.

So it’s quite clear that they’re quite gun-ho about leaving their US roots behind, especially since they’re selling this mega mansion for such a low number compared to when they bought and renovated it.

For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and Rossie met back in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert. However, they didn’t get together until 2004. When they reconnected in 2004, DeGeneres was with photographer Alexandra Hedison and de Rossi was with singer Francesca Gregorini. However, after they split with their respective partners, they started dating.

They got engaged, and later married in Aug 2008, at their former home in Beverly Hills, Calif; and have been together ever since.

And in case you’re like, “When did they move to the UK?,” here’s what you need to know. They left after President Donald Trump was re-elected (and after DeGeneres said goodbye to the spotlight. However, insiders also claimed that they moved due to their marriage, saying to InTouch Weekly that “getting out of Southern California only increases the incredible control Ellen has had over Portia for years, and Ellen clearly had a reason to want to increase that level of control.”

  • Tony Ferguson seemingly leaves UFC for new “ground-breaking” MMA league

Tony Ferguson, one of the most beloved fighters in MMA, has reportedly parted ways with the UFC to sign with the Global Fight League (GFL).

Ferguson was a dominant force in the UFC lightweight division, holding an interim title and achieving a historic 12-fight winning streak. However, in recent years, his form has declined. After an eight-fight losing streak, with his last defeat coming via submission against Michael Chiesa in August 2024, Ferguson has now decided to embark on a fresh journey.

Following the loss to Chiesa, Ferguson begrudgingly announced semi-retirement by dropping one glove. The gesture, according to him, marked a step towards reevaluating his career path.

GFL’s official Instagram account revealed the news, captioning the post:

The Global Fight League, set to officially launch in April 2025, promises a fighter-centric model with innovative features, including health insurance, retirement funds, and a 50% revenue share. The league has been actively signing MMA veterans like Tyron Woodley, Luke Rockhold, and Fabricio Werdum, assembling a roster of iconic fighters from various promotions.

Ferguson’s addition is one of the most significant signings for GFL. While Dana White and the UFC have yet to comment on Ferguson’s departure, the MMA community remains divided, with some fans excited for his new chapter and others questioning the move. ‘El Cucuy’ currently holds a 25-11 professional MMA record.

In a follow-up post on Instagram, GFL claims to have also signed former Bellator lightweight champion Patricky Freire.
