WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JAN. 20

    No lyrics today, y’all.

The incoming President of the United States of America made it one of his top priorities, on day one of his administration, to order the federal government to refuse to recognize me as the woman I am.

Nevermind the absurdity of focusing on a small minority of harmless (and mostly gorgeous) people at a time when the economy is shot, but the thing that they don’t understand is that trans folks have always been here, we are always GOING to be here, and we have never needed anyone’s permission to do so.

From the moment my eggshell broke on February 28, 2018 and I said the words “I am a woman” aloud for the first time, my entire existence was made clear in a heartbeat, every inch of what makes me ME, laid bare in ultimate understanding. It was as if the breath of life entered my body for the first time, truly animate rather than a puppet shell.

Before my social presentation changed, before hormones, before I got all my legal documents updated, before hair removal or surgery, before I so much as plucked a hair from my brow, my knowledge of myself was a game changer, and no mere words, no matter how much legal force they may or may not have, can take that away from me.

If anyone wishes to deny me the gender I fought so dearly for, they’ll have to come and take it.

    Death before detransition!

    On with the show!

The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.

Rhea Ripley is walking along when Nia Jax blindsides her and beats her down, about putting her through a chain link fence before referees and road agents swarm and general manager Adam Pearce calls for a medic!

Michael Cole introduces Wade Barrett as his commentary partner for tonight, with Pat McAfee busy elsewhere.

“Main Event” Jey Uso makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He talks about Saturday Night’s Main Event and his plans to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship—

    Enter GUNTHER.

He laughs off Jey’s plans to win the title and calls him a funny little man, and they both know that’s not how it’s gonna happen. Last week Jey looked him in the eye and said every day he bets on himself, and he believed him! He was excited for their match… until today, when he saw him walking in here pretending like their conversation never happened.

Acting like a complete dork, like a mascot, and now he reckons he might as well fight Jimmy. Jey never follows up with his words, and what, he bets on himself until his cousin calls for him? Until Sami or Jim or Cody needs him? All that makes him is a useful idiot and he doesn’t even realize it.

Uso’s words and actions do not align, but GUNTHER’s do, he claims, and he says on Saturday when the bell rings, he’s going to expose him as a flash in the pan with no business being that close to the world heavyweight championship.

Jey admits he’s right again, and yeah he’s the mascot… and the people in the crowd are his team, his squad, who ride and slide with him and they’ll be with him when he wins the title on Saturday. And, Uso points out, he’s main evented WrestleMania and GUNTHER never has.

The Ring General snaps and attacks and we get a nice back and forth brawl until Uso sends him to the floor with a superkick and holds the title high in the ring before laying it down and telling him to come and get it. GUNTHER gets up on the apron briefly before backing off and taking his title and leaving.

New Day are walking backstage and they’re excited to run into John “Bradshaw” Layfield, who no doubt understands them and he’s going to be on commentary for their match against Rey Mysterio. Kofi Kingston slides some money into his suit pocket and chuckles, saying “you like money” before asking if he’ll go out and make their case for them.

JBL says he gets it, Big E had all those muscles and charisma and everybody loved him and now that he’s gone they gotta pay attention to them right?! New Day’s countenances sour and they walk off disappointed, and Layfield asks if he gets to keep the two dollars.

Rey Mysterio makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Bayley is interviewed backstage.

She says the cat is out of the bag and she’s officially back on Raw. It feels good and it feels right, and she’s also declaring herself in the Royal Rumble, and since she won last year, going back-to-back feels pretty good. She talks about picking a champion to fight—

Nia Jax rolls up and speaks inaudibly for a beat before the mic kicks in and she says SHE’S going to win the Royal Rumble.

We see various ccwpokes in the front row.

New Day cut a promo in their entrance annoyed at their music playing, and Kofi says the crowd is starting to piss him off with all the booing. They’ve been doing this too long to be disrespected like this. They’re walking Hall of Famers, and he takes his money back from JBL.

    Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio

John “Bradshaw” Layfield is on commentary for this one.

Struggling over a standing switch, waistlock takedown from Kingston, riding Mysterio, Rey with an arm wringer, reversed, rolling through, headlock, shot off, shoulder block takes the legend off his feet! Off the ropes, Mysterio with a tijeras, drop toehold puts him on the second but Kofi ducks the 619!

Trading kicks in the corner, shoulder block from Rey, slingshot but Kingston blocks the powerbomb! Following after, Kofi hooks him, short powerbomb into stomps to the midsection! Another powerbomb attempt is reversed into a Frankensteiner that sends Kingston into the steel steps as we go to break!

Off the ropes, Rey cuts him off with a bulldog and both men are down and out! Up in the turnbuckles, jockeying for position, Mysterio with the diving seated senton, springboard crossbody follows but nobody’s home! Counter a sunset flip into a dropkick, cover for two!

Set up for the 619 but Xavier Woods trips Rey up and gets ejected by referee Chad Patton! Mysterio decks Woods but Kingston attacks from behind with a northern lariat! Victory roll sets him up, this time Rey hits the 619, slingshot splash… THE KNEES ARE UP BUT MYSTERIO KICKS OUT OF THE COVER!

    Rey counters the Boom Drop…

Rey Mysterio wins by pinfall with a pinning predicament.

Post-match, New Day go to put boots to Rey but Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro make the save!

New Day make like they’re gonna leave but they come back to do a hit-and-run on Wilde and throw him into the post!

We get a recap of Penta’s debut from last week.

Backstage, an interviewer is standing by while Chad Gable gets the rest of American Made hyped up.

He turns around and says he knows the whole wrestling world is talking about him and he knows it seems like he has a problem fighting luchadors, so he went to an intelligent man with a moustache to match— Dominik Mysterio is helping him out. Meanwhile he’s given the rest of the squad their marching orders, to go after their various titles.

Julius Creed says they’re gonna tke the tag titles away from a team at the end of their career and win them for themselves, just entering their prime.

Sami Zayn is shown walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Sami Zayn is in the ring and gets on the mic.

He’s not gonna beat around the bush, he spoke to Adam Pearce and he’s officially entered into the 2025 Royal Rumble. Last week Seth Rollins told him he spends too much time helping other people and that got him thinking about what he wants. About 14-year-old him, about the millions around the world that dream of being pro wrestlers, and the thousands that get to live that dream, and the very small group lucky enough to call themselves WWE Superstars.

And then the smallest group, the top tier of WWE, and that’s where he is now and he firmly believes that he’s every bit as good as the rest of those guys, and they’re all in the Royal Rumble. Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and the only difference between them is that they have world titles to their names but he doesn’t.

He’s had a great life, a great career, he doesn’t feel like he needs the world title to complete himself, and the support from the fans through the years means more than any world title ever could. So no, he doesn’t need the world title… BUT DAMNIT, HE WANTS IT! 14-year-old him wants it and he’s still with him, and that’s why he’s going to take the world title.

Enter Kevin Owens, carrying his purloined winged eagle WWE Championship.

Sami says he knew it was only a matter of time and asks Kevin how he wants to do this. Owens is confused and Zayn says the whole world saw what he did to Cody Rhodes, so how is this gonna go down? KO admits he didn’t understand Sami with Roman Reigns at Survivor Series but then he thought about it and he realized it was different.

Sami and Roman have a lot of history, much like they do, and Zayn has overlooked a lot of things Reigns has done to him, same as he’s forgiven Owens for similar trespasses. That’s what Sami does, because he’s a good person. And Seth is right, Zayn does a lot for his friends, and that’s why he’s here as his very best friend.

He believes that Sami Zayn can and will win the Royal Rumble, because he deserves to win the Royal Rumble and go on to fight for the WWE Championship. And then they can accomplish one more thing together, to accomplish what they dreamed of 25 years ago. They won the tag titles in the main event of WrestleMania, and now they can do it one-on-one for the title.

And he knows Zayn will win the Royal Rumble because he has his back, and he knows that he’s going to walk out as WWE Champion, because he knows Sami will have his back, because he’s his best friend and his brother and if he needs him he’ll be there.

    Sheamus is interviewed backstage.

He says some people would say he has the perfect WWE career backwards, because he beat John Cena about six months in, but the Intercontinental Championship is the first title that drew him to WWE as a kid and he’s been obsessed with it for the last five years, but now the stars are aligned and he’s going to fulfill his destiny.

Bron Breakker rolls up and tells Sheamus to look at the title. He says this is as close as he’ll ever get to the title, because on Saturday he’s going to breakk him like an old man, so do a favor and retire.

Sheamus does not, in fact, retire, and instead shoves Bron away.

Bayley and Nia Jax are show walking backstage separately to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a memorial graphic for WWE Hall of Famer Bob Uecker.

    Bayley vs. Nia Jax

Jax immediately hossing her up, around, Bayley counters into a DDT! Off the ropes, Nia with a huge headbutt, cover for one! Back suplex gets the Role Model another nearfall, Jax fires back with a Rock Bottom and goes up top, but Bayley climbs to cut her off! Kicks send Nia to the floor, Bayley dives on her and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Jax gets a nearfall off a Samoan drop, Bayley a nearfall of her own in return, to the floor, sunset flip puts Nia into the post and leaves her insensate on the floor while referee Danilo Anfibio counts! She beats the count, Bayley hits a Banzai Drop for two, follows it with a diving elbow, still not enough!

Nia with a shoulderbreaker and she follows it up with a corner body avalanche! Bayley sidesteps her through the ropes, Jax cuts her off with an elbow and posts her hard by the shoulder! Nia up top, Bayley trips her up, Knee Trembler… NOPE! Jockeying for position in the turnbuckles… BAYLEY HITS THE SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMB BUT JAX KICKS OUT!

Role Model off the top… ELBOW DROP ISN’T ENOUGH! Bayley with a chop block, Nia with a Samoan drop and a senton, dragging her into the corner…

Nia Jax wins by pinfall with the Banzai Drop.

  • Seth Meyers, Amber Ruffin joke that Donald Trump causes panic naps

Seth Meyers joked about President-elect Donald Trump on his show as usual Tuesday, but it wasn’t a regular night.

He and comedian Amber Ruffin, a writer on Late Night with Seth Meyers, did a bit on the concept of “panic naps,” in which stressful ideas induce sleep. Meyers asked if the stress of Trump winning the election was an example, and Ruffin immediately began to snooze.

“Seth, I had the craziest dream,” she said when she “woke.” “Trump got reelected.”

“Yeah, it was real,” Meyers replied, then had to raise his voice to wake her again, “Amber!… Trump won and you have to deal with it.”

Ruffin woke, “You mean, we have to write jokes about this man for four more years?” which sent Meyers dozing.

Their conversation begins at 7:40 in the video below.

Their banter came just hours after Trump slammed the show and threatened NBC’s parent company, Comcast, in a 1:24 a.m. rant on his Truth Social platform.

“How bad is Seth Meyers on NBC, a ‘network’ run by a truly bad group of people – Remember, they also run MSDNC,” Trump wrote. “I got stuck watching Marble Mouth Meyers the other night, the first time in months, and every time I watch this moron I feel an obligation to say how dumb and untalented he is, merely a slot filler for the Scum that runs Comcast. These guys should be paying a lot of money for the right to give these ‘in kind’ contributions to the Radical Left Democrat Party. These are not shows or entertainment, they are simply political hits, 100% of the time, to me and the Republican Party. Comcast should pay a BIG price for this!”

Sign up for Entertainment Weekly‘s free daily newsletter to get breaking TV news, exclusive first looks, recaps, reviews, interviews with your favorite stars, and more.

NBC and Seth Meyers did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment on the post.

Trump’s relationship with the show greatly differs from that of current President Joe Biden, who visited the show in February to eat ice cream, “sending the nation into a full-blown Constitutional crisis,” Meyers reflected in the “A Closer Lick” segment on his Feb. 28, 2024, show.

“Shame on me for forgetting the first rule of comedy: When the Middle East comes up, put your ice cream down,” Meyers observed. “Never before in my life has the Curb Your Enthusiasm music been louder in my head than during this moment.”

Seth Meyers and Amber Ruffin hilariously joke that Donald Trump causes panic naps

Late night comedians Seth Meyers and Amber Ruffin recently teamed up to discuss the latest antics of former President Donald Trump, and the result was pure comedic gold. During a segment on Meyers’ show, Ruffin quipped that Trump’s constant chaos and outrageous behavior have led to a new phenomenon: panic naps.

Ruffin joked that every time Trump tweets something ridiculous or makes a headline for his latest controversial statement, people everywhere are suddenly overcome with the need to take a nap to escape the stress and chaos. Meyers chimed in with his own observations, noting that Trump’s presidency was so exhausting and anxiety-inducing that many Americans started using napping as a coping mechanism.

The duo’s banter was not only hilarious but also a clever way to highlight the absurdity of Trump’s time in office and the impact it had on the mental health of so many people. Their ability to find humor in even the most stressful situations is a testament to their comedic talent and their ability to connect with audiences on a deeper level.

So next time you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by the latest political news, just remember that a panic nap might be just the thing you need to recharge and face the world with a fresh perspective. And who knows, maybe Seth Meyers and Amber Ruffin will have a new joke waiting for you when you wake up.

  • Trump Threatens Comcast After Seth Meyers Makes Jokes About Him

The president-elect claims to support free speech but frequently refers to the media as “enemies” of the US.

Earlier this week, president-elect Donald Trump continued his attacks on the media, directing his ire at comedian Seth Meyers after the NBC late-night host made jokes at Trump’s expense.

Trump’s response to the jokes — and subsequent threats against the company that owns the network itself — are the latest indication that he may aim to quell dissent and First Amendment speech freedoms when he enters the White House next week.

After Meyers blasted the president-elect during a regular segment on his program called “Closer Look,” Trump took to his Truth Social account on Tuesday morning, deriding Meyers for being a “bad” comedian and calling him a “moron” and “untalented.”

During the segment, Meyers stated that little is known about what Trump has planned for his second term “given that he has no fixed principles or core beliefs or coherent ideas or constructive solutions or plans or proposals or policies or values or thoughts of any kind.”

Trump “watches TV and then he scream-posts about what he just saw on TV,” Meyers explained, adding that he views the president-elect as “an intellectual Roomba…[that] goes in one direction until he bumps into something and then he just goes off into another direction.”

Trump complained that the commentary amounted to an in-kind donation to Democrats — even though Meyers was only referring to Trump, and didn’t say anything positive about the Democratic party.

“These are not shows or entertainment, they are simply political hits, 100% of the time, to me and the Republican Party,” Trump said.

Trump also proposed that Comcast, the company that owns NBCUniversal, should “pay a BIG price for this!”

Trump, who claims he’s for a free press, has frequently derided the media as the “enemy of the people,” attacking them for accurately reporting on his foibles and policy positions. He has called for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to take away “licenses” from media outlets that fact check his lies, for example.

Trump has also encouraged violence against members of the media. At a rally during his 2024 campaign, he downplayed what he thought was a man attacking news reporters, telling his followers that the individual was “on our side” as they were booing him. At another rally, he pointed out that a would-be assassin would “have to shoot through” reporters in order to reach him. “I don’t mind that so much,” he added.

While Meyers and other late-night comedians continue to showcase Trump’s views to a mass audience, news media are starting to capitulate to the president-elect. (Recently, for example, ABC News agreed to a settlement in a lawsuit Trump made against them instead of challenging his dubious legal arguments, demonstrating that his attacks are seemingly working.)

“This will be a prime MO of the second Trump administration,” The Nation’s Chris Lehmann said in a recent interview with Democracy Now. “And it’s very worrisome that even before Trump takes office, [news networks are], without cause, giving in. It sends a very distressing signal.”

Defying Trump’s right-wing agenda from Day One

Inauguration Day is coming up soon, and at Truthout, we plan to defy Trump’s right-wing agenda from Day One.

Looking to the first year of Trump’s presidency, we know that the most vulnerable among us will be harmed. Militarized policing in U.S. cities and at the borders will intensify. The climate crisis will deteriorate further. The erosion of free speech has already begun, and we anticipate more attacks on journalism.

It will be a terrifying four years to produce social justice-driven journalism. But we’re not falling to despair, because we know there are reasons to believe in our collective power.

The stories we publish at Truthout are part of the antidote to creeping authoritarianism. And this year, we promise we will kick into an even higher gear to give you truthful news that cuts against the disinformation, vitriol, hate and violence. We promise to publish analyses that will serve the needs of the movements we all rely on to survive the next four years, and even build for the future. We promise to be responsive, to recognize you as members of our community with a vital stake and voice in this work.

Please show your support for Truthout with a tax-deductible donation (either once today or on a monthly basis).

In a recent turn of events, President Trump has threatened Comcast after late-night host Seth Meyers made jokes about him on his show. The President took to Twitter to express his displeasure, stating that Comcast should “do something” about Meyers’ “unfunny and biased” jokes.

This threat comes amidst a growing trend of President Trump lashing out at media outlets and personalities who criticize him. This is not the first time Trump has targeted Comcast, as he has previously criticized the company for its coverage of him.

Many have condemned the President’s threats, citing concerns about freedom of speech and the independence of the media. Others have defended Trump, arguing that he has the right to call out what he perceives as unfair treatment.

It remains to be seen how Comcast will respond to the President’s remarks, but one thing is clear: tensions between the White House and the media continue to escalate. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

  • Joe Alwyn Makes His First Late-Night Talk Show Appearance with Seth Meyers

Joe Alwyn just reached a new career milestone.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the actor, 33, made his first-ever appearance on a late-night talk showLate Night with Seth Meyers, to promote his latest film, The Brutalist.

The film, directed by Brady Corbet, centers on Hungarian Jewish architect László Tót (Adrien Brody), who survives the Holocaust and sets out to America to rebuild his life.

    A24

Things turn south after a wealthy family led by prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce) commissions him for a job. Alwyn plays his son, Harry Lee Van Buren.

He and Seth Meyers had a hilarious exchange as the two discussed Alwyn’s character.

“The story is about a Hungarian immigrant, who Adrien plays, who flees to America after the war. And he’s taken in by this big American aristocratic family who commissioned him for a job to build a monument, and things go south,” the Kinds of Kindness actor explained. “And I play Harry, who’s the son of this family.”

“And he’s there to oversee parts of the commission, and he’s, yeah, he’s slimy and entitled and a bit of a menace and has some daddy issues, and, so, yeah, they came to me,” Alwyn continued with a smile.

After Meyers, 51, laughed, he praised Alwyn’s performance and pointed out that it was his first appearance on a late-night talk show. “How are you feeling so far?” he asked.

“Awful,” responded Alwyn, causing the audience to laugh. He then paused and smiled before telling Meyers, “No, it’s great. I’m joking.”

While Alwyn may have appeared nervous, his fans reacted positively to his late-night talk show debut in the comment section.

The Brutalist comes after Alwyn appeared in Kinds of Kindness, which hit theaters in June 2024.

A year after his breakup with Taylor Swift after six years of dating, a source told PEOPLE that Alwyn was “doing well” and was “focused on work,” splitting his time between “London and NYC.”

Speaking about how he deals with being in the spotlight, he told The Guardian in an interview published earlier this month that he tries to “focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course.”

“So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it,” he told the outlet. “If you don’t, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behavior, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty f——.”

The Brutalist is in select theaters now.

Joe Alwyn, the talented actor known for his roles in films like “The Favourite” and “Mary Queen of Scots,” made his first late-night talk show appearance last night on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

During his interview with Meyers, Alwyn discussed his latest projects, including his upcoming film “The Souvenir” and his role in the highly anticipated TV series “A Very English Scandal.”

Alwyn also touched on his experiences working with acclaimed directors like Yorgos Lanthimos and Josie Rourke, and shared some behind-the-scenes stories from the set.

Fans of the actor were thrilled to see him on the late-night stage, and many took to social media to express their excitement and support for his burgeoning career.

It’s clear that Joe Alwyn is a rising star in Hollywood, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

  • Tommy Dreamer Comments On CM Punk And Seth Rollins WWE Raw Segment

Tommy Dreamer Comments On CM Punk And Seth Rollins WWE Raw Segment

A segment between CM Punk and Seth Rollins closed “WWE Raw’s” final episode on USA, setting up their next match for the main event of the show’s first episode on Netflix. The exchange got a lot of traction online, with many fans hyped up for the long-awaited clash. Tommy Dreamer has since analyzed the segment, and what he believes each man’s side is on “Busted Open After Dark.”

Dreamer looked back at the poll they set up for their listeners, who all seemed to back Punk, which he found shocking since he believes Rollins was dropping a lot of truth bombs in his promo. “It’s a very ‘what have you done for me lately.’ There’s so much to get into with CM Punk and leaving, and yes, some people can still harbor a grudge towards that,” he said, noting how after he left WWE, Punk blasted the company for years while Rollins has been trying to build the company up during the same time.

The veteran further noted how the segment retold the shared history between Punk and Rollins, and how the two men seemed to have a retort for nearly everything the other one had to say. “I can’t even say ‘blurring the lines,’ because if you ask me, these two guys don’t like each other,” Dreamer opined. Additionally, he noted how Punk again emphasized making money, and that their main event during next week’s “Raw” will end up making a lot of money.

Tommy Dreamer believes that CM Punk feels like he was stabbed in the back

Dreamer then explained that he sees merit in both Rollins and Punk’s sides, but specifically leaned into the “Second City Saint’s” story. “What CM Punk feels is there are a lot of people who did stab him in the back, and also CM Punk said ‘Hey, I had to go,’ and I get that,” he explained.

Additionally, with “Raw’s” move to Netflix, Nielsen ratings won’t factor into success metrics anymore, but Dreamer still believes the episode will do a monster number, also due to the main event between Punk and Rollins. When analyzing Rollins’ promo, Dreamer noted how the star has far more to pull out of Punk’s past to criticize than the present, since the veteran has been doing things by the book since returning to WWE.

He then noted how much more important it is for a person to become a better person despite their past, and suggested that this is what Punk has done. “For CM Punk, this is all about change, retribution, and Seth Rollins, man, he does have his own gripe,” he explained. “There is no truth here, this is two sides to every story and whose side you’re gonna get on.”

WWE Raw results, live recap, grades: CM Punk and Seth Rollins end the USA Network era with an intense promo

For most of WWE Raw’s existence, the show has aired on USA Network, with only brief breaks where the show moved to a new network. Monday marked not only the end of Raw’s current USA Network era, but the end of the show airing on cable television, with Raw moving to Netflix on Jan. 6.

While much of Monday night was spend building to the move to Netflix, the final segment brought some serious heat. In that segment, CM Punk and Seth Rollins came face-to-face to trade a final verbal volley before they face off in a match next Monday night. Both men delivered intense work on the microphone that made their upcoming match feel bigger — and more personal — than ever.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Toyota Center in Houston.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins end Raw’s USA Network era with a heated confrontation

The final segment for WWE Raw’s time on USA Network featured Seth Rollins and CM Punk coming together for a face-to-face before they meet in a match on the show’s Netflix debut on Jan. 6. Both men took deep, impactful shots at the other. Rollins focused on Punk’s decision to leave WWE in 2014, claiming Punk had “taken his ball and gone home.” Punk fired back by saying he loved where he worked but hated the guy in charge (the now-disgraced Vince McMahon) and did what he had to do while Rollins sat around being a corporate stooge. The insults intensified with Punk claiming he would come to Raw’s Netflix debut with all the arrows that had been shot in his back and ram them down Rollins’ throat. Rollins responded by saying he would bring his eyes of fire and burn Punk to the ground, forcing him into another retirement, though not one of his own choosing.

To be honest, the final Raw on USA Network largely felt like the promotion doing little more than building up and promoting the move to Netflix. While much of the show felt like sleepwalking until next Monday, Rollins and Punk delivered in a huge way once they had the microphones in their hands. Both men threw daggers that were legitimate in their intention and that made everything feel more legitimate than most promos that take place within WWE. In that way, Raw’s USA Network era came to a successful and memorable conclusion. Grade: A

What else happened on WWE Raw?

    • New Day opened the show with an attempt to cut a promo but the fans loudly booed whenever they attempted to speak. Eventually, Jey Uso came to the ring and told the fans to let New Day talk to see what they were trying to say. The fans did not play along and eventually Uso said he agreed and that “New Day sucks.” Later, Rey Mysterio and the LWO confronted New Day and challenged them to a match.
    • Drew McIntyre attacked Jey Uso after Uso spoke. Uso took the microphone after New Day left the ring, addressing both Drew McIntyre and Solo Sikoa. Sikoa eventually interrupted on the Tron, promising to beat Roman Reigns on Raw’s Netflix debut. This eventually led to McIntyre attacking Uso from behind before delivering a Claymore after WWE officials attempted to stop the attack. Later in the show, Adam Pearce told Uso that he could have a match with McIntyre next Monday.
    • Chad Gable def. Otis via submission with an ankle lock. Ivy Nile interfered late and the distraction allowed Gable to lock up the submission hold and force Otis to tap.
    • Pete Dunne attacked R-Truth during R-Truth’s entrance. After laying Truth out, Dunne kept yelling, “I’m nobody’s Butch.”
    • Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament Semifinal — Dakota Kai def. Zoey Stark via pinfall after a Detonation Kick to advance to the finals.
    • War Raiders & Damian Priest def. Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio) via pinfall after Priest hit Mysterio with South of Heaven. After the match, Judgment Day attacked Priest, with Balor focusing on his knee until War Raiders rushed the ring to stop the attack.
    • Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament Semifinal — Lyra Valkyria def. Iyo Sky via pinfall with a bridging pin reversal to advance to the finals against Dakota Kai.
