Stella Banderas shelters mom Melanie Griffith after LA Fires, reports Antonio Banderas
Stella Banderas is supporting her family in a difficult time. The daughter of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith has opened her doors to her mother and her family following the devastation of the Los Angeles fires, which have burnt through large portions of the county and destroyed many homes.
Antonio Banderas shared the news in a new interview, revealing that he’d been in constant communication with his daughter and that she opened her doors to Melanie and her grandmother Tippi Hedren, the legendary Hollywood actress known for her work with Alfred Hitchcock.
“I talk all the time with my daughter Stella,” he said to PEOPLE.
“I continue doing it and I know everybody’s fine. I know that Melanie was at some point, the whole entire area where she lives, they got the evacuation. And so her, my ex-mother-in-law, some friends of my daughter, they were all living with my daughter because she was in an area that was not [affected].”
Banderas also provided the whereabouts of his other family members, including Dakota Johnson, his former stepdaughter. “With Dakota, I think she was out of Los Angeles,” he said.
Banderas and Griffith were married for years. They share one daughter, with Banderas having a positive relationship with Griffith’s kids: Dakota and Alexander Bauer.
Banderas shared details of his daughter’s experience with the fires
Banderas also revealed some of the experiences that his daughter relayed, painting a terrifying picture of the situation that occurred in Los Angeles.
“My daughter was telling me, ‘Oh, Papi, I never experienced winds like this in Los Angeles. It was unbelievable, and it was very difficult to stop. We were seeing embers that were just flying miles and falling into another neighborhood,’” he said.
“So if you are not looking at the sky entire time, you can find the surprise that your house is just burning from the roof. So all of these things were happening all at the same time. . . It’s very difficult.”

TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — Emergency shelters are working together to keep people warm, but with these shelters currently hosting more people, they’re in need of donations.
“The other shelters around, we communicate with them and collaborate with them in order to help as many people as we can safely and efficiently,” said Ryan McCullough, the Director of Guest Services at the John 3:16 Mission Downtown shelter location.
A collaboration between multiple organizations in Tulsa to help keep residents warm as another round of freezing weather hits the state.
“If it feels like 32 or colder, our warming station immediately goes into activation,” said McCullough.
One of those organizations is John 3:16 Mission, a nonprofit that opened a warming station in their downtown emergency shelter.
“They’re out in the cold, they need somewhere to come to warm up for a little while and be safe. They can come here and that’s available 24-7,” said McCullough.
Another warming station is at Tulsa Day Center.
CEO of the center, Mack Haltom says that, unlike the last cold snap, there aren’t any overflow shelters, so people will have to rely entirely on the emergency shelters for overnight warmth.
“We’re going to really have to hopefully make room with as many people as we can to get them inside during the day and during our night shelter, and I know the other shelters will be having the same kind of issues,” said Haltom.
The other shelters that are opening their doors include the Salvation Army Center of Hope and Youth Services of Tulsa.
“With the increased numbers, I think, of course, increased needs that we need for the Tulsa Day Center, keeping our building open, the costs of utilities, and the supplies we need to help people take care of people,” said Haltom.
Haltom says people can help them by donating warm clothing, and they are also taking financial donations to keep the building open and heated.
John 3:16 Mission is asking for towels and scrubs, hand warmers, emergency blankets, gloves, and socks, and just like Tulsa Day Center, they’re also taking monetary donations.
Information on the open emergency shelters and warming stations can be found on the Housing Solutions Tulsa website.
You can donate by going to the John 3:16 mission website or the Tulsa Day Center website or you can bring item donations to those locations.
As the temperature drops, Tulsa shelters are seeing an increase in the number of guests seeking refuge from the cold. With this rise in guests, shelters are in need of clothing donations to help keep those in need warm during the winter months. Many shelters are also in need of monetary donations to help cover the costs of providing shelter, food, and other essential services to those experiencing homelessness. By donating money, you can help ensure that shelters have the resources they need to support those in need.
If you have gently used clothing or monetary donations to spare, please consider donating to a Tulsa shelter near you. Your generosity can make a big difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness this winter. Let’s come together as a community to support those in need during this challenging time.

Cold weather shelters open across Central Florida
Cold weather shelters open across Central Florida
ALL RIGHT TONY THANK YOU. NOW, AS HE JUST SHOWED US LOWS EXPECTED IN THE 30S AND 40S, THIS WEEK MEANS EMERGENCY SHELTERS ARE OPENING THEIR DOORS. WESH 2’S HAYLEY CROMBLEHOLME IS AT MATTHEW’S HOPE MINISTRIES IN WINTER GARDEN. AND HALEY, IT’S BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE THEY’VE HAD TO OPEN SO MANY DAYS IN A ROW. YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT, THEY SPENT TODAY PICKING UP SOME PEOPLE IN THE COUNTY ON BUSSES LIKE THIS ONE, AND THEY BROUGHT THEM HERE TO WINTER GARDEN, WHERE THEY’VE SET UP AN EMERGENCY SHELTER. NOW, MATTHEW’S HOPE WAS FOUNDED ABOUT MORE THAN A DECADE AGO DURING A COLD SNAP LIKE THIS ONE. AND THEY SAY IT’S PROBABLY BEEN THAT LONG SINCE THEY’VE OPENED UP THIS MANY DAYS STRAIGHT. THEY’RE RIGHT NOW PREPARING TO BE OPEN AT LEAST THROUGH THURSDAY. MATTHEW’S HOPE MINISTRIES GOT READY MONDAY NIGHT FOR ANOTHER EVENING OF OPENING THEIR EMERGENCY SHELTER. IT’S QUITE COLD OUT THERE RIGHT NOW, JAMES EVANS WOULD DESCRIBE HIS HOUSING SITUATION AS POOR. POOR. FOR NOW, HE OPTED TO STAY AT THE SHELTER MONDAY NIGHT. I APPRECIATE MATTHEW DOING THIS FOR ME WITH HOT MEALS AND A WARM PLACE TO SLEEP. IT’S JUST LIKE IT’S BEING AT HOME AND THE MINISTRY WILL BE HOME FOR SOME FOR SEVERAL DAYS, WITH TEMPERATURES DIPPING DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS WEEK. WE WERE OPEN LAST NIGHT BECAUSE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DIP PRETTY LOW EARLY THIS MORNING, AND RIGHT NOW WE’RE WE KNOW WE’LL BE OPEN AT LEAST THROUGH THURSDAY AND POTENTIALLY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. KIM THOMPSON SAYS THE MINISTRY WAS FOUNDED DURING A COLD SNAP LIKE THIS ONE, ROUGHLY 15 YEARS AGO. PROBABLY BEEN THAT LONG SINCE WE’VE HAD THIS LONG OF A STRETCH AS A SHELTER. SUNDAY NIGHT, SHE SAYS, ONLY A FEW PEOPLE SHOWED UP, BUT WITH EACH COLD NIGHT THAT PASSES, SHE’S EXPECTING MORE. NORMALLY ON THE FIRST NIGHT, YOU KNOW, IF IT’S SUPER COLD, PEOPLE CAN KIND OF WITHSTAND IT. BUT BY THE SECOND OR THIRD NIGHT, YOUR YOUR BODY, YOU NEED TO BE WARM. SO I WOULD THINK BY TOMORROW NIGHT OR THE NEXT NIGHT, WE, WE COULD HAVE SEE SOME MUCH HIGHER NUMBERS. SHE SAYS THAT COULD BE AS MANY AS 50 OR 60 PEOPLE. IF YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU KNOW, JUST BEING COLD ONE NIGHT DOES TO YOUR BODY. I MEAN, YOU’RE YOU’RE OUT IN THE ELEMENTS AND IT’S DEVASTATING. SHE SAYS IF THERE’S A FEELS-LIKE TEMPERATURE SUSTAINED IN THE 30S, THEY OPEN THEIR DOORS. SO WE JUST REALLY FEEL LIKE THIS IS A TIME WHERE EVEN JUST AS A COMMUNITY AND THIS IS WHAT WE, YOU KNOW, WE DO. WE HAVE TO HAVE A SAFE, WARM PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO COME DURING THIS WEATHER. AND MATTHEW’S HOPE MINISTRIES DOES HAVE A LOCATION IN BREVARD COUNTY. THEY OPENED AN EMERGENCY SHELTER AS WELL. AND LIKE I SAID, HERE IN WINTER GARDEN, THEY ARE PLANNING ON BEING OPEN UNTIL THURSDAY. BUT IT COULD BE LONGER DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER. FOR NOW, COVERING ORANGE COUNTY. LI
