Sylvester Stallone takes to social media and seemingly reveals that, at the very least, pre-production on Season 3 of Tulsa King has officially begun. Back in November, sources told Deadline that the Paramount+ crime dramedy was being renewed for not one, but two more seasons. And now it seems that Stallone has confirmed at least one more go-round for the gritty General, Dwight Manfredi. Sly’s actual statement, as he wrote it on his Instagram account, reads as follows (below):
Well, it is time to get ready for NEXT SEASON ON TULSA KING… Go Team Go!
Stallone will also be receiving a hefty pay raise, although the amount was not disclosed. By comparison, though, the A-list actor made $750,000 per episode for his work on Season 1 and $1.5 million for each installment of Season 2. And it shouldn’t be a surprise if Stallone’s social media post is, in fact, teasing the beginning of production on another season of the streaming series. Tulsa King Season 2 became one of Paramount+’s biggest originals domestically, with the show having reached a jaw-dropping 13.6 million homes worldwide, per another report published by Deadline.
The only other two original programs to have more success domestically are the Yellowstone spin-off, 1923, and Season 1 of Tulsa King. Season 2 also significantly stimulated online activity surrounding the Paramount+ show’s success, according to the same report, which resulted in 159 million views and 6.1 million social media engagements. Those incredible numbers represented a marked increase over Season 1 with an upward tick of 894% for views and 553% where engagements were concerned.
Another ‘Tulsa King’ Star Teases Season 3
Yes, it seems that Sylvester Stallone has indeed confirmed previous reports that Tulsa King will be renewed following the incredible performance of the show’s sophomore season. But Sly isn’t the only actor who stars in the Paramount+ crime dramedy to tease the future of the series. Frank Grillo, who portrays baddie Bill Bevilaqua, was talking about the third season even before the Season 2 finale. Grillo said in an interview with Collider:
“Sly has been on my bucket list. He was an influence on me becoming an actor, and then we became pals before Tulsa King. To work with him and to stand across from Stallone and do nine-page scenes and him call me and ask me for my opinion, I’ve come full circle. It’s amazing. And it looks like we’re going to go do Season 3.”

‘Tulsa King’ Isn’t Nearly as Gritty as Stallone’s ’70s Gangster Movie
Tulsa King isn’t Sylvester Stallone’s only notable gangster-related production. He once starred in a popular ’70s gangster movie.
Season 1 and Season 2 of creator Taylor Sheridan’s record-breaking Tulsa King are now available to stream and/or binge-watch on Paramount +. And given what happened to Dwight “The General” Manfredi during the cliffhanging conclusion back on Nov. 17 — no spoilers here — those astronomical Season 2 numbers might be broken.
It certainly seems logical to assume that the already-established fandom will tune in for what will hopefully be just the next of many more misadventures for the cunning New Yorker-turned-Oklahoma gangster. And who knows how many enthusiasts will jump on the Tulsa King bandwagon moving forward? After all, the show’s second season registers a perfect 100% on the Tomatometer, albeit only against five reviews posted on Rotten Tomatoes, at the time of this writing.
