As the Michigan Wolverines’ 137-page document response to the NCAA’s notice of sign-stealing allegations and other violations comes to light, one Big Ten coach took the opportunity to take a shot at former Wolverines—and current Los Angeles Chargers—coach Jim Harbaugh.
As the document makes clear, the Wolverines are prepared to drop the gloves and take on the NCAA, but one Big Ten coach, Bret Bielema of the Illinois Fighting Illini, couldn’t help but point out that Harbaugh, who was the Wolverines’ coach when the alleged sign-stealing occurred, isn’t currently with his alma mater to join the fight.
Bielema took to X (formerly Twitter) and, using Harbaugh’s own words against him, fired a shot at the Chargers coach.
Harbaugh, hired by Michigan in December of 2014, went on to post an 89-25 record while winning one national championship in nine seasons in Ann Arbor. But the Wolverines’ title-winning season in ’23 was mired in controversy from the start.
Harbaugh found himself in hot water with the NCAA when Michigan received a notice of allegations in January of ’23, stating that the program had violated NCAA rules by making contacts with recruits during a mandated dead period, and also that Harbaugh himself lied or misled the NCAA about said allegations, a more serious offense in the eyes of the association.
Bielema seemed to reference Harbaugh’s alleged misstep in another post on X.
Michigan in August of ’23 suspended Harbaugh for three games after he and the NCAA failed to come to a resolution—a four-game suspension—in the infractions case.
But the trouble was only beginning for the Wolverines. As Harbaugh returned to the sidelines and Michigan continued to win on the field, the NCAA in October of ’23 notified the Big Ten and the Wolverines that it had received allegations the program was involved in a sign-stealing scheme.
Wolverines former off-field analyst Connor Stalions was believed to be at the center of the elaborate scheme, which included a significant paper trail. Stalions later resigned.
As investigations into the sign-stealing commenced and continued, Big Ten coaches expressed frustration with the process. The Big Ten in November of ’23 suspended Harbaugh for three games.
After ultimately winning the national title, Harbaugh, seeing the writing on the wall, departed for the NFL and was hired by the Chargers in January of 2024. Later that year, the NCAA in August of ’24 handed Harbaugh a four-year show cause penalty for the recruiting infractions, which effectively banned him from college athletics until August of 2028.
Bret Bielema, head coach of the Illinois Fighting Illini, recently took a massive shot at Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh as the Wolverines prepare for a potential NCAA investigation. In a press conference, Bielema did not hold back in his criticism of Harbaugh, questioning his coaching abilities and ethics. Bielema suggested that Harbaugh’s aggressive recruiting tactics may have crossed the line, leading to potential violations.
As Michigan braces for a potential NCAA fight, Bielema’s comments add fuel to the fire and set the stage for a heated rivalry between the two coaches. Stay tuned as this story continues to unfold.

Vinessa Vidotto Reacts to Vo Being Shot, Previews Midseason Premiere
When FBI: International headed into its midseason break, it did so with the fate of one of the Fly Team very much up in the air: Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) was shot in the pursuit of Csonka (Beau Knapp), the man responsible for Wes’ (Jesse Lee Soffer) partner’s death.
“It was shocking, but I guess it was Vo’s turn because the past four years everybody has kind of been shot. Smitty [Eva-Jane Willis] got shot, Heida [Reed, who played Kellett] was shot. So yeah, I was like, I guess it’s my turn,” Vidotto tells TV Insider with a laugh. “It was shocking, but the script was so delicious and prior to me getting shot, I was able to do really delicious scenes that I was able to take my time with. So yeah, I loved [Episode] 8 a lot.”
Vidotto raves about an earlier scene in that episode (written by Edgar Castillo) in which Vo faces off with Csonka during a meeting while he’s still behind bars; he escaped during a prisoner transport after a deal was made due to evidence that had been uncovered during the trial.
“Those were scenes that I was excited to wake up and go to work and do. There is a certain limit where you don’t want to keep doing the take over and over again. It’s just killing the actor. But I didn’t mind,” shares Vidotto. “I was like, I could keep playing around with this. It just feels good and we were able to slow it down and the lines are so delicious. The story is delicious and I really got to show off Vo’s skill as an interrogator. That’s one of her breakdown points, that she’s good at interrogations, and I missed that. I think Season 2, there was one, [“Call It Anarchy”], written by Rachael Joyce, directed by Milena [Govich], and I had the lie detector kit and it was so fun to whip that out. When things are written well and the actor gets excited by it, that’s when it’s a good story and it’s a good scene and it’s not work. It’s just a joy to perform.”
Filming that shooting in the midseason finale was a first for Vidotto, who details the “technique, like a dance, a choreography,” to moments like that. “Your body has to move in the right way,” she explains, praising the stunt team. “I’ve done training in college, hand-to-hand combat, so there’s all that reaction and stuff, but never being shot. So I had to learn on the day. [The stunt coordinators] really helped me pop the shoulder and we did several takes and I had to learn that for TV, slow is fast, which means you can’t do it in real time or else the camera can’t catch your reaction of you being shot and taking that in. How do you embody that, but allow the camera to hold onto your face for a few seconds before you fall to the ground?”
The star explains she watched movie clips of people getting shot as well as a documentary of what it’s like to get shot. “There’s so many different reactions,” she says. “It can be immediately excruciating where it’s really hot and painful or people don’t know that they’ve been shot or stabbed just because of the adrenaline, just how their body is. I just took my own interpretation from learning those things. It was fun. I got to check that off my bucket list.”
Fans will have to wait until the midseason premiere on January 28 to learn Vo’s fate; Vidotto won’t even hint at what’s to come with her character. But the rest of the Fly Team will be busy trying to find Csonka.
“Csonka ends up fleeing to Paris and everybody’s trying to go after him,” teases Vidotto. “That is going to be an epic episode. I mean, a manhunt in Paris? That’s pretty awesome. And it’s almost like a three-parter: It was from Episode 1 to Episode 8 to Episode 9. You get to follow a really big story, and I like that.”
FBI: International, Midseason Premiere, Tuesday, January 28, 9/8c, CBS
Vinessa Vidotto, who plays Vo on the hit TV show “The Flash,” recently took to social media to share her reaction to Vo being shot in the midseason finale. The shocking cliffhanger left fans on the edge of their seats, wondering about Vo’s fate.In a heartfelt post, Vidotto expressed her gratitude for the incredible journey she has had playing Vo and teased what fans can expect from the upcoming midseason premiere. She promised that the episode will be filled with twists and turns, and that Vo’s storyline will take a surprising turn.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of “The Flash,” and Vidotto’s post has only heightened their anticipation. With Vo’s fate hanging in the balance, viewers are sure to be glued to their screens as they wait to see how the story unfolds.
Stay tuned for the midseason premiere of “The Flash” to see what happens to Vo and how Vidotto’s character will navigate the challenges ahead. It’s sure to be an episode you won’t want to miss! #VinessaVidotto #TheFlash #VoShot #MidseasonPremiere

The Los Angeles Lakers put up a strong night all around to defeat the Boston Celtics and record a fan-satisfying victory.
LA Lakers fans have endured some tough nights in 2024-25. The January 23 win over the Boston Celtics may have been one of the best.
Defeating the reigning champions saw the Lakers make a statement, and they did it with ease, holding the visitors to 96 points.
The 21-point win for the Lakers accurately reflected the Lakers’ dominance, maintaining their place in fifth spot in a competitive Western Conference.
JJ Redick on Dorian Finney-Smith
There were a few big scores on the Lakers, with Anthony Davis recording 24, Austin Reaves 23, and LeBron James 20.
One player who failed to register a single point was Dorian Finney-Smith, who ended up with 0, despite getting 20 minutes, amid a desire to play more after shaking off an ankle injury.
Finney Smith was 0-4 on the night including 0-2 from three point range.
JJ Redick admonished him in his post-game press conference, commenting: “Do’ hit two awful threes, it looked like he had never touched a basketball before.”
Redick was not unhappy with Finney-Smith, describing his overall performance as ‘awesome’.
Finney-Smith had four rebounds and two steals, doing a lot of the defensive work that helped limit Celtics stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Redick praised him, commenting: “Defensively and on the glass he was awesome. He would talk, he really lifts the team on that end so much.”
Finney-Smith’s defensive showing against the Wizards in the previous game was compared to Jarred Vanderbilt, who is on the verge of a return.
Redick pleased with Finney-Smith trade
The LA Lakers traded for Dorian Finney-Smith in late December, with JJ Redick acquiring one of his former teammates.
This helps explain his good connection to Finney-Smith, and why he is comfortable digging out his shooting publicly, knowing he will take it in the right way.
Finney-Smith is enjoying being on the Lakers, and they did not need him to score points against the Celtics.
He shot 16 against the Wizards in the previous game, including 4-6 from three, so he has proven he is capable.
Speaking further about the Lakers’ trade plans, Redick said the Lakers will continue to look to see what is available – but made clear he was pleased with the deal they did make.
“We were very fortunate we were able to execute and get someone like Dorian Finney-Smith on our team.”

JJ Redick, former NBA player and current basketball analyst, had some harsh words for a certain LA Lakers player after a recent game. In a post-game analysis, Redick said that the player’s 0-point performance was “like he had never touched a basketball before.”Redick, known for his sharp shooting and basketball IQ, didn’t hold back in his criticism of the player’s lackluster performance. He went on to say that the player’s shot looked “awkward” and “out of rhythm,” and that he seemed to be struggling to find his touch on the court.
While Redick didn’t name the player specifically, it’s clear that he was unimpressed with their performance. As a seasoned veteran of the game, Redick’s analysis carries weight and his comments are sure to raise eyebrows among Lakers fans and basketball enthusiasts alike.
It remains to be seen how the player will respond to Redick’s critique, but one thing is for certain – they’ll need to step up their game if they want to earn the respect of one of the game’s most respected analysts.
