  • Tony Finau and wife welcome their sixth child with a twist on the gender reveal

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Tony Finau put a twist on the popular gender reveal: He waited until after the baby was born to let his other children guess.

Finau revealed on Instagram that his wife, Alayna, gave birth to their sixth child last Saturday. His other five children apparently didn’t know the gender.

In the video, Finau brings them into the hospital room where his wife has the newborn wrapped in a blanket with only the face showing. Finau asked each of their children, one at a time, if they thought they had a little brother or a little sister.

“What are the guesses?” Finau asks.

Jraice, the oldest, said it was a boy. The next four — Tony, Neenee, Sage and Sienna-Vee — all said the same. Finau said the color of the newborn’s clothing would give the answer.

His wife unwrapped the blanket to reveal a pink onesie.

The 35-year-old Finau, a two-time Ryder Cup player with six career victories on the PGA Tour, is playing this week in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Tony Finau and wife welcome their sixth child with a surprise twist on the gender reveal

Professional golfer Tony Finau and his wife recently welcomed their sixth child into the world, and they decided to do things a little differently when it came to revealing the baby’s gender.

Instead of a traditional gender reveal party or announcement, the couple opted to keep the baby’s gender a secret until the moment of birth. They wanted to be surprised along with their family and friends, and it made the arrival of their little one even more special.

The Finau family is overjoyed with the newest addition to their family, and they are excited to welcome their new bundle of joy into their lives. Congratulations to Tony and his wife on their beautiful new baby!

Chock, 32, and Bates, 35, topped Friday’s rhythm dance and Saturday’s free dance for 223.52 total points.

Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko, silver medalists for a second consecutive year, were 12.73 points back.

U.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS: Results | Broadcast Schedule

Chock and Bates ascended to become the oldest world champions in ice dance in 2023, then repeated in 2024. At this March’s worlds in Boston, they can become the first couple to win three consecutive world titles in 28 years.

A U.S. Figure Skating committee selects the three dance couples for the world team after nationals. Carreira and Ponomarenko were 10th and seventh at the last two worlds.

Caroline Green and Michael Parsons edged Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik for third place at nationals by 1.2 points. Green and Parsons were sixth at the 2023 Worlds.

The Prevagen U.S. Championships continue later Saturday with the pairs’ free skate (8 ET, USA Network and Peacock).

  • Georgia finishes sixth in nation after CFP Quarterfinal loss

The final AP Poll of the season is out, and Georgia will finish 2024 ranked No. 6. After claiming the College Football Playoff National Championship last night with a win over Notre Dame, Ohio State comes in atop the rankings according to the 56 voters with the Irish just behind them at No. 2. Semifinalists Texas and Penn State are ranked No. 4 and No. 5 respectively with Oregon, which went unbeaten up until the Playoffs, sandwiched in between at No. 3.

Georgia’s ranking outside the top 5 is a first since 2020, hoisting the National Championship trophy on the final Monday night of the season in 2021 and 2022 before impressively dominating Florida State to finish as the first non-Playoff team in last year’s final AP Poll. Under Kirby Smart’s direction, the Bulldogs have finished outside the top-10 just once – 2016, Smart’s first season in Athens.

It’s now officially the offseason in College Football, which has been the case at Georgia for a few weeks now. UGA saw its season come to an end on January 2nd in New Orleans at the hands of Notre Dame. Gunner Stockton made his first career start in place of an injured Carson Beck, and the Bulldogs just couldn’t quite do enough around him to help. A pair of first half turnovers proved costly as Notre Dame scored its only offensive touchdown of the game when given the short field just before the halftime break. Then, when the Irish returned the opening kickoff for a 98-yard touchdown, Georgia found itself trailing by three scores, 20-3.

Stockton, who enters 2025 as the expected starter for Georgia, finished the game throwing for 234 yards and a 32-yard touchdown completion on 20-of-32 passing. The Bulldogs out-gained Notre Dame, but it was Riley Leonard (15-of-24, 90 passing yards, 1 touchdown, 14 attempts, 90 rushing yards) and the squad from South Bend that advanced to play Penn State in the Orange Bowl.

Since then, Georgia’s roster for next season has shaped up. Guys like Trevor Etienne, Tate Ratledge, Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker and Malaki Starks announced intentions to enter the NFL Draft. Carson Beck, after doing the same prior to the Sugar Bowl, surprisingly entered the transfer portal and decided on Miami as his next destination. He’s one of 12 players from this season’s team to do so.

It hasn’t been all bad news though for the Bulldogs. Georgia did get back the likes of Dillon Bell, Oscar Delp, Daylen Everette and Christen Miller – each of whom announced they would return for their fourth season in Athens. Transfer portal additions have included former five-star Zachariah Branch (USC), a proven SEC pass catcher Noah Thomas (Texas A&M) and an interesting trio of in the secondary (Zion Branch – USC, Jaden Harris – Miami, Adrian Maddox – UAB).

Georgia is considered to be a top-5 team by ESPN, Sporting News and Athlon Sports in each publication’s respective way-too-early preseason rankings for 2025 with a win total over/under set at 9.5 by FanDuel.

The Georgia Bulldogs put up a valiant fight in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals, but ultimately fell short against their opponents. Despite the tough loss, Georgia finishes the season strong, claiming the sixth spot in the nation. The team showcased their talent and determination throughout the season, earning them a well-deserved spot among the top teams in the country. Congratulations to the Bulldogs on a successful season and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish next year. Go Dawgs! #GeorgiaFootball #CFPQuarterfinals #TopSixFinish

  • NBA Sixth Man of The Year Has His High School Jersey Number Retired

Minnesota Timberwolves big man and NBA Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid got his high school jersey number retired in a ceremony Thursday evening at his alma mater.

Reid, a New Jersey native, graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 2018. He wore No. 5 for the Lions, which is now set in a banner on the gymnasium wall to never be worn again.

A majority of Reid’s Minnesota teammates came out to support him on his special night, as a euphoric crowd gathered to honor the local legendary hoops star.

Reid was a consensus 5-star recruit when he played for Roselle Catholic. He was ranked the best power forward in New Jersey and third-best at his position across the country.

In his senior season with the Lions, Reid averaged 14.8 points, 7.7 assists and 2.1 blocks per game. His performance on the court led to an invitation to the 2018 McDonald’s All-American Game.

Reid capped his senior campaign by assisting Roselle Catholic in beating Don Bosco Prep in the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions.

After playing a season of college basketball at LSU, Reid signed with the Timberwolves as an undrafted free agent.

Reid, who is currently in his sixth season with the T-Wolves, is averaging 13 points and 5.2 rebounds per game through 40 games.

Minnesota is coming off a 2023-24 campaign in which they made an NBA Western Conference Finals appearance. The team has a 21-19 record so far this season.

The NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Jamal Crawford, had his high school jersey number retired in a special ceremony this weekend. Crawford, who attended Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, wore the number 23 during his time on the basketball team.

The school honored Crawford for his outstanding achievements both on and off the court, as he went on to have a successful career in the NBA, winning the Sixth Man of the Year award a record three times.

Crawford expressed his gratitude for the honor, saying, “This is truly a special moment for me. Rainier Beach will always hold a special place in my heart, and to have my jersey number retired here is a dream come true.”

Fans and former teammates were in attendance to celebrate Crawford’s accomplishments and show their support for him. The school also unveiled a plaque in his honor, commemorating his time at Rainier Beach and his contributions to the basketball program.

Congratulations to Jamal Crawford on this well-deserved recognition!

  • Sixth movie to mark 25th anniversary in May

It’s been 14 years since the last one

Author: Amy ShephardPublished 15th Jan 2025

We can hardly believe it’s been 25 years since the first Final Destination movie was released —and now fans of the gory franchise will be thrilled to hear we’re getting a sixth instalment this year!

After Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein told their Instagram followers filming was underway in early 2024, it’s now been revealed it’ll hit cinemas on 16th May 2025. But what’s this one going to be about? Here’s everything we know so far…

Back in February 2024, directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein both took to Instagram to share pictures of them on set for Final Destination 6. Zach wrote: ‘Co-directing is the best-directing #finaldestination here we go!’ and then in March he said (alongside a picture of a giant clapperboard): ‘If the slate is this big, imagine how big the opening setpiece is going to be. #finaldestination coming in IMAX next year!’

Fans were quick to express their excitement, with one writing: ‘it’s all coming together! So damn exciting!’ and another: ‘omg ‘.

Who will star in the new Final Destination movie?

The movie’s been written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor and is rumoured to star Tony Todd, Rya Kihlstedt, Richard Harmon, Max Lloyd-Jones and Brec Bassinger (who took to Instagram to share her excitement about the role).

When will Final Destination 6 arrive in cinemas?

We’re told it’s set for release on 16th May 2025.

    What will it be called?

It’s going to be called Final Destination: Bloodlines.

What will happen in the new movie?

There’s no plot as yet…but we’re sure it’ll involve the usual death-cheating chaos we’ve come to expect. It’s not for the faint-hearted.

    Is there a trailer?

Although lots of trailers have been floating around the internet, nothing official has yet been released.

When did the previous five movies come out?

Final Destination was first released in 2020 and was followed by a sequel three years later in 2003. Producers soon realised they were on to a good thing and brought out a new movie every few years in 2006, 2009 and 2011. But there’s been radio silence since then. So we’re thrilled to pick up where we left off 14 years later!

Now check out these films set to be released soon…

  • Franz Ferdinand: The Human Fear review – stiffness sets in on stodgy sixth | Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand: The Human Fear review – stiffness sets in on stodgy sixth | Franz Ferdinand

For the most part, British indie-mania of the 00s involved a slew of sixth-form poets holding forth over amateurishly jerky guitars: the results were often simultaneously brilliant and deeply cringeworthy. Somehow, Franz Ferdinand managed to establish themselves as a tent pole of the scene while wholly bypassing the awkward young upstart vibe. Frontman Alex Kapranos was in his 30s when the band released their debut album, which combined sharp riffs with arch, arty posturing and lugubrious vocals. Kapranos and co were cooler than their contemporaries in both senses: their aesthetic was less messy and their lyrics less bracingly obvious, but they were also less sweatily relatable.

Franz Ferdinand – Night and Day video

If Franz Ferdinand were the grownups back then, 20 years on they’re positively avuncular. The Human Fear – their sixth album, and first since 2018 – feels markedly middle-aged in tone. Despite opener Audacious kicking off with Kapranos muttering about the disintegration of reality over a pleasingly grainy riff, the song then slows into the kind of sweeping, plodding chorus you could imagine Take That crooning on a teatime chatshow. Other songs (Bar Lonely, Tell Me I Should Stay) channel 70s glam to pleasant but unremarkable ends, while a track called The Doctor – told from the perspective of a man unwilling to vacate his hospital bed (“I have nurses to talk to … and thermometers to hold”) – doesn’t exactly telegraph vitality. There are even a couple of actively eye-watering moments, such as Kapranos singing the praises of a new paramour over Hooked’s novelty EDM-style synths. It’s safe to say that two decades on from their heyday, Franz Ferdinand have finally lost their cool.

The Human Fear is released on 10 January

Franz Ferdinand: The Human Fear review – stiffness sets in on stodgy sixth

Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand has been a staple in the music scene since their debut album in 2004. With their infectious hooks and energetic performances, they quickly became fan favorites. However, their latest album, The Human Fear, seems to fall short of their usual high standards.

The sixth studio album from Franz Ferdinand, The Human Fear, showcases the band’s signature blend of danceable rhythms and catchy melodies. However, many critics and fans have noted that the album lacks the spark and innovation that made their earlier work so memorable.

One of the main criticisms of The Human Fear is its lack of experimentation. The album feels safe and predictable, with few risks taken in terms of songwriting or production. This results in a somewhat stale and uninspired sound that fails to capture the excitement and energy of their earlier work.

Despite this, there are still some highlights on the album. Tracks like “Feel the Love Go” and “Paper Cages” showcase the band’s knack for crafting infectious pop hooks and driving rhythms. However, these moments are few and far between, leaving much of the album feeling forgettable.

Overall, The Human Fear is a solid effort from Franz Ferdinand, but it ultimately falls short of their previous work. Fans of the band may still find things to enjoy on the album, but those looking for a fresh and exciting new direction from the band may be left disappointed. Hopefully, Franz Ferdinand will be able to shake off this stiffness and return to form on future releases.

  • De’Andre Hunter Making Strong Case for NBA Sixth Man of the Year

De’Andre Hunter Making Strong Case for NBA Sixth Man of the Year

In the first five seasons of De’Andre Hunter’s NBA career, the former UVA basketball champion started in 237 of the 263 games he played. This season, Hunter has been moved to a bench role, starting just two of the 20 games he has played in so far this year.

How is Hunter handling that move to the bench?

Well, he’s currently one of the frontrunners for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award and is having by far the best season of his professional basketball career.

Hunter is averaging 20.3 points per game, nearly five points better than his previous career-high of 15.6 points per game last season. He is shooting 44.0% from three-point range; his previous best in that category was 38.5% last season. He is shooting 48.7% from the floor and 89.9% from the free throw line, which are both career-high marks as well. Hunter is very close to qualifying for the prestigious 50-40-90 club. He has scored 25 or more points in three of his last four games and has scored at least 20 points 13 times this season, most among all bench players in the NBA.

With Hunter thriving off the bench, the Atlanta Hawks are 16-15 overall and are currently the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Here are the current odds for the 2025 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award according to BetMGM:

    1. Payton Pritchard (-290)
    2. De’Andre Hunter (+600)
    3. Santi Aldama (+1600)
    4. Amen Thompson (+2500)
    5. Buddy Hield (+3500)

There is a lot of season left, of course, but the oddsmakers seem to see this as a two-horse race right now between De’Andre Hunter and Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard. Hunter and Pritchard faced off during Virginia’s run to the 2019 National Champion, with UVA defeating Oregon 53-49 in the Sweet Sixteen.

Here are the stats for the two players at this point in the season. It should be noted that Pritchard has played in 10 more games than Hunter, who missed time with an injury. But both players should be eligible for the Sixth Man of the Year Award, as the only rule for that award is that the player comes off the bench in less games than he starts in the regular season.

    Payton Pritchard: 15.3 ppg, 3.2 apg, 3.7 rpg, 46.7% FG, 41.4% 3pt FG, 28.7 mpg
    De’Andre Hunter: 20.3 ppg, 1.3 apg, 4.1 rpg, 48.7% FG, 44.0% 3pt FG, 28.2 mpg

Hunter is averaging more points per game (by five points) than Pritchard and is shooting better from the floor and from beyond the arc in slightly less minutes, but essentially the same amount of playing time. Hunter has better numbers, but Pritchard is on the better team, as the reigning NBA Champion Celtics are currently second in the Eastern Conference at 22-8.

There is a long way to go, but with the way De’Andre Hunter is playing right now, he could become the second former Wahoo to win NBA Sixth Man of the Year. Malcolm Brogdon won the award in the 2022-2023 NBA season with the Celtics, becoming the first UVA alum to ever win the award and just the second player in NBA history to win both the NBA Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year awards in the same career.

De’Andre Hunter Making Strong Case for NBA Sixth Man of the Year

Atlanta Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter has been turning heads this season with his impressive play off the bench, making a strong case for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.

Hunter, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, has been a key contributor for the Hawks this season, averaging 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He has provided a much-needed scoring punch off the bench for Atlanta, helping them to a strong start to the season.

One of Hunter’s biggest strengths is his versatility on both ends of the floor. He is a solid defender who can guard multiple positions, and he has shown the ability to score in a variety of ways, whether it be driving to the basket, knocking down three-pointers, or creating his own shot.

With his strong play this season, Hunter has emerged as one of the top candidates for the Sixth Man of the Year award. He has been a consistent performer for the Hawks, coming up big in crucial moments and providing a spark off the bench.

If Hunter can continue his strong play throughout the season, he will undoubtedly be in the running for the Sixth Man of the Year award. His impact off the bench has been instrumental in the Hawks’ success so far, and he will be a key player to watch as the season progresses.

  • Unlocking the Power of X Sense: How Our Sixth Sense Influences Our Perception

Unlocking the Power of X Sense: How Our Sixth Sense Influences Our Perception

Have you ever had a gut feeling about something that turned out to be true? Or sensed that someone was watching you, even though you couldn’t see them? These experiences are often attributed to our sixth sense, also known as X sense. While it may seem mysterious and elusive, the power of our sixth sense is actually deeply ingrained in our perception and can have a significant impact on how we navigate the world.

The concept of the sixth sense has been a topic of fascination for centuries, with many cultures and belief systems acknowledging its existence in some form. In Western culture, it is often associated with intuition, psychic abilities, or a heightened sense of awareness. But what exactly is the sixth sense, and how does it influence our perception?

The sixth sense is believed to be an innate ability that allows us to perceive information beyond the five traditional senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. It is often described as a “gut feeling” or an intuitive knowing that guides us in making decisions and understanding the world around us. This sense is thought to be rooted in our subconscious mind, drawing on a combination of past experiences, emotions, and instincts to provide us with insights that may not be immediately apparent to our conscious mind.

Research has shown that our sixth sense can play a crucial role in shaping our perception of reality. For example, studies have found that individuals who are more in tune with their intuition tend to be better at reading social cues, making accurate judgments about people’s character, and anticipating potential risks or opportunities. This suggests that our sixth sense can serve as a valuable tool for navigating complex social situations and making informed decisions.

Furthermore, our sixth sense can also influence our physical perception of the world around us. For instance, research has shown that individuals who are more attuned to their intuition tend to have a stronger sense of presence and awareness of their surroundings. This heightened sense of awareness can be particularly useful in situations where we need to react quickly to changes in our environment or detect subtle cues that may indicate danger or opportunity.

So how can we unlock the power of our sixth sense and harness its potential to enhance our perception? One way is to cultivate mindfulness and self-awareness, which can help us tune into our intuition and listen to the subtle signals that our sixth sense provides. Practicing activities such as meditation, journaling, and reflective thinking can help us become more attuned to our inner voice and develop a deeper understanding of our instincts and intuition.

Additionally, paying attention to our emotional and physical reactions can also help us tap into our sixth sense. Our bodies often provide us with valuable information through sensations such as butterflies in the stomach, tingling in the spine, or a sense of unease. By listening to these signals and trusting our instincts, we can learn to navigate the world with greater confidence and clarity.

In conclusion, our sixth sense is a powerful and often overlooked aspect of our perception that can profoundly influence how we experience the world. By unlocking the power of our intuition and learning to trust our instincts, we can tap into a deeper level of awareness and understanding that can help us make better decisions, navigate challenging situations, and enhance our overall well-being. So next time you have a gut feeling or a sense that something is not quite right, pay attention – your sixth sense may be trying to tell you something important.
