  • Angel Reese goes twins blown-out curls beside Skylar Diggins-Smith in WNBA selfie

Angel Reese is enjoying time bonding and having fun with her new WNBA sisterhood in the 3×3 Unrivaled league in Miami. She linked up with another “baddie” in Skylar Diggins-Smith for her podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

The Chicago Sky All-Star Reese arrived In Florida for New Year’s Eve South Beach ready with a skimpy look that caused her to delete her social media for a few days over the backlash, but like Reese always does she clapped back with a two-word burn and brought the heat back.

Reese was also seen having fun twerking with her Rose Basketball Club teammate Chelsea Gray for Marina Mabrey, and rocked a blinged out look in her new uniform for her team photos.

The Seattle Storm star and new Lunar Owls player Diggins-Smith, meanwhile, is also enjoying herself as seen in a video where Cameron Brink hit a half-court shot and danced on her.

The “2 Baddies,” the “2 Dawgs” as Reese referred to them as, linked up on Angel’s podcast and took an epic side-by-side selfie with their epic curly matching hair.

Diggins-Smith, 34, definitely holds her own against the younger Reese with her looks. The green beanie is a plus for Reese but her “Baddies” facial expression wins the day.

No doubt the two WNBA stars will also be the center of attention on the court in Unrivaled and we can’t wait to see it.

Skylar Diggins-Smith will represent the Lunar Owls Basketball Club in the league alongside Napheesa Collier, Courtney Williams, Allisha Gray, Cameron Brink and Shakira Austin. The team is led by NBA skills coach, DJ Sackmann.

Unrivaled features 36 players split into six teams playing in a 3×3 style on a condensed full court. In an interview with Seattle Storm Official last week, Diggins-Smith expressed excitement for participating in the league and shared how it would help her improve her game for the WNBA.

“The quality of competition that’s going to be there, I’m a firm believer that iron sharpens iron,” Diggins-Smith said. “The talent that’s been collected for the inaugural season already, that’s exciting. I look forward to that competition and that will prepare me, ultimately, for how I want to be in the WNBA.”

In the 2024 season, Skylar Diggins-Smith averaged 15.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in the regular season. The 5-foot-9 guard shot 42.7% from the field, including 29.1% from beyond the arc, as the Seattle Storm clinched the fifth seed and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

The post featured a video showing multiple participating WNBA stars checking out the jerseys in a locker room.

Similar to the other five teams in the league, the Lunar Owls have two different pairs of jerseys. One is primarily white with purple team branding and stripes around the sleeve line while the other is primarily black with golden branding and purple stripes along the sleeve line.

The Lunar Owls BC will tip off the inaugural season of Unrivaled as they take on the Mist BC on Friday in Miami on Friday.
