  • Bears finalize offensive coaching staff by adding offensive line coach Dan Roushar: source

    The Blues and Saad mutually terminated his contract after he was put on waivers on Wednesday.

    The Blues had tried to trade Saad over the past several months, sources told ESPN, but did not find any partners.

    Saad, 32, has just 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 43 games this season, along with a 9.3 shooting percentage — the second-worst mark of his 14-year career.

    Saad was in his fourth season with the Blues. During the prime of his career, he helped Chicago win the Stanley Cup twice: in 2013 and 2015.

    The Mariners are reuniting with infielder Jorge Polanco on a free-agent contract, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand on Thursday night. The club has not confirmed the move.

He began receiving extended playing time by 2016 and put up a .269/.334/.446 slash line with 112 homers over the next eight seasons. He has been a poor defender throughout his career and recorded minus-10 Outs Above Average at second base last year — the worst among qualified players at the position.

    NEW YORK — President Donald Trump and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul have spoken twice in the past week about ending congestion pricing in New York City, a highly-placed source familiar with the conversation told CBS News New York’s Marcia Kramer. 

    The most recent conversation happened Thursday morning, the source said. 

    Hochul defends program

    During the conversation, Hochul told Mr. Trump that initial data shows congestion pricing was working, and made the case for keeping the program, the source told Kramer. Mr. Trump told her he wouldn’t take any action to stop it without speaking with her first, and that they would talk again next week. 

    “America’s economy relies on New York City, and New York City relies on public transit — that’s why Gov. Hochul will always advocate for funding the commuter rail, subways and buses that fuel the economic growth of the greatest city in the world,” a spokesperson for Hochul said.   

    Congestion pricing in the crosshairs

    Mr. Trump has previously said he would “terminate” congestion pricing.  

    Lawmakers from New Jersey, Long Island and the northern suburbs of New York have all vigorously opposed the plan and have tried repeatedly to stop it, though it has survived every legal challenge to date.
