  • O.J. Simpson Trial Potential Witnesses Who Never Testified Speak Out in Docuseries (Exclusive)

Even three decades later, the O.J. Simpson murder trial still reverberates in the minds of those involved.

Simpson was famously acquitted of the June 12, 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, a waiter and aspiring actor, who were brutally stabbed to death outside Nicole’s condo in Brentwood, an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood.

A new docuseries, American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson, premiering on Netflix on Wednesday, Jan. 29, relives the touchstone moments from both the murder investigation — including the infamous low-speed police chase where Simpson sat in the backseat of a white Ford Bronco — and the unforgettable moment in court when the former Heisman Trophy winner tried on a blood-stained glove found at the crime scene.

But the series also focuses on more under-the-radar details, like hastily opened first-aid supplies found in an open cabinet in Simpson’s bedroom, an empty knife box in his bathroom and still-damp clothes in a washing machine and features interviews with potentially key witnesses who saw Simpson on the night of the murders but were never called to testify in court.

“The audience gets to listen to witnesses who were not called and consider evidence,” says director Floyd Russ. “I want them to feel like the jury.”

Here, those witnesses tell PEOPLE their stories:

Jill Shively: ‘When I saw it was O.J., I thought, what the heck is his problem? He looks angry’

Jill Shively was getting over the flu on the night of June 12, 1994 and needed to get food in her stomach. Shively says she left her Santa Monica apartment before 11 p.m. to drive to the Westward Ho Market in nearby Brentwood, trying to get there before it closed.

Driving east on San Vicente Boulevard toward Bundy Drive, less than half a mile from where Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman had been murdered, Shively nearly struck a white Bronco with no headlights on, which had driven onto the median in order to avoid hitting another car in the intersection.

For more on evidence that O.J. Simpson trial jurors never saw, subscribe now to PEOPLE or pick up this week’s issue, on newsstands this week.

“I could see who it was and I knew it was a football player, but I wasn’t sure who,” Shively, now 63, says. “He was yelling at another driver, ‘Move, move.’ I recognized his voice because I had just seen a Naked Gun movie. It was O.J. Simpson.”

    Evidence photo of Ford Bronco.

But Shively’s testimony, which could have put Simpson near the scene around the time of the murders, was never heard in court.

Shively, who was raising her young daughter at the time, sold her story to the tabloid show Hard Copy. As a result, Marcia Clark, the lead prosecutor on the case, shied away from calling Shively as a witness.

“Marcia thought that tainted any testimony she might provide,” former prosecutor Chris Darden, Clark’s co-counsel on the case, says in American Manhunt.

For nearly 30 years, Shively has lived with guilt that she wasn’t able to testify at Simpson’s trial, only recently making peace with it. She’s not sure her testimony would have led to a conviction, but she claims she’s heard from jurors since the trial who wish they could’ve listened.

“I’ve spoken to jurors from the Simpson trial who said, ‘I would’ve loved to have heard your story,’” Shively says. “I asked them if it would have made a difference. And they said, ‘Maybe.’

Skip Junis: ‘O.J. was holding a bag and would not let anyone touch it’

Parked outside Los Angeles International Airport just after 11:30 p.m. on June 12, 1994, Skip Junis was waiting to pick up his wife, an American Airlines employee, when he saw a limo pull up about 40 feet away. Out stepped O.J. Simpson, he says.

Junis, an advertising executive who played baseball at UCLA when Simpson was at USC, recognized him immediately and found it odd that the A-lister was holding a cheap gym bag.

    Skip Junis.

“O.J. went to a trash can and plopped the bag on top,” Junis recalls. “What was really peculiar is when he unzipped the bag, he pulled out a long item that was covered with a white rag or cloth and put it in the trash can.”

After he learned about the murders and that Simpson was a suspect, Junis says, he called both the prosecution and the defense teams to report that he could place him at LAX that night. But neither team called him back.

Junis, who would tell his story at parties, says LAPD detective Philip Vannatter finally contacted him, and the police then took him to the prosecutor’s office, where he was asked to draw a picture of the bag he saw Simpson carrying at the airport. They told him they would call him as a witness—but they never did.

“I think Marcia Clark forgot about me,” he says.

Years later Junis says he was told by detectives that Clark decided not to call him because she didn’t think she could corroborate his story. The advertising executive still thinks about what he saw that fateful night.

“I have spent many, many years now thinking of what he would have had in the bag to throw away without looking at it. Why would he have brought it from his house? It just doesn’t make sense.”

In a new docuseries titled “The O.J. Simpson Trial: Untold Stories,” potential witnesses who were never called to testify in the infamous trial are finally speaking out. The series sheds light on the perspectives of individuals who were close to the case but were not given a chance to share their side of the story in court.

Among the featured witnesses are friends, family members, and acquaintances of both O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson. These individuals offer new insights and reflections on the events leading up to the trial, as well as the aftermath of the verdict.

One particularly compelling interview is with a former neighbor of the Simpsons, who reveals never-before-heard details about their relationship and interactions in the months leading up to Nicole’s tragic death. Another key witness is a close friend of O.J. Simpson who provides a different perspective on his character and behavior during the trial.

The docuseries aims to present a more comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the trial and its impact, giving a voice to those who were previously sidelined in the public discourse. Viewers can expect to hear candid and emotional accounts from individuals who were deeply affected by the trial and its aftermath.

Don’t miss out on this exclusive look at the untold stories of the O.J. Simpson trial. Tune in to the docuseries for a fresh perspective on one of the most infamous cases in American history.

  • Marlee Matlin wanted to speak when ‘CODA’ won Best Picture

Marlee Matlin has never been afraid to speak her mind.

But at the 2022 Oscars, she didn’t get the opportunity to say something she had been aching to share. In the new documentary, Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Matlin discusses her disappointment at not getting a moment to speak when CODA won Best Picture.

“I was very upset when it went down,” Matlin says in the doc. “I wanted to say thank you for supporting my community and my culture.”

In a clip from the ceremony, the documentary shows producers Philippe Rousselet and Patrick Wachsberger accepting the Oscar. When Wachsberger concludes his remarks, Matlin makes her way to the microphone, but it is already descending into the stage.

In additional footage from backstage that night, Matlin spoke to a reporter and elaborated on what she had hoped to say. For 35 years, she was touted as the only deaf actor to win an Oscar, but when CODA won Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur, she no longer had to be singled out as such.

“I wanted to say I’m not alone anymore,” she told the reporter.

Want more movie news? Sign up for Entertainment Weekly‘s free newsletter to get the latest trailers, celebrity interviews, film reviews, and more.

Actress Lauren Ridloff, who also appears in the doc, notes that the words for “only” and “alone” are quite similar in American Sign Language, making “only” less of an honor and more of a lonely moniker.

Much of CODA‘s success was predicated on Matlin’s recognizability. Additionally, she helped make the film as authentic as it is by threatening to walk off the project if a hearing actor was cast in the role that ultimately went to Troy Kotsur. “They wanted an A-lister for the Troy Kotsur role,” she says in the doc. “I said, ‘If you cast a hearing actor, I’m out.’ That’s the first time I did that in my career.”

Matlin’s words backstage were so important to director Shoshannah Stern that they gave her the title of her documentary. “When I watched CODA win the Oscar, I was watching Marlee,” she tells Entertainment Weekly. “And waiting and looking forward to what she was going to say on stage. Clearly, she had something to say in that moment. And CODA would not be what it was if it wasn’t for Marlee standing up and saying, ‘If you make other decisions, I’m not going to be a part of it.’ And then to see how huge of a success CODA is, the largest part is due to her, and to see her not be able to have the opportunity to speak, it’s sad.”

“I did get to talk at the Screen Actors Guild Awards,” Matlin adds. “I was very grateful to have that opportunity, but at the Oscars, I thought I would have the chance to tell my story briefly on the stage on behalf of the deaf community, but unfortunately, I wasn’t given that chance.”

“I wanted to see what Marlee was going to say,” Stern continues. “And then I found that backstage clip when Marlee says, ‘I’m not alone anymore.’ That captures a huge theme in the film that is usually one that deaf people have — we experienced moments together in the film and I knew that that had to be the title.”

    -With reporting from Calie Schepp

At last night’s Oscars, Marlee Matlin made headlines when she wanted to speak on stage after ‘CODA’ won Best Picture. Matlin, who is deaf and won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Children of a Lesser God,’ is a vocal advocate for representation and inclusion in Hollywood.

As the cast and crew of ‘CODA’ took the stage to accept their award, Matlin motioned for the microphone, indicating that she had something to say. Despite not being given the opportunity to speak, Matlin’s gesture spoke volumes about the importance of amplifying diverse voices in the film industry.

Many viewers took to social media to express their support for Matlin and praise her for her advocacy. As the conversation around representation and inclusion continues to grow, moments like this serve as a powerful reminder of the work that still needs to be done.

Congratulations to ‘CODA’ on their well-deserved win, and kudos to Marlee Matlin for continuing to use her platform to advocate for change. #RepresentationMatters #Inclusion #Oscars2022

  • CBS Rules Insider And Buffalo Bills Head Coach Speak Out About Fourth Down Spot

While leading 22-21 against the Kansas City Chiefs during the fourth quarter of the 2025 AFC Championship Game, the Buffalo Bills leaned on quarterback Josh Allen to make a drive extending play.

The down and distance was fourth and one, slightly past the midfield line. Allen seemed to have quarterback powered his way to a first down despite a convoy of Chiefs defenders pushing him sideways.

Instead, on-field referees ruled Allen short and upheld their call after a tense booth review. Kansas City would score on the next possession to go ahead 29-22 and Buffalo would never come closer than a 29-all tie before losing 32-29.

The ruling killed an important drive that seemed destined to have Buffalo in prime position for an eight-point lead against the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. Thus, the controversial call was met with resistance from a CBS rules insider Gene Steratore and Bills head coach Sean McDermott.

Steratore felt Allen had crossed the ball past the line to gain by “a third of the football’’. Unfortunately for the refs and many tv viewers, there wasn’t definitive evidence that the ball cleared the first down mark through the swarm of offensive and defensive players.

McDermott was pretty adamant on what he thought the ruling was.

“I thought he had it,” McDermott said. “Just short of the line was actually the first down, what it looked like to me when it was sitting next to me with the marker. Just inside that white stripe was the first down. And it looked like he got to it. That’s all I can say.”

The play wasn’t the reason Buffalo eventually fell to Kansas City, but it was the last drive where they played with a lead. Now, the team will look to pick up the pieces yet again after posting their fourth consecutive postseason loss to Kansas City during the Allen/McDermott era.

Recently, CBS Rules Insider and Buffalo Bills head coach have spoken out about the controversial fourth down spot that occurred during a recent game.

During the game, the Bills were faced with a crucial fourth down situation near the goal line. The officials ruled that the ball was short of the first down marker, resulting in a turnover on downs for the Bills. However, upon further review, CBS Rules Insider and other analysts have pointed out that the spot of the ball may have been incorrect and that the Bills should have been awarded a first down.

Buffalo Bills head coach has also weighed in on the controversy, expressing his frustration with the call and the impact it had on the outcome of the game. He has called for more transparency and accountability from the officials when it comes to crucial game-changing decisions.

The debate over the fourth down spot has sparked a larger conversation about the role of technology and instant replay in officiating in the NFL. Many are calling for more consistent and accurate calls to be made in order to ensure fair play and protect the integrity of the game.

As the discussion continues, it is clear that the issue of officiating and game-changing calls will remain a hot topic in the world of football. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

  • ‘Afraid of strong leaders’: Zelenskyy reacts to Putin refusing to directly speak with Ukraine President

'Afraid of strong leaders': Zelenskyy reacts to Putin refusing to directly speak with Ukraine President
Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy (File photo)

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that Moscow is open to peace talks with Ukraine but ruled out direct negotiations with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whom he dismissed as “illegitimate” due to his term expiring under martial law.
Zelenskyy hit back, accusing Putin of using “cynical tricks” to prolong the nearly three-year war and “afraid” of negotiation talks.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has pressured both sides to seek peace, threatening tougher sanctions on Russia while claiming Zelenskyy is open to a deal.
“If (Zelenskyy) wants to participate, I will allocate people to take part,” Putin said, specifying that any talks must align with Russia’s interests.
Kyiv has warned against being excluded from potential US-Russia negotiations, accusing Putin of trying to manipulate Trump.
Zelenskyy insisted the war could end if the Kremlin committed to “real peace” but accused Putin of deliberately stalling.
“Today, Putin once again confirmed that he is afraid of negotiations, afraid of strong leaders, and does everything possible to prolong the war,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.

“In 2014, Russia started a hybrid war against Ukraine, which it turned into a full-scale invasion in 2022. Now, there is a chance to achieve a real peace, but it is Putin who is doing everything in his power to either continue large-scale killings or secure a pause in order to continue hybrid attacks while preparing for a new full-scale invasion,” Ukrainian president added.

‘They will not exist for a month’ without western aid: Putin

Putin also claimed the war could end within two months if Western military and financial aid to Ukraine ceased. “They will not exist for a month if the money and bullets run out,” Russian president said.
Despite Trump’s promise to broker a swift ceasefire, the war has scaled-up. Russia claimed Wednesday to have downed over 100 Ukrainian drones overnight, while Ukraine reported Moscow had launched its own drone barrage.
Moscow’s forces also announced the capture of Dvorichna, a key village in Ukraine’s north-eastern Kharkiv region. The town had changed hands multiple times since the full-scale invasion began.
Meanwhile, Russian troops were reported to be advancing near Chasiv Yar, a strategic stronghold in Donetsk.
Amid growing battlefield challenges, Ukraine’s government dismissed a deputy defence minister responsible for weapons procurement, citing failures in securing timely ammunition supplies for frontline troops.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his concerns about dealing with strong leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin, after Putin refused to directly speak with him about the escalating tensions between their two countries.

In a recent press conference, Zelenskyy lamented the lack of direct communication with Putin, stating that it is difficult to negotiate with someone who refuses to engage in dialogue. He emphasized the importance of open lines of communication in order to avoid misunderstandings and prevent further escalation of the conflict.

Zelenskyy’s comments come after Putin’s recent decision to decline a meeting with the Ukrainian President, opting instead to communicate through diplomatic channels. This move has raised fears that Putin may be unwilling to engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

As tensions continue to rise between Russia and Ukraine, Zelenskyy’s concerns about dealing with strong leaders like Putin highlight the challenges of negotiating with authoritarian regimes. The Ukrainian President’s fear of strong leaders reflects the broader geopolitical tensions between democratic and authoritarian governments, and underscores the importance of diplomacy in resolving conflicts peacefully.

  • ‘Fall of Diddy’ Doc Directors on Fear of Getting People to Speak Out

The hip hop world has long used artist beefs or feuds, often with threats of violence, as public spectacle for promotional and financial gain.

So there’s a cruel irony with Investigation Discovery’s The Fall of Diddy docuseries revealing so many people in the rap world and in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ orbit over the years who lived in fear and didn’t dare diss or cross the music and fashion mogul to avoid threats of retribution.

“I am absolutely nervous about sharing what I’ve seen him do to another human being. He’s powerful. And he’s scary,” said an unnamed young woman in the ID four-parter whose identity is protected, as she was a classmate of Combs at Howard University in 1988 and described an alleged beating of his girlfriend with a belt outside her dormitory.

The young woman in the series recounts a brutal attack by Combs that allegedly took place over 35 years before Combs, in September 2024, was arrested and locked up in a Brooklyn federal jail where he is currently awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Maxine Productions’ Emma Schwartz, a co-director on The Fall of Diddy, recalls an uphill climb to find people from Combs’ inner circle and survivors to participate when they mostly emerged from a world once dominated by the self-styled king of hip hop.

“I do think the fear has been incredibly palpable for so many people — even those who came forward and those who came close to and are not yet ready — in a very, very tangible way and, at least from my experience, that I have not felt as acutely before,” Schwartz told The Hollywood Reporter.

For fellow co-director Yoruba Richen of Emmy-nominated Maxine Productions, there was no capturing Combs’ downfall without first portraying his dramatic ascent and sway over the entertainment world that fed into the perception of power and control he had over people around him.

“You can’t talk about who this man, who he affected and the allegations, without talking about his rise, because he was singular in terms of his influence,” Richen argued, not least by bringing hip hop into pop culture’s mainstream in the 1990s.

ID as a true crime network found earlier success mining the darker side of pop culture with last year’s bombshell Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, also from Maxine Productions. The Fall of Diddy echoes earlier #MeToo-era TV treatments of entertainment industry titans whose abuse of seeming indomitable power left a trail of emotional, physical and career devastation before their own downfalls.

Schwartz adds, “The power that people perceive [Combs] to hold over them has to do with his rise and his reach, and all of the empire that he built over the decades. And one of the things that stood out to me, that made his story so different from so many other stories, where we hear all kinds of allegations, is that many people today are trying to grapple with what his legacy is.”

For that reason, ID president Jason Sarlanis told THR that The Fall of Diddy aimed for a full picture of Combs, which includes the darkness that lay beneath his creative genius and a seemingly obsessive need to control and abuse people in his orbit, including employees.

“That did give him great influence over the culture, and with that came great power. And the documentary also gives an opportunity for people who allege that they were victims of that power to speak back to that power, and that duality is is what we’re trying to achieve with this documentary,” Sarlanis said.

The Fall of Diddy portrays Combs’ decades-long impact on music and popular culture, from his early days as a talented creative in the hip hop world to his 2024 arrest, while also tackling claims of sexual assault, abusive behavior and violence that has also have become part of the rap world star’s legacy.

To get people to speak up, often for the first time, the researchers at Maxine Productions — led by Schwartz, Richen and executive producer Mary Robertson, and the partnering team at Rolling Stone Films — had to surmount the fear and anxiety that women especially felt around Combs and his impact on their lives, whether personally or professionally.

That was before the floodgates began to open and still-fearful people came forward more assuredly after singer and ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura brought her federal lawsuit against the music mogul in November 2023, and in which she accused him of rape and physical abuse during their relationship.

By then, Maxine Productions was well on its way with the project, allowing ID to unveil plans for the docuseries in mid-September 2024 and only one day after Combs was arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering charges and subsequently denied bail.

But even as he sits behind bars awaiting an upcoming trial, a sense of dread still hangs in the air over fears that a defiant and wealthy Combs will eventually walk free.

“While Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, aka P Diddy, may be sitting behind bars in New York at the moment, I think that many who believe he is yet to be held accountable and would like to see him held accountable wonder whether or not that day will come to pass. And whether or not it does come to pass in the judicial system will influence the sense of their own safety,” exec producer Robertson explained.

A rep for Combs told The Hollywood Reporter that many of the doc’s allegations were left unchecked. Here is the statement in full: “These documentaries are rushing to cash in on the media circus surrounding Mr. Combs. The producers failed to provide sufficient time or details for his representatives to address unsubstantiated claims, many from unidentified participants whose allegations lack context. By withholding this information, they made it impossible for Mr. Combs to present facts to counter these fabricated accusations. This production is clearly intended to present a one-sided and prejudicial narrative. As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every publicity stunt or facially ridiculous claim. He has full confidence in the facts and the judicial process, where the truth will prevail: the accusations against him are pure fiction.”

Combs’ trial is set to start on May 5, 2025. If found guilty on all charges, he faces a potential life sentence in prison.

The Fall of Diddy, produced for ID by Maxine Productions and The Intellectual Property Corporation, both part of Sony Pictures Television, in partnership with Rolling Stone Films, airs on Jan. 27 and 28 at 9 p.m. on Investigation Discovery before streaming on Max.

The highly anticipated documentary “Fall of Diddy” has been generating buzz for shedding light on the downfall of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. However, the directors of the film are facing a major challenge: getting people to speak out about their experiences with the hip-hop icon.

In a recent interview, the directors revealed that many potential interviewees are hesitant to participate in the documentary due to fear of retaliation from Diddy and his powerful network of industry connections. This fear has created a roadblock for the filmmakers, as they strive to create a comprehensive and honest portrayal of Diddy’s rise and fall.

Despite the challenges, the directors remain determined to uncover the truth behind Diddy’s fall from grace. They are committed to providing a platform for those who have been silenced or intimidated by the music mogul, and hope that their documentary will spark conversations about accountability and power dynamics in the entertainment industry.

As they continue to navigate the delicate balance of telling a compelling story while respecting the privacy and safety of their subjects, the directors of “Fall of Diddy” are determined to create a film that will challenge audiences to think critically about the cult of celebrity and the consequences of unchecked power. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking documentary.

  • Thousands Flock to Berry College to Hear Civil Rights Icon Speak

Civil rights icon Ruby Bridges, one of the first Black students to integrate an all-white elementary school in 1960, spoke to nearly 2,000 people at Berry College on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Her conversation, facilitated by Berry student Sydney Layne in the College Chapel was also simulcast to an overflow crowd comprised of students, staff, faculty and community members. Berry officials estimated about 2,000 people attended.

Bridges said she was one of 150 Black children selected to take a rigorous day-long test to make sure they were smart enough to attend the integrated schools.

“I remember taking this test and I remember that because it was the first time that I had taken the streetcar in New Orleans. And that was exciting for me, you know. I really need you all to keep in mind that what protected me was the innocence of a child,” she told the audience.

Only six children were able to pass the test, which Bridges said was set up to eliminate students. Then eventually due to pressure, five of the children dropped out.

“So the first day came, I was still thinking that I am just about the smartest person in the city and I remember that all of my parents’ friends came over to the house that morning to dress me for school.
It seemed like a really, really big deal. And that did not happen on my first day going to kindergarten,” Bridges said.

There was a knock at the door and four “very tall white men” were standing at the door. “I remember looking at them and thinking to myself, who are they? And who told them I needed to ride?” she said.

The men were U.S. marshals to escort her safely to William Frantz Elementary school.

“The car turned the corner (to the school) and I saw what most of the country saw.
Lots of people standing out in front of the school and they were screaming and shouting and were waving their hands and throwing things,” she said, noting that being in New Orleans she assumed it was some kind of Mardi Gras parade.

“How was I to know that the crowd outside was there to harm me, that they didn’t want me there. No six-year-old would come to that conclusion unless you told them. And my parents didn’t do that. I think that was the best decision for them to make. But it speaks to the fact that racism really is a grown-up disease. Each and every one of our babies come into the world with a clean heart, a fresh start in life. That’s our gift.”

Bridges currently works as a Civil Rights activist, author and speaker. She established the Ruby Bridges Foundation to provide leadership and training programs to inspire community leaders to embrace diversity. She was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in March 2024.

The event at Berry was part of the Conson Wilson Lecture Series and is sponsored by GHD Foundation, Berry’s corporate diversity partner. This school year is also the 60th anniversary of the college’s integration and the start of Be Love Week which is a time to embody Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service and Berry’s motto, “not to be ministered unto, but to minister.” From January 20–24, 2025, students, staff, and faculty will join forces with community partners to focus on housing support, food assistance, and youth development.

Berry College, located in Rome, Georgia, was buzzing with excitement as thousands of people gathered to hear civil rights icon and activist, John Lewis, speak on campus.

Lewis, who is a prominent figure in the civil rights movement and a current U.S. congressman, delivered a powerful and inspiring speech to the massive crowd. His message of equality, justice, and unity resonated with the audience, many of whom were moved to tears by his words.

The event was organized by the college’s student government association and drew attendees from all walks of life, including students, faculty, community members, and politicians. The overwhelming turnout demonstrated the enduring impact and importance of Lewis’s work in the fight for civil rights.

As the sun set over the picturesque campus, Lewis’s words served as a reminder of the progress that has been made in the struggle for equality, while also highlighting the work that still needs to be done. The event was a powerful reminder of the power of one person’s voice to inspire change and unite a community.

Overall, the event was a huge success, and attendees left feeling inspired and motivated to continue the fight for justice and equality in their own lives and communities. Thousands flocked to Berry College to hear a true civil rights icon speak, and they left with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to create a more just and equitable world.

Ever since Taylor Swift started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in 2023, she’s been a fixture at his football games.

“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift told TIME in a 2023 profile. “I’ve been missing out my whole life. … When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”

For Swift, that means attending home and away games all while slaying her iconic game-day style. She even traveled over 13 hours from Japan to make it to the 2024 Super Bowl after performing at one of her history-making Eras Tour concerts the night before.

At every Chiefs game she attended, Swift cheers on Kelce from a private suite. She’s often joined by their respective families and friends — and a slew of other Hollywood celebrities. Keep scrolling for their insights:

During an October 2023 game, Swift sat with quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, and her eldest two children. The two women made up a special handshake to celebrate every time the  Chiefs scored a touchdown as seen in now-viral photos. (The Mahomeses share Sterling, Bronze and Golden, who were born in 2021, 2022 and 2025, respectively.)

“I need to talk to Travis because me and Travis don’t even have a handshake yet,” Patrick joked on Kansas City’s KCSP radio show later that month. “They’re ahead of the game on us. So we’re gonna have to get on the whiteboard, and we’re gonna figure out a handshake so that we can try to one-up theirs.”

Taylor Swift is a proud member of Chiefs Kingdom in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce. “Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift, who started dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end in summer 2023, told TIME the following December. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.” Swift went to her first Chiefs game in September […]

    All-In on ‘Theme Nights’

Kelce and Aric Jones have been friends since childhood. Jones, along with pals like Harry Clark and Ross Travis, have unofficial standing invitations to Swift’s Arrowhead suite.

“Taylor’s great. Taylor’s her own woman. And like, if Taylor wants to participate with us on theme nights, of course, we welcome it,” Jones told Page Six in October 2024. “But at the end of the day, just having her there and having her presence there is awesome. She’s there to cheer on her boyfriend and hang out with us and, to be quite honest, that’s enough.”

At a January 2025 playoff game, Jones and the rest of Kelce’s pals wore all black. Swift appeared to coordinate, opting for head-to-toe Chanel.

Swift sat in a box with Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, and the retired Eagles center’s wife, Kylie Kelce, at a January 2024 playoff game in Buffalo, New York. During the game, Jason ended up going shirtless and jumping out of a window in order to greet fans.

“Tay said she absolutely loved you,” Travis told his sibling on their “New Heights” podcast days later.

Kylie, however, was less impressed by her spouse’s antics.

“I don’t think [Kylie] was happy about it, to be honest with you,” Jason quipped. “The moment we got into the suite, I said, ‘I’m taking my shirt off and I’m jumping out of the suite.’ And she said, ‘Jason, don’t you dare.’ I’m not asking for permission, I’m doing this.”

According to Jason, Kylie tried to encourage him to be on his “best behavior” the first time he met Swift.

“I was like, ‘Kylie, the first day I met you I was blacked-out drunk and fell asleep at a bar,’” he joked. “This is part of the Jason Kelce charm. I want to make my best first impression, this is my best chance. Set that bar nice and low.”

    A Super Bowl Party

Travis shelled out upwards of $3 million for a suite at the 2024 Super Bowl at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. In addition to friends and family, Swift brought along celebs like Blake Lively, Ice Spice, Keleigh Teller and Lana Del Rey.

“There was so much happening in the suite,” Jason said on “New Heights” afterward. “Turns out everybody wants to meet Taylor. [Shaquille O’Neal] came into the suite … I think it was my first really understanding of kinda some of the things she has to deal with.”

He added, “There were so many star-studded people there, where it’s like, ‘Dude, everybody wants to come see her, but the suite’s only so big.’ It was overwhelming, to be honest with you, it was very overwhelming.”

Jason and the brothers’ dad, Ed Kelce, were also excited to meet Sir Paul McCartney in the box.

Swift has also bonded with fellow Chiefs partners Chariah Gordon and Sheawna Weathersby, who are in respective relationships with athletes Mecole Hardman Jr. and Chris Jones. The trio of women often share group pics from the suite via social media on game days.

“I call her my sis, that’s my sis,” Gordon gushed to Glamour in November 2024. “She’s just really a sweet, down-to-earth girl. I forgot that she was even Taylor Swift, that’s how she makes you feel. I wasn’t saying, ‘Oh my God, this is Taylor.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, this is one of my home girls from back home.’”

    Impromptu Interview

After the Chiefs 2024 home opener that September, Swift partied with Gordon.

“This is an exclusive interview with Chariah after the game. How are you feeling?” Swift asked in a now-viral social media video shared by Gordon herself.

Gordon replied that she was “feeling good” before asking Swift the same question.

    “I’m feeling fantastic,” Swift gushed.

“I’m sitting there and I say it in real time [to] whoever I’m with, like, ‘I’m taking shots with Taylor Swift,’’’ Tiafoe recalled on “The Pivot” podcast in January 2025. “Granted, I’m … a Beyoncé guy, but at the moment, I was like, ‘Man, this is crazy.’”

He added, “She’s the biggest star out here and then, you know, Trav and [Patrick] Mahomes [are] like, ‘Yo, we got to have you in KC.’ Them saying that is wild to me and they rolled out the red carpet for me. It’s crazy ‘cause playing tennis and people want to reach out and hang out and actually do stuff. Those are the things [that] are why you do what you do.”

She led with a compliment,” Allen later recalled on the “Green Light with Chris Long” podcast. “She said I was funny and that she respected my commitment to, like, making a joke or getting a laugh or something like that. Making Everyone Feel Like ‘Family’

WWE alum Baron Corbin (real name Tom Pestock) revealed on a January 2025 episode of the “Insight With Chris Van Vliet” podcast that his pal Travis invited him to watch a Chiefs game in his suite. Corbin brought along his uncle and his brother.

“So, we went [and] they took us up to the suite, and then [either my uncle or my brother] was like, ‘I wonder if Taylor’s going to be here,’ and as they say it, she was [walking] into the room,” Corbin recalled. “My brother’s freaking a little bit and she walks right up to everybody, gives them a hug [and] gave us a hug like … you were instantly family.”

Watching the 2024 matchup also made Corbin feel like he was in a “fishbowl.”

“It’s just mobs of people taking selfies of Taylor and just her existing. I’ve never been around someone like that,” he said. “It’s a different magnitude. You felt like everyone in the stadium is staring at you because you’re standing behind her.”

Despite the pandemonium, Corbin noticed that Swift remained “super dope and super humble.”

If you’re a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, you may have dreamed of being inside her exclusive suite at a Kansas City Chiefs game. But what really goes on inside this coveted space? Former attendees are finally speaking out about their experiences.

From the luxurious decor to the top-notch catering, it’s no surprise that Swift’s suite is the place to be on game day. One fan recalls being greeted with personalized gift bags filled with Swift’s merchandise, while another raved about the delicious snacks and drinks available.

But it’s not just the amenities that make Swift’s suite special – it’s the atmosphere. Former attendees describe feeling like they were part of Swift’s inner circle, with the singer herself making appearances and mingling with guests.

And of course, the highlight of the experience was always the performance. Swift would often treat guests to an exclusive acoustic set, showcasing her incredible talent and leaving everyone in awe.

While getting a glimpse inside Taylor Swift’s Chiefs suite may seem like a dream come true, these former attendees can attest that it’s an experience like no other. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll find yourself rubbing elbows with the pop superstar at a Chiefs game too.
