    Country music star walks off stage, postpones multiple shows


    Kelsea Ballerini took to social media Sunday to announce that she would be in Philadelphia for her show on Monday.

    And that news was welcomed by her fans because she, apparently, was pretty darned ill heading into the weekend. In fact, Ballerini had to walk off the stage for her show in Buffalo after just 20 minutes. She gave it a go there, according to Newsweek, after telling fans that she had been battling the flu.

    But she didn’t last long until she walked off the stage, and a representative came on to address the crowd.

    “This is the conversation I did not want to have tonight,” he told fans. “She just can’t finish. She is just too sick.”

    Ballerini then took to social media to apologize.

    “Buffalo, I am so, so, so sorry that I could not finish the show tonight,” she said. “I am sicker than I am trying to be. I didn’t want to let anyone down tonight, but I got through the first songs tonight I couldn’t do it.”

    Ballerini then move weekend dates in Toronto and Pittsburg to April, per Newsweek.

    “I will make them the best shows I have ever played in my life,” she promised. “I hope you understand, nad thank you for the grace to be human, and I love you.”

    Ballerini is slated to play the Wells Fargo Center on Monday with show time listed as 7 p.m.



    Country music fans were left disappointed and shocked as popular country music star, Luke Bryan, walked off stage during a recent concert and announced the postponement of multiple upcoming shows.

    The incident occurred during Bryan’s performance at a sold-out show in Nashville, where he abruptly stopped singing and told the audience he was feeling unwell. He then apologized and walked off stage, leaving fans in disbelief.

    Bryan’s management team released a statement shortly after the incident, explaining that the singer was suffering from a sudden illness and needed to take time to rest and recover. As a result, several upcoming shows have been postponed until further notice.

    Fans who had been eagerly anticipating seeing Bryan perform live were understandably upset by the news, but most expressed their support and well wishes for the singer’s speedy recovery.

    Despite the disappointment, fans are hopeful that Bryan will be back on stage soon, giving them the electrifying performances they have come to expect from the country music star.

  • Next gen 10s to take centre stage for years to come


    So long the preserve of Johnny Sexton and Owen Farrell, with a side of George Ford, today’s Ireland v England clash throws four young out-halves into the mix in what could be a fascinating narrative for years to come.

    The old guard have moved on. Sexton retired after the 2023 World Cup, Farrell is in France toiling with Racing and Ford has dropped down the pecking order.

    That’s 340 tests caps out of the picture, with 67 between the four 10s today.

    While Jack Crowley and Ford started last season’s encounter, both men have made way for younger guns with Sam Prendergast and Marcus Smith first to draw pistols today.

    Prendergast, just 21 and winning his fourth cap, got the nod ahead of Crowley, who had appeared to establish himself quickly as Sexton’s replacement.

    He started all eight games after the former Ireland skipper retired and won a Six Nations and drew a series in South Africa.

    Interim head coach Simon Easterby expects the 25-year-old Munster man, who has 19 caps, to push Prendergast and play a big role in this tournament, as the champions bid for an unprecedented three-in-a-row.

    The similarities between Prendergast and Sexton are unmistakable. Prendergast, as he saunters back into position after a play, looks like a man who is running towards a bus he’s not sure he wants to get.

    He has quickly moved up the fly-half pecking order at Leinster, usurping Ross Byrne, Harry Byrne and Ciarán Frawley in half a season.

    There’s a lot to be said about playing behind a pack that can afford to bring RG Snyman off the bench but, even taking that into consideration, Prendergast looks the part.

    His two tries against Bristol in the Champions Cup demonstrated a fine turn of pace and nose for the line. He’s not afraid to try unlikely passes or take quick taps – witness his attempts against Australia and more recently Bath – and more importantly, not afraid to get things wrong.

    Standing opposite today is Harlequin Marcus Smith, picked over in-form Northampton back Fin Smith, who is on the bench.

    Marcus will turn 26 in two weeks’ time and already has 39 caps under his belt. There was debate about his selection this week and whether his maverick free-wheeling manner suits a game where the aerial battle will be key.

    Fin Smith’s game-management and flat-to-the-line danger, along with his Saints partnership with scrum-half Alex Mitchell, could easily have swayed Steve Borthwick, but the coach reckons the potential magic moments may swing this game.

    Marcus, who scored the winning dropgoal against Ireland in Twickenham 11 months ago, has the stats to back up Borthwick’s reasoning.

    Only wingers Damian Penaud of France, Scotland’s Duhan van der Merwe and All Black Mark Telea bettered Smith’s average of 4.5 defenders beaten per 80 minutes and he was involved in almost 13% of their tries last year. All the more impressive considering he didn’t start a Six Nations game.

    He can lift the crowd from a standing start. And given the back row selection of three breakdown specialists, Smith is expecting plenty of turnover ball to work with.

    Only 22, Fin Smith has already led his club to a Premiership title and Munster fans have seen his threat up close in recent seasons.

    He won’t be fazed if and when called off the bench for his seventh cap today.

    Jack Crowley has 19 Ireland caps

    Crowley has dropped down the line but, even in recent games, he’s shown his talent behind a Munster pack that has struggled to give him a platform anything like Prendergast enjoys.

    The Cork man almost scored the try of the season against Saracens, twice collecting his own kick before taking his eye off the ball with the line at his mercy, and his full-court game in even more testing conditions at Franklins Gardens was probably his best in a Munster shirt.

    “The way Jack has trained and played coming into the Six Nations means that Sam knows he’s got to keep raising his game and keep getting better,” said Easterby with the contented smile of a man with a first-world problem.

    Sexton’s starting position, once he had seen off Ronan O’Gara, was never in doubt for more than a decade, but the age profile of both current protagonists suggests a tantilising battle, and the accompanying hype, will run for years.

    Today is just the first chapter.

  • Opposition MPs stage walkout amid Nirmala Sitharaman’s Budget speech


    Several opposition MPs staged a walkout during Nirmala Sitharaman’s Budget speech. They were demanding a discussion on the Mahakumbh stampede and walked out to mark their protest.

    After the symbolic walkout, all MPs who went out joined the ongoing parliament session.

    At least 30 people died and over 60 were injured in the stampede last week. The opposition blamed the BJP-led UP government’s mismanagement for the tragedy.

    Nirmala Sitharaman presents Budget 2025

    Nirmala Sitharaman presented her eighth consecutive budget in the Parliament. In her opening remarks, she said the government will realise the ‘sab ka vikas’ goal by stimulating balanced growth for all regions.

    “Our economy is the fastest growing among all major economies. Our development track record for the past 10 years and structural reforms have drawn global attention. Confidence in India’s capability and potential has only grown in this period. We see the next 5 years as a unique opportunity to realise sabka vikas, stimulating balanced growth of all regions” she said.

    She also stressed unlocking the potential of India’s marine sector and said that the government will bring a framework for the sustainable harnessing of fisheries with a special focus on the Andaman and Lakshadweep zones.

    “India ranks second largest globally in fish production and aquaculture. Seafood exports are valued at 60,000 crore rupees. To unlock the untapped potential of the marine sector, our government will bring in an enabling framework for the sustainable harnessing of fisheries from the Indian inclusive economic zone and high seas with a special focus on the Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands,” she said.

    She also highlighted a national mission for cotton production farmers.

    “For the benefit of lakhs of cotton-growing farmers, I am pleased to announce a mission for cotton productivity. This five-year mission will facilitate significant improvements in the productivity and sustainability of cotton farming and promote extra-long staple cotton varieties. The best of science and technology support will be provided to farmers,” Sitharaman added.

    The Finance Minister also mentioned that the government will establish a Makhana Board in Bihar to benefit farmers in the area.

    “Makhna Board will be established in Bihar to improve production, processing, value addition and marketing of Makhana. The people engaged in these activities will be organized into FPOs. The board will provide handholding and training support to Makhana farmers and will also work to ensure they receive the benefits of all relevant government schemes,” she said.

  • Patti Smith collapses on stage during concert


    Patti Smith, one of the most influential figures in the early punk rock scene of the 1970s, collapsed on stage on Wednesday while performing a show in Brazil.

    “A grossly exaggerated account is being spread by the press and social media,” she wrote. “I had some post migraine dizziness. Had a small incident, left the stage, and returned 10 minutes later and talked to the people.”

    “I was checked out by an excellent doctor and was absolutely fine. Please do not accept any other story,” she continued. “With all the strife in the world, this explainable incident does not merit so much attention. Thank you everyone for your concern. Trust me I am fine.”

    “I’m fine. You can hear I’m fine,” she told The Associated Press during a brief phone interview. “The whole thing has been grossly exaggerated.”

    In March a number of notable artists, including Michael Stipe and Chrissie Hynde, are expected to perform at a tribute concert marking the 50th anniversary of the release of Smith’s legendary album, “Horses.”
