  • Official Starting Lineups – AC Milan Vs Inter Milan Derby: Hakan Calhanoglu Starts

Official Starting Lineups – AC Milan Vs Inter Milan Derby: Hakan Calhanoglu Starts

Official Starting Lineups – AC Milan Vs Inter Milan Derby: Hakan Calhanoglu Starts

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield against AC Milan. This evening’s Serie A matchday 23 clash kicks off at 18.0 CET.

The big lineup doubt for Inter heading into this evening’s derby clash with Milan concerned midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Turkish international has been on the sidelines for a few weeks with injury.

Calhanoglu’s last match for Inter was also against Milan – in the Supercoppa Italiana final last month.

However, the 30-year-old suffered a thigh problem in that match. Then, subsequently he also suffered a calf strain which has kept him out for a total of six matches.

Calhanoglu returned to training this week – however there were doubts about whether the Turk would be ready to rush straight back to the starting eleven against Milan, or just the bench.

However, Calhanoglu is ready – Inter coach Simone Inzaghi starts him.

For the former AC Milan midfielder, moreover, derby clashes with his old side the Rossoneri are always especially important.

Inzaghi Goes With Full-Strength Starting XI For Derby

Apart from Calhanoglu, there were very few doubts for Inter’s starting eleven heading into this evening’s match.

Firstly, in goal it is certainly no surprise to see Yann Sommer start. Therefore, the former Bayern Munich veteran keeps up his record of starting every Serie A match for Inter this season.

Meanwhile, in defense it is the trio of Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, and Benjamin Pavard.

Next, in midfield Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan complete the usual trio alongside Calhanoglu.

Then, on the flanks Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries get the nod.

Lastly, in attack Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram lead the line.

Meanwhile, there are a couple of notable names on the Inter bench. Francesco Acerbi is back from injury, while Nicola Zalewski is available after completing his move from Roma on loan.

  • Will Levis Will Be the Titans Starting QB in 2025

While there are those that are ready to jump ship from the Will Levis experience in Tennessee, it may not be all as bad as some think.

The 2024 season was pretty much a disaster for the Titans after winning just three games and earning the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. All signs point towards the team using the first overall selection on a quarterback to lead the franchise.

Tennessee might not want to be too trigger happy about moving on from Levis. The season was not good, but Levis still has some characteristics of what could make him a solid starter in the NFL.

Post-Senior Bowl First Round Mock Draft

Mac Jones Will Sign as the Tennessee Titans Starting QB in NFL Free Agency

One Free Agent Signing for All 32 NFL Teams

Levis Showed Improvement in Year 2

People can criticize Levis all they want, but there were signs of him showing improvement from season one. His biggest improvement came with his accuracy as he increased from 58.4% in 2023 to 63.1% this past season and that’s with less talent around him. His scrambling ability improved as well as he was able to pick up over four yards a carry which was double from 2023.

The turnovers did increase from four interceptions in 2023 to 12 this season and there were times of his decision-making being all over the place. What fans must keep in mind is he was number a new offensive system for the second straight year and trying to get in rhythm of his new head coach Brian Callahan.

Do Titans fan remember former quarterback Steve McNair? It took him six years just to get to his first Pro Bowl and he only completed over 63% of his passes twice in his 13-year career with both coming in the last two years in Baltimore. It takes time to build a quarterback up to his full potential, so patience is needed for Levis.

Titans Weren’t Set Up for Success

Let’s face it, the Titans’ 2024 campaign was doomed the moment Derrick Henry left for the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs. This left Levis to work with Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, which while they are not bad options, they don’t live up to number one receiver status.

Tennessee’s offense finished 26th in total offense, averaging 304.3 yards per game. New running back Tony Pollard was able to eclipsed 1,000 yards, but he can’t be compare to what Henry has done. Ridley also added over 1,000 yards as he showed his talent with the second leading receiver only putting up 497 yards.

It’s hard to win in the NFL if the team surrounding a quarterback can’t play at an elite level. The Titans were in rebuild mode in 2024 so it’s hard to be too critical of Levis when it should be 2025 where he shows the most growth.

Draft Generational Player & Sign Veteran QB

The Tennessee Titans Will Draft “Generational Player” in Travis Hunter

There is good quarterback talent between Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but neither really screams “hall of fame talent.” One player that the Titans should consider instead is Travis Hunter who can play receiver and help Levis be his number one guy while loading the secondary with talent.

Tennessee will have options in free agency to push Levis to improve his play with the likes of Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Zach Wilson among others. While a veteran quarterback will be expensive to pay for, they could be brought in to challenge Levis and help motivate him to earn the starting job.

We have seen teams do this in the past and it has benefited them. Even if the veteran quarterback doesn’t win the job, Levis will have someone to use as a mentor to help better shape his game in year three.

With the recent trade of Ryan Tannehill, many are speculating who will be the starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans in 2025. One name that has been gaining traction is Will Levis.

Levis, a former standout at Penn State, has shown tremendous potential in his limited playing time with the Titans. His strong arm and athleticism make him a viable candidate to lead the team in the future.

While there may be other contenders for the starting quarterback position, Levis has the tools and the drive to succeed. With a strong supporting cast around him, including star running back Derrick Henry and talented receivers, Levis could thrive as the leader of the Titans’ offense.

Only time will tell if Levis will indeed be the Titans’ starting quarterback in 2025, but all signs point to a bright future for this young and promising player. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Starting 5: Surging Knicks and Lakers meet tonight on ABC

Jalen Brunson and LeBron James were each named starters for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.

This article was pulled from our Starting 5 Newsletter, a daily look at all things NBA. To get the newsletter in your inbox every morning, subscribe here.

SURGING SQUADS MEET ON ABC: KNICKS vs. LAKERS TONIGHT

One game back of the Nuggets for 4th place in the West and one win shy of their first 8-2 stretch of the season, the Lakers enter Saturday playing some of their best ball of 2024-25.

The Knicks ride into Saturday on a five-game heater, just 1.5 games back of the Celtics for 2nd-place in the East – a spot Boston has held since October.

Tonight on ABC those two hot streaks will collide at MSG (8:30 ET).

Big Apple Buckets: In their last three outings, the Knicks have totaled 408 points (122, 143, 143) – the most across a three-game stretch in franchise history.

The catalysts? Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns – the first Knicks to both be named All-Star starters in the same season since Walt Frazier & Earl Monroe (1974-75).

    • Combining for 50.5 ppg, Brunson (25.9) and Towns (24.6) are on pace to become the first Knicks tandem to average 50+ points in a season since Willie Naulls and Richie Guerin in 1961-62
    • Their Key To Success? Operating inside, as Brunson ranks 2nd in the NBA in drives this season (18.8 per game) and 4th in ppg off drives (11.9)
    • KAT, meanwhile, ranks 9th in points in the paint with 13.0 ppg – the most since his second NBA season
    • The Result? Closer – and cleaner – looks, as New York ranks 4th in made 2-point field goals (30.6) and 2nd in 2-point FG% (57.1)

While Brunson and Towns lead the charge, the Knicks’ potent offense is equally fueled by their relentless supporting cast, which thrives on turning hustle plays into hard-earned points.

    • Offense To Defense: New York ranks 24th in pace but capitalizes on its opportunities to run better than almost anybody, ranking 3rd in ppg off turnovers (20.0)
    • Creating Chaos: Those caused turnovers stem from three elite defenders – Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges – who lead the team in steals, respectively
    • “I think we’re at our best when we’re getting turnovers,” said KAT earlier this week. “And we’re having that translate to our offense.”

New York’s starting 5 of Brunson, Bridges, Hart, Anunoby and Towns leads all five-man units in scoring with 47.7 ppg when they’re all on the floor together (min 5 GP). Many of those points come from extra possessions earned by Hart.

    • All Heart: Hart (listed as questionable for tonight) shines on the glass, ranking 2nd in offensive rebounds among guards (105), resulting in 14.3 second-chance ppg for New York
    • All Effort: He’s also recovered 57 loose balls this season, 12 more than the next closest player
    • All-Around Results: Hart entered 2024-25 with six career triple-doubles. Through 47 games this season, he has six more. In those outings, the Knicks are 6-0
    • “I think Josh Hart is the heart and soul of this team,” said Towns earlier this week. “There’s so much more that he does that doesn’t come up on the stat sheet.”

LEBRON TAKES CENTER STAGE AT MSG

For the Lakers, who will be without All-Star center Anthony Davis (abdomen), L.A. will look to a familiar face to lead the way.

One who has done some of his best work at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

For two decades now, NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James has delivered at MSG, leaving fans of both teams in awe.

Can he deliver again tonight to help keep the Lakers’ hot streak going?

    • The King Of MSG: In 30 career regular-season games at “The Mecca,” James has averaged 28.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.4 assists
    • No other player in NBA history, whether playing for the Knicks or an opponent, has averages of 28/6/6 at MSG
    • James has done it over the course of 21 seasons

Alongside his unprecedented averages at the Garden is a 22-8 record and totals across the board that showcase his legendary all-around game.

And LeBron’s MSG legacy isn’t just about numbers — it’s built on nearly a quarter century of show-stopping moments, from 50-pieces to soaring tomahawks.

Before he takes the floor tonight (8:30 ET, ABC), let’s relive some of his most iconic plays at one of basketball’s most iconic venues.

2009: One year after hanging 50 at MSG, a 24-year-old LeBron took it up a notch, dropping 52 with his raw athleticism on full display.

2013: At the peak of his powers, James submits a dagger vs. New York with a vintage steal and slam. The hangtime, the force, the flair…

2015: And how about breaking down guards before flying up and around bigs for a casual double-clutch finish?

In his latest chapter at the World’s Most Famous Arena, what will the King have in store?

The New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers are set to face off tonight in a highly anticipated matchup that will be broadcast on ABC. Both teams are currently on hot streaks, with the Knicks winning six of their last seven games and the Lakers winning nine of their last ten.

The Knicks, led by All-Star forward Julius Randle, have been one of the biggest surprises of the season so far. Randle has been playing at an MVP level, averaging 23.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. The Knicks have also been getting strong contributions from RJ Barrett, Derrick Rose, and Immanuel Quickley.

On the other side, the Lakers have been dealing with injuries to key players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but have managed to stay afloat thanks to the play of role players like Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell. With James expected to return soon, the Lakers will be looking to build on their recent success and make a push for the top spot in the Western Conference.

Tonight’s game promises to be an exciting and competitive battle between two of the hottest teams in the league. Make sure to tune in to ABC at 8:00 PM ET to catch all the action!

  • Starting Five: Badgers head down to Evanston

    1. LAST TIME OUT

Wisconsin engaged in a tight battle with Maryland. Both teams got out to slow shooting starts, with Maryland holding the one-point advantage during halftime. Wisconsin started the second half strong, taking the lead with an 8-0 run. Maryland answered back though, creating its own 11-0 run late in the game. A late game push by the Badgers came wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit, ultimately falling, 76-68.

John Tonje put up his third straight game with 20+ points, finishing with 23 while going 5-for-8 from the 3-point line. Steven Crowl collected 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists. John Blackwell added 10 points, all of them coming in the second half.

The Badgers struggled with shooting throughout the night, but stayed in the game with hustle and physicality. They outrebounded the Terps, 39-38, finished with more points in the paint, and scored 12 points off turnovers. Crowl, Nolan Winter, and Xavier Amos each finished with a block.

The Wisconsin Badgers are gearing up to take on the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston this weekend, and fans are buzzing with excitement. As the Badgers prepare to hit the court, let’s take a look at the starting five players who will be leading the charge.

    1. Brad Davison – As a senior guard, Davison brings experience and leadership to the team. Known for his tenacity on defense and his ability to knock down clutch shots, Davison will be a key player in this matchup.

    2. Johnny Davis – The sophomore guard has been on fire this season, leading the team in scoring and showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court. Look for Davis to make a big impact in this game.

    3. Tyler Wahl – The junior forward is a Swiss Army knife for the Badgers, contributing in multiple facets of the game. Wahl’s hustle and energy will be crucial in setting the tone for his team.

    4. Chucky Hepburn – The freshman point guard has been a pleasant surprise for the Badgers this season, showing poise and maturity beyond his years. Hepburn’s playmaking abilities will be on full display in this contest.

    5. Steven Crowl – The sophomore center has been a force in the paint for the Badgers, using his size and skill to dominate the boards and protect the rim. Crowl’s presence will be vital in controlling the paint against the Wildcats.

The No. 20 Missouri Tigers look to pick up an important ranked road victory against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The Tigers are in the middle of an impressive and to some, surprising season. Head coach Dennis Gates has his squad playing great team basketball on offense and defense as they continue to rack up wins in the SEC.

Mississippi State won’t be an easy matchup, however. They have a few big wins to its name, including Ole Miss and Memphis and played teams like Kentucky and Tennessee very close. Gates will have his hands full with the Bulldogs, especially on the road.

“Chris Jans does an amazing job and he has been his entire career. Mississippi State is a tremendous team, well-balanced. Defensively, we know what they bring to the table,” Gates said. “Their grit, their toughness, that’s something that is an identity of their program, always has and always will be.”

The Bulldogs are led by flamethrower guard Josh Hubbard. He’s averaging 17.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and three assists per game this season. Behind him is junior forward KeShawn Murphy, posting a career-best 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Leicester City – van Nistelrooy has Vardy starting, of course.

With two consecutive wins Everton have started moving away from the drop zone, but this weekend poses a more direct challenge. Leicester City broke their own seven-game losing streak with a win last weekend and are sitting six points behind the Blues having played a game more.

A win over the Foxes will increase that gap to nine points and add a definitive exclamation mark to the Toffees’ resuscitation under David Moyes.

The Blues last game against the Foxes was earlier in the season at the King Power where they were lucky to come away with a point thanks to Iliman Ndiaye. Leicester’s last game at Goodison was back in 2022-23 season when they got relegated, but not before picking up three points off the Blues with a 2-0 win in November 2022.

Everton will face Leicester City in a crucial Premier League match at Goodison Park. Both teams are looking to secure a European spot for next season, so this game is crucial for their ambitions.

Here are the starting lineups for both teams:

Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Godfrey, Keane, Digne, Allan, Doucoure, Iwobi, Rodriguez, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

Leicester City: Schmeichel, Castagne, Fofana, Soyuncu, Thomas, Ndidi, Tielemans, Perez, Maddison, Barnes, Vardy

Two exciting young talents will also start for Everton, with James Garner and Joao Virginia getting the nod in midfield and goal respectively.

  • Thousands of Costco workers could go on strike starting Saturday

More than 18,000 Costco workers could go on strike as soon as Saturday as representatives from the union and company try to work out an agreement.

The Teamsters reached their first national agreement with Costco in 2022, and that contract ends on Friday.

On its website, Costco claims it is “much more employee-focused than other Fortune 500 companies.”

“By offering fair wages and top-notch benefits, the company has created a workplace culture that attracts positive, high-energy, talented employees,” the company added.

But the Teamsters union says it is challenging Costco to prove it’s a “pro-worker” company. Teamsters said earlier this week that Costco has not presented them with a fair contract.

“The Teamsters are committed to securing a fair and reasonable agreement but are prepared to take action if the wholesale giant fails to deliver,” the union said earlier this week.

Earlier this month, 85% of unionized Costco workers voted to go on strike if the union could not reach an agreement with the company.

“Our members have spoken loud and clear — Costco must deliver a fair contract, or they’ll be held accountable,” Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien said after the vote. “From day one, we’ve told Costco that our members won’t work a day past January 31 without a historic, industry-leading agreement.”

As of 2023, Costco had 208,000 employees in the United States. Costco has seen massive growth in recent years with its revenue, company financial reports show.

Thousands of Costco workers across the country are gearing up for a potential strike starting this Saturday. The labor dispute stems from disagreements over wages, benefits, and working conditions.

If the strike goes forward, it could have a significant impact on Costco stores nationwide, as employees from various departments, including warehouse workers, cashiers, and food service workers, are expected to participate.

The workers are demanding fair compensation for their hard work and dedication to the company, citing concerns about low wages and inadequate healthcare coverage. They are also calling for improved safety measures in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Costco has yet to comment on the potential strike, but the company may face disruptions in operations and customer service if a large number of employees walk off the job.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as negotiations continue between Costco management and the workers’ union.
