A seismic shift is happening as it pertains to the Florida State Seminoles and their men’s basketball program, as head coach Leonard Hamilton is stepping down and will not return next season, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed.
“Leonard Hamilton will resign from his post after 23 years at the school,” Corey Clark of Warchant wrote. “The announcement is expected to come after Hamilton speaks with his team in a 3 p.m. meeting. Hamilton, who was in the final year of his contract, will coach out the rest of the season for the Seminoles before stepping down.
“He also has agreed to help FSU with the transition process to a new head coach and could remain with the program in a yet-to-be-determined capacity.”
Hamilton began his tenure in Tallahassee back in 2002. Since then, he’s led the Seminoles to immense success, like an Elite Eight appearance during the 2017-2018 season. He’s won over 450 games with the program, but the last few seasons have been tough on the program.
They’ve fallen short in many aspects, and even though Hamilton has been able to steady the ship a bit, they haven’t made the NCAA Tournament since a run to the Sweet 16 during the 2020-2021 season. Now, Florida State will move in a different direction, with their leader of over two decades moving on.
Before taking his talents to Florida State, Hamilton spent a decade with the Miami Hurricanes, where he amassed 144 wins and brought them to a Sweet 16. Before that, Hamilton was with the Oklahoma State Cowboys for four seasons, where he won 56 games in Stillwater.
As you can tell, there’s been no shortage of success throughout his coaching career. Hamilton also spent one season in the NBA as the leader of the Washington Wizards. It didn’t go well, as his record ended up being 19-63 with the franchise, and it was his only season on the job. Still, his contributions to college basketball far exceed his record at the professional level.
Moving forward, it’ll be fascinating to see how the Seminoles try and replace the stability the 76-year old coach brought to the program. Ironically enough, Hamilton’s former team and fellow Florida-based school Miami is dealing with a similar situation, after Jim Larranaga retired in December.
Regardless, Leonard Hamilton gave his life to basketball, and it’s easy to see why he’s so revered by the sport’s top athletes and pundits. While his time with Florida State is ending, he leaves an undeniable legacy, entering a new chapter and ending his tenure with the Seminoles.
After 20 successful seasons at the helm of the Florida State men’s basketball program, head coach Leonard Hamilton has announced his plans to step down following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.
Hamilton, who has led the Seminoles to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and a Sweet 16 berth in 2018, has been a pillar of consistency and success during his tenure in Tallahassee.
In a statement released by the university, Hamilton expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the program and thanked the fans, players, and administration for their support throughout his tenure.
As the 2024-25 season approaches, Florida State fans will undoubtedly be eager to see Hamilton and the Seminoles make one final push for a deep postseason run before the legendary coach passes the torch to his successor.
In today’s digital age, data is one of the most valuable assets for individuals and businesses alike. From important documents and photos to financial records and customer information, data plays a crucial role in our daily lives. However, data is not immune to various threats such as cyber-attacks, hardware failures, natural disasters, and human errors. This is why having a reliable data backup and recovery system in place is essential to protect your valuable information.
Data backup is the process of creating copies of your data and storing them in a separate location from your primary storage device. This ensures that if your primary data is lost or corrupted, you can easily restore it from the backup copies. Data recovery, on the other hand, is the process of retrieving and restoring data from backups in the event of data loss.
There are several reasons why data backup and recovery are crucial steps that should not be skipped:
1. Protect against data loss: Data loss can occur due to various reasons such as hardware failures, software malfunctions, accidental deletion, and cyber-attacks. Without a backup system in place, you risk losing important information that may be impossible to recover. By regularly backing up your data, you can protect against data loss and ensure that your information is safe and secure.
2. Minimize downtime: In the event of data loss, recovering your data can be a time-consuming process. This can result in downtime for your business, leading to loss of productivity and revenue. With a reliable data backup and recovery system, you can quickly restore your data and minimize downtime, allowing your business to continue operating smoothly.
3. Ensure business continuity: For businesses, data is a critical asset that drives operations and decision-making. In the event of data loss, businesses may face significant disruptions that can impact their reputation and bottom line. By having a robust data backup and recovery system in place, businesses can ensure business continuity and avoid potential losses.
4. Compliance requirements: Many industries have regulatory requirements that mandate data protection and retention policies. Failure to comply with these requirements can result in fines, legal liabilities, and reputational damage. By implementing a data backup and recovery system, businesses can ensure compliance with relevant regulations and protect themselves from potential penalties.
In conclusion, data backup and recovery are essential steps that should not be overlooked. By implementing a reliable backup system, you can protect against data loss, minimize downtime, ensure business continuity, and comply with regulatory requirements. Investing in data backup and recovery is a small price to pay for the peace of mind knowing that your valuable information is safe and secure. Don’t skip this crucial step – your data depends on it.
Howie Mandel posted a pic of Bill Burr and Billy Corgan in the “Step Brothers” pose. How Mandel/Instagram
Burr shared he was not a fan of how the meet and greet went down, and Mandel doubled down
He posted a photo to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday of Burr’s and Corgan’s faces photoshopped onto Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in the poster for the 2008 comedy “Step Brothers.”
The former “Deal or No Deal” host set the post to the Smashing Pumpkins song “Today.”

“Howie did what he did because he is a Hollywood whore and he doesn’t care what happens,” he said on Wednesday.
He added that Mandel “just brings up all that weirdness.”
Eisen asked Burr if he was “pissed” at the fellow comedian, to which Burr responded that he purposely avoids speaking publicly about personal aspects of his life and “did not appreciate” being ambushed.

“Billy’s fine. That’s the first time I ever met him and it was fine or whatever, but I did not appreciate what Howie did,” Burr said. “Not at all.”
But at the end of the day, there are no hard feelings going forward.
“He’s Howie, so he’s sorta hard to hate,” the actor said. “How do you hate a germophobe? He’s like, not threatening. He just walks with his arms in so he doesn’t rub against curtains that he owns … He’s a strange man.”
During the initial interview when Corgan walked in, Burr told Mandel “You’re an a–hole.”

Corgan previously claimed to Mandel that his stepmom had asked him: “Do you know who Bill Burr is? Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician.”
Corgan continued at the time, “This is a true story. I’m not making this up, there is no joke in this. This is a true story. I’ve never told this anywhere, honestly.”
He said to his stepmom, “‘OK, that sort of works,’ and I looked at Bill’s age and we are similar age.”
“And my father did once tell me that I had a half brother named Bill,” Corgan admitted, “who was basically born around the same time as me. He told me on my 18th birthday. This is all totally true. I swear to God. So I said, ‘Well, how many other possible illegitimate children does Daddy have,’ because he did tell me about this one Bill.”
Howie Mandel took to social media today to mock comedian Bill Burr with a hilarious photo mashup featuring Billy Corgan from the band Smashing Pumpkins in the movie Step Brothers. The feud between Mandel and Burr has been heating up in recent weeks, with both comedians taking shots at each other in interviews and on social media.
In the photo, Corgan’s face is superimposed onto the body of Will Ferrell’s character from Step Brothers, while Burr’s face is placed on the body of John C. Reilly’s character. Mandel captioned the photo with, “Looks like Bill Burr found his long-lost brother!” referencing the ongoing feud between the two comedians.
Fans of both Mandel and Burr have been eagerly following the feud, with many taking to social media to weigh in on the ongoing drama. Some fans are speculating that the feud may be a publicity stunt, while others are eagerly anticipating a potential comedy roast between the two comedians.
Regardless of the true nature of the feud, one thing is for sure – Howie Mandel is not backing down from his comedic rival anytime soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this hilarious feud as it continues to unfold.

ATLANTA — Now that the Braves have erased their need for an outfielder by signing Jurickson Profar, will they bolster their pitching staff by adding a starter or reliever?
“There’s plenty of really good players that we like, a lot of them, through trade or free agency,” president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said. “But you’re trying to get the right fit. It won’t surprise me if we’re still talking to people into Spring Training. It’s the way things are going. We’re almost into the month of February. So we’ll continue to see if something comes up that makes sense.”
At the right price, Nathan Eovaldi might have made sense for the rotation. But would Atlanta have then had the financial flexibility necessary to strengthen its outfield with Profar? Had the Braves doctors not been concerned with Jeff Hoffman’s shoulder, he might have signed a five-year deal worth between $45 million and $48 million, and we wouldn’t have seen all those great jovial social media memes of Anthopoulos chilling on the beach.
While it might not have seemed like Atlanta was doing much over the past couple of months, Anthopoulos and his staff likely feel like they have worked harder than they did during the many winters that they erased needs earlier.
So, where might the club go from here? A source revealed that the Braves and Cubs are among the teams pursuing free-agent reliever Ryne Stanek. Stanek served as an opener for the Rays during the 2018 and ’19 seasons, but he would most likely best fit as a traditional reliever with Atlanta.
Anthopoulos is willing to add some insurance to a rotation that should be strong as long as Spencer Strider, Chris Sale, Reynaldo López and Spencer Schwellenbach stay healthy. But he’s not going to add just to add. In other words, he would likely only add a starter who would be a desirable option to make a postseason start.
Or one that is at least a considerably better option than Grant Holmes and Ian Anderson, a pair of out-of-options hurlers who stand as the favorites to begin the season as Atlanta’s fourth and fifth starters, since Strider likely won’t return from right elbow surgery until the end of April.
“We’re not locked into one area,” Anthopoulos said. “If there’s a good starter deal, we’ll do it. Trade, free-agent signing or a bullpen deal, the same way. But we’re not close to anything. We’re still having conversations about both.”
If the season were to start today, here is how the pitching staff might look:
Rotation: Sale, López, Schwellenbach, Holmes, Anderson Bullpen: Raisel Iglesias, Pierce Johnson, Aaron Bummer, Dylan Lee, Daysbel Hernandez, Angel Perdomo, Anderson Pilar and TBD
You could put Amos Willingham or Jordan Weems in that last bullpen spot, but knowing that it could be filled by Holmes or Anderson once Strider returns, you likely wouldn’t give it to a pitcher like Weems, who doesn’t have options. So, for now, let’s just expect that Jesse Chavez/Josh Tomlin role to be filled in April by a pitcher with options.
The Atlanta Braves are making moves this offseason, and their latest signing of infielder Jurickson Profar is sure to bolster their roster. But what is their next step after adding Profar to the mix?
With Profar in the fold, the Braves now have additional versatility and depth in their infield. That being said, they could still use some help in the outfield and potentially at the pitching position. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them explore options to add another outfielder or starting pitcher to their roster.
Additionally, the Braves could also look to address any potential areas of weakness or depth concerns on their bench. Adding another utility player or backup catcher could provide added insurance and flexibility for the team.
Overall, the Braves are in a good position with the addition of Profar, but they still have some work to do in order to solidify their roster for the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see what moves they make next as they continue to build their team for a successful campaign.

Chelsea are set to make an offer to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, while Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán is closing in on completing a £64.5m switch to Al Nassr. And it’s Deadline Day in the Women’s Super League. Join us for the latest transfer news, rumors and gossip from around the globe.
– Chelsea are set to make an offer to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to L’Equipe. Garnacho, 20, has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim and is also of interest to Napoli as they seek a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG for €60m. United are looking to raise funds, and Marcus Rashford could also depart, but want a fee of €95m to let Garnacho go. However, a swap deal involving Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunkucould reduce the total amount for all concerned and United are keen to bring him in.
– It’s Deadline Day in the Women’s Super League (WSL) and Chelsea are eager to complete the signing of Barcelona midfielder Keira Walsh, sources have told ESPN. Walsh’s contract is up at the end of the season and Arsenal were heavily linked with her last summer. However, sources have told ESPN that Chelsea have moved quickly and are optimistic of getting the deal across the line, with the fee at around €550,000.
Elsewhere, Manchester City forward Chloe Kelly has released an emotional statement asking to be granted her wish to leave the club in search of first-team football. Sources have told ESPN that Manchester United remain keen to sign Kelly on loan, and she has turned down a move to Brighton, but City are reluctant to let her leave for their rivals and another side in the mix at the top of the table. There could also be a major move in Europe as Squad Depth reports that Lyon are finalising an $830,000 (€800,000) deal to sign Houston Dash defender Tarciane.
– Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán is set to undergo his medical ahead of his proposed move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, where he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Athletic. The two teams are reported to have agreed a £64.5m deal for the 21-year-old, despite him recently signing a six-year contract at Villa Park in October. Duran has since been linked with an exit from the club in a continued struggle to garner first-team football over current starter Ollie Watkins, who the Villains rejected a reported £60m offer from Arsenal for on Wednesday. Manager Unai Emery said post-match after Villa’s 4-2 win over Celtic in the UEFA Champions League that Durán’s move is “good news” for the club as it shows they are doing the right things in terms of developing players.
– Manchester United want to sign Sporting CP full-back Geovany Quendaas he eyes a reunion with former boss Ruben Amorim, says O Jogo. Left-back Patrick Dorgu is poised to join from Lecce for €35m, but Amorim will also need a right-back for his 3-4-2-1 formation and the 17-year-old Quenda is top of his wishlist. United won’t push for a deal this month due to a lack of funds, but will try and land him in the summer.
– Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is attracting interest from Al Hilal, according to Globo Esporte. The Saudi Pro League side have reportedly identified the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Neymar, who was confirmed to have agreed a move to return to Santos on Tuesday. Initial talks are said to have taken place with Los Blancos, though it is expected that a move could be difficult to complete in the middle of the season. Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salahis also believed to remain on Al Hilal’s radar, though they are currently exploring alternatives.

EXPERT TAKE
ESPN’s Sam Tighe looks at why Aston Villa couldn’t say no to a huge offer to sign Jhon Durán.
The word “enigma” has become overused in football, but in Durán’s case it’s the perfect way to describe a chaotic, mysterious, incredible, but baffling footballer.
From a pure talent and potential perspective, few can hold a candle to him. He has scored 20 goals for Aston Villa and almost all of them have been utterly remarkable, from his swerving Goal of the Season contender against Everton, to his audacious lob against Bayern Munich, barely a month goes by without him doing something to send jaws to the floor.
The conundrum with the 21-year-old has been that outside of his delicious ball-striking and natural nose for goal, his game is unrefined — a fact hammered home by the sheer contrast in his understanding of holdup, pressing and game management to Villa teammate Ollie Watkins.
The two have struggled to co-exist, in part because they struggle to play together, but also because they both demand to be first choice. Something was going to give in 2025 and it’s no surprise that it’s Durán that departs, as Unai Emery understandably prefers Watkins’ reliability over the Colombia international’s maverick nature.
That, plus the fact a fee of £64.5m plus bonuses should effectively solve any Profit and sustainability rules (PSR) concerns Villa may have had this campaign, makes it an opportunity the club can’t pass up.

According to recent reports, Chelsea have intensified their pursuit of Barcelona wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho. The 17-year-old forward has been turning heads with his impressive performances for Barcelona’s youth teams, and Chelsea are said to be eager to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Garnacho is considered one of the brightest young talents in Spanish football, and Chelsea are hoping to beat out competition from other top European clubs to secure his signature. The Blues have reportedly been in talks with Barcelona over a potential transfer fee, with negotiations said to be progressing well.
If Chelsea are successful in their pursuit of Garnacho, it could be a major coup for the club as they look to bolster their attacking options for the future. With the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Christian Pulisic already in their ranks, adding Garnacho to the mix could make Chelsea’s attacking lineup even more formidable.

SAN FRANCISCO – The hype for the Warriors’ first night of a back-to-back didn’t match the expected vibe in Chase Center when the Oklahoma City Thunder come to town on Wednesday night. First, the Warriors had to take care of business without Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga against the shorthanded Utah Jazz.
When these two teams faced each other in the second game of the 2024-25 NBA season, the Warriors won by 41 points in Utah. Tuesday night sure wasn’t as easy for the Warriors, needing to battle until the very end to beat the Jazz 114-103.
How did they pull out the victory? The 3-point line and taking care of the ball. The Warriors made 17 3-pointers, nine more than the Jazz for a 27-point advantage. They also only had nine turnovers, scored 26 points off 15 Jazz turnovers and scored 25 second-chance points.
Dennis Schröder and Brandin Podziemski combined to score 43 points in Curry’s absence. Schröder scored a team-high 23 points, his most in a Warriors jersey, and was 5 of 13 on 3-pointers. Podziemski added 20 points on 5-of-12 shooting and 4 of 11 on threes for his second 20-point game this season, and first since Dec. 19.
Here are three takeaways from the Warriors improving to 23-23 on the season.
Injury Scare
With Curry out because of injury management for his bilateral knee tendinitis, the Warriors needed others to provide scoring. This was a prime game for Schröder to take advantage of a big opportunity, and early on he didn’t disappoint. Schröder was a plus-9 in the first half across 19 minutes with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists.
But early in the second half, Schröder had everybody holding their collective breath. While going up for a left-handed layup, Schröder came down hard and immediately grabbed his left knee. He remained on the floor and needed help from director of medical services Drew Yoder and director of sports medicine and performance Rick Celebrini to make it down the tunnel and back to the Warriors’ locker room.
It appeared Schröder’s night was coming to an end with an early exit. Apparently not.
Later in the quarter, Schröder was back on the bench with a heating pad wrapped around his left ankle as he stretched with a band. At the 3:21 mark of the third quarter, Schröder made his return.
When he went to the locker room, Schröder was at 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting. After coming back from the locker room, Schröder scored another eight points, going 3 of 9 from the field.
Trust In Looney
On the same day Trayce Jackson-Davis was named a Rising Star for NBA All-Star weekend at Chase Center, the second-year pro started his third consecutive game and 37th of the season. However, after the first quarter, Jackson-Davis was a non-factor. He played six minutes in 10 seconds in the first quarter and didn’t get another chance the rest of the game.
Veteran center Kevon Looney hauled in seven rebounds in the first half, five in the first quarter and two in the second, and started the second half in place of Jackson-Davis. While Jackson-Davis was a minus-7 in his first-half stint, Looney was a plus-12.
Through three quarters, Looney was up to a plus-15 in 17 minutes off the bench thanks to having six points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. He ended up scoring six points and came down with a game-high 11 rebounds – six on defense and five on offense.
Looney’s 24 minutes played were his most off the bench this season, and his plus-23 was second to only Gui Santos, who was a plus-25.

For the first time in 15 days, Kyle Anderson was back on the court and in action for the Warriors. The 11-year veteran last played on Jan. 13 after missing five straight games to injury, as well as being a DNP (Did Not Play) in the Warriors’ previous game. Within a minute of making his return, Anderson made his impact by throwing down a dunk.
Three minutes later, Anderson got up for an easy two points again.
Anderson scored four points on those two dunks in the second quarter and grabbed one rebound in just under six minutes. Though he remained on the bench for the entire third quarter, Anderson started the fourth alongside Quinten Post.
There are many nights where Anderson is the odd man out. Not Tuesday night. He was needed, and finished with six points and two rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench.
