  • Timberwolves face tough test without Donte DiVincenzo: Who steps up?

Donte DiVincenzo will not play Friday night when the Timberwolves visit Madison Square Garden for a matchup with Karl-Anthony Towns and the Knicks. His absence could pose significant challenges for Minnesota.

DiVincenzo had replaced Mike Conley in the starting lineup just six games ago and was stellar during that stretch, averaging 17.5 points on 42.1% shooting from three, along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

Meanwhile, Conley, coming off the bench in those six games, has averaged 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.

It’s unclear how Minnesota will adjust its starting lineup, but there appear to be two logical options. They could either reinstate Conley in the starting five or allocate DiVincenzo’s minutes to Nickeil Alexander-Walker to maintain Conley’s rhythm with the second unit.

If Conley returns to the starting lineup and his workload increases from 21 minutes per game to over 30, the most viable solution to cover his backup minutes at point guard would be to give rookie Rob Dillingham around 20 minutes per game. Dillingham was called up from the G League on Thursday following a two-game rehab stint for an ankle sprain that sidelined him since December 23.

DiVincenzo had played in all 40 games this season, making his absence uncharted territory for Minnesota. Compounding the challenge is their grueling schedule, which includes games against the Knicks, Cavaliers, Grizzlies, Mavericks, and Nuggets over the next nine days.

Replacing DiVincenzo’s three-point shooting will be critical. He’s averaged over four made threes per game in the last six contests. While Conley has been shooting efficiently from deep (40% during his reserve role), it will be crucial for the Timberwolves to continue getting offensive contributions from Naz Reid, Jaden McDaniels, and Alexander-Walker.

On the bright side, Reid has been on fire, shooting 46.9% from beyond the arc on 5.3 attempts per game over the last six games. McDaniels has also been reliable, hitting 42.9% of his threes on 3.5 attempts per game during the same stretch.

Minnesota hasn’t been a strong offensive team this season, and now they face the additional challenge of overcoming the loss of a player who has been their second-best performer of late.

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without guard Donte DiVincenzo as they face a tough test against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With DiVincenzo sidelined with an ankle injury, the Bucks will need someone to step up and fill his shoes.

One player who could potentially step up in DiVincenzo’s absence is Pat Connaughton. The sharpshooting guard has shown flashes of brilliance this season and could provide a much-needed spark off the bench for the Bucks.

Another player who could step up is Bryn Forbes. The veteran guard has proven himself as a reliable scorer and could help make up for the scoring production lost with DiVincenzo out.

Ultimately, it will be a team effort for the Bucks to overcome the absence of DiVincenzo. They will need everyone to step up and contribute in order to secure a victory against the Timberwolves. Stay tuned to see who rises to the occasion in this tough test for Milwaukee.

The lead singer of Newsboys has announced his decision to quit fifteen years after his “life was forever changed” by the success of the Christian rock band.

Michael Tait announced to fans the shocking news that he was stepping down in an Instagram post Thursday describing his musical career with the band as “some of the most fulfilling, faith-filled, and rewarding years of my life.”

The singer, from Washington DC, joined Newsboys in 2009, after the exit of former member Peter Furler, and went on to have a glittering music career that landed him four Grammy Awards with the band along with an additional nomination for a fifth.

Newsboys will continue to make music, in his absence, Tait stated, and is set to perform in 38 concerts for their upcoming international tour.

In an outpouring message to fans, he said: “Your love and support has meant everything. Whether you’ve been rocking with us since day one or jumped on board later, thank you.

“Thank you for showing up, singing loudly, and living out the message of our music. You’ve inspired me more than you know.”

Newsboys has amassed a monthly listener base of over 1.3 million on Spotify and Tait stressed his decision to leave was not one he had planned.

The 58-year-old star said: “While this may come as a surprise given I’ve been touring ever since college, I’ve made for me what is a monumental and heartfelt decision that it is time to step down from Newsboys.

“This decision does not come lightly and has been a shock to even myself, but amidst prayer and fasting, I have clarity that this is the right decision.”

Tait reminisced on the band’s major milestones from iconic singles like “Born Again”, “We Believe”, and “Worldwide Revival”, to “God’s Not Dead” – Newsboys released their most recent album, Worldwide Revival (Part One), July last year. The evangelical band self-prescribe as being “one of the biggest bands in Christian music history” having sold over 10 million records, according to their Spotify profile.

Since its 1989 inception, the band has climbed the Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart with two No. 1 hits including “You Are My King (Amazing Love),” and “We Believe.”

He wished his fellow bandmates, Duncan, Jeff, Jody, and Adam, the best of luck carrying on the Newsboys’ venture.

“There’s so much I’m thankful for, but the laughter and tears we shared together, the prayers, the late-night talks, and the moments we have shared together both on and off stage are things I will be grateful for forever.

“You are my family, and always will be”, he added.

Away from music, Tait has been open about his conservative political views, first endorsing Ted Cruz for president in 2016 before supporting Donald Trump, opposing his impeachment in 2019 and performing at an Evangelicals for Trump concert in January 2020.

Michael Tait, the lead singer of the popular Christian rock band Newsboys, has announced that he will be stepping down from the band after more than a decade of fronting the group. Tait, who joined Newsboys in 2009, has been a beloved member of the band and has helped to lead them to continued success in the Christian music industry.

In a statement released by Tait, he expressed his gratitude for his time with Newsboys and the fans who have supported him throughout his career. He also shared that he feels it is time for him to pursue other opportunities and projects, and that he is excited to see what the future holds.

Tait’s departure from Newsboys marks the end of an era for the band, but fans can rest assured that the remaining members of Newsboys will continue to make music and spread their message of faith and hope. Tait’s powerful vocals and energetic stage presence will surely be missed, but his legacy with the band will live on in their music and in the hearts of their fans.

We wish Michael Tait all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing where his talents take him next. Thank you for the music, Michael, and may God bless you on your journey.

Tait went on to thank his Newsboys bandmates for their time together, saying, “You are family, and always will be. I know Newsboys will carry on doing incredible things for God’s kingdom with strength and purpose and I can’t wait to cheer you on while you do.”

The announcement comes just days before the group continues the 2025 leg of their Worldwide Revival Nights Tour on Jan. 18 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. A social media statement from Newsboys noted that Tait’s exit will not impact their upcoming tour, which is slated to run through August.

“We are grateful for the extended season Michael has had with Newsboys….as he said in his announcement, the memories we share are deeply cherished. As he walks into the next season of life, we are stepping into the next season of Newsboys,” the group’s Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein, Jody Davis and Adam Agee said in the social media post.

“We are kicking off our Worldwide Revival Nights tour as planned this weekend, and we hope to see you at a show soon … as we navigate this season of change, we know that worshipping together is the way we want to move forward. We know there will be questions about what the future holds, and in due time we’ll have answers for those questions. For now, we want you to know that Newsboys isn’t going anywhere; we’re going everywhere!” the group’s statement continued.

Newsboys released their most recent album, Worldwide Revival (Part One), on July 19, 2024. Tait joined Newsboys in 2009, following the departure of former Newsboys member Peter Furler. Since forming in 1989, the band has earned two No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart, including “You Are My King (Amazing Love),” and “We Believe.” The group has also earned 13 top 10 Christian Airplay hits, and has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.

Tait was previously part of the groundbreaking CCM rap-rock group, DC Talk, from 1988-2001, alongside TobyMac and Kevin Max Smith. The four-time Grammy-winning DC Talk was known for songs including “Jesus Freak” and “Between You and Me.” He also led his own band, Tait, prior to joining Newsboys.

Check out both statements from Tait and Newsboys below:

It was announced today that Michael Tait, lead singer of the popular Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) band Newsboys, will be stepping down from his position. Tait has been with the band for over a decade, contributing his powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence to their live performances and recordings.

In a statement released by Tait, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he has had with Newsboys and the fans who have supported him throughout his time with the band. He cited personal reasons for his decision to step down, but assured fans that he will continue to pursue his passion for music in other ways.

Newsboys has not yet announced who will be replacing Tait as lead singer, but fans can rest assured that the band will continue to create uplifting and inspiring music for their loyal followers. We wish Michael Tait all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing what he will accomplish next.

  • Next steps for a more efficient immigration system

The proposed changes laid before Parliament today (16 January) will provide the flexibility to increase the maximum fee that can be charged on a range of immigration and nationality products and services, including:

    • Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) fee rising to £16

    • certificate of sponsorship fee rising to £525

    • naturalisation as a British citizen rising to £1,605

    • naturalisation as a British overseas territories citizen rising to £1,070

The changes to ETAs, certificates of sponsorship and nationality products are forecast to generate an additional £269 million a year.

As part of the government’s Plan for Change, ETAs will deliver a more streamlined, digital immigration system which will be quicker and more secure for the millions of people who pass through the UK border each year.

The introduction of ETAs is in line with the approach to border security taken by many other countries, including the USA and Australia.

However, following feedback from the aviation industry, the government has agreed a temporary exemption for passengers who transit airside, and therefore do not pass through UK border control.

This move will primarily affect Heathrow and Manchester airports, as the only UK airports which currently offer transit facilities. The exemption will be kept under review.

The legislation laid today will be debated in Parliament and is subject to approval by both Houses. If approved, the proposed new fees will be introduced by amending separate legislation, the Immigration and Nationality (Fees) Regulations 2018, as soon as Parliamentary time allows.

In order to create a more efficient immigration system, there are several key steps that can be taken to streamline processes and reduce backlogs. Here are some next steps that can be implemented to improve the immigration system:

    1. Implement technology upgrades: Investing in modern technology and digitizing processes can help eliminate paper-based applications and streamline the immigration process. This can help reduce processing times and improve the overall efficiency of the system.

    2. Increase staffing levels: Hiring more immigration officers and support staff can help reduce backlogs and speed up processing times for applications. By having more resources available, the immigration system can better handle the volume of applications and provide faster results for applicants.

    3. Improve coordination between agencies: Enhancing communication and collaboration between different government agencies involved in the immigration process can help avoid delays and streamline procedures. Clear guidelines and efficient handoffs between agencies can help ensure a smoother process for applicants.

    4. Expand visa options: Increasing the number and types of visas available can help meet the demand for skilled workers and address labor shortages in certain industries. By offering more pathways for legal immigration, the system can better match the needs of employers and applicants.

    5. Enhance transparency and accountability: Providing clear information to applicants about the immigration process, requirements, and timelines can help reduce confusion and improve trust in the system. Establishing clear benchmarks and performance metrics can also help hold agencies accountable for their processing times and outcomes.

By taking these next steps, we can work towards creating a more efficient and effective immigration system that meets the needs of applicants, employers, and the country as a whole.

  • Biden says the ERA is ‘the law of the land’ but the next steps are unclear : NPR

President Biden on Friday declared that he considers the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution is “the law of the land,” a surprising declaration that does not have any formal force of effect, but that is being celebrated by its backers, who plan to rally today in front of the National Archives.

The amendment would need to be formally published or certified to come into effect by the National Archivist — and when or if that will happen is unclear.

The executive branch doesn’t have a direct role in the amendment process, and Biden is not going to order the archivist to certify and publish the ERA, the White House told reporters on a conference call. A senior administration official said that the archivist’s role is “purely ministerial” in nature, meaning that the archivist is required to publish the amendment once it is ratified.

The 1970s-era amendment passed by Congress would guarantee men and women equal rights under the law, but it took until 2020 for enough state legislatures to ratify it, missing a deadline set by Congress by a long shot.

But Biden said he believed the ERA had cleared the hurdle to be added to the Constitution as its 28th Amendment when Virginia ratified it five years ago. He did not explain why he waited until the waning days of his presidency to take action.

“It is long past time to recognize the will of the American people. In keeping with my oath and duty to Constitution and country, I affirm what I believe and what three-fourths of the states have ratified: the 28th Amendment is the law of the land, guaranteeing all Americans equal rights and protections under the law regardless of their sex,” Biden said in a brief written statement.

His move comes after a campaign from Democratic lawmakers, including Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., who has said it would be a way to protect abortion rights. Gillibrand has said she expects that the matter will end up in the Supreme Court.

The issue has long been the subject of legal controversy. In 2020, the National Archivist – who is charged with making constitutional amendments official – declined to certify the amendment, citing an opinion from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel. The department said it considered the ERA to be expired after a 1982 ratification deadline was missed. In 2022, the Office of Legal Counsel released an opinion affirming that 2020 decision.

Last month, the archivist said that Congress and the courts would need to take further action to lift the deadline for the amendment to be ratified – arguing that it could not legally certify and publish the ERA.

In a recent statement, President Joe Biden affirmed his support for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), calling it “the law of the land.” However, he also acknowledged that the next steps in fully ratifying the amendment are currently unclear.

The ERA, which aims to guarantee equal rights under the law regardless of sex, was first proposed in 1923 and finally passed by Congress in 1972. However, the amendment fell short of the necessary ratification by 38 states by the deadline set by Congress in 1982.

Despite this setback, efforts to revive the ERA have gained momentum in recent years, with three additional states ratifying the amendment in recent years. However, legal challenges and questions surrounding the deadline for ratification have left the amendment’s future uncertain.

Biden’s statement signals his commitment to advancing gender equality and ensuring that the ERA is fully incorporated into the Constitution. However, the path forward remains unclear, with potential legal battles and political obstacles still standing in the way.

As advocates continue to push for the ERA’s ratification, the debate over its significance and impact on gender equality in the United States is likely to intensify. Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing issue.

  • Is Gen X ready for retirement? Steps you can take now

As Generation X, born between 1965 and 1980, approaches retirement age, many are wondering if they are financially prepared for this next chapter of their lives. With retirement looming, it’s important to take proactive steps now to ensure a comfortable and secure future. Here are some key steps you can take as a member of Generation X to prepare for retirement:

    1. Assess your current financial situation: Take stock of your assets, savings, investments, and debts to get a clear picture of where you stand financially. Consider working with a financial planner to help you create a retirement plan tailored to your specific goals and needs.

    2. Increase your retirement savings: If you haven’t already, start contributing to a retirement account such as a 401(k) or IRA. Consider increasing your contributions to take advantage of employer matching contributions and maximize your savings potential.

    3. Pay down debt: Reduce high-interest debt such as credit card balances and loans to free up more money for retirement savings. Aim to pay off debt before you retire to lower your expenses and increase your financial security.

    4. Plan for healthcare costs: Healthcare expenses can be a significant cost in retirement. Consider purchasing long-term care insurance or setting aside savings specifically for healthcare costs to protect your assets in retirement.

    5. Reevaluate your investment strategy: As you approach retirement, consider adjusting your investment portfolio to reduce risk and protect your savings. Diversifying your investments can help mitigate market fluctuations and ensure a more stable retirement income.

    6. Consider downsizing: If you own a home, downsizing to a smaller or more affordable property can free up equity for retirement savings and reduce ongoing expenses such as mortgage payments, property taxes, and maintenance costs.

    7. Create a retirement budget: Estimate your future expenses in retirement and create a budget to help you plan for your financial needs. Consider factors such as housing, healthcare, travel, and leisure activities to ensure you have enough savings to support your lifestyle in retirement.

  • Michael Tait steps down as lead singer of Newsboys after 15 years

After more than a decade-and-a-half of fronting the Christian rock band Newsboys, lead singer Michael Tait has announced his decision to step down, citing prayerful reflection and a sense of clarity in this new season of life.

“Fifteen years ago, my life was forever changed when I received the invite to step into the role of lead singer for Newsboys,” Tait, 58, wrote in a social media statement Thursday. “The years since have been some of the most fulfilling, faith-filled, and rewarding years of my life.”

Tait joined Newsboys in 2009 following the departure of longtime lead vocalist Peter Furler. With Tait at the helm, the band experienced a resurgence, releasing chart-topping albums such as Born Again and God’s Not Dead.

Known for their high-energy performances and faith-centered music, the band expanded its global reach during Tait’s tenure, ministering to audiences across diverse backgrounds.

“Together we wrote and produced music that I am deeply proud of — from ‘Born Again’ and ‘We Believe’ to ‘Worldwide Revival’ and, of course, ‘God’s Not Dead,’” Tait reflected.

The Newsboys, originally formed in Australia in 1985, have long been a staple in Christian contemporary music. Over the years, the group has earned numerous accolades, including multiple Grammy nominations and Dove Awards.

In his statement, Tait acknowledged that his decision to leave was not an easy one. “While this may come as a surprise given I’ve been touring ever since college, I’ve made for me what is a monumental and heartfelt decision that it is time to step down from Newsboys,” he shared. “This decision does not come lightly and has been a shock to even myself, but amidst prayer and fasting, I have clarity that this is the right decision.”

Tait also shared a verse from Matthew 6:33 that guided his decision: “‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’”

“I truly believe these words and, although nervous about the future, I am excited about what it holds for both myself and for Newsboys, as we all seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,” he concluded.

A social media statement from Newsboys noted that Tait’s exit will not impact their upcoming tour, which is slated to run through August.

“We are grateful for the extended season Michael has had with Newsboys …. as he said in his announcement, the memories we share are deeply cherished. As he walks into the next season of life, we are stepping into the next season of Newsboys,” the group’s members, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein, Jody Davis and Adam Agee, said in the social media post.

“We are kicking off our Worldwide Revival Nights tour as planned this weekend, and we hope to see you at a show soon … as we navigate this season of change, we know that worshipping together is the way we want to move forward. We know there will be questions about what the future holds, and in due time, we’ll have answers [to] those questions. For now, we want you to know that Newsboys isn’t going anywhere; we’re going everywhere!” the group’s statement continued.

Prior to his stint as the lead singer of Newsboys, Tait was part of the CCM rap-rock group DC Talk, from 1988-2001, alongside TobyMac and Kevin Smith (Max). Before joining The Newsboys, Tait also led his own band, Tait.

In a 2023 interview with The Christian Post, Newsboys keyboardist Jeff Frankenstein said he believed the Christian music band’s longevity was due to their commitment to biblical truth.

“I think our longevity is a testament to our hearts and where we are as people, because it’s very uncommon in any genre that a band would stay together for over 30 years,” Frankenstein said.

“I think that one of the cool things about Christian music, as opposed to pop music, is that we all know deep down that music affects people and has a purpose and God gave us that gift. In a pop music situation where everything’s about you and your career, you can see why those things flame out so quickly, because they’re just based around either people’s egos or just selfishness. In this situation, we all have a common purpose where we know that music can really change people, because we’ve seen it happen.”

He also credited Tait for the band’s more recent successes, adding: “We’re one of those bands that is in a rare situation where we have a black lead singer and then we’re white guys, and we have people from Australia and people that work in our office from other countries. We’re a very kind of multicultural band. … We’ve always just been ourselves. We don’t worry about being too Christian or not Christian enough. We just do what comes from the heart.”

It’s the end of an era for Newsboys fans as Michael Tait has officially announced his departure as the band’s lead singer after 15 years. Tait, who joined the iconic Christian rock band in 2009, took to social media to share the news with his loyal followers.

In a heartfelt post, Tait expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of Newsboys and thanked the band’s dedicated fans for their unwavering support over the years. He also shared his excitement for the future and hinted at new projects on the horizon.

Newsboys, known for hits like “God’s Not Dead” and “We Believe,” have yet to announce a replacement for Tait. However, fans can rest assured that the band will continue to deliver their signature blend of rock and worship music.

As we bid farewell to Michael Tait’s tenure with Newsboys, let’s celebrate the music and memories he helped create during his time with the band. Here’s to a bright future for both Tait and Newsboys as they embark on new chapters in their careers.

  • Super stand-in Scott Boland steps up again as Australia turn screw on India | Cricket

Super stand-in Scott Boland steps up again as Australia turn screw on India | Cricket

By now, anyone who watches Test cricket has an idea what kind of person Scott Boland is. Quiet, self-effacing, at home with his work but never with the attention that accompanies it. While Australian crowds have enjoyed the teenage flashiness of Sam Konstas since his all-dancing debut, there is a deeper swell of appreciation, even love, for the fast bowler who gets cheered back to the fence every time he changes fielding position, and responds with a flicker of a smile or a raised hand that is half acknowledgment, half apology.

Being chosen as an unlikely hero was less of a surprise during his three Melbourne Tests, as a home town Victorian, but the same has now been the case in Sydney on both of his forays to the SCG. On day one of the fifth Test against India on Friday, it was Boland as crowd favourite again, nearly finding himself on a hat-trick in the first session, nearly completing a hat-trick in the third, and finishing the best of the bowlers with four for 31 while knocking over India for 185.

A couple of milestones arrived for Boland. First, his 50th Test wicket, a modest marker but one that separates the brief ventures into Test cricket from the substance that can be called a career. It is a number that has often seemed unlikely for Boland: at 32 years old before his first call-up; after a tough match at Nagpur and a tougher one at Leeds in 2023; or as recently as a couple of weeks ago, when he had spent 18 months on the bench behind a perennially fit Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood. Opportunities for Boland have been doomed to be occasional, even after his devastating Ashes debut and a decisive World Test Championship final performance.

The other milestone was his 2,000th delivery, the cutoff to be counted on statisticians’ lists for career figures. Boland is taking his wickets at 18 runs apiece, a mark bettered by only a dozen bowlers ever. Ten of those played before the first world war: the others are Bert Ironmonger from the 1930s and Frank Tyson from the 1950s. This is not just a feelgood story about a modest Aussie toiler getting a modest reward. It is about someone operating at the highest level of the highest level. Boland’s numbers after his debut were wild, but the increased sample size has not much diminished them.

Boland’s career has been a lesson in humility. He played state cricket in an era when the MCG barely stirred, with occasional forays down the road where the Junction Oval was its only competitor in somnolence. His answer was relentless accuracy. For a time around 2016 he transferred that to yorker bowling with the white ball, teaming up with John Hastings to turn the last four overs of each Melbourne Stars innings a parade of 24 balls on the return crease. Both briefly ended up in national white-ball teams. Discarded, Boland reported back for duty at the MCG.

Years on, after all that toil, Test cricket turned around and gave him something different. Brought in as a workhorse, Boland’s career at the top has been defined by wickets in bursts. The most stunning part of his Test adventure has been the way he can explode.

On Friday, when he had Yashasvi Jaiswal caught at gully by the debutant Beau Webster, it made the seventh time that Boland has struck in his first over of an innings. It looked like becoming eight when Virat Kohli edged to slip, but Steve Smith’s parry to Marnus Labuschagne was ruled out by the third umpire.

If it is not the first over, it is the first spell: of the aforementioned 50 Test wickets, 21 have come in that period. Then even when he gets into subsequent spells, he strikes early in those: 12 wickets total in the first over of any spell, 15 in the second over, 10 in the third, accounting for most of his tally. There must be something about his style that is especially difficult to face before players become accustomed.

So many of those early strikes go on to return multiple wickets in an over. His debut in Melbourne exploded by taking out Joe Root and Jack Leach in one evening, then Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson the next day. In Adelaide against West Indies he got Kraigg Braithwaite, Shamarh Brooks, and Jermaine Blackwood in his first over of an innings. Against South Africa in Brisbane he took two in an over in both innings. In the World Test Championship chase, Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in one over.

Five different times he has taken two or three wickets in consecutive overs, and would have made that six times in Sydney if not for a dropped catch.

His attempt at three wickets in three balls in this match was as close as anyone could get without completing it. Rishabh Pant donated the first wicket with a half-hearted pull, no foot movement and no balance as he dinked it to mid-on, but the scoring suffocation that Boland contributed to at 1.55 runs an over played its part. Nitish Kumar Reddy was fresh off his Melbourne century but out first ball, unable to cope with the steep bounce that Boland extracted while the ball moved away.

Left-hander to right-hander to left-hander, but Boland has rarely had trouble landing one on the spot at the first time of asking. The ball to Washington Sundar decking in, passing the edge so closely they might have whispered to one another, while climbing even more absurdly, making the batter flinch away, ending up in front of the wicketkeeper’s face. Alex Carey dropped it, but let us not dwell on that.

Boland, who has had to content himself with life on the margins, was once again so close. Then he resumed his bashful demeanour, took his cap, and walked into the face of a mighty ovation to become again the solitary figure at fine leg. Bathed in affirmation, offering a tiny wave, too shy for the attention even after being one millimetre away from a Test hat-trick.

In the ongoing Test match between Australia and India, the super stand-in Scott Boland has once again proved his worth as he stepped up to the challenge and helped Australia turn the screw on India.

Boland, who was brought into the team as a replacement for injured Josh Hazlewood, has been in exceptional form throughout the series. In the latest match, he picked up crucial wickets and bowled with great control to put pressure on the Indian batsmen.

With his impressive performance, Boland has once again shown why he is considered a valuable asset to the Australian team. His ability to deliver under pressure and make an impact on the game has been commendable.

As Australia continue to dominate the match, Boland’s contribution has been instrumental in keeping the Indian batsmen in check and setting up a strong position for his team.

Overall, Boland’s performance has been a standout in this match, and his consistent performances have certainly made him a player to watch out for in future games. With his skills and determination, he has proven himself as a reliable stand-in for the Australian team.
