  • Pistons vs Pacers: Isaiah Stewart ejected


    INDIANAPOLIS — After their Jan. 16 game ended with lots of heated conversation and posturing, the Pacers and Pistons are already going at it and have already drawn double technical fouls and one player has been ejected.

    Pistons center Isaiah Stewart — who made fun of Pacers center Myles Turner for his Lego-building hobby in the last verbal skirmish — got into it with Pacers veteran James Johnson Jr., known around the NBA as the guy no one wants to fight. Stewart and Johnson were assessed double technical fouls. The incident came with 3:32 to play in the first quarter and the Pacers leading 31-22.

    Later in the second quarter, Stewart hit Pacers big man with an forearm to the chest and knocked him over. Stewart was immediately sent to the Pistons’ bench and Bryant got up ready to get after him but was held back. Officials ruled that the action involved a wind-up and was an unnecessary action and therefore a Flagrant 2 foul, leading to Stewart’s ejection. He was booed heartily on his way off the floor. Ben Sheppard seemed to wave goodbye to him as he was leaving and Stewart pointed out him forcefully as he entered the tunnel to the visitor’s locker room.

    The Pistons’ Cade Cunningham then drew a techincal with 7:06 to play in the second quarter.



    In a heated matchup between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, Isaiah Stewart was ejected after a scuffle on the court.     The surprise duo have teamed up for a new teaser ahead of Uber Eats’ forthcoming Super Bowl commercial, and they’re taking part in a viral social media trend in the process.

    On Monday, Jan. 27, the Grammy-nominated musician, 32, and lifestyle mogul, 83, joined forces to tease their February TV spot as they tried their hand at TikTok’s “We Listen and We Don’t Judge” trend — essentially making revelations to each other without fear of judgement from the other.

    “Honestly Charli, when my agent sent me your name, I thought it was the wifi password,” Stewart told the pop star, who responded with a quip of her own.

    “Well, when my agent told me you were doing this, I thought you’d be doing catering,” Charli responded.

    Charli and Stewart then ended the 30-second clip with one final joint revelation, with the the “Guess” singer joking she thought the Super Bowl was “something I could order on Uber Eats,” as Stewart thought it was “something else.”

    “But seriously, who are you again?” Stewart asked at the end of the teaser.

    The latest teaser from Uber Eats comes as the company also shared other new teasers of Stewart and Charli on Monday — including one of them showing off a few items they apparently got delivered and another of the pop star breaking down American football in “club terms.”

    Among the many comparisons she makes to a fun night out, the “Club Classics” singer hilariously compared the kicker position to the “really fun friend who shows up and leaves after one drink” and referred to a tight end as someone who required “no translation.”

    The company also dropped a new teaser, initially premiered by PEOPLE, featuring none other than football super-fan Matthew McConaughey getting a Chicago-style makeover as he apparently channeled the Chicago Bears’ former coach Mike Ditka.

    In the clip, the Academy Award winner, 55, had his hair combed back as he rocked a Bears crewneck sweater, a massive mustache and some shades indoors while looking into a mirror — all while practicing his pronunciation of “the Bears.”

    At the end, just as it did in the Charli/Stewart teasers, “Uber Eats 02.09.25” flashed on the screen. The actor also broke down a conspiracy theory in another Uber Eats teaser on Monday.

    The star-studded teasers for Uber Eats come just weeks before the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9. Kendrick Lamar will be manning the halftime show with a special appearance from longtime collaborator SZA.

    Last year’s campaign from the Uber Eats featured appearances from Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, David and Victoria Beckham, Jelly Roll and Usher.

    Kristen Stewart, who has been sporting a dark brunette style for a few months now, debuted her new bleached look during a walk with her fiancée Dylan Meyer in Los Angeles. She styled her new blonde hair in a messy bun with loose, shaggy strands framing her face and forehead. She paired the new ‘do with light-wash jeans and a blue V-neck sweater.

    Back in 2014, just a few years before her first bleach blonde era, Stewart opened up about wanting to experiment with new hair colors. “If I wasn’t an actor, I would definitely do things to my hair,” she told Into the Gloss. “I would cut it more, I would dye it more. At some point I want to do a total boy cut, completely—not a pretty, girly version—like a straight up James Dean haircut.”

    Then, in 2016, she told Today about her decision to go blonde. “I haven’t acted in a movie in close to a year and…I’m constantly preserving my physicality and staying neutral.” When she found herself with some time off before her next shoot, she thought, “You know what, I can do whatever I want.”

    Stewart is currently in pre-production for two projects—’80s vampire thriller Flesh of the Gods and astronaut biopic series The Challenger. So, who knows, perhaps she had just enough of a break to warrant a major hair transformation in between projects.

    The actress stepped out with a new blonde hairstyle while on a lunch date in the Los Angeles area with her fiancée, Dylan Meyer. 

    For the casual outing, the Spencer star, 34, styled her mane, which was bleached to a vibrant nearly platinum hue, in a messy bun. Her outfit featured a blue V-neck sweater, jeans, statement necklaces, sunglasses, loafers and a jean jacket that she carried over her arm. 

    Meyer wore a checkered jacket, beige sweater, white pants and sneakers. 

    Per Daily Mail, the Oscar-nominated star has been rocking her lighter hair color as recently as this month, when she was pictured with Meyer in L.A. amid the ongoing Palisades wildfires.

    Stewart’s new role in Love Me, also starring Steven Yeun, sees her go back to her blonde ways, but for the majority of last year, she stayed true to her natural brunette color while promoting her previous project, Loves Lies Bleeding. During its press tour, Stewart sported a shaggy dark brown mullet with bangs that she often wore in long layers or in an easy updo. 

    She appeared to grow out her edgy cut into a slightly longer shoulder-length style revealed at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards on Oct. 24, 2024. 

    But now it looks like Stewart is sticking with the blonde, which means she’ll also be twinning with her significant other, whose signature is also silvery blonde locks.

    Stewart announced her engagement to Meyer, a screenwriter and actress, on Nov. 2, 2021, in an interview with Howard Stern. They started dating in 2019. 

    At the time, Stewart didn’t share the intimate details on how Meyer popped the question, but she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that Meyer “knocked it out of the park.” 

    Speaking on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast hosted by Amanda Hirsch in March 2024, Stewart shared a few details on her and Meyer’s vintage-inspired rings, which are the “same” but feature different stones. “It’s based on an old sketch, but it actually is new,” she revealed.

  • Unrivaled basketball league debuts with Breanna Stewart and Brittney Griner during WNBA offseason


    Unrivaled, the U.S. basketball league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, is ready for its closeup.

    The new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league will debut Friday night, a couple of years after the idea of starting a domestic league to bolster athletes’ salaries during the WNBA’s offseason without them having to go overseas.

    “Because a lot of players probably my age and a little bit older are so accustomed to going overseas,” Stewart told CBS News. “And now it’s like, no, you play WNBA. You come to Unrivaled and we’re gonna take care of you. We’re gonna pay you. We’re gonna make sure you continue to build your brand.

    Both Collier and Stewart have played for teams overseas: Collier in France and Stewart in Turkey.

    What is Unrivaled basketball?

    Unrivaled is a new 3-on-3 women’s professional basketball league where six teams, with each six players on each squad, compete for the title.

    The league will feature 36 WNBA players, including the two co-founders, whose teams will play against each other on opening night. Sensational WNBA rookie Angel Reese’s team plays in the second contest. Other WNBA stars fans can see include Sabrina Ionescu, Satou Sabally, Alyssa Thomas and Arike Ogunbowale.

    “I think I’ll be taking it all in in the introductions,” Collier said. “Once the ball goes up, it’s just the game.”

    The games will be played on a court that’s about 20 feet shorter than the WNBA court.

    Unrivaled basketball rules

    There will be three seven-minute quarters and a fourth quarter that isn’t timed. Teams will play to a “winning score” which will be determined by adding 11 points to the squad which is leading after three quarters. For example: If Team X is leading 60-55 after three quarters, the first team to 71 would win the game.

    “Every game, we will have a game-winning shot,” Unrivaled President Alex Bazzell said. “That was important for us because coming out of the third quarter, there’s no mysteries of what you need to do.”

    There will only be one free throw taken when players commit shooting fouls with the value of it equal to the shot. That means if a player is fouled shooting a 3-pointer, a made free throw will count for three points. A free throw after being fouled on a two-point attempt is worth two points and any and-1 situation is worth one point.

    There will be an 18-second shot clock instead of 24 seconds that the players use in the WNBA. The clock will stop on made baskets in the final 30 seconds of a quarter as opposed to the last minute used in the WNBA.

    How much are Unrivaled athletes getting paid?

    Nearly all the players are making more than $100,000. The average player salary is the highest ever for any women’s sports league. There is more than $8 million in the salary pool.

    Players also are getting an equity stake in the league. The league is also holding a 1-on-1 tournament in February and the winner will be paid $250,000. Each player on the winner’s Unrivaled team will also receive $10,000.

    Same as WNBA games, players took part in a half-court shootout after their morning practices. Shakira Austin made the first one and earned $100 for her efforts. She went last as the youngest player on the Lunar Owls and had the advantage of knowing that the shorter court meant a closer shot.

    “It’s a great start to the day,” Austin said.

    While the halfcourt money is the same, players are making a lot more as the league boasts the highest average salary for a professional women’s league.

    How to watch Unrivaled

    The season runs from Friday to March 17 with games played mostly on Friday, Saturday and Monday. There will be two games a night shown on TNT or TruTv. Former WNBA star and basketball analyst Candace Parker will anchor a studio show during the broadcasts.

    “I can’t even put it into words what it’s going to be like,” Stewart said. “But just the fact that there’s so much hype, there’s so much content, so much chatter about opening night and we worked really hard to get to this point both on and off the court. Excited to kind of just go in and showcase what we’ve done.”

    When is the WNBA season?

    The WNBA draft is on April 14, according to the league. 

    The regular WNBA season begins May 16, two months after Unrivaled’s final games. Three games kick off the new season: Washington Mystics vs. Atlanta Dream, Dallas Wings vs. Minnesota Lynx and Golden State Valkyries vs. Los Angeles Sparks.

    Last season, WNBA star Stewart made history with the New York Liberty helping the team end its 27-year quest and win its first championship title. It was a record-breaking season for women’s basketball, including single-game attendance records and all-time records for digital consumption and merchandise sales, according to the league.

    The 2025 season is already setting records before it even begins with each team playing a record-high of 44 games, the league said.
