Bobby Moynihan reveals he ‘stole so many props’ from “SNL”, including Dana Carvey’s Garth drumsticks

    Don’t tell Lorne Michaels.

Saturday Night Live alum Bobby Moynihan has revealed his kleptomaniac tendencies from the set of the sketch comedy series.

The comedian, who was a cast member of the show from 2008 to 2017, spilled on what exactly he’s taken during a recent podcast appearance on Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim. The two were talking about savings when Moynihan admitted he likes to “collect things.”

“I stole so many props from SNL, it’s stupid,” he said, to which Nwodim joked, “Someone jail this man!”

“Oh yes, easily. The 40th anniversary [episode of SNL] was me walking around stealing things whenever Dana Carvey would put them down,” he said. “I have his drumsticks from Wayne and Garth literally somewhere within reach.”

He’s referring, of course, to when Carvey and Mike Myers reprised their classic SNL characters in a “Wayne’s World” sketch during the special. During it, Wayne (Myers) and Garth (Carvey) list their “Top 10 Things About SNL.”

Back on the podcast, Nwodim then asked Moynihan if he feels like he’s “properly exhaled” from leaving SNL in 2017. He told her that the forthcoming 50th anniversary of the show has stirred up a lot of feelings for him.

“I can say this honestly now in the moment because I’m a little more present than usual, which is, it was starting to happen, I was starting to calm down, and then the 50th [anniversary of SNL happened],” Moynihan explained. “It’s been like the 50th has kicked up so much stuff. When the 50th is over, I feel like the real healing begins then… I just can’t wait to go watch, and be proud, and then go home.”

Nwodim, who first joined the show in 2018, agreed, adding she thinks it “will be fun” and “very special.”

Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Bobby Moynihan recently admitted to taking several props from the iconic sketch comedy show, including Dana Carvey’s Garth drumsticks. In a recent interview, Moynihan revealed that he “stole so many props” during his time on the show, with Carvey’s drumsticks being one of his most prized possessions.

Moynihan, who was a cast member on “SNL” from 2008 to 2017, confessed that he couldn’t resist the temptation to take home some mementos from the show. “I stole so many props from ‘SNL,’ it’s not even funny,” he said. “I have Dana Carvey’s Garth drumsticks, which I’m very proud of.”

The actor and comedian also revealed that he took home other items from the show, including a painting of the Titanic and a fake mustache. “I just couldn’t help myself,” he admitted.

Despite his penchant for pilfering props, Moynihan has nothing but fond memories of his time on “SNL.” “It was an incredible experience and I’m grateful for everything I learned and everyone I worked with,” he said.

Fans of Moynihan and “SNL” will surely appreciate this glimpse into the behind-the-scenes antics of the beloved show. And who knows, maybe one day those stolen props will end up in a museum dedicated to the history of “Saturday Night Live.”

  • “It’s Like Putting The Hamburglar In Charge Of Finding Out Who Stole The Big Macs”

House Republicans have vowed to get to the bottom of what really happened at the Jan. 6 insurrection. But Jimmy Kimmel isn’t buying it.

Kimmel explained during Thursday’s (Jan. 24) Live broadcast that the Republican-led Congress “is hard at work” uncovering the “mystery” of Jan. 6, despite the fact that Democrats already created a bipartisan committee to investigate the riot.

“In other words, get ready for a whole year of someone trying to convince us Nancy Pelosi pooped in her own desk,” Kimmel quipped.

The late night host also roasted the subcommittee for vowing to “uncover the full truth” about the Jan. 6 riot. “Yes, we need to get the full story of what happened there. Please, if anybody has any information of this globally televised event, you must come forward,” he teased.

House Republicans vowed to debunk the “false narratives peddled by the politically motivated January 6 Select Committee during the 117th Congress,” per a statement from House Speaker Mike Johnson. But Kimmel believed the most that would come out of the subcommittee is Jan. 6 becoming a national holiday, likely called “Patriotic Parkour Day.”

Kimmel seemed to believe there was no need for a new subcommittee to reinvestigate the riot, noting, “we know who is responsible for Jan. 6.”

    Photo: ABC/Win McNamee

    Photo: ABC/Win McNamee

“He’s sitting in the White House right now playing whack-a-mole with his Diet Coke button,” Kimmel joked.

The new subcommittee will also be led by Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk, who notably gave a tour of the Capitol to a rioter just a day before the insurrection.

The irony was not lost on Kimmel, who joked, “It’s like putting the Hamburglar in charge of finding out who stole all the Big Macs.”

Kimmel has made his feelings clear about Jan. 6 insurrectionists. He openly criticized President Trump for pardoning roughly 1,500 people who had been convicted in connection to the riot, noting some of these “simpletons” had previous criminal records.

“One of the guys had 38 previous convictions, 11 for violence or violent threats. Wasn’t Trump’s plan to remove the criminals from the general population?” he asked.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.

In this post, I would discuss the irony of putting someone with a history of theft in charge of investigating a theft. I would draw parallels between the fictional character, the Hamburglar, who is known for stealing hamburgers in McDonald’s commercials, and a situation where someone with a questionable past is given a position of authority or responsibility. I would highlight the absurdity and potential conflicts of interest that can arise in such a scenario. Ultimately, the post would serve as a cautionary tale about the importance of ensuring integrity and trustworthiness in leadership roles.

  • Mufasa Stole One Of His Iconic Lines From The Lion King From A Villain

Mufasa Stole One Of His Iconic Lines From The Lion King From A Villain

The following contains spoilers for Mufasa: The Lion King, now playing in theatersMufasa: The Lion King reveals that one of Mufasa’s iconic lines was actually taken from a major villain. Mufasa: The Lion King delves into the early days of the titular lion, long before he became the ruler of the Pride Lands. This gives the film plenty of opportunities to retroactively seed the characters and events of The Lion King, such as the evolution of the kindly Taka into the villainous Scar or how Mufasa fell in love with his eventual queen, Sarabi.

One of the more interesting additions to the film is Kiros, the dangerous white lion who served as a major threat to the animals before Mufasa was able to unite them. Kiros has a very personal reason to go after Mufasa even beyond their conflicting views on power, building to their massive duel in Mufasa: The Lion King‘s ending. Kiros is effectively everything Mufasa isn’t, a heartless and brutal despot in contrast to Mufasa’s more noble approach to rule. Notably, Mufasa took one idea of Kiros’ and flipped it into one of his iconic approaches to ruling.

Kiros Uses The Lion King’s “Everything The Light Touches” Line In Mufasa

Kiros Openly Wanted To Rule “Everything The Light Touches”

Mufasa: The Lion King reveals that the villainous Kiros believed his kingdom would entail “everything the light touches” long before Mufasa told Simba the same thing about the Pride Lands. Mufasa: The Lion King explores the early days of Mufasa. The threat that united the animal kingdom behind him was Kiros, a ruthless white lion who held a deep-seated hatred for Mufasa after the latter killed his son in a fight. However, even before that, Kiros was on a path of violence, targeting the other lion prides in the area to cement his stranglehold on the kingdom.

Mufasa Didn’t Explain A Key Part Of Scar’s Backstory Before The Lion King

Mufasa explains many details of Scar’s backstory before The Lion King, but one key aspect is surprisingly left out of Taka’s story in the prequel.

Kiros even tells other lions that he will control everything the light touches, highlighting his ambitions and his willingness to slaughter scores of innocent prides to achieve it. It stands in stark contrast to Mufasa’s motivations by the climax of the film, which reveals that Mufasa was actually reluctant to take the role of king. This willingness to forego power is why Mufasa is the perfect candidate for the role, leading to his well-respected tenure as monarch. However, this makes his decision to adopt the phrase when he’s king more interesting, as Mufasa naturally subverts Kiros’ motivations.

Why Mufasa Would Steal Kiros’ Description Of The Pride Lands

Mufasa Flips Kiros’ Plans For A More Noble Purpose

Simba and Mufasa look out to the Pride Lands in The Lion King 2019

In 2019’s The Lion King, Mufasa talks to a young Simba about how he’ll eventually take over the Pride Lands as king from Mufasa, and that “everything the light touches” will be his kingdom after Mufasa’s death. However, he’s quick to correct Simba when he asks if that means the entire kingdom will belong to him. Instead, Mufasa explains the lands “belong to no one.” It is the responsibility of the king to take care of the lands and everyone the light touches. This is a direct reversal of Kiros’ motivations, with Mufasa taking the philosophy as a noble purpose.

It’s an interesting way to flip one of The Lion King‘s iconic lines into a crucial new aspect of Mufasa: The Lion King‘s thematic connections to the earlier film.

It’s an interesting expansion of Mufasa’s motivations in The Lion King, highlighting how he took his responsibility as monarch seriously. By contrast, Kiros and Scar were driven by the power the position afforded them. Simba in turn follows his father’s mentality and is seen in the opening song of Mufasa: The Lion King to have restored the Pride Lands as a home for the greater animal kingdom without ego or ambition. It’s an interesting way to flip one of The Lion King‘s iconic lines into a crucial new aspect of Mufasa: The Lion King‘s thematic connections to the earlier film.

Mufasa: The Lion King is a prequel to the live-action remake of the original Disney animated film, The Lion King. The film will follow Mufasa in his early days; further plot details are currently under wraps. The film will likely explore Mufasa and Scar’s relationship and how it became as strained as it did. In the film, Timon and Pumba will return, with Billy Eicher and Seth Rogen reprising their roles.

Did you know that one of Mufasa’s most iconic lines in The Lion King was actually stolen from a villain? That’s right, the wise and noble king of the Pride Lands took inspiration from none other than Scar, his treacherous brother.

In the famous scene where Mufasa tells Simba, “Remember who you are,” he was actually paraphrasing a similar line spoken by Scar earlier in the film. Scar, in a moment of manipulation and deceit, tells Simba, “I’m only looking out for the well-being of my favorite nephew.”

It’s a subtle but fascinating detail that adds a layer of complexity to Mufasa’s character. Despite his righteousness and wisdom, even he is not above borrowing a line from his villainous brother when the situation demands it.

So next time you watch The Lion King, pay close attention to the dialogue and see if you can spot any other instances where Mufasa might have taken a cue from Scar. It just goes to show that even the noblest of characters can have a touch of darkness within them.

U.S. Treasury says Chinese hackers stole documents in ‘major incident’

Chinese state-sponsored hackers broke into the U.S. Treasury Department earlier this month and stole documents from its workstations, according to a letter to lawmakers that was provided to Reuters on Monday.

The hackers compromised a third-party cybersecurity service provider and were able to access unclassified documents, the letter said, calling it a “major incident.”

According to the letter, hackers “gained access to a key used by the vendor to secure a cloud-based service used to remotely provide technical support for Treasury Departmental Offices end users. With access to the stolen key, the threat actor was able override the service’s security, remotely access certain Treasury DO user workstations, and access certain unclassified documents maintained by those users.”

After being alerted by cybersecurity provider BeyondTrust, the Treasury Department said it was working with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the FBI to assess the hack’s impact.

BeyondTrust, the CISA and the FBI did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.

The U.S. Treasury Department has confirmed that Chinese hackers were behind a recent cyberattack in which they stole a significant amount of sensitive documents. The breach, described as a “major incident” by officials, is said to have occurred over the past few months.

In a statement released by the Treasury Department, it was revealed that the hackers gained access to a large number of documents related to economic and trade policy. This includes information on tariffs, trade negotiations, and other key financial matters.

The breach is believed to be part of a larger campaign by Chinese hackers to gather intelligence on U.S. government activities. This comes at a time of heightened tensions between the two countries, particularly in the realm of trade and economic policy.

The U.S. government has vowed to take action in response to the cyberattack, with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stating that they are working with law enforcement and cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident and strengthen their defenses against future attacks.

This latest breach serves as a stark reminder of the growing threat posed by foreign hackers and the need for increased vigilance in protecting sensitive government information. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.

The US Treasury department has announced that Chinese hackers have successfully stolen documents in what is being described as a “major incident”. The breach was discovered recently and is believed to have occurred over the past few months.

The stolen documents are said to contain sensitive information related to economic policies and strategies, as well as information on various government agencies and their operations. The Treasury department has not disclosed the specific contents of the stolen documents, but it is clear that this breach poses a serious security threat.

This latest cyber attack is just one in a series of similar incidents targeting US government agencies and organizations. The US government has been increasingly vocal about the threat posed by foreign hackers, particularly those linked to China and Russia.

The Treasury department has not provided any details on how the hackers gained access to their systems, but they have assured the public that they are working with law enforcement agencies and cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach and strengthen their defenses.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing cyber warfare being waged against the US government and the importance of investing in robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands.
