Black Sabbath previously played a farewell concert in 2017 Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are reuniting for one last time, to play a fund-raising concert in Birmingham on 5 July.
The heavy metal pioneers will headline a spectacular one-day festival at Villa Park, featuring dozens of bands they inspired, including Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira and Anthrax.
The concert will mark the first time that Black Sabbath’s original line-up – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – have played together in 20 years.
Osbourne, who has largely been forced to stop touring due to a combination of Parkinson’s and spinal injuries, will play a short solo set before joining his bandmates.
His wife, Sharon, told BBC News he was determined to put on one final show.
“He’s doing great. He’s doing really great,” she said. “He’s so excited about this, about being with the guys again and all his friends. It’s exciting for everyone.”
However, she said the concert would definitively be the 76-year-old’s final show.
“Ozzy didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there’s no been no full stop.
“This is his full stop.”
Heavy metal icons
The concert, dubbed Back To The Beginning, was announced at Villa Park on Wednesday by Sharon, and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.
Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who is serving as the event’s musical director, said it would be “the greatest heavy metal show ever”.
Proceeds from the show will support Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.
Other acts on the line-up include Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God and Mastodon.
In addition, the concert will feature a “supergroup”, with stars like Billy Corgan, Slash, Fred Durst, Wolfgang Van Halen and Tom Morello.
“It’s an endless amount of people,” said Sharon Osbourne. “They’re going to be doing some Sabbath songs, some Ozzy songs, and they’ll all mix together.
“Different little groups will be coming on, but they’re all icons.”

Black Sabbath are widely regarded as the inventors of heavy metal Black Sabbath formed in 1968, and held their first rehearsal at Newtown Community Centre, a stone’s throw from Villa Park.
They previously played a farewell show to a sold out audience of 16,000 people at the city’s NEC Arena in 2017.
The set consisted mainly of songs from their early days – including War Pigs, N.I.B and Black Sabbath – before finishing on their breakthrough hit and signature song, Paranoid.
The concert came at the end of an extensive, 81-date world tour, and Osbourne thanked the fans for their support over the band’s career.
“I’ve got to tell you something, what a journey we’ve all had,” he said.
“We started this in 1968 and now it’s 2017 – I don’t believe that, man. But you know what? We wouldn’t survive if it wasn’t for the fan base. So if you’re a veteran fan, great. If you’re new, welcome. But I can’t tell you enough how grateful we are for your support.”
Following that concert, Osbourne released two solo albums – Ordinary Man and Patient Number 9. However, he suffered a spinal injury in 2003 after a crash involving an ATV, exacerbated by a late-night fall in 2019, that required several rounds of extensive surgery.
He revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020 and largely stepped back from touring after playing the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
However, he recently told Rolling Stone UK of his desire to return to the stage.
“I’m taking it one day at a time, and if I can perform again, I will,” he said. “But it’s been like saying farewell to the best relationship of my life.”
He added: “I’m not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy. What’s the [expletive] point in that? I’m not going up there in a [expletive] wheelchair.”
“This is his full stop”Today, we celebrate the end of an era as we bid farewell to a colleague who has been an integral part of our team for many years. His dedication, hard work, and positive attitude have left a lasting impact on all of us.
As he moves on to new opportunities and adventures, we want to thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. This is not goodbye, but rather a new chapter in his life.
We will miss his presence, his humor, and his valuable insights. But we know that he is ready for this next chapter and we are excited to see what the future holds for him.
So here’s to our colleague, our friend, and a true professional. This is his full stop, but we know that his story is far from over. Cheers to new beginnings and endless possibilities!

#Weeknd #announces #Hours #Til #Dawn #tour #making #Nashville #stopPremier League Predictions, odds and best bets: Can Bournemouth stop Liverpool? Everton vulnerable against Leicester | Football News
Our betting expert Jones Knows provides his insight as he looks forward to the Saturday card in the Premier League – can Bournemouth stop Liverpool?
Nottingham Forest vs Brighton, Saturday 12.30pm
Nottingham Forest’s style of play means they soak up pressure and therefore concede a high amount of corners, especially for a team that are challenging for a top-four finish. They are conceding 6.3 corners per game in the Premier League, a figure that Brighton should be capable of hitting at the City Ground based on the likely direction of travel of the game.
Forest will sit deep, looking to hit on the counter while Brighton will be the team dominating the ball, sustaining attacks and getting into corner-winning situations.
The Seagulls won the corner race 9-1 in the corresponding fixture that ended 2-2 and a similar type of game could be on the cards despite Forest having home advantage. Brighton to win six or more corners looks too big at 5/4 with Sky Bet.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-2 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: Brighton to win 6+ corners (5/4 with Sky Bet)
Bournemouth vs Liverpool, Saturday 3pm – PLAY SUPER 6 HERE!
This should be great fun. Bournemouth are running hot.
In their last four games, Andoni Iraola’s men are working at a 19.7 per cent conversion rate with their finishing, which is a bonkers number and a huge increase on their 9.2 per cent conversion rate over the course of this season.
In the last four games they’ve scored a goal every 5.8 shots and again that is a huge upsurge on their season average where they’ve scored every 10.8 shots per goal.
This is an unsustainable figure unless Dango Ouattara is the next Erling Haaland.
I think they might slip back to their wayward finishing ways here against one of the best defences in the Premier League.
Some may deem the Cherries as dangerous outsiders but Liverpool, fresh and ready to go after being given a rest in midweek, are such a relentless winning machine. Away win.
SCORE PREDICTION: 1-3
Everton vs Leicester, Saturday 3pm – PLAY SUPER 6 HERE!
Leicester look a great bet here at Evens with Sky Bet to get a result based on the injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oriel Mangala.
The Everton striker, who has a significant hamstring injury, has missed 15 games since the start of last season and Everton have only won three of them and scored just 10 goals.
Also, their numbers this season without Mangala would worry me based on their win price at odds-on. He has missed eight games this season and they have conceded 2.3 goals per game which is very un-Everton-like.
It would be wrong to get carried away with Leicester but they did play very well in forward areas at Tottenham, moving the ball into some dangerous positions even before they got their two goals. It wasn’t the first time they have caused teams problems under Ruud van Nistelrooy – they scored at Anfield, created enough to win the game vs Man City and were the better team in their home defeat to Crystal Palace.
SCORE PREDICTION: 1-2 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: Leicester double chance (Evens with Sky Bet)
Ipswich vs Southampton, Saturday 3pm
This could be season defining for Ipswich. It’s a big one.
They’ve disappointed me of late, offering zilch in terms of resistance against Manchester City, who are of course vulnerable, and Liverpool. The 10 goals conceded isn’t going to help their confidence in the defensive process so Kieran McKenna has a big job on his hands to get the balance right at both ends of the pitch with expectation on them in the market to land maximum points. They are 19/20 with Sky Bet – a price I can certainly leave alone.
The equation could be simple for Ipswich, if Liam Delap plays well, Ipswich win.
He’s bound to give Jan Bednarek a busy afternoon and a foul frenzy between the pair may play out. Delap is drawing 1.93 fouls per game at home this season and Bednarek, a very aggressive defender, has made at least a foul in his last nine starts, totalling 16 fouls. He is 5/4 with Sky Bet to make two or more.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-2
Fulham are a team I’m always drawn to but rarely make me any money.
They are such a well-drilled, well-coached outfit under Marco Silva with an excellent process when it comes to their underlying numbers but they find ways not to win matches. It’s down to their lack of finishers in the final third – as seen by Rodrigo Muniz in the defeat to Manchester United.
Newcastle are almost exactly the opposite with the main man Alexander Isak leading their line. It’s 18 goals in his last 18 starts across all competitions for him.
So, even though my instincts are telling me to get with Fulham here the likelihood is they’ll play well, do many things right in the game, but Newcastle will come out on top due to their better individual quality across the pitch.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1
Wolves vs Aston Villa, Saturday 5.30pm, live on Sky Sports – PLAY SUPER 6 HERE!
This is an underrated derby and one that is becoming more intense by the season.
Since the start of the 19/20 season, this fixture is the second dirtiest when it comes to yellow cards of any Premier League fixture to have been played more than five times, producing 60 yellow cards in 11 matches.
This latest battle between West Midlands’ finest is expected to deliver on the cards front as there is so much on the line for Wolves, whose bounce under Vitor Pereira has fallen flat with four straight defeats in the Premier League.
In the last four meetings between these two there have been 75 bookings points shown per game with every game landing for those backing the 50+ booking point line with Sky Bet, who are offering up 5/6 for it to land again. It’s a high line but it’s hard to resist based on the evidence.
And I think Wolves need to take this game down a scrappy path and try and overpower Villa, who surely will be feeling the effects of their rigorous schedule at various points in this match.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: 50+ booking points (5/6 with Sky Bet)
Jones Knows’ best bets…
- 1pt treble on: Brighton 6+ corners, Leicester double chance & 50+ booking points in Wolves vs Aston Villa (7/1 with Sky Bet)

The Premier League is back in action this weekend with some exciting matches on the cards. Can Bournemouth stop Liverpool’s unbeaten run? Will Everton be able to hold off Leicester’s strong attack? Here are our predictions, odds and best bets for this weekend’s matches.Bournemouth vs Liverpool:
Liverpool are currently sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League table with a 10-point lead. Bournemouth, on the other hand, are struggling in 16th place and have only won one of their last five matches. Despite their poor form, Bournemouth have been known to cause upsets against top teams at home. However, Liverpool’s attack led by Salah, Mane and Firmino is too strong to be stopped. Our prediction: Liverpool to win.
Odds: Bournemouth – 6.50, Draw – 4.50, Liverpool – 1.44
Best bet: Liverpool to win and both teams to score at odds of 2.75
Everton vs Leicester:
Everton have been inconsistent this season and are currently in 14th place. Leicester, on the other hand, have been in great form and are sitting pretty in second place. Everton have struggled defensively and Leicester’s attack led by Vardy and Maddison will likely take advantage of that. Our prediction: Leicester to win.
Odds: Everton – 3.10, Draw – 3.40, Leicester – 2.30
Best bet: Leicester to win and over 2.5 goals at odds of 3.00
These are just our predictions and best bets for this weekend’s matches. Make sure to do your own research and bet responsibly. Good luck!

Tired Al Roker unimpressed by co-stars during live Today Show episode: ‘Make it stop!’
Al Roker has a close bond with his Today Show co-stars and isn’t afraid to tell them when to stop!
The NBC meteorologist was wishing he was anywhere else during one point of the show on Wednesday, as his co-anchors Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie started singing “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.
As the duo showcased their vocal talents, Al rubbed his eyes and said: “Please, no, make it stop!” The hilarious clip was shared on Today’s Instagram page, captioned: “Uncle Al is tired.”
Fans were quick to react to the footage, with one writing: “I feel for you Al!” while another wrote: “Al is the best!” A third added: “This is too funny.”
Al has been a familiar face on the Today Show since 1996 when he was given a full-time weather slot, meaning he has been working on the popular daytime show for 29 years.
He has a legion of fans who have enjoyed watching him over the decades, and in turn he has shared a lot of his personal life with them too, both the good and the bad.
The dad-of-three faced a difficult time shortly after the pandemic when in 2022, he was hospitalized after suffering from blood clots which started in his legs and quickly spread to his lungs.
He took several weeks off work to recover, and the experience completely transformed his outlook on life. A year on from his health scare, he spoke to Today.com, telling them: “Life can turn on a dime. … We know that intellectually, but when you’re faced with it, it really does hit home. (Life) is an ephemeral gift that we’re given, and you need to appreciate and honor it.”
He went on to say that since his hospitalization, he’s made an extra effort to tell his loved ones how much they mean to him on a regular basis. “We’re really not guaranteed anything,” he said.
Since his health scare, Al has become a grandfather, something that has filled his life with even more joy. His oldest daughter Courtney and her husband Wesley Laga welcomed a baby girl, Sky Clara, in 2023.
When she was born, Al couldn’t get over the emotions and gushed to his fellow Today hosts during an emotional conversation. “It is magical, it really is,” Al said at the time.
“The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be ‘this thing’ and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child.
“And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs., 15 oz. 19 inches long and she’s just perfect. She sleeps for four hours, wakes up, goes to the bathroom, sleeps another four. We’re on the same schedule!”
Al is also a proud dad to daughter Leila and son Nick, who he shares with wife Deborah Roberts.
Tired Al Roker unimpressed by co-stars during live Today Show episode: ‘Make it stop!’During a recent live episode of the Today Show, Al Roker was visibly unimpressed with his co-stars as they bantered back and forth on air. The veteran weatherman, known for his jovial and upbeat personality, couldn’t hide his exhaustion as his colleagues continued to joke and talk over each other.
“Make it stop!” Roker quipped, looking directly into the camera with a mix of frustration and amusement. His co-stars quickly caught on to his mood and tried to reign in their antics, but Roker’s exasperation was already clear.
Despite the tense moment, Roker’s professionalism shone through as he continued to deliver the weather report with his signature charm and wit. Fans took to social media to show their support for Roker, with many praising his ability to keep the show running smoothly even in the face of chaos.
It’s clear that even a seasoned pro like Al Roker can have his limits, but his ability to handle any situation with grace and humor is a testament to his enduring popularity. Here’s to hoping his co-stars take note and give him a break next time!

Al Roker yelled at his Today costars during a segment of the show when they decided to sing their hearts out in an impromptu musical performance.
During a recent Pop Start segment on Today, Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie began singing “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Though they successfully were able to harmonize while belting the 1983 hit, Al, 70, was less than impressed.
Al took his glasses off and rubbed the bridge of his nose as he sat sandwiched in between Savannah, 53, and Jenna, 43, on the couch. They wrapped their arms around him as they continued to sing despite his very loud pleas for them to stop.
“Please, no, make it stop! Make it stop!” the meteorologist yelled as his colleagues continued to sing. Carson Daly continued talking in the background, discussing the days biggest headlines in the entertainment world.
“Oh God, please no,” Carson, 51, could then be heard saying over Savannah and Jenna’s singing. The Voice host put a pillow over his face while Jenna and Savannah sang. Craig Melvin also sat alongside them smiling during the awkward segment.
On Today’s official Instagram page, the clip was posted with the caption, “Uncle Al is tired.” The comments section was full of love for Al, who has been at the heart of the talk show for decades.
“Al is my favorite. He just makes you want to give him the biggest hug. He exudes warmth,” one person wrote.
Another person wrote, “Al is the absolute best.”
Al Roker Yells ‘Make It Stop’ After Cohosts Sing on Today
However, some people agreed with Al and weren’t too impressed by Savannah and Jenna’s singing.
“Please just stop their singing, I love them and this undermines their abilities as hosts & correspondents,” one person said.
“I can’t! Was Hoda holding this show together? Bring her back, please!!” one person wrote. “I miss Sheinelle, and hope things are going well for her and her family. The Savannah and Jenna show is more than I can handle.”
The comment was in reference to Sheinelle Jones’ ongoing absence from Today. Sheinelle, 46, addressed her TV hiatus in a January 15 Instagram post.
“I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter,” the NBC anchor wrote on the social media platform. “It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not on the the support of my Today show family, but to also have all of you,” she continued. “Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon. Love, Sheinelle.”
She has not yet made her return to the show and has not announced when she is expected to be back. Fans have been rallying around Sheinelle amid her time away from the program.
“You are beloved by us all! So many prayers for complete healing. Your family is our family,” someone commented on Sheinelle’s Instagram post, as another person wrote, “I appreciate you sharing this with us so much because you have most definitely been missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family as things progress.”
Today on the ‘Today’ show, things took a hilarious turn when Al Roker couldn’t handle the singing talents of his co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager. As the two women belted out a duet, Al Roker couldn’t help but yell “Make it stop!” in jest. The moment was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media, with fans of the show praising Al Roker for his candid reaction. It’s clear that even the most talented singers can’t please everyone, but at least Al Roker’s honesty brought some much-needed laughter to viewers’ screens.
Despite Al Roker’s plea to make the singing stop, it’s safe to say that Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager won’t be quitting their day jobs any time soon. But hey, at least they provided some entertainment for the audience!
