• Coupled with a victory over No. 1 Kansas (Dec. 8), Mizzou joins Auburn as the only two schools in the nation with multiple top-five wins this season.

• It also marks the first time for the Tigers since the 2008-09 campaign with two top-five victories.

STRONG SEC START

• Playing in the nation’s toughest conference, the Tigers are off to a strong 3-1 start in SEC play.

• The 13-game run, which includes a victory over No. 1, has come in mostly dominating fashion, leading for 438:18 of a possible 520 minutes.

DUO NEARS 1,000 POINTS

• A pair of Tigers are nearing a milestone as they are less than 15 points from 1,000 during their career.

• After scoring 22 Tuesday, Caleb Grill has tallied 992 points in 137 games and is just eight from joining the 1,000-point club.

Tamar Bates is also just 12 from the milestone as he enters with 988 points in 116 career games.

LET HIM GRILL

• Senior Caleb Grill was the leader for the Tigers in the win over Florida on Tuesday.

• Grill tallied 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting with a 6-of-10 mark from 3-point range.

• The graduate student has shown he is capable of getting hot this year and win any game for the Tigers as Tuesday marked his third game (in 12 contests) with at least six made 3-pointers.

• Grill is the first Tiger with at least three games of six made triples since Kassius Robertson in 2017-18 and one of 21 players to do so this season.

• Overall, Grill leads Mizzou with 34 made 3-pointers and a mark of 48.6 percent from beyond the arc.

HOT FROM THREE

• Overall, the Tigers have been hot from 3-point range as of late.

• In their last three games – all SEC wins – Mizzou has made at least 10 triples in each game, shooting 42.3 percent (33-78) during the span.

• Not coincidentally, the run also synced with the return of an in-form Caleb Grill from injury. In games he has played at least 15 minutes, MU is shooting 41.3 percent from 3-point range (32.6 percent in games he plays less than 15 minutes).

Pitt Take 5: Panthers aim to end current 3-game skid as well as 12-game streak vs. Clemson

Pitt’s current three-game slump could be seen as a harbinger of a season on the verge of running off the rails, with margin for error having decreased significantly.

After all, the Panthers have not lost this many ACC games in a row since 2021-22, en route to an 11-21 overall finish in coach Jeff Capel’s fourth year at the helm.

There are 14 conference games remaining for the Panthers (12-5, 3-3).

Further putting Pitt’s skid into perspective is a 9-5 finish to league play would have the Panthers at 21-10 (12-8) heading into the ACC Tournament.

Last season, Pitt was excluded from the NCAA Tournament despite going 22-11, with its fate being partly determined by a league tournament semifinals loss to North Carolina that neutralized a potential late-season push into the March Madness field.

Needing to get back in the win column, Pitt returns home to Petersen Events Center on Saturday for a showdown with Clemson (14-4, 6-1), third in the conference.

Here are five storylines ahead of that matchup:

1. Solving the Tigers

If historical precedent counts for anything, Clemson is among the worst opponents Pitt could have drawn for an important midseason game.

Heading into tipoff at noon Saturday, the Panthers ride a 12-game losing streak against the Tigers that dates to January 2015.

Not since March 8, 2014, has Pitt beaten Clemson.

Granted, since 2022-23, when Capel turned around the Panthers program and led it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016, Pitt has played Clemson more competitively.

But the overall effort hasn’t been sufficient to end a losing streak that long predates Capel’s arrival in Oakland.

2. Beware of the 3

If Saturday’s game comes down to one battle, it may be Pitt’s perimeter defense vs. Clemson’s 3-point shooters.

The Tigers feature the best 3-point-shooting offense in the ACC, with a 38.1% conversion rate.

In terms of neutralizing opponents from beyond the arc, Pitt ranks seventh leaguewide with a 32.0% team defense.

Sixth-year senior guard Chase Hunter leads Clemson with 17.4 points per game.

AP

Clemson Tigers guard Chase Hunter (1) brings the ball up court against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons during the second half of an NCAA basketball game on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, in Clemson, N.C.

His 3-point percentage of 44.6% (107 of 216) also paces the Tigers and ranks first in the ACC.

Part of limiting Clemson’s 3-point attack will come down low in preventing second-chance opportunities.

In that department, Pitt could use a reset, as the Panthers are two games removed from allowing a season-high 17 offensive boards to Louisville on Jan 11.

Eager to snag missed shots off the glass will be Clemson’s Ian Schieffelin; the 6-foot-8 senior forward ranks second in the ACC with 10.0 boards per game.

3. Success at the line

Pitt leads the ACC in free-throw percentage at 79.0%.

Clemson is second at 78.4%.

Hunter has been the Tigers’ sharpest shooter at the charity stripe, as he’s hitting 90.2% (55 of 61) of his tries.

The Panthers’ Jaland Lowe (86 of 95) has made 90.5% of his free throws, and big man Zack Austin is at 89.5% (34 of 38).

8126114_web1_ap24340112606718

AP

Pitt forward Zack Austin (55) has an attempted layup blocked by Mississippi State forward RJ Melendez (22) during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game, Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, in Starkville, Miss.

While it wasn’t enough to lift them to wins over Florida State and Louisville recently, the Panthers posted identical 90.9% make rates (20 of 22) from the free-throw line in their last two contests.

4. Limiting turnovers

So far, Lowe has enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign, stepping into the starting point guard’s shoes and shouldering a large load.

No Pitt player averages more minutes (35.1), and Lowe also leads the team in points (17.5).

Against Florida State, Lowe shot 50% from the floor and scored 22 points. But he also committed a career-high eight turnovers.

Lowe’s ball-security woes were emblematic of the team’s, evidenced by a season-high 17 turnovers against the Seminoles.

Pitt is averaging 10.6 turnovers on the season.

5. Eyes on the NET

Clemson arrives in Oakland in a slightly inferior position to Pitt looking at the NET rankings.

The Tigers are ranked 36th, with Pitt coming in 31st.

Thus, for Clemson, Saturday represents a chance at a Quad 1 victory. If Pitt manages to snap its 12-game, decade-long losing streak vs. the Tigers, a Quad 2 win would be part of the reward.

Heading into this weekend, Pitt’s NET ranking is third among all ACC programs, behind only Duke (No. 2) and Louisville (No. 28).

The Pitt Panthers are gearing up to face off against the Clemson Tigers in a crucial ACC showdown. As the Panthers look to put an end to their current three-game losing streak, they also have their sights set on snapping a 12-game losing streak against Clemson.

Pitt has had a tough stretch of games recently, but they are determined to turn things around and get back in the win column. With a strong team and a resilient mindset, the Panthers are ready to take on the challenge of facing off against Clemson.

The Tigers, on the other hand, are coming off a big win and will be looking to continue their dominance over Pitt. However, the Panthers are not backing down and are prepared to give it their all in order to secure a much-needed victory.

Fans can expect an intense and competitive game as Pitt looks to break their losing streak and finally come out on top against Clemson. Stay tuned as the Panthers take the court and aim to make a statement in this highly anticipated matchup. #H2P #PantherPride #BeatClemson

Chargers dig deep defensively; top Walsh 59-50 to run win streak to eight

Playing its fourth game in eight days, and coming off a thrilling but draining victory on the road at Northwood on Tuesday, the Hillsdale College women’s basketball team had to scrap and claw their way to victory against visiting Walsh on Thursday in a 59-50 contest.

The Chargers overcame one of their worst shooting nights of the season offensively, just 29.3% from the floor and 16.7% from 3-point range, with a stellar defensive effort, holding the Cavaliers to similarly rough percentages from the field and turning 20 Walsh turnovers into 21 points at the other end.

Hillsdale looked like they might run away with the game early, outscoring Walsh 19-5 in a dominant first quarter performance. But the Chargers went cold from the field in the second quarter, scoring just seven points and allowing the Cavaliers to claw their way back into the game at the half.

Walsh tied the game at 32 apiece on a 3-pointer with 5:53 left in the third quarter, but Hillsdale never let the Cavaliers pull ahead in the second half, stretching the lead back to 43-38 at the end of three quarters thanks to a 3-pointer by Annalise Pietrzyk and a tip in by Lauren McDonald on their final two possessions.

Hillsdale controlled the final quarter defensively, never letting Walsh get within one possession and shooting eight of 10 from the free throw line in the period to finish off Walsh and clinch the team’s eighth straight victory.

Free throws were a big separator in the game as the Chargers were able to draw fouls throughout the contest from an overly aggressive Walsh defense, allowing Hillsdale to rack up 22 crucial points at the free throw line. Senior Lauren McDonald led the way for Hillsdale with a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double and was 11 of 14 at the free throw line on her own. McDonald also chipped in four assists, three blocks and three steals in an all-around great performance.

Sophomore Annalise Pietrzyk also chipped in 10 points off the bench for the Chargers, Savannah Smith added nine points and five rebounds, Kendall McCormick finished with seven points and five rebounds, and Emma Ruhlman also had seven points and four rebounds as well.

Rebounding was another edge for the Chargers in the victory, as Hillsdale outrebounded Walsh 46-34, including 18 offensive rebounds, and turned that into 16 second-chance points.

Hillsdale remains among the G-MAC leaders at 11-5 overall and 8-1 in conference play with the win. The Chargers are now tied with Ashland for second place, a game back of G-MAC leader Malone.

Ashland is Hillsdale’s next opponent, as the Chargers get a whole week to prepare for a road trip to the Eagles next Thursday. Hillsdale will be aiming to snap a 12-game losing streak to nationally ranked Ashland that dates back to 2014, and move into sole possession of second place.

In a thrilling matchup, the Chargers showcased their defensive prowess as they dug deep to secure a hard-fought victory over Walsh with a final score of 59-50. This win marks their eighth consecutive victory, further solidifying their dominance in the league.

Throughout the game, the Chargers’ defense was relentless, forcing turnovers and creating scoring opportunities for their team. Their tenacity and teamwork on the defensive end proved to be the difference maker in this intense battle.

Offensively, the Chargers were led by standout performances from key players who stepped up when it mattered most. Their ability to execute under pressure and capitalize on scoring opportunities ultimately propelled them to victory.

With this win, the Chargers continue to build momentum and establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the league. Their determination and resilience on both ends of the court make them a formidable opponent for any team they face.

Congratulations to the Chargers on their impressive win and their continued success as they look to extend their winning streak even further. #ChargersBasketball #DefenseWinsGames #WinningStreak

NBA fans have a lot to say about Dalton Knecht cold streak, LA Lakers teammate is getting some of the blame

After proving his worth during the start of the season, one LA Lakers star has lost his touch in recent weeks.

The Los Angeles Lakers finally ended their three-game skid with a dominant win over the Miami Heat.

While most players on the team had a memorable game, Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht had another off night with just two points to his name while shooting 0-4 from the field.

Despite having a phenomenal start to the season, the Lakers rookie is currently going through an ice-cold shooting streak.

LeBron James receives blame for Dalton Knecht’s slump

Knecht quickly climbed the NBA Rookie of the Year ladder, thanks to his incredible shooting prowess from beyond the three-point line.

The 23-year-old guard received immense praise for his early season success, even getting compared to Larry Bird. However, DK has slowed down in recent weeks.

In fact, he has made just 12 out of his last 63 three-point attempts, or in simple terms, Knecht is shooting an abysmal 19% from deep.

Upon learning about Knecht’s poor form, NBA fans claimed it’s the LeBron James effect.

“I thought Lebron made his teammates better lmao,” one fan wrote. “LeBron’s next scapegoat,” another added.

“It’s called the LeBron James effect,” one more fan stated.

“The dysfunction of the Lakers. They have no identity outside of the team LeBron is on. They just have an assortment of players that don’t really blend well together,” another fan added.

But a few fans were level-headed about the situation.

“Scouting and tighter defense got him mentally fatigued. He’ll be alright, it’s growing pains.”

“Rookie wall.”

“Man I remember when Dalton Knecht was really good. What the heck happened these last few weeks,” another asked.

It makes no sense to blame James for the rookie’s poor shooting performance. In fact, fans should wait a few weeks and allow Knecht to find his rhythm before writing him off.

James on Dalton Knecht

As the oldest player on the team, it’s LBJ’s job to keep the morale of the team in tough times. In Knecht’s case, James has always been a fan of his game.

The King went as far as calling out fans who call him a liar for appreciating Knecht’s game from his NCAA days. Keeping that in mind, it’s hard to see how the 4x NBA MVP is holding back the rookie.

As a few fans have mentioned, Knecht is simply taking his time to make adjustments for more smothered coverage on the court.

After all, opposing teams quickly took notice of DK’s talent and have seemingly developed a game plan to counter his skills.

NBA fans have been buzzing about Dalton Knecht’s recent cold streak on the court, with many pointing fingers at his LA Lakers teammate for contributing to his struggles.

Knecht, known for his sharp shooting and clutch performances, has hit a rough patch in his game, shooting below his usual percentages and struggling to find his rhythm. While some fans have been quick to criticize Knecht for his performance, others have been quick to point out that his teammate’s lack of support and chemistry on the court may be a contributing factor.

Many fans have taken to social media to express their frustration and disappointment, with some even calling for changes in the team’s lineup to help Knecht break out of his slump. It remains to be seen how the Lakers will address this issue and support Knecht as he works to bounce back from his cold streak.

In the meantime, NBA fans will continue to watch closely and offer their opinions on the situation, eager to see how the dynamic between Knecht and his teammate evolves as the season progresses.

BYU vs Houston Preview: BYU Tries to End Nation’s Longest Home Win Streak

BYU and Houston both started off their Big 12 campaigns with wins. BYU beat Arizona State by 20 in Provo while Houston went on the road and beat Oklahoma State — the lowest rated Big 12 KenPom team — by 13 in Stillwater. Houston lacks a signature win and hasn’t been quite as their dominant level they were last year with Jamal Shead, but they are an analytics darling and have crushed teams in their 10 wins.

On paper, this is one of BYU’s two hardest games this season along with the road trip at Iowa State. Houston has the nation’s longest active win streak at 29 games and has pummeled inferior opponents at home this season. A loss here is expected and won’t throw off BYU’s season, but a win would present a massive opportunity for BYU to pick up a signature win and put themselves in the earlier conversation as a Big 12 title contender.

BYU-Houston by the Numbers

Houston KenPom: 4

NET: 6

AP Poll: 14

Record: 9-3

BYU KenPom: 34

NET: 40

AP: n/a

Record: 10-2

Wins: Central Arkansas, UC Riverside, Queens, Idaho, Mississippi Valley State, NC State, Fresno State, Wyoming, Florida A&M, Arizona State

Losses: Ole Miss, Providence

KenPom Prediction: Houston 73, BYU 62 — Houston 85% win probability

Spread: Houston -11.5

Point Total: 135.5

Houston Overview

As has always been the case under Kelvin Sampson, Houston is among the nation’s best defensive teams. In fact, KenPom ranks Houston #1 in defensive efficiency. The Coogs have no real defensive deficiencies. They allow opponents to shoot 37% from two — best in the nation — and opponents shoot 28.5% from three, which is top 25 nationally. They don’t force quite as many turnovers as last season, but are still top 30 nationally in turnover percentage.

Two of Houston’s losses were on neutral courts to Auburn and Alabama — arguably the two best offenses in college basketball — and the third was a more suprising loss in Las Vegas to a good but not overwhelming San Diego State team.

One area where Houston has been better than years past is 3-point shooting. The Coogs are shooting 40.6% from three, which is 7th nationally. 5th-year senior LJ Cryer is one of the best shooters nationally and isn’t afraid to hoist shots. The 6-foot-1 guard leads Houston with 15.1 ppg and shoots an average of 7 3PA per game at a 42% clip. Backcourt mate Emanuel Sharp averages 13.7 and shoots just over 5 3PA per game at a 48% clip. Houston has other guys that are respectable outside shooters, but Cryer and Sharp are the two guys you have to locate on the perimeter. Depite their 3-point efficiency, Houston doesn’t rely on the 3-point ball as the main source of offense — 35% of their field goal attempts are from three, which is #282 nationally.

As is always the case with Houston, rebounding will be a huge factor in this one. Houston crashes the offensive glass with their punishing frontcourt duo fo J’Wan Robets and Joseph Tugler. The 6-foot-8 Roberts particularly embodies Kelvin Sampson’s program and is the backbone of this team. Robets is in his fifth year in the program and averages 9 points and 7 boards. 6-foot-8 Joseph Tugler starts next to him and averages 2.5 blocks in just 20 mintues per game. Neither is very tall, but both are very physical and work to assert their physical dominance on both ends of the floor.

One glaring weakness for Houston has been their struggles in close games. All 9 Houston wins are by double-digits. When they are at their best, they are like an andaconda that slowly chokes the life out of opponents. All three of their losses are by 5 points or fewer and two of them are in overtime. Oklahoma point guard Milos Uzan is a good point guard that averages 9 points and 5 assists on 37% shooting from three, but he is not the player that Jamal Shead was. Shead was the foundation of that Houston team and made numerous shots in the clutch.

Prediction

BYU has struggled with physical defenses that pressure the ball. That’s what Houston will try to do to BYU. Are Egor Demin and Dallin Hall up to the challenge? Those two guys will need to step up if BYU is to pull the upset. Dallin Hall in particular can be an x-factor. I anticipate Hall will have 6-foot-1 LJ Cryer matched up on him for much of the game. Cryer is Houston’s top scorer, but their weakest defender. Hall showed last year he could exploit mismatches versus smaller guards. I am curious how much Kevin Young tries to put Hall in positions to break down Cryer.

Egor Demin can also swing this game towards BYU. Demin passed the ball well and opened things up for BYU’s offense versus Arizona State, but he hasn’t had his breakout game yet versus a power conference team. Very soon we’re going to get a game from Egor that makes us say, “wow, that is a top 3 pick.” Could Houston be that game? On one hand, Houston’s pressure could force Egor into turnovers and a rough shooting night. On the other end, Houston’s pressure could allow Egor to fire passes over their smaller guards and make Houston pay anytime they try to pressure him. San Diego State didn’t shoot the ball particularly well in their upset over Houston, but they had just 7 turnovers and didn’t give away points.

Outside of those players, rebounding will be a major factor in this game. Offensive rebounding in built into the DNA of this Houston program, and BYU statistically is the best team in the nation at limiting opponent’s offenive rebounds. Keba Keita will have to continue to be a rebounding force, and BYU will need efforts from everywhere on the court on the glass.

I think BYU’s defense has improved enough to keep BYU in this game from start to finish. Ultimately, I believe Houston finds a way to take advantage of a few defensive lapses from BYU’s defense for some key threes and rides a racous crowd to a competitive victory.

Prediction: Houston 76, BYU 71

*Record Straight Up: 10-2

*Record Against the Spread: 7-5

* I’ll make a prediction for every game and track my record through the season

San Jose Sharks extend losing streak to 7 despite Macklin Celebrini’s goal

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks’ losing streak has reached seven games.

In front of a sellout crowd of 17,435 spectators, San Jose couldn’t match score for score with Calgary, the fifth-best team in the NHL’s Pacific Division.

Instead, the Sharks managed just one goal on 22 shots, squandering a strong performance from goaltender Yaroslav Askarov in a 3-1 loss. Askarov finished with 30 saves against the Flames.

Macklin Celebrini scored the Sharks lone goal at the 3:04 mark of the second period, a power-play one-timer rocket set up by a nice play along the half wall by Alexander Wennberg.

Celebrini’s goal tied him for the NHL rookie scoring lead with 27 points. He is alone at the top in goals and points per game among league rookies.

That score tied the game, matching the first goal of the contest by Calgary’s Jonathan Huberdeau less than five minutes into the first period. Huberdeau tipped in MacKenzie Weegar’s shot from the point to put the Flames up 1-0.

Calgary regained the lead in the second period when Mikael Backlund pushed a power-play shot past Askarov just three minutes and 46 seconds after Celebrini brought the Sharks level.

San Jose had to struggle through injuries for much of the night. Forwards Fabian Zetterlund, Mikael Granlund and Carl Grundstrom all left the game with injuries in the first and second periods.

Zetterlund and Granlund, who appeared to be hit by pucks, later returned to the game. Grundstrom, who endured a cage-rattling open-ice check from Calgary’s Brayden Pachal, left the game midway through the first period and did not return.

This made the Sharks scramble to reshuffle their lines, an obstacle they were ultimately unable to overcome offensively.

Huberdeau scored an empty-net goal with 0.4 seconds left to seal the Flames’ win.

Despite a valiant effort from forward Macklin Celebrini, the San Jose Sharks extended their losing streak to seven games. Celebrini managed to score a goal, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory for the struggling team. The Sharks continue to search for answers as they try to turn their season around. Stay tuned for updates on their progress. #SJSharks #NHL #LosingStreak

Jim Carrey Officially Has His Career Best Rotten Tomatoes Streak Thanks To Sonic The Hedgehog

The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has given Jim Carrey the best Rotten Tomatoes streak of his entire career. Though Jim Carrey is most known for his 1900s hits, which include Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, Liar Liar, and The Truman Show, his practice stood strong as far as the late-2000s before hitting a rough patch of roles that lasted over 10 years. With Dr. Robotnik, the actor returned to his signature physical and cartoonish comedy, proving he’s still got that charm and talent that won people’s hearts so long ago.

The actor’s commitment to the franchise has been made evident time and time again, as Jim Carrey has repeatedly broken career rules for Sonic the Hedgehog so that he can come back to reprise his now iconic role. Considered one of the movies that defined Jim Carrey’s career, Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequels continue to be the gift that keeps on giving. They have eased the actor’s return to his love of his craft, allowed him to captivate old and new audiences, and positioned him for the longest best Rotten Tomatoes streak of his career.

Sonic The Hedgehog Has Given Jim Carrey The Longest Fresh Streak On Rotten Tomatoes Of His Career

Jim Carrey Has Gone Five Years Without A Rotten Movie

Even if almost every Jim Carrey movie was an instant classic, they’re not known for having the best Rotten Tomatoes scores. Surprisingly, beloved films like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Bruce Almighty, and Fun With Dick and Jane actually have pretty low reviews. Considering Carrey’s filmography features a lot of irreverent and child-like humor, it makes sense that critics struggle to take it seriously despite its proven ability to enthrall audiences worldwide and produce box office successes.

On the other hand, the actor’s acclaimed performances in projects like Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Man on the Moon didn’t necessarily earn a lot on their theatrical release. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, however, achieved something only a few of Carrey’s movies have done, and it did so in record time. The popular movies have done great at the box office and with critics — with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 earning the highest Rotten Tomatoes score, and giving its actor five straight years without a Rotten movie, something Carrey had never achieved before.

Jim Carrey’s Rotten Tomatoes Streak Is More Significant If He Does Retire

Jim Carrey’s Career Would End On Its Highest Note

Jim Carrey’s late-career success with Sonic the Hedgehog could have to do with the fact that the actor had never been a part of a genre franchise before. Notably, the actor had previously shown himself adamant about doing sequels and had even announced his retirement in 2022, after the second installment, telling Access Hollywood that he would only return “If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see” (via Variety).

OKC Thunder To Continue Hot Streak Against Spread vs Pacers

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers are about set to face off in a East-West matchup. The Thunder are perfect this season against Eastern Conference foes, without counting the NBA Cup Championship which does not factor into the regular seaon standings.

This is a battle between two hot teams as the Pacers are fresh off a season-saving road trip to get them back to .500 and heading in the right direction. The Thunder are on an eight-game winning streak, turning in a 9-1 record over the last ten games.

Oklahoma City will be without two key rotational pieces in Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso. While the Thunder have already plotted to be without Holmgren for a large chunk of the regular season, the Caruso blow hurts. The defensive ace provides a different edge and intensity off the bench while limiting offensive something of a nightmare for scorers, all extremely important for road contests.

The Pacers will have Myles Turner in the fold after listing him as questionable all day. However, Indiana despite its size, still ranks 29th in rebounds per game. This opens the door for Isaiah Hartenstein and company to still control the glass and help the Thunder earn a win.

Oklahoma City will have to shoot the ball well from 3-point land, which will be a tall task. The Thunder have labored on offense for some of this eight game stretch and keeping pace with Indiana’s top ten 3-point shooters will be difficult on the road.

However, the Thunder should have two of the three best players on the floor at minimum and its depth should be enough to pull out a win. With FanDuel keeping the line at a flat five points in Oklahoma City’s direction, this scribe would advise throwing a small sum down on the favorites that could easily disorient the Pacers turnover-prone lineups leading to easy points and a big road win.

The Bet: Thunder -5

The Record: 18-10-1

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been on fire lately, winning five of their last six games and covering the spread in four of those victories. They will look to continue their hot streak when they take on the Indiana Pacers tonight.

The Pacers have been struggling as of late, losing three of their last four games and failing to cover the spread in all of those losses. With the Thunder playing at a high level and the Pacers struggling, it seems like a safe bet to take OKC to cover the spread in this matchup.

The Thunder have been getting strong performances from their young core of players, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging 23.6 points per game this season. They also have a solid defense that ranks 10th in the league in points allowed per game.

On the other hand, the Pacers have been dealing with injuries to key players like Caris LeVert and Malcolm Brogdon, which has hurt their offensive production. They will need to rely on their defense to keep them in games, but the Thunder’s offense has been clicking recently, scoring over 120 points in four of their last six games.

In conclusion, the Thunder seem poised to continue their hot streak against the spread against the struggling Pacers. With their strong play on both ends of the court and the Pacers’ injury woes, it’s likely that OKC will come out on top and cover the spread in this matchup.
