The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs punched their tickets to Super Bowl LIX with wins on Championship Sunday. The biggest game of the season will take place at the Caesars Superdome — home of the Saints — in New Orleans, Louisiana on Feb. 9, 2025, and will kick off at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET.
New Orleans was originally granted Super Bowl LVIII, but the league changing the length of the regular season forced it to alter plans. When the NFL went from 17 to 18 weeks, the Super Bowl got pushed back a week and created a conflict that year with Mardi Gras celebrations already scheduled.
Instead of the Caesars Superdome hosting in 2024, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was the backdrop of last year’s Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
The Superdome is an important building to the people of New Orleans and was a place of refuge for 30,000 evacuees impacted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. They feared the stadium would need to be demolished, but they were able to reconstruct it. The stadium has also hosted events and concerts throughout the years.

New Orleans is tied with Miami for most Super Bowls hosted by a city. With the eighth championship held at Caesars Superdome, the stadium is extending its own record for most Super Bowls hosted by a stadium.
Super Bowl IV was the first Super Bowl hosted in New Orleans, taking place in 1970. The last Super Bowl hosted in New Orleans was in 2013 for Super Bowl XLVII, when John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh faced off in the “Harbaugh Bowl.”
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in a memorable game that also had a halftime show to remember, featuring Beyoncé and a Destiny’s Child reunion. The lights turned off after their performance, delaying the game.

“Twinless,” a comedic drama starring Dylan O’Brien, has been pulled from Sundance’s streaming site after sex scenes and other content from the film leaked online. The leaks came as “Twinless” won the festival’s coveted Audience Award on Friday.
It’s the second movie to be pulled from Sundance’s site this year. “Selena y Los Dinos,” a documentary about Tejano singer Selena, was also scrubbed from the service after the film “suffered a series of copyright infringements,” meaning it also leaked online. There were reports that fans were putting various musical numbers from “Selena y Los Dinos” on TikTok and Instagram.
“The film ‘Twinless’ was a victim of some copyright infringement on various social media platforms, therefore the festival in partnership with the filmmakers have made the decision to remove the film from the Sundance Film Festival online platform. We regret that online ticket holders will no longer be able to access the film,’” a Sundance spokesperson said in a statement. Vouchers will be provided to “Twinless” ticketholders to screen other films in the program.
“We acknowledge and regret the disappointment this may cause. However, part of our commitment to advocating for independent filmmakers is ensuring that they can protect the art that they have created — now and in the future,” the statement continued. Sundance also said it would cooperate with local, state and federal law enforcement on all piracy-related issues.
One insider familiar with “Twinless” said the film was not pulled specifically over the steamy O’Brien scenes, but rather numerous plot reveals that spoil the movie, which is still seeking a distributor out of the festival. Director James Sweeney seemed to take the incident in stride on Friday when accepting his award, saying at least audiences seemed to enjoy the pirated material. Most of these clips have been flagged or removed, the source added.
On social media, festival attendees vented about the inability to see both “Twinless” and “Selena y Los Dinos” digitally. Sundance started its streaming service when it was forced to go remote during COVID, but the service has been so popular it has remained after the pandemic faded. Sales agents haven’t always been fans. They worry about leaks and also prefer to have potential buyers watch their films in crowded theaters where audience excitement can bolster the price of a movie. Films with theatrical releases have increasingly seen fan piracy become the norm, though some industry players think the enthusiasm ultimately helps the bottom line.
Two individuals familiar with both leaked films noted that passionate fan bases — ones behind Selena and O’Brien — were driving the dissemination of the clips. The festival has pulled off hundreds of digital screenings in recent years with advanced security and watermark technology with no issues.
“Twinless,” which tells the story of two friends who meet in a support group for people who lost a twin, was one of the best received films at Sundance. O’Brien, of “Maze Runner” and “Teen Wolf” fame, was praised by critics for playing twin brothers, while Sweeney, who pulled off triple duty on “Twinless,” writing and directing the film in addition to starring, earned rave reviews for his twisty vision. Variety’s Peter Debruge called the film “disarmingly funny.” In his review, he wrote that “it’s a tonal tightwire act, to say the least, as Sweeney balances unconscionable behavior with an earnest look at bereavement, anxiety and anger management.”
Aisling Franciosi, Lauren Graham, Tasha Smith, Chris Perfetti, François Arnaud, Susan Park and Cree Cicchino round out the cast. Republic Pictures is representing the film for sales.

This is the second movie on the fest’s portal to be pulled after online leaking. Yesterday we told you first that the fest award winning documentary Selena y Los Dinos was dropped from the Sundance site after making its way on TikTok, etc.
The Mazerunner and High Road actor Dylan O’Brien plays twin brothers Rocky and Roman. Rocky dies tragically, and his lover Dennis (Sweeney who stars, directs and wrote the movie) feels responsible. He befriends Roman in a twin grieving therapy circle, pining for his late lover. There’s some spicy sex scenes in Twinless, however, there were also spoiler scenes leaked.
Twinless was part of Sundance’s opening day films and out of the gate counts 100% on Rotten Tomatoes among critics.
Sundance requires those movies in competition to be part of their online portal. Twinless won the Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic and a Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting for O’Brien.
Sundance began streaming its lineup during Covid, and continued the practice after the live-edition returned in 2023. The Sundance streaming portal is five years in the running. The streaming facet of this year’s edition began on Jan. 30 and shuts down before midnight tomorrow, Feb. 2. The whole idea of the portal has divided the industry that frequents Sundance. The fest reported in 2021 that half million people tuned into their streaming portal to watch movies.
Republic Pictures is the acquisition label for Paramount Pictures. They made the James Sweeney directed and written bromance dramedy for a cost in the single digits. One source close to the movie tells us that “buyers are circling the movie like planes at O’Hare airport”.

So, like most things Hollywood, the lack of a follow-up no doubt comes down to box office, with White House Down grossing $205 million worldwide against a budget of $150 million, while Olympus Has Fallen earned $170 million against its $70 million budget. It seems there’s only room for one B-movie action series with beginnings in the White House.

Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx‘s 2013 action thriller film White House Down can now be watched for free. The movie is officially streaming on Tubi as of Feb. 1.
White House Down‘s new streaming home comes directly after the Channing Tatum film left Netflix on Jan. 31 alongside 21 and 22 Jump Street. In the movie, Tatum stars as divorced US Capitol Police officer John Cale, who finds himself fighting to rescue his daughter and the President of the United States (Jamie Foxx) when a terrorist attack occurs in the White House. Other cast members in the film included Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins and James Woods.

Tatum and Foxx’s chemistry was one of White House Down‘s strengths, according to critics, but it wasn’t enough to stop the film’s mixed reviews. It currently has a 52% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with narrative clichés and poorly edited action cited as one of the major drawbacks to the political thriller. White House Down grossed $205 million worldwide against its budget of $150 million.
White House Down ended up being one of two films released in 2013 depicting a terrorist attack on the White House, with Olympus Has Fallen being released three months prior to White House Down‘s theatrical debut. Both movies received mixed reviews, but Olympus Has Fallen was ultimately more successful, leading to the 2016 sequel London Has Fallen and a third film in the franchise, Angel Has Fallen, which was released in 2019.
Foxx and Tatum have both made unexpected appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in more recent years. Foxx played the role of Max Dillon / Electro in Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Andrew Garfield in 2014, and he reprized the role in 2021 for the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tatum, who was originally set to star as Remy LeBeau / Gambit in a canceled solo film as part of the X-Men universe for 20th Century Fox, was finally able to realize the role when he appeared in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine.

Ryan Reynolds commented on Tatum’s depiction of the character, saying the studio was ‘obsessed’ with him. “I honestly don’t know what goes on behind closed doors in the bookkeeping sessions at Marvel, but I do know that they’re obsessed with him in that role,” Reynolds said. “Once you show that it works well, that’s really what they need. Sometimes they just need to see it in action.” There has yet to be any official confirmation if Tatum will continue to play Gambit going forward in future MCU movies.

Dan Hurley’s Huskies have been one of the more inconsistent teams in college basketball this season, having lost three of their six games, despite holding ranked wins against Baylor and Gonzaga. One of the reasons for UConn’s struggles of late can be pointed to the loss of star freshman Liam McNeeley, who has been out with a high ankle sprain since the start of January. The Huskies are coming off a 72-61 win over DePaul on Wednesday.
To pull out a top-10 ranked win on Saturday, UConn will have to stop National Player of the Year contender Kam Jones. The Memphis native is averaging 18.9 points and 6.3 assists per game this season, the latter of which ranks 15th nationally. Another player to look out for on Marquette is Stevie Mitchell, who has scored 20 or more points in each of the two games and averaging 2.9 steals in the Golden Eagles’ last eight games.
