Eagles invite survivor of Bourbon Street attack back to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX: ‘Not letting evil win’
Former Princeton football player Ryan Quigley was seriously injured and lost his best friend and fellow teammate, Tiger Bech, in the violent terrorist attack in New Orleans on January 1. But Quigley will have the opportunity to write that tragic story when he returns next weekend as an honorary guest of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles invited Quigley and Bech’s sister to attend their divisional round game against the Los Angeles Rams last month, but this week they invited him to their training facility with the intention of surprising him with Super Bowl LIX tickets.

“We want to tell you the real reason we brought you here,” Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham said in a video shared by the team. “It’s okay if you’re not feeling it, but we would love to have you down for the Super Bowl.”
This year’s Super Bowl will be hosted by the city of New Orleans. It will take place just a little over a month after the attack. Quigley will return to the city, something he vowed never to do again.
“New Year’s Eve was my first time in New Orleans ever, it was my first night, and I told myself it was going to be the last,” he told the team’s website. “But then I thought about it, because all year I’ve been telling Tiger if the Eagles make the Super Bowl this year, I promised him I was going to take him, and he’s from Louisiana.”

“I think, not letting evil win and evil will not prevail. I think we’re going to go back to New Orleans and leave on a positive note from that city, given that Tiger’s from there and that I promised him I was going bring him down to the Super Bowl. I’m looking forward to it for sure.”
Quigley, 26, suffered broken bones in his leg, back and face and underwent surgery and several days in the hospital to recover from a horrific terror attack on Bourbon Street that killed 14 people and injured dozens more.

He hopes that his presence will allow him to share Bech’s story, something he plans to continue doing no, matter where he goes.
“Everything that the Eagles have done from being around the facilities today and the Divisional Round, to helping us share his story, there’s no words to describe it. We’re forever grateful to have the opportunity to tell the rest of the world how special Tiger was.”
“Everyone that I meet moving forward, I want to introduce Tiger as well, because of how special he was and how much character he had,” he added.

Are Wall Street Analysts Bullish on Chevron Stock?

The company posted a total revenue of $50.7 billion for the quarter which surpassed the consensus estimates by 1.6%. Although its performance was impacted due to a slump in oil prices and downstream margins, the record production from the Permian Basin and the acquisition of PDC Energy led to notable gains in its Upstream segment. Furthermore, the company’s adjusted EPS of $2.51 surpassed the Street’s expectations by 1.6% which boosted investor confidence.
Chevron is set to announce its fiscal 2024 results before the markets open today and analysts anticipate a 22.5% year-over-year drop in earnings to 10.18 per share. The company has a mixed earnings surprise history. It has surpassed the consensus estimates thrice over the past four quarters while missing on one other occasion.
However, analysts remain strongly bullish on the stock’s longer-term prospects. Among the 22 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is a “Strong Buy.” That’s based on 15 “Strong Buy” ratings, two “Moderate Buy,” and five “Hold.”

This configuration is notably more bullish than three months ago when the CVX had a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating, and 13 analysts recommended “Strong Buys.”
On Jan. 17, Raymond James analyst Justin Jenkins maintained a “Buy” rating on CVX while raising the price target to $180.

State Street and DWS drop ESG from S&P 500 ETFs to align with fund naming rules
State Street Global Advisors and DWS have removed ESG from the names of their S&P 500 ESG ETFs to comply with sustainability product naming rules in Europe and the UK.
The $4.7bn SPDR S&P 500 ESG Leaders UCITS ETF (500X), the $1.7bn Xtrackers S&P 500 ESG UCITS ETF (SNPE) and $3bn Xtrackers S&P 500 Equal Weight ESG UCITS ETF (XZEW) will all see ESG removed from the name following the outcome of a consultation from the index provider S&P.
The move comes after the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) updated its guidelines on ESG fund naming rules in October 2024, setting a November deadline.
Meanwhile, the UK’s Sustainability Disclosure Regulations (SDR) had stated the rules are set to come into effect on 2 December but recently granted ‘temporary flexibility’ until 2 April for firms to comply with the rules.

In a shareholder notice, DWS said: “For the avoidance of doubt, the investment objective, investment policy, risk profile and fees of each fund remain unchanged.
“Each fund remains subject to the disclosure requirements of a financial product under Article 8 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).”
All changes to the funds will take effect on 10 February.
MSCI also renamed over 100 ESG indices in order to comply with the new fund naming rules in September last year.
